Taquitos
Rachel S.

The rice and beans really good but the taquitos were nasty , we complained and they said that's because they were fried but I've never had taquitos look like this , and my friend's tacos were the same like they were cooked in dirty oil .

Always while I'm in upland we need to stop and eat here. Customer service is always on point and the food is always good. Chips and salsa are always flavorful Tortillas soup is delicious Burrito flavorful and big Birria plate so good.

Combination Fajitas (Chicken, steak and shrimp) for 2.

I was really surprised how good the food was at this place. I wasn't expecting it at all. It's a big restaurant in a strip mall with lots of parking. It gets very very live and busy. Lots of people. Has an old vibe to it. I think it's also family owned. Our waiter was just awesome. Unfortunately I forgot his name because it's been a few months since I was there (yes, my review is late but better late than never). My friend took me here for dinner. It was both our first time. We ordered the combination fajitas (steak, shrimp and chicken) for 2. We each got our own plate of rice, beans + fixings and tortillas of our choice. While we waited, we were served with chips and salsa and we order Cadillac margaritas and they were not only yummy, but strong and not over priced either. Chips came with 2 salsa's both good, one hotter than the other. Our fajitas came with a very good made from scratch guacamole and a pico de gallo. Walking into the restaurant and to our table, it smelled so good as we passed the other tables of customers already eating. Music plays in the background but they also have a small stage so they must have a DJ or live music on other nights. Service was excellent and our waiter made us feel like he could customize anything and everything without making us feel guilty about it. He also made great recommendations and made us feel very comfortable. Everyone in the restaurant seemed to be enjoying their drinks, food and the music just as we were. My girlfriend and I had a great time. Portions were big, good value and we had leftovers to bring home. Everything was perfect. I have no complaints about this place and I'll definitely return here when I want good Mexican food, drinks and good music to listen to. I think I'll bring my mom and son here next time.

One of my fav sit down Mexican restaurants! Warm crispy tortilla chips with homemade salsa, generous portions enough for 2 meals, and superb service! I sampled all my friends meals too, and they were delicious! I'm definitely getting the birria combo next time. As a birder, I also loved all the homage to parrots throughout the restaurant.

I love perico so MUCH and this is not biased. I started coming here as a teen with my family but have grown to love this place and make it a staple in my restaurant rotation lol The pricing has changed but I'll still be coming here with no complaints. You get so much food that technically you have a meal for the next day anyways! The servers are always so sweet and attentive, I never go without my refill lol 10/10 recommend!

Service is quick and efficient. Margaritas and michiladas are great here. Food doesn't disappoint either. Generous portions and great flavor here. The fajitas were delicious and will definitely be coming back.

Nice cold Michelada.

El Perico is a spot I've been to before, but it had been a while, so I decided to swing by for lunch. Walking in, it was pretty quiet--almost eerily so for lunchtime. Not much staff was around, including the bartender, who apparently doesn't come in until mid-day. By the time I left, the bar area had come to life with patrons eagerly waiting for drinks. On this visit I ordered three carnitas and asada tacos, priced at $6 each, and quickly realized I'd overcommitted. I would have been fine with just two. These are no ordinary tacos--they're full-on meal tacos. Each one came on a full-sized corn tortilla piled high with meat. Honestly, you could split one taco into two and still be satisfied. Pro tip: bring your appetite or a friend who doesn't mind sharing. The carnitas were definitely the star--juicy, flavorful, and tender. The asada was fine, but it just couldn't compete with the carnitas. The service was decent, though I found myself waiting a little longer than I'd like for drink refills. Overall, El Perico serves up solid food with portions that could feed a small army. Just be prepared to wait a bit if you're thirsty, and maybe time your visit for when the bartender clocks in!

Caldo El Perico A lot sea food on this and was delicious

During our road trip from Yosemite to Arizona, we made a highly recommended stop here. The cuisine was delicious with a generous portions at a reasonable price, and we intend to return, hopefully to sample some of the enticing beverages listed on the menu. The service was great and we also enjoyed the music.

The food is excellent! The portions are huge! The drinks are amazing! The staff is 10/10. I wish I had time to go every day to try a new item. Btw.. the chicken mole...yummy (friend had it.)

No frills, amazing homey vibes, authentic delicious Mexican food. When that food is so fresh, piping hot, flavorful, juicy, tender, and delicious...you can't beat that feeling of joy and comfort. Hits the spot everytime! This little hole-in-the-wall is one of the best out there! I love their Steak Picado, Carnitas, and Camarones Al Mojo De Ajo. Their margaritas are a good size and taste just right. This place will soothe your craving and soul...feels like Mexiacn Soul food.

2 years after my last review and the same holds true: service remains wonderful, the food is still consistent and delicious, and thr ambiance is cause and friendly. This spot is still one of our go to places for good mexican food. A must for each visit: the tables ideas guacamole. Don't visit without it.

Chile Relleno

Where should i start, at first i thought it was a joke than realized they were extremely serious about what a Chile Relleno is supposed to be , Authentic Mexican dishes matter when visiting a restaurant that is selling Mexican Food not sure where they think this is a good dish but it was not . I ordered the Chile Relleno with a chicken taco , All i basically got was a bunch of egg that i moved to the side as i couldn't not find it on my plate , once i did as you can see in the picture that was all that was inside i had not even taken one bite and this tiny little peace was The Chile Relleno all i got was that's how we make them here but darling what Chile Relleno this is just a piece of a different type of chile and you are just calling it a chile relleno, mind the type of Chile that was used how are you going to serve that to someone ??? The taquitos were more like flautas and soggy not sure what's going on here i think the dishes need to be looked into will not be returning

The portions were ok, and the margarita was large and refreshing and good actually, but I had to ask for it 3x, but the food itself was only okay. Nothing we ordered stood out enough to make us want to return. We sat down and it wasn't busy. 15 min later they came and took our order. The hostess that came to us first was attentive he was really the only one. The biggest disappointment was the customer service. Throughout our entire visit, there was very little attention from all staff. We rarely saw our server, drinks went unrefilled longer than they should have, and there was no effort to check in and see how our meal was. I never once was asked if I would like another margarita. Hospitality can make a huge difference, and unfortunately it was lacking here. This is huge for me in a sit down. The restaurant has a fun sports-bar atmosphere with plenty of TVs, but the restroom also needed attention and wasn't as clean as expected. Overall, not a terrible experience, but not one I'd go out of my way to repeat at all. There are too many great Mexican restaurants in the area for this one to make it back onto my regular rotation. Probably won't be returning at all.

We will definitely return when we next need a taste of the sea.

The burrito is as big as my arm. The sample platter which had nachos, taquitos, and cheese sticks was super delicious. The chips they used for nachos was totally thicker than the ones they give as an appetizer which I found interesting. A little bummer that they weren't willing to give refills on the chips and salsa. I feel like they did it bottomless when we went the last year. Perhaps times are tough. It also feels like service quality dipped since last year. Staff were less friendly and excited. We were there around 6:30 and we were pretty much the only customer there when we arrived. So it was a bit hard to stomach on how slow water refills were.
