Food is not what we were expecting for a sushi place. We've been to a lot of sushi place and this is worst. Service is not good as well ,we havent sat down for few mins the lady already informed us that the sushi bar is closing at 9 when it was clearly posted on their site they closed midnight. My husband ordered bulgogi and its bland i can already tell from the looks of it that its not the bulgogi he is expecting & my husband had to ask for an eel sauce just so he can have some flavor in it. The rice in sushi albacore is fallen apart every time he use the chopsticks. The bake mussels seemed like it came out of the can. How come a big shell of mussels has 2 small pieces in it? Went during lunch time on a Friday afternoon and it was very quiet and peaceful. Service was good as it wasn't busy we didn't have to wait at all for anything. We had two of the spicy ramens with the California roll and the tuna roll. Not a huge fan of the ramen, as it does seem like it's cup of noodle ramen not fresh korean ramen. Update: they are still skimping in every way possible while finding ways to charge extra. If we eat at the restaurant, amazing. Ask for extra sauces - they won't charge. Food is fresh and portions are good. Picked up takeout tonight and my roll had more cream cheese than fish and they charged me for a side of spicy mayo to which it had MAYBE a tablespoon in the container. I went to Sake Sake 2 in Upland last night and watched something that honestly made my stomach turn. The owner was publicly scolding a waitress in front of everyone, and even grabbed her wrist like she was a child. It was beyond uncomfortable to watch. The table next to us noticed too and told her she was doing an amazing job because it was clear she didn't deserve that treatment from the man who was clearly the owner. I quietly asked her if she at least gets to keep her tips, she said no with a face that said so much more So just know, when you tip at this place, none of it goes to the hardworking staff actually serving you, which in california is technically illegal. I don't usually post things like this, but people should know when a business mistreats its employees. No one deserves to be humiliated or have their hard work taken from them. Came here after a day of shopping and we were sure glad we did. The staff speak Japanese which is a good sign. We were greeted and shown to our table right away. The restaurant had a good size menu and it took us awhile before we ordered. What we did order tasted really good and was very large portions. We ordered sashimi plate - it was very fresh and the pieces were large. We also had a few rolls - rainbow roll, salmon avocado x2, and eel roll. All the rolls were a good size - sorry no pix as we gobbled it up. We also ordered 2 bento boxes - one with beef bulgogi and california roll and the other chicken teriyaki and tempura. Both boxes were so huge that we couldn't finish. And they were really good too. Staff were super friendly and helpful. It looks like dine in is until 930p while togo is until 1230a. Throughout the years I've tried to give this additional chances, but I think they just got the absolutely last chance out of me. On my last visit I got the philly roll, eel roll, baked mussels and yellowtail collar. Both rolls were fat like burritos and with too much rice. The rolls fell apart as soon as you picked them up. Quality was even worst than when they served all you can eat. The eel roll had so much sauce that the rice was completely soaked in it and the eel itself was barely there. The baked mussels were the okay-est of the items ordered. The mussels were not fresh, which is fine... but there were a few chipped mussels that can be dangerous if you aren't careful. The yellowtail collar... absolutely burnt and inedible. It was so sadly dry. I was so disappointed because yellowtail collar is one of my favorites. It's suppose to be moist and fatty but all I can taste is burnt. The waitress was nice enough to remove it from my tab since I couldn't eat it. Front of the house staff was nice but the chefs have room for improvement. This is the first time I was at a sushi restaurant with Chinese sushi chefs. Their menu is very large and I think usually (before COVID) they have an all you can eat option but that was not available when we were there. We were able to get hot green tea AND cold green tea to start. The sushi was very good and it came out pretty fast.
