Everything was delicious here! From the miso soup, sashimi salad, rolls and nigiri sushi, everything was delicious and the service here was excellent! Great service and chef! The ambiance is perfect and cozy. They provide great customer service and even greater food. 100% recommend for anyone in the Montclair, IE Area!

Don't let the old-school vibe fool you--sushi is incredibly fresh and the service surprised me in the best way. Our server was attentive and genuinely cared about our experience. Solid spot, will be back.

Decided to try out Koyi cause I pass by it all the time and I'm always down to try new things. As far as the all you can eat experience, I would say it was pretty average. You get 3 rounds and you can select different tiers of AYCE. The service was very quick (but then again it wasn't super packed) and my waitress was doing an amazing job. She was the only one working the floor and she did awesome making sure everyone was being attended to. Koyi is a small space so it doesn't seat very much. If you're coming with a large party, I might try to call in advance to gauge out the environment. Now as far as the food is concerned, it met my expectations and while it didn't blow my mind, it hit the spot. What I really appreciated was that their meat to rice ratio which made the price worth it. Overall, I'd recommend Koyi if you're looking for a quick bite.

Absolutely one of the best all-you-can-eat sushi spots I've been to. The fish was incredibly fresh and everything tasted amazing. The quality was surprisingly high for the price. Service was friendly and the restaurant was clean and comfortable. Definitely coming back and highly recommend!

I am always hunting for new sushi places to try, so when I heard sushi VIP was under new ownership with a new name of Koyi Sushi, I was very excited to try it! The sushi was delicious! The fish tasted very fresh and the fish to rice ratio was very good! I loved that they had specialty options like the blue fin tuna and giant scallops to try! We tried two of the no rice rolls which were both good but had a bit too much sauce for my liking. The same went for the fried avocado bites. Delicious, but a touch too saucy- but I have no doubt that if you requested less sauce that they would be happy to oblige. The service was good and the waiters were very polite. One thing to note is if you have sensitive ears like me, don't sit below one of the TVs since it can get a bit loud. The actual vibe of the restaurant was okay. Some of the lightbulbs were mismatched (white light vs warm light) and not much in terms of atmosphere. I also liked the fact that their menus had pictures of the rolls, but the pictures are so small they are very difficult to see. The menu itself did have quite a bit of variety. One thing to note is that you order the individual pieces, not the typical sets when it comes to nigiri. (If you order 1 salmon nigiri, you will get 1 individual nigiri). I liked this because it lets you order odd number. They do not allow half orders for the AYCE. Overall I really enjoyed Koyi Sushi much more than I did under its previous owners! The sushi was excellent and I look forward to going back soon. Date of visit: 06/01/25

Fantastic sushi spot and our new favorite! We've been getting tired of the high bill and low quality sushi we'd been getting at sushi Martini, so we're very happy to have found this spot. Sushi is of a good quality, with excellent rice - fish ratios. They have a wide selection on the menu, and the non-rice rolls are a nice inclusion. Only complaint is the heavy use of sauce, but I'm sure the chefs will be happy to adjust at your request. The chefs at the bar are very welcoming, and you can feel their appreciation/passion for their restaurant! Staff/servers less so, but +1 to the chefs. Ambiance is a bit odd, you can definitely feel like the place is still getting its vibe settled, lighting needs work, but I'm excited to see this place grow.

This place is really new and I love trying out new places! The girl working the front, I didn't get her name was really nice and really on point with checking on us. She explained the menu to us and kept checking back to make sure we had everything we needed. The dishes came out quick and the kitchen items were really hot and fresh. The fish to rice ratio is so good here. The rice is so small and I love when places do that because they aren't trying to fill you up with rice. Its in a decent sized plaza with tons of parking but it can get packed due to all the establishments open. I'm always looking for new AYCE places so I'm glad I found this spot.

Good place to try for ayce sushi! Lunch was $29.95, was a bit adamant based on reviews but after trying it for myself it was a nice time. Nigiri was good, the roll selections were nice - mango salmon was our favorite. They had some no rice rolls & appetizer options as well. Waiter checked up on us and refilled our water, place was nice and spacious. They do close at 3:30 and reopen 5 PM on the weekdays so make a note to come before 3 for ayce. Overall would come again :)

Miso soup was lukewarm and had no tofu or seaweed Baked mussels were bland in flavor Sunomuno Cucumber salad wasn't good--Cucumbers were opaque and the sweet vinegar taste was overwhelming Spicy scallop handroll was definitely spicy, but in a good way Tuna sushi was mild in flavor Octopus sushi was clean in flavor and big pieces Squid sushi was also clean flavor and not overly chewy Salmon was very lean, but good Sweet shrimp sushi was chewy and underwhelming Imitation crab did not have enough mayo Mackerel was overcooked Yellowtail sushi was the best we got--flavorful and tender Rice was a bit dry Food overall rating: 5.3 Customer service good Service fast Atmosphere nice - calming music Cleanliness very subpar 5.6 overall scoring

We visited Koi Sushi today. Upon arrival, we observed that the establishment was in its soft opening phase, and order fulfillment ceased at 8:30 PM. It is in the old sushi v. I. P building. We received notification that the grand opening is planned in one month and Operating hours will extend until 11:30 PM. We ordered a few items from the appetizer menu and if you rolls for our first round We received encouragement to increase our order due to the kitchen's impending closure within the hour. However, their all-you-can-eat policy stipulates a $2 per piece charge for any leftover sushi. Therefore, we exercised restraint in our order volume. We sampled their sashimi, traditional sushi, tempura, and baked selections. All items were freshly prepared and served promptly. We also found their hot tea to be quite palatable. Our server demonstrated extensive menu knowledge and maintained a professional and courteous demeanor. With our table and the ones around us. I would appreciate it if more servers provided the same level of service as she did. Ample parking is available despite the shopping center's high traffic volume. The new ownership appears to have implemented positive changes. A highly recommended establishment.

Eyes bigger than stomach? Welcome to Round One at Koyi. Took the fam for the all-you-can-eat sushi marathon--and holy wasabi, we got wiped out in the first round. Everything was that good. Crispy tempura, sashimi so fresh it practically swims off the plate, and specialty rolls that looked like sushi art gallery pieces. Service was lightning-quick and staff kept the vibes high, so by the end we were full, happy, and already planning our rematch. Fair warning: come hungry, but maybe pace yourself--Koyi plays for keeps.

If you're looking for a new sushi spot to check out in the Inland Empire, check out Koyi Sushi in the city of Montclair From solid appetizers like chicken wings and miso soup to fresh sushi like pepper salmon, bluefin tuna, and jumbo scallops, they have something for everybody to enjoy They have 2 set menus starting at $33.95 for lunch, $38.95 for dinner, and a happy hour special for just $24.95. They're still new and figuring things out, but it has potential!

I couldn't resist, but to order the best sushi rolls, sushi + ramen bowls, and iced green tea. Let's just say I was hungry LOL. Everything was amazing! Seaweed salad was the best I've ever had. Between the two sushi rolls, I enjoyed the Carribean Roll more. I think it was the sweet onion that put it over the top. TASTY! Chirashi Bowl had fresh fishes in good cuts. YUM! Ramen Bowl had savory broth and tender chashu pork with all my favorite toppings. DELISH! Refreshing Iced Green Tea was in a large glass. YAY! I dined liked a queen. I would do it again. Of course, I had to pack the leftovers to-go plus order some to-go for my daughters. Overall dining experience was wonderful. Definitely would come back again. 6pm, Friday, September 19, 2025…read more It was hopping in downtown Claremont. My date had a certain place in mind though... House of Pong Asian Fusion. It was my first visit here but it won't be my last. I had already did my browsing of what's on the menu. I joined in on the crispy tofu for the appetizer and the crispy salmon skin salad. When we walked in it was busy. The Dodger game was on at the bar. There were maybe three open tables at most. We were seated at their small table against the wall. A cozy table for two. We were greeted by our friendly server, she brought the menus and ask us about drinks to start. I've water all around, haha. She came back with our water. Ooh, tasted like cucumber water... Refreshing. While my lady was deciding, I ordered: crispy tofu appetizer (presented in a small dish, about 10-12 pieces of hot, crispy cubes of golden tofu with a dipping sauce) and the salmon skin salad for my entree. The salad was an ample sized serving to share between the two of us. The salmon skin was julienned and were crispy little clumps like miniature fishy hash browns. Very crispy and tasty salad that included sliced tomatoes, cucumber, and scallions on mixed greens. My date ordered the charshu ramen. We shared our plates. The ramen was very tasty. The noodles had a good chew, not over cooked. Mmm, that was delicious. The robotic server was kitchy and cute. Maybe it does assist them with delivering plates to the table but the human server was observed transferring them from the bot to the table. For our table, we had our food delivered in stages not at the same time. The crispy tofu arrived first, then the ramen, and several minutes later came the salmon skin salad. Not a deal breaker but noticed. Food was good. Service was okay, could be better.
