Fun drinks
Brian V.

Mom and pop type Mexican restaurant located in a strip mall in Rancho Cucamonga. It's not a large space so it has a small cafe feel to it and there is a bar and a couple of TVs so has a small sports bar hybrid vibe to it. The service is friendly and the menu has a good variety with classics and combo plates as well as a few specialties. One fun aspect I would like to point out: if you order the guacamole, they make it fresh for you tableside. For dinner, I ordered the enchilada platter. I thought it was really tasty and it hit the spot with the rice, beans, and accoutrements. I can't remember which cocktail I ordered, but I remember it being tasty and served in a fun cup. I'm a big fan of neighborhood spots like this. Before we got here, I was literally talking to my friend about a place that I would go as a kid for my birthday and my brother's birthdays. They had great combo plates and they would let us wear a big sombrero. Well, this place literally does that lol. I got to wear a sombrero and they gave me a birthday flan.

Micheladas were a great choice!

Great customer service, good music, delicious foods and drinks, great environment overall. Will definitely be back!

Amazing Pozole Verde and Michelada's Staff is friendly and very professional! I can't wait to go back. I think I'll be dreaming about the Pozole Verde! Plenty of spacious seating with TV's and a Huge Bar! I almost don't want to give this one away. Enjoy it! Trust me you will love this restaurant!

I've been here a few times, the food was good each time the steak is a little chewy but flavorful. The drinks are good. The food comes out fast. The service was great. They've kept things pretty consistent. It's a cute restaurant perfect for quick dine in Mexican food. I will definitely keep putting them on my taco Tuesday rounds.

Two item combo double enchilada

We came here trying to find a New Mexican food restaurant since we are new to the area and we were not disappointed! Happy hour is definite steal as well, we got a quesadilla and added grilled chicken. The chicken itself is super juicy and soft, it pairs well with the cheese inside. The waitress was very attentive to us if we needed refills she came by before we even had to ask. We both got two item combos, one with double enchilada and the other with 1 enchilada and 1 potato taco. Such good flavors with these meals we can't wait to come back and try other things! Inside is very clean and the music playing isn't overly loud so ur not being bothered by loud noises while trying to enjoy your meal.

Fajita Trio (Shrimp, Meat & Chicken)

We stopped by El Mescalito after hiking the Etiwanda Waterfall, found it on Google, and WOW what a great decision! My friend and I started with their Café de la Olla, and OMG... it was absolutely amazing rich, aromatic, and hands down the best I've ever had! I loved it so much I ended up having two cups For food, we shared the Sopes Trio (chicken, beef, and pork) and the Fajitas Trio (shrimp, beef, and chicken), which came with beans, rice, guacamole, and salad everything was flavorful and perfectly cooked. We also ordered fresh guacamole, and Ramiro made it right in front of us he was amazing! So friendly and full of positive energy, he made the experience even better. Estephanie took care of us throughout our meal, always making sure we had everything we needed. Super sweet, attentive, and always smiling outstanding service all around! The restaurant is beautiful with great Latin music, three TVs (I even caught a soccer game while eating ), and spotless bathrooms, which I always appreciate. Highly recommend this place! Whether you're coming after a hike or just craving authentic, delicious Mexican food El Mescalito is a must-try!

Came early on a Sunday morning, about 9am. It was not busy yet at all. The waitress was nice and it was just my friend and I. Inside it is cute and they have booths and tables for eating inside. There is no outside seating. I came across the place on Yelp and I am always looking for some good reviews on ichilaquiles. Sadly, these very much lacked in flavor and spicyness. I also expected a different type of carne asada this asada tasted more like a ground beef. They also didn't ask how I wanted my eggs and that's my fault too for not asking. Usually restaurants ask how you want the eggs on the chilaquiles. My friend ordered the same thing and thought the same as I did. The 2 stars are for the service , which was fast and friendly. The horchata tasted good and the potatoes they served were good I do think they could have been cooked a bit more. They also give chips and salsa when dinning in but the salsa tasted more like a pico de gallo not spicy or anything. Maybe I need to try something different and it will be better.

Carnitas plate

Came here with my family when my mom was in town. I ordered the carnitas which were delicious. My husband was not too fond of his carne asada quesadilla, only because he's super particular about his asada. He said it could have used more flavor and crisp. My mom absolutely loved her shrimp fajitas plate, that came out steaming. Our three kids (teenagers) also enjoyed their meals. I would definitely come back since it's local with friendly and attentive staff.

This is our, hands down, favorite place to have some delicious Mexican dishes...but TONIGHT we learned something new... El Mezcalito is featuring a $3 Fish Tacos special every Wednesday, and WOW. Can't say I've ever had one this delicious. Definitely don't miss out on this one!

Yummy but wish it was more spicy

Food was pretty good. My only wish is they had more spice in the salsa and meat. Or maybe they have an option for a spicier salsa or something. Service was great and cute little remodel from the old grazianos

Was craving a good Mexican breakfast place and found this gem in Rancho. Couldn't have been happier. Great food and great service. Will be returning.

Mole Lunch

Saw some solid reviews on this spot so I gave it a shot. They were reviews in Rancho Cucamonga so I kind of already had a this hunch, kind of knew it was some mid. Anyway, I ordered some chicken mole with rice and beans. The mole wasn't really the bomb quality mole your abuela makes or that you get at a solid authentic spot. It was lacking the salsa and the flavor. The rice was decent, cooked correctly, the beans were mediocre, nothing to rave about. Chicken Mole: 6.7 Rice: 7.2 Beans: 7.0

Table side Guacamole - amazing
Robert N.

Stopped in for a Sunday breakfast. The food was good, the service was friendly and attentive, but I am a customer for life because of the guacamole made at the table and the fresh chicharrones that made cracking sounds when dipped in the salsa and guacamole. So good. We also enjoyed watching the Spain vs. England match and the restaurant's nice decor.

My review is based on the rooftop bar. We went last night and my first impression was "it's sooo…read morepretty". It's got a nice view, nice ambiance, good 90's-2000s music and then towards the end of the night some Bad Bunny and Spanish rock, It had comfortable seating options. We only came here for drinks and to watch the sunset. Our server was so kind, friendly, and patient (wish I got her name). My husband wasn't sure what he wanted and she offered a few suggestions that were pretty tasty. She also kept checking in on us even though we weren't ordering food. The night ended with us watching the fireworks from ONT field. Overall a great experience! Highly recommend trying.

I normally give credit where credit is due, but this restaurant completely ruined our Mother's Day…read morebrunch. We had a 1:00 PM reservation and were told after checking in that the wait would only be 20-30 minutes. We ended up waiting about 40 minutes and were then seated at a tiny table for six people with the sun directly hitting us the entire time. Our waitress greeted us with only one menu and said she didn't have any more. We asked about bottomless mimosas and she responded, "I don't know, I saw one person doing it but I don't think so." How does a server not know whether the restaurant offers bottomless mimosas? We ordered drinks almost immediately after being seated, but they didn't arrive until 2:10 PM. It is over an hour later , while tables seated after us already had theirs. The food service was even worse: 2:09 PM: only 1 out of 6 meals arrived No silverware or napkins were provided We had to ask another server, who placed loose forks and knives directly on the table and said he only had 3 napkins 2:30 pm only 2 more plates came out Another plate arrived later by 2:33pm while 2 people still had no food at all By the time my food arrived, the waffle was dry and stiff, and the "chicken and waffles" looked like one chicken strip cut into four tiny pieces. And was $22. My son's burger came out much later, and my husband's food didn't arrive until 2:50 PM which was another $22 dry chicken and waffle plate. At that point we asked for the manager because our entire Mother's Day brunch had been spent waiting while everyone ate separately. The manager seemed completely unconcerned and said someone would handle it only after my mom asked what was he planning on doing besides apologizing as we were still missing a plate. Meanwhile, our waitress barely checked on us unless we flagged her down ourselves. No refills, no silverware, no urgency, and constant "your food is coming in two seconds" excuses. The food itself was disappointing too. Chicken and waffle Portions were tiny, flavors were off, and even the horchata colada tasted nothing like horchata. This was actually our second bad experience here. We previously came for Taco Tuesday and experienced similar disorganization, but decided to give the restaurant another chance. Huge mistake. Parking is terrible, the waiting area is overcrowded, and the restaurant felt completely unprepared and understaffed for a holiday they should have planned for. But we were sitting waiting for a drink. I heard other waitresses freaking out telling people Dont Give Out lunch menus sad that they can't even handle brunch. Honestly, you're better off going somewhere like The Broken Yolk Cafe if you want decent brunch service and to actually enjoy your meal together. Sad that a place trying to present itself as high-end. If you're gonna boast about being the first rooftop in Rancho, your service and your food and your drinks better be good. Completely ruined our Mother's Day. We will never return! The 20% off a $220 bill was paid right back at the waitress tip which, if my family hadn't paid, I would've gave her nothing. Isn't your waitress supposed to see your table that one person has food for half an hour shouldn't she go back and ask shouldn't your waitress see if you have your drinks within 40 minutes shouldn't your waitress know what you serve there shouldn't your waitress check on her tables completely ridiculous. A single rose does not make up for horrible service. I included pictures with time stamps
