What a great AYCE local spot in Upland. The new management is killing it! Music is also upbeat and creates a great atmosphere. New management brings the Mexican fusion with rolls such as the Aguachile Shrimp Roll, the Caliente Style sushi and the many styles of Carpaccio. All delicious! My first time here and won't be the last! Pricing is very affordable for sushi AYCE and service was great! The server was attentive and empty plates were taken away quickly AND water was filled without asking. They were busy on a Friday evening but that didn't stop them from providing good service and bringing out the food quickly. Sushi was pretty fresh but they didn't have a wide variety of the nigiri. Today was my first time there. Me and my party were blown away. I have been to many AYCE sushi places but this place checked all the boxes. The menu was vast, the quality of the food was amazing. The service was great and food arrived quickly. Unlike most AYCE eat places, you actually dont just get 3 rounds but rather you get you get 1hr 15 mins of time and you can order round after round with a five minute cool down in between ordering. I think I may have come to this location about 14-15 years ago when it was a different sushi restaurant. Being that it's on Route 66, this spot is vaguely familiar. The seating is okay, the AC absolutely needs to be running, and order timing should be refined. It says under new management and the cracks are showing. Victor was friendly and helpful. The staff was cool and they had a variety of rolls to choose from. I enjoyed the Tuna and Albacore Carpaccios with chili crunch, but you can only order 1 each per person and they arrive with 4, not 5 pieces as the menu states. Social media brought us in, but we were definitely thrilled to have stopped by. My husband and I love sushi and we're all about trying a new, local AYCE spot. Sushi Takumi had great service, a clean and comfortable establishment, and good sushi. We came in on a weekend for lunch and they were extremely busy. Despite the chaos, the excellent service didn't waiver and the food came out within a reasonable amount of time between rounds. Sushi Takumi is located in a strip mall with plenty of free parking shared among the surrounding businesses. There is ample seating inside with plenty of staff to keep things moving efficiently. We were pleased with the variety of items they had on their menu, especially in terms of sushi. Some of our favorite items included the Strawberry Cheesecake roll (always love mango in my sushi) and the Seared Salmon sushi. To be honest, the sushi was really good. The kitchen items, however, were hit and miss. The Korean Fried Chicken with accompanying sauce was tasty. The pork belly left a lot to be desired as it was overcooked and dry. We agreed that we would likely skip out on any kitchen items next time we stop by. Sushi Takumi was priced right with a product that, more than justified what we ate. I saw them on Instagram and knew I had to try it. They had a $25 all-you-can-eat deal, which is pretty rare these days. The catch is, it was only available during the first two weeks of June. The drive was a bit far, but totally worth it. I did a ton of nigiri, one roll, some fried dishes, and sashimi. The service was great, friendly and attentive. I got there around 5 pm, and by 6, the place was starting to get busy. They have some rules for AYCE, but I really liked that you could scan your items, and they went straight to the sushi chefs or kitchen. Super efficient, you don't need to call over the server unless you want to. The only real disappointment was the roll- terrible, honestly. The rice was warm and heavy, not fluffy or seasoned like it should be, so we just skipped more rolls. The portions were generous, giving us the chance to order and try a ton of different things. Saw a reel on Instagram last night and haaaaad to come try this place out. My friend and I have been craving sushi and this place def hit the spot!! The fish to rice ratio is the best I've seen at an AYCE. They have a sauce bar with ginger and wasabi as well. Parking was plentiful and the location was easy to find. Lunch price everyday (not just weekdays!) is $30, dinner is $35, so solid value. Staff is very kind & attentive, & everything came out quickly. We did 3 rounds & were in & out within an hour. Came to check this place out cause I found it on IG, they have a new ownership and now does Mexican/latin fusion sushi. I've never been here before so I can't speak to what it was like previously but... It was pretty packed on a Friday night. The fish was so fresh and sooooo good. Our server James was super helpful and explained the menu to us. He was attentive, friendly and kind. As for the ambiance it was pretty chill, I like the vibes. Really good sushi actually, pro tip to order all the exclusive (you can only order 1 per person foods) FIRST. Get your moneys worth and the best stuff out of the way then work your way down to the other sushis. Everything we tried was really really good. I would definitely come back! I didn't have the food before the change in management but I gotta say, the way it is being managed now, they are very efficient with their operations. We came as a group of 10 with no reservations and were seated within 30 minutes during dinner service. Sonia explained everything in detail from the beginning so we knew what to expect. As soon as we placed our orders, the food came in quickly. Usually at other AYCE places, it takes a while for the food to come out. Not here! Within 5 minutes, the food started showing up and came all at once. There was no down time and they cleaned the tables off as soon as we were done with our plates to bring the next items right away. Their fish to rice ratio was also great. Not too much rice and the fish tasted fresh. They also had some Mexican inspired sushi dishes that gave it another twist. Ambience was really nice and I felt welcomed from the server tables to the wait staff and even the clean up crew. All of them were very friendly. Victor also was really good with just checking in on everyone from time to time and Makayla was also very friendly. Will definitely be back in the future. All of this service was also during Mother's Day dinner and they were still able to handle everything with the additional demand. Thank the gods above that I came across this restaurant on TikTok because it's definitely a favorite now. My partner and I came in today and were impressed with everything! The staff were so attentive and helpful. The space itself was very nice. There's a station that offers different sauces which was neat. We did AYCE and did not regret it. The takoyaki pieces were cooked beautifully and tasted great. The mussels weren't piping hot and tasted amazing. The nigiri had the perfect fish:rice ratio. But, our absolute favorite item was the Mango Salmon Roll. The sweetness of the mango amplified the flavor of the salmon and pice do gallo. I wish we had ordered a few rolls to go - lol. The Aguachile Yellowtail Roll was a second favorite too. The only downside is that the seating is a little cramped and no dessert, but honestly, that won't deter us from coming back. Haven't been back here since new management so here's the major differences. - Love that there is a lot of no rice options! - new ordering system is good because food arrives quickly. The bad thing is that the food arrives QUICKLY! Be sure to pace, because it can be all too easy to over order early, especially when you are hungry. - Minor renovations make the dining room feel less crowded than before, making for a more comfortable dining experience. My only regret is that they no longer offer ice cream at the end of the meal. But if you have a bday, you get cheesecake. Alas, we are not huge fans of cheesecake. All in all, would definitely be back. We didn't get to try the KBBQ or ramen, so need to come back to try those. read more

Went here to get sushi uave been coming here for years. Had about 40 min wait which was expected. Staff was fantastic place was crowded and you can barely walk through isles. Place is very clean. Order was taken fast. We ordered 4 cut rolls. The fillings and toppings were excellent! The rice on the other hand was mushy, the first two rolls were mushy but second two rolls were really bad mushy. The food is normally so good here just the rice was the only negative.
