Overall: delicious fresh sashimi! The tuna melted in my mouth, and salmon was fatty too. Generous sashimi portions with sushi rice. Reasonable prices for the combos for lunch and dinner, special menu is based on market price, which is a bit expensive ($14/piece of uni). 3 for $15 hand rolls from Tues-Thurs :) Ordered: lunch chirashi bowl($20), lunch combo sashimi deluxe ($22), dinner combo sushi deluxe ($25) Tip: check in on yelp for free edamame

Our favorite local sushi restaurant, we've been coming here since it was formerly Hayato Sushi. The new owner and head chef, Joel, is always so friendly and welcoming! The udon is one of the best in the area. The fish is always very fresh and there's always a rotating menu of specials. The restaurant is always clean and the ambiance is casual and warm. It's limited seating inside maybe ~30 guests and can get busy for dinner on weekends.

This was a first for my boyfriend and I. I love the side of the room, it's small and only a few people working as hostess or in the kitchen. It was super cute and cozy and perfect for a date night. Our hostess and server was so upbeat and kind and the food was presented beautifully and delicious. The seaweed salad was fresher than most places and less slimy. Loved the veggie tempura too.

Try the Omokase experience. Each course was introduced with explanation and care which I appreciated. Thank you Chef!

Start off by saying we will definitely be back. Came in on a Saturday around 7:30pm. Full house but luckily a few big parties were on their way out. Server quickly came to clear the tables and we were sat immediately. Ordered a dinner special with 3 options; Salmon Sushi, Avocado Roll, & a California Roll. Their dinner special also came with some starters, a side salad & Miso Soup. We ended up sharing everything since there was plenty of food. The salmon just melts in your mouth, so good. Our server Kyle was fantastic. He checked on us frequently and very humble. you can tell that everyone on staff here really cares about their level of service. Great food and service what more do you need?!

Favorite sushi place in claremont! Great quality fish and rotating seasonal menu. Chef Junya and chef Regi are the best and provide an excellent sushi bar experience. Always a favorite- the only place I bring company when they're in town. 100% recommend

One of our favorite sushi restaurants! We've eaten at this restaurant three times now, and never had a bad meal. I will describe our first time which was omakase at the sushi bar. Below are just some of what we were served. -Assorted fresh sushi of the day, including uni and toro -Toro hand-roll, so delicious -Salmon belly with special sauce, melt in your mouth good -Squid with salmon roe and cucumber and seaweed salad -Octopus with lemon The fish was super fresh and absolutely delicious. We enjoyed everything that was served to us, which doesn't happen often, even in restaurants with Michelin stars. The restaurant itself is small and ordinary, and located the the corner of a non-descript strip mall. Service was so-so during all three visits, and on the second and third visits, we waited a long time (more than half hour) before getting any food. The reason for 5 stars is purely for the good food. And for that reason we will go back every chance we get.

For Claremont, this place was reasonably priced with fresh fish and a variety of menu options! I got the sushi deluxe, and my friend got the katsu-don. The sushi was not bad, with large pieces of fish. My friend didn't enjoy her katsu-don as much, but the portion was quite big and she had leftovers, which was nice. As other have mentioned, service and ambiance left a little to be desired - when we were given place settings, one of our napkins was visibly used and our server took our orders standing behind a divider (weird). Everyone was very nice though, and the little plaza on Foothill doesn't feel dangerous or anything, just kind of empty.

Hmmm. A popular, small restaurant that gets busy for dinner service. The limited tables fill up quickly, so come early. I came by due to the high ratings and had just an okay experience. Maybe it was a fluke? If we could do half stars, I would say 3.5, but keep in mind that I have only been once. Service could have been more attentive. The food was okay. Tried the 3 item dinner combination set with vegetable tempura, saba, and sashimi; agedashi tofu; and shishamo. The best items were probably the tempura, saba, and shishamo. The most disappointing was the agedashi tofu. Everything else was so-so.

We were seated quickly and taken back by how vibrant the interior was. We decided to order multiple plates and share so we ordered Dumpling Soup, Grilled Swai, Chicken Katsu Curry, and Garlic Noodles. Everything was so delicious but the Garlic Noodles were the star of the show for me. They weren't dry or oily, it was the perfect texture. They even brought us chili oil. We ended up getting Milky Buns for dessert which tasted like warm beignets. The prices also weren't bad at all for the amounts that we got. We also utilized the lunch special and happy hour so our portions were a bit smaller. Amazing service with friendly staff. Love this place and can't wait to be back.

6pm, Friday, September 19, 2025…read more It was hopping in downtown Claremont. My date had a certain place in mind though... House of Pong Asian Fusion. It was my first visit here but it won't be my last. I had already did my browsing of what's on the menu. I joined in on the crispy tofu for the appetizer and the crispy salmon skin salad. When we walked in it was busy. The Dodger game was on at the bar. There were maybe three open tables at most. We were seated at their small table against the wall. A cozy table for two. We were greeted by our friendly server, she brought the menus and ask us about drinks to start. I've water all around, haha. She came back with our water. Ooh, tasted like cucumber water... Refreshing. While my lady was deciding, I ordered: crispy tofu appetizer (presented in a small dish, about 10-12 pieces of hot, crispy cubes of golden tofu with a dipping sauce) and the salmon skin salad for my entree. The salad was an ample sized serving to share between the two of us. The salmon skin was julienned and were crispy little clumps like miniature fishy hash browns. Very crispy and tasty salad that included sliced tomatoes, cucumber, and scallions on mixed greens. My date ordered the charshu ramen. We shared our plates. The ramen was very tasty. The noodles had a good chew, not over cooked. Mmm, that was delicious. The robotic server was kitchy and cute. Maybe it does assist them with delivering plates to the table but the human server was observed transferring them from the bot to the table. For our table, we had our food delivered in stages not at the same time. The crispy tofu arrived first, then the ramen, and several minutes later came the salmon skin salad. Not a deal breaker but noticed. Food was good. Service was okay, could be better.
