Just had two birria quesatacos. The tortillas were soggy, and one of the tacos had over half the "meat" of just fat and ligaments. It's was gross and had to spit it out. Good thing I was home. Okay so found this place randomly, I paid almost 50$ for a birria burrito with extra cheese and birria ramen with extra ramen, did they add it? Yeah No, and 2 Mexican cokes, let me start off with the coke was the best part of my meal. The birria was dryer than my knee caps! Salty as well. Stopped by this spot for lunch and had an awesome time! You order your food at a kiosk, which is great because it shows pictures of all the menu items--super helpful. We went for the upland burrito, a mix of carne asada and al pastor. It was absolutely delicious and enormous! We also got the surf and turf fries, and they were amazing--super saucy with nacho cheese goodness. I would've given it 5 stars but the online ordering/phone issues I went through gives it 4 stars. Couldn't process the whole order online because it didn't give me options to add what meat I wanted to my fries so I left it in the comment box, tried to call to verify our order but had to deal with a robot & just couldn't get through the line to the store. This review is based on my last visit. The service was great. People are friendly. Ambience is nice, clean, and there is nice music playing. The food, I was hankering for a steak and shrimp burrito. I want some delicious. I have been here before and have gotten their queso birria and they were pretty good. Those I would give a solid 7.6. But this review id on their surf and turf burrito. Let me start off by listing the positives: A burrito was large. It had shrimp (which was cooked to perfection and there were enough in the burrito to keep me happy Carne asada (the kind you cook on a griddle, so it lacks the smokey flavor, but it was tender from what I can tell) Rice, pico de gallo, and crema. The bad: The seasonIng. A little too exuberant with the salt. I think this was due to an excessive amount of the chipotle crema. The burrito was extremely salty to the point where I had to stop after getting half through. In started picking out and eating the shrimp and steak. But it's way too salty. The combination of the extreme saltiness and the chpotle crema, all the flavors all blended together. I could tell when I was eating shrimp because of the texture in the bite, but was this asada or tortilla, way to much crema. We need to be able to taste the steak and the shrimp. The rice, the chipotle crema, and the cheese are garnishes to the burrito, not the main event. The price was just over $18. If it was a good burrito it would be justified, but it was not and I was only able to consume 1/2 of it. I would not order again as listed in the menu. Last year when my son was taking Spanish 1 he was trying to say a word but kept saying "fuego" and arguing w/ us the definition to the word. Ever since then, we have been saying we were going to try this place due to the name. My husband makes a point to point out all businesses and titles of anything with the name "fuego" in it. We finally went here today for late lunch. My husband & I had the quesabirria meal and it was quite yummy. I did wish it had a bit more cheesiness to it but I think my stomach thanked the chef. The pineapple juice helped wash the yummy food down. My son had the carne asada quesadilla which he enjoyed going down. But it was a bit too cheesy for him because he paid the price afterwards. The chance we take when we are lactose intolerant and love cheesy foods. It was a late lunch so the place was empty and we had quick service. I wish I liked it, especially considering I just moved out here and there isn't a lot of birria spots and this is the only one that pops up on Yelp. So I was craving birria fries. I got that. I was a bit iffy when I read that it has nacho cheese...and I should have listened to my instincts. I wish they had options for the kind of cheese that goes on it? and also they used Curley fries..I think regular straight cut fries would be better cus it doesn't have that breading that Curley fries has. The carne asada plate I ordered was a major disappointment. The meat lacked flavor and looked like it was past its prime - it definitely didn't taste fresh at all. To put it bluntly, it tasted abysmal. A red flag for me was their $0.89 credit card surcharge. For businesses to do this, it usually means they're a very small operation without much wiggle room in their margins. As a consumer, this suggests to me that they might be cutting corners on ingredients, particularly the meats. Overall, the experience was underwhelming, especially considering the price point.
