Mom and pop type Mexican restaurant located in a strip mall in Rancho Cucamonga. It's not a large space so it has a small cafe feel to it and there is a bar and a couple of TVs so has a small sports bar hybrid vibe to it. The service is friendly and the menu has a good variety with classics and combo plates as well as a few specialties. One fun aspect I would like to point out: if you order the guacamole, they make it fresh for you tableside. For dinner, I ordered the enchilada platter. I thought it was really tasty and it hit the spot with the rice, beans, and accoutrements. I can't remember which cocktail I ordered, but I remember it being tasty and served in a fun cup. I'm a big fan of neighborhood spots like this. Before we got here, I was literally talking to my friend about a place that I would go as a kid for my birthday and my brother's birthdays. They had great combo plates and they would let us wear a big sombrero. Well, this place literally does that lol. I got to wear a sombrero and they gave me a birthday flan.
Dinner was fantastic everything was cooked with so much flavors! Served nice and hot and the presentations looked amazing it was a lot of food. The customer service absolutely stellar! Truly attentive kind-hearted and helpful quick to assist us. Ambience was beautiful the bathroom was cleaned the whole place is very friendly and appealing. The owner and the daughter were working and they were truly friendly and helpful made some really good tasteful recommendations. Celebrating our friend's birthday! Definitely recommend
Came here on a whim. We were seated and serviced right away. Love the complimentary chips and salsa when you sit down. Especially the chips! It's not those break your teeth kinda chips! We ordered the following: -Chicken Burrito - 1/5 - no flavor and less shredded chicken - I give it a 1 because the size of the burrito is big. -Steak Picado - 4/5 - Good -Steak, Shrimp and Chicken Plate - 3/5 - it tasted okay. I think it's the lack of seasoning. -Fresh Guac - 5/5 - delish! We really wanted to love the food but we couldn't. But! I would still come back and give it another shot. This time I'll try the Green Verde Pozole! Our waiter/waitress are all so nice as well and fast service!
Amazing Pozole Verde and Michelada's Staff is friendly and very professional! I can't wait to go back. I think I'll be dreaming about the Pozole Verde! Plenty of spacious seating with TV's and a Huge Bar! I almost don't want to give this one away. Enjoy it! Trust me you will love this restaurant!
We stopped by El Mescalito after hiking the Etiwanda Waterfall, found it on Google, and WOW what a great decision! My friend and I started with their Café de la Olla, and OMG... it was absolutely amazing rich, aromatic, and hands down the best I've ever had! I loved it so much I ended up having two cups For food, we shared the Sopes Trio (chicken, beef, and pork) and the Fajitas Trio (shrimp, beef, and chicken), which came with beans, rice, guacamole, and salad everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. We also ordered fresh guacamole, and Ramiro made it right in front of us he was amazing! So friendly and full of positive energy, he made the experience even better. Estephanie took care of us throughout our meal, always making sure we had everything we needed. Super sweet, attentive, and always smiling outstanding service all around! The restaurant is beautiful with great Latin music, three TVs (I even caught a soccer game while eating ), and spotless bathrooms, which I always appreciate. Highly recommend this place! Whether you're coming after a hike or just craving authentic, delicious Mexican food El Mescalito is a must-try!
Came early on a Sunday morning, about 9am. It was not busy yet at all. The waitress was nice and it was just my friend and I. Inside it is cute and they have booths and tables for eating inside. There is no outside seating. I came across the place on Yelp and I am always looking for some good reviews on ichilaquiles. Sadly, these very much lacked in flavor and spicyness. I also expected a different type of carne asada this asada tasted more like a ground beef. They also didn't ask how I wanted my eggs and that's my fault too for not asking. Usually restaurants ask how you want the eggs on the chilaquiles. My friend ordered the same thing and thought the same as I did. The 2 stars are for the service , which was fast and friendly. The horchata tasted good and the potatoes they served were good I do think they could have been cooked a bit more. They also give chips and salsa when dinning in but the salsa tasted more like a pico de gallo not spicy or anything. Maybe I need to try something different and it will be better.
I've been here a few times, the food was good each time the steak is a little chewy but flavorful. The drinks are good. The food comes out fast. The service was great. They've kept things pretty consistent. It's a cute restaurant perfect for quick dine in Mexican food. I will definitely keep putting them on my taco Tuesday rounds.
Absolutely delicious! I was greeted promptly with a smile, in fact the smiles kept coming. The service was amazing. I ordered an Al Pastor Quesadilla, and it was pretty much perfect. The temperature, the savor from the seasoned pork, the melted cheese- a satisfying cohesion of flavor. I could taste the cilantro, the onions, everything. The salsa was fresh, I wish I ordered more. It also came with Avocado, which I don't eat, sour cream and a red a green sauce-which I enjoyed. Normally, I never order Mexican food to go, UNLESS it's something small so I can enjoy it in the car. I was surprised by the fact that by the time I got to my destination, the temp was still on point. It was a nice portion, for it to be an appetizer. The tortilla chips were light, crispy and I could eat them by themselves. It's a nice restaurant, clean and in line with that Mexican vibe I'm familiar with. An excellent experience overall. I look forward to more visits. Go off El Mezcalito, and keep those smiles!

The moment we walked in the door, we were seated immediately. I have very friendly staff.. service was amazing. The food was delicious. The margaritas and the other drink looks absolutely amazing. Too bad I was driving.. if I've ever in town again I would definitely come back here. It's a small place but the food was wonderful and the staff was wonderful..
We came here trying to find a New Mexican food restaurant since we are new to the area and we were not disappointed! Happy hour is definite steal as well, we got a quesadilla and added grilled chicken. The chicken itself is super juicy and soft, it pairs well with the cheese inside. The waitress was very attentive to us if we needed refills she came by before we even had to ask. We both got two item combos, one with double enchilada and the other with 1 enchilada and 1 potato taco. Such good flavors with these meals we can't wait to come back and try other things! Inside is very clean and the music playing isn't overly loud so ur not being bothered by loud noises while trying to enjoy your meal.
I've been here before and service has been good in the past. Today I went and received the worst service ever. The restaurant wasn't even busy and they had a ton of employees. I didn't get the drink I ordered, I was ignored throughout my meal for refills. My order was messed up. When I wanted to leave , it felt like I was being ignored for a container to take my leftover meal home. All the employees were just gathering together and just talking. See attached photograph. I don't think I will be coming back here again.

Saw some solid reviews on this spot so I gave it a shot. They were reviews in Rancho Cucamonga so I kind of already had a this hunch, kind of knew it was some mid. Anyway, I ordered some chicken mole with rice and beans. The mole wasn't really the bomb quality mole your abuela makes or that you get at a solid authentic spot. Stopped in for a Sunday breakfast. The food was good, the service was friendly and attentive, but I am a customer for life because of the guacamole made at the table and the fresh chicharrones that made cracking sounds when dipped in the salsa and guacamole. So good. We also enjoyed watching the Spain vs. England match and the restaurant's nice decor. read more

I am so happy to report they have happy hour from M-Th 2-5pm. 1/2 off appetizers and margaritas for $8 . The taquitos and flautas werenso good. Orlando made the guacamole and he did a great job. The taste was lemony!!! So excited to find a new place to enjoy with my friends! So far it is nice an quiet and not too busy. I think the happy hour menu is going to change that! Decided to check this spot out with a girl friend while we caught up. We were seating right away and were offered a booster seat for my friends son. The hostess was really sweet and very attentive. Their menu had a great selection of traditional mexican plates. I got the chilaquiles with carnitas on the side and had no regrets! they also make the guacamole right in front of you which was a cool. food was tasteful, well seasoned, and a great portions. I will say I do feel like they could've done a little better in the service area once the food was brought out. we were asked if we wanted boxes to go well before we were done eating and didn't really get asked for a refill/second drink. No biggie, it was overall a good experience and will definitely go back to try other plates. read more

Small little Mexican restaurant but the food and service make up for size. Had the "house" chicken fajitas, table side guacamole and chicharrones. Everything was delicious and service superb. Let me say though, BEST chicharrones we have ever had and made super fresh. I'd go back for that and the guacamole. read more
