Located inside the food court area at the Montclair Place Mall, I ordered the following: - 1 2-scoop bowl = $14.49 TAX = $1.49 TOTAL = $15.79 You first choose your base (I got brown rice). Secondly, you choose 2 sides (I got crab meat and spicy crab meat). Thirdly, you choose your protein (I got the tuna and scallop). If I could give this place 20 starts I would ‍ First of all, I find myself driving near 30min when I want good quality poke, and absolutely make a stop here anytime I'm on this side of town , the amount of food they serve for the price is soooo worth it!!! By far the best poke place for taste and serving size that I have ever been to, also the cucumber salad that they serve here, I have never seen anywhere else. Service is always great. The portions here are huge and generous. I love poke, but dang, a small bowl is almost TOO much food--I can't eat this much poke in one day! You'll definitely get the bang for your buck here. Sadly I got the tempura sampler and looks so great for the price but the massive amount of oil used to fried everything was terrible. I was extremely pleased by the amount of food, the customer service was extraordinary, but sadly it was too much for me. Now if you like fried (above bar style) seafood that's your dish. I usually love the food here. Today, Friday, I came in at 7:48 pm and they said I couldn't get a bowl because they had already started cleaning. She says she would have to go to the back and wash her hands. I don't see why that was such an issue as all the food was still out. The food is absolutely incredible, and when I ate my poke dinner, the rice and fish made the classic dish while the cucumbers and other sides balanced it out perfectly. When I said that my child had a peanut allergy, the employee at the counter picked out the food they knew were safe for us and protected us from the possibly dangerous food. And I'm so glad I did! I ordered the small (2 scoops) with double salmon. Like most poke places, you're allowed to add as much toppings as you like, some with additional charge. To my surprise, the salmon was very fresh! The quality was top tier and tasted great when paired with the ponzu sauce. The person helping me out was really nice and patient with me. Overall, I enjoyed the food a lot. Only issue (if that) was that some of the items on the menu were either no longer available or just out of stock. An updated menu would be helpful. I've edited my review due to their change of serving bowl. The new round bowl is much smaller than their original oblong bowl which was a perfect size & shape. Now there is about half the size of rice and/or salad mix cramped in the bottom and then our topping choices are literally piled on top of each other, rather than separately, so we can enjoy eating it as we please. I really LOVE this poke spot...located in the renovated food court at the now Montclair Place, this is the most delish Poke spot that I go to in the area. I like going here based on the price, the portion sizes are a HUGE and they usually have check in offers on Yelp, I also utilize the stamp card that they have. I already have gotten a free bowl after going there 8 times lol so I think that incentative helps a lot!!! The fish is always fresh tasting so you can tell they spend the time to actually buy quality ingredients and they have free miso soup they have been giving with the meal. Price: Shrimp bowl (gyoza, tempura, takoyaki) is just somewhere $11. Thats very cheap! Staff: They were okay. They werent as friendly as I wanted (expected). Business as usual. I tried building/starting conversation not related to food/work - they pretty much just kept quiet / continue the serving lol. Tried it twice the past 15days lol.
