This is our favorite late night spot in the area. The service is always really quick and everyone there is super welcoming and friendly! The vibes are great and the happy hour drink specials are a nice surprise given how pricy some of the bars have gotten in Upland. The menu has a lot of variety and perfect if you have people in your party who aren't the biggest fans of seafood, but the sushi is top notch and fresh. We got 2 specialty rolls and a basic spicy tuna roll for $44 and were pretty full at the end. All of the seafood is fresh, clean and delicious! This was a pickup order at 11pm and I was very impressed at how fresh the sushi was and how clean this place was. Very well lit I might add (see picture). Also the portion size of the rolls were pretty large, bigger than I'm use to. So worth the price. I got a rainbow roll and a California roll. Oh my gosh, where do I start, We were seated right away, I'm surprised this place wasn't more packed because the ambiance was so nice. The service was lovely. The chef even answered a question about one of the rolls that we had. We ordered maybe 4 to 5 rolls of sushi. One of them was no rice. It was the cucumber roll. The baked lobster roll was amazing that cucumber no rice roll was amazing I think I also got a spider roll. The one with the fried pieces on top presentation was beautiful, not my favorite sushi roll, but it was good nonetheless. So good that we will definitely be coming back again to try different rolls and definitely buy the baked lobster roll again. The glass noodles in the picture I believe my boyfriend that had beef in it super super yummy. We were given complementary miso soup at the beginning and complementary green tea ice cream at the end, which was so sweet. My dad was so happy with the food and service. He was taking out most dollar bills to give a tip in every tip jar he saw here lol We will definitely be coming here again. My boyfriend was right once I came to try this place. This was my first time visiting this place. The service was awesome! I was greeted kindly and sat promptly. My servers name was Sonia and if I over heard her correctly she had only been there for a few weeks. She was awesome! Very friendly service from the staff! The interior is decorated very cute and dim lit. The nigiri is sold in 3pcs per order. We tried the yellowtail nigiri which was cut to generously thick pieces. Rolls are also very good and they also had rice-less rolls which we tried. They offer complimentary miso soup and ice cream which was a pleasant surprise. I wish this place was still Sato. I miss Sara and Tony. We tried it anyway though. Our seating experience started off very poorly. We brought in our baby asleep in his car seat. We chose to sit away from the door because it was loud every time it opened. We didn't realize the other door would be loud too, so the waitress opened it to show us that it would be loud for baby. Well great....she was right because it woke him up! I told her she could have just told us instead of showing of us. He cried and then was overtired for the entire meal so hubby and I took turns with him instead of enjoying our meal. Big thanks to you lady. This is what my college coach meant when he said that "common sense isn't very common." I was upset the entire meal. Couldn't even really look at the menu. For the most part the food was good. The miso soup was very grainy....as if they use powdered dashi that didn't dissolve or something. So that wasn't my favorite. The salmon roll also wasn't very good because they only used the tiniest dot of avocado. Pointless that it was even there. But the salad, sushi combo, inari, and bibimbap were enjoyable. Fish was fresh. Salad dressing was very garlicky but still good. The kimchi had no spice (sad for me but I'm sure other people are happy with that). Wish we could have finished the bibimbap but baby was too tired so we just took it to-go. The addition of Korean food on the menu is interesting. Great sushi spot in Upland. It's in a small shopping complex. There's a lot of parking and it was easy to find. The workers were very nice. We're so excited to share our first experience at this restaurant! We drove 1/2 hours to get there, and it was definitely worth it. My mom went with the sashimi combo lunch, and wow, they packed a ton for just $18. The chirashi plate was another steal--it came with uni, which was a delightful surprise at $28. I absolutely loved my Crazy Salmon (seared salmon). The Yellowtail Lover was okay, though. What really made our lunch special was the chef's generous "Tim" (no rice roll) that we got for free. It was absolutely delicious. Right now, it's tough to find a sushi spot that offers both amazing portions and fantastic service. We're definitely planning to return! read more

Before heading over to Barcuso for our friend's gig, we stopped by Ha Sushi in Upland for a Friday night dinner. The restaurant has a quaint, welcoming vibe--a blend of Japanese-Korean with K-pop playing on the TV screen and sppeakers. While the staff--shout out to Andrew--was incredibly friendly and attentive, even offering helpful suggestions and a delicious complimentary green tea ice cream, the sushi itself brought the experience down to a 3-star rating. The hamachi was a high point, but the Rainbow roll felt "mid"; the value is decent, but the quality definitely has room to iterate to success. The waitress was very welcoming and immediately seated our party of 9. We ordered quite a few dishes to share. The vegetable tempura was crispy and hot. Delicious. I was looking forward to the Yellowtail lovers roll. At first I was a bit wary of the onion, but it added to the overall flavor and worked well to balance the yellowtail without overpowering it. The Tteokboki was good and helped to switch out the flavors between the sushi rolls. I would also recommend the sashimi set. The presentation was very visually pleasing and the slices were nice and thick! I ordered their Veg tempera, Upland roll , Crab lover, Octopus roll, Spicy seafood ramen, Caterpillar roll, Pork katsu and some other sushi. It tasted amazing, I especially liked their caterpillar roll and their spicy seafood ramen. I feel like they put more avocado compared to other sushi restaurants. My husbands fav was their upland roll. This roll was kind of unique to this restaurant as I never tasted this roll type at other places.
