We went on a Saturday. Gabby was our waitress. She recommended the Pulpo, which was phenomenal 10 out of 10 I will be coming back specifically for this. We also got the aguas chile in SalsaNegra.. We did not like it. It was a little on the sweet side. We ordered a half dozen of Oysters which were partially frozen, but I'm sure if they weren't frozen, They would be very good. Me and my boyfriend came to try a new seafood restaurant in town , had high hopes with the ratings here on yelp. Got seated right away, music was great. Our waitress since the beginning was really rude. We didn't get a welcome to blah blah, she just asked if we wanted to order appetizers she seemed she was in a hurry or didn't have patience. She was walking away within the 20seconds after asking us. She brought the chips and guacamole we order then left. We got our food in a timely manner which that was good . When we got our shrimp cocktail, they didn't bring lemons . We asked her for ketchup and lemons . When she brought the lemons she just left them in the corner of the table without saying anything. Just like when you leave food to an animal. The whole time we were there not even the 3 waiters that were their came to ask if we good or we needed anything else. Just to mention the place was not even packed, their was only 2 families and us their. I got asked after I told them to bring the total if I wanted a refill on my cup.(after we finished eating and about to leave I get asked if I wanted a refill:/). I felt taken advantage of the waitress already had entered her percentage of tip. She expected my little tiny short glass of margarita was coming to $20. I felt rushed and pushed and put on display that I was to pay that high tip as she held her little credit card pod The lowest I could enter was 18%. It was a rip off then later I asked for a glass of water and she said no that she could only charge me for a bottle of water. I said I'm not gonna drink anymore. I am driving. I am alone. I want water now if she could please bring me a glass of water and she said absolutely not. We don't serve water then minutes later, an older man came to my table and was taking my little short drink away with water down ice. I told him not to take it and he kept trying to take it. I said this is the only water I have. I'm sucking on my ice cubes. I'm so thirsty. We ordered the Mitotero Molcajete and Mojarra Frita. OH MY GOODNESS. Honestly, after my first bite of the Mitotero Malcajete, I briefly thought I got transported to a beach side restaurant somewhere in Santa Barbara or Santa Monica. The freshness of the seafood is not to be trifled at!! The raw octopus, fish, and shrimp pieces tastes like THEY WERE PULLED FROM THE OCEAN MOMENTS AGO! I'm a seafood and sushi snob and I gave this place. 10/10 for their ingredient freshness rating. I told my boyfriend this was the best meal I had ALL WEEK. I was legit surprised there was such a restaurant of quality in Upland I ordered the Mojarra Frita myself. If you like fish, ORDER THIS! It had an incredible combination of crispy, flavorful fish while the inside was slightly undercooked, moist and juicy meat. I fell in love all over again It was even better with the bowl of lime they gave me. Came here for the Jenni Rivera show she was awesome but the restaurant itself was not that great. The service was slow with food and drinks at times I thought they forgot. The area got really hot we were fanning ourselves it felt cooler in the bar and bathroom area but not where the main seats are at and we were sitting right under the vent. The drinks were bonk! We had high hopes for this place. The place is nice and had live music, which was a plus. There were only three booths taken and three friendly waitresses serving. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. We waited approximately 15 minutes to have our drink order taken. Another ten minutes passed for our water and soda to show up. Finally we place our order and appetizer (guacamole) shows up 25 minutes later. Another 20 minutes pass and finally get our food. I hope it was worth the wait!!! The guacamole was good, but not $15 good. We had some sushi where the sashimi was on the warm side and the cream cheese was also warm. The tuna did not taste fresh. They were supposed to be cold rolls. Perhaps the rolls just sat near a heat lamp. Who knows... We also had a salmon plate which was decent. However, the side salad was wilted with a vinaigrette. All this for over $100 (with tip) did not sit well. Perhaps the alcoholic drinks are awesome. But I won't be going back. Sorry. read more

My in laws took me here for a weekend brunch. It was before dinner rush so we got seated right away. We ordered a few menu options since it was our first time. Everybody enjoyed the octopus with potatoes and the enchiladas. The combo plate with 5-6 fresh fish option and oyster shooter was such a good deal for a group - although for my taste the oyster shooter wasn't hitting the spot.
