Korean food options in the area are unfortunately quite limited, but we decided to give this place a try since we were craving some Korean food. It was fairly quiet on a weekday afternoon. You order at the counter, take a number, and find a seat. We had to wait a little bit before someone came up and took our order. Here's what we ordered: - Bulgogi quesa taco (beef, shrimp): I love korean fusion tacos and the quesa tacos didn't disappoint. They were nice and cheesy, although dripping in oil. - Korean seasoned chicken: I would definitely pass on this. The chicken was heavily breaded and drenched in sauce. - Pork soon tofu soup: I would also probably pass on this as well unless you're really craving soondabu. The soup was really thick and a little too salty. Overall, not bad for the area but next time I think I would drive a little further out for some better Korean food.
So I'm not sure what happened here but I used to LOVE this spot. Somehow in the last few years the quality and quantity of food has gone down but the prices have gone up. Honestly I think I keep stopping by because of nostalgia.. I've gotta hang that up. The amount of meat you're given is laughable. This would but be enough protein to feed a reasonably grown adult. The service itself isn't even good. The woman at the counter couldn't seem to care less to be there and the individuals making the actual food have been MIA the last 2 times I've stopped in. K town was an amazing local restaurant that I really believed in when it opened. Im really disappointed to see where it's landed.
The beef bulgogi fries I think are the highlight of KTowne-88! The fries themselves are crisp yet fluffy and it is absolutely LOADED with cheese, sauce, and beef bulgogi. It can be easily shared between 2 people. I was also a big fan of their cheese corn dog, it's pretty small because it's offered as a side, but I think it was a pretty decent serving for the price and it tasted great too! The wings unfortunately weren't the best, the wings themselves didn't have a lot of meat to them and it could have been breaded better to have a better crunch. We got the spicy flavor, but it wasn't our favorite, it was actually pretty bland with an overbearing spiciness to it. The black bean noodles also wasn't my favorite, the flavor seemed a little off from other black bean noodles I've had. Overall, Ktowne-88 is a very spacious establishment with plenty of seating and OK food. I would definitely come back for the bulgogi fries if I'm in the area!

She came back and allowed us to place our order but stated it would have to be to go. I got a beef bowl with rice, my fiancé got chicken bowl with salad (not pictured) we were unable to purchase a fountain drink because she stated they shut it off for the night because it wasn't working. After placing our order the lady asked us to wait outside and gave us a buzzer for when our food was ready. Not one to complain but it was 8 pm outside and a little windy but no big deal. Got back home and ate our food and it was kind of bland to me. I was disappointed I've wanted to try this place for a while and had high expectations. Maybe it was just an off day.

There was rice cake and fish cake in the dish. The rice cakes were perfectly cooked, just the right amount of chewiness. However, the dish as a whole was just okay. Spicy Korean seasoned chicken: We all thought that it was really salty. I could not taste the spiciness because it was so salty. The chicken was crunchy and had a good texture, but I wouldn't reorder this dish. We came around noon on a weekend, and there was plenty of seating and parking in the lot. Food prices were fair. I may reorder the fries again, but not the tteokbokki or spicy korean seasoned chicken.

It was thicker and almost creamy-like. Service was fast and the restaurant was clean. There were a few people who opted to dine outside. They looked like they were enjoying their food with a few beers. From the looks of it, we should have ordered the wings.
Ever since the owners changed, the food has gone downhill. Staff is always changing and 90% of them are extremely rude, however there are a few that are very kind. Tacos were thrown in the box and the ramen had little to no broth and I've had change thrown at me because they didn't want to walk towards the counter. I've tried giving them several chances hoping it would get better. The new owners unfortunately do not care about the service. Found some great new spots because of this and a lot of people I know have stopped going to Ktown as well.
This is the worst Korean food I've ever had. There were only 5 pieces of rice cake in our dduk bokki dish. The japchae was so bland, noodles were stuck together and hard. I do not recommend this place. I was shocked how bad their dishes were.
Great place for "fast food" style korean food and snacks. I took friends here that have never tried korean food and they loved it. The plaza its in has a bunch of parking. The inside is spacious. The only thing thats a is the restroom. Overall, it's a good place. Definitely try the wings!
This is the first time I had Korean food dishes, they were sooo good. I can't wait to go back and try more. The server was friendly and helpful. It was quiet. When I went, there's 99's music playing in the background and two tvs . You order when you walk in and then sit where you want.
Great hangout place and to fulfill your crave on your simple Korean Food. In addition, this place also offers mixed hispanic cuisine touch to the food menu. Beef Bowl portion is just perfect while Tofu Soup, could have little bit more extra meat. The only downside is, the table outside not being cleaned. While I wet- sanitized wiped the chair and table with, it was literally 'black' dirty - and this bring you uncomfortable feeling. Since the outdoor dining was setup, means option for dining there is offered with the condition that support the cleanliness, I guess. But this was not I discovered. If there is rating option of 3.5, I'll go for it.
We enjoyed our tacos and beef bibimbap. They had great flavor. The fish taco was one of the best we've had. Be careful though, they are very small. See the photo to see how their diameter isn't that much bigger than the diameter of the water glass. And, while it is very fast to order when you walk in, it takes a long time for the food to come out. But, the food was worth the wait. We will definitely be back when we aren't looking for a fast bite to eat.
Major catfishing going on. Appealing to the eye but the flavor was not there. Tacos were cold upon receipt. I ordered the beef & fish taco. Mostly toppings & breading on the fish taco, with like a french fry sized piece of fish. Same with the Bulgogi fries, meat was okay but fries were cold and not very flavorful. My friends didn't speak too highly of the ramen either. Maybe I came on an off day?

Kimchi anyone? There's a bountiful supply to your hearts desire. Some good Bulgogi fries and orange chicken. Satisfying.. but the Kimchi definitely is the highlight. The menu options had a wide range it's sometimes hard to decide and you end up choosing familiarity when you're pressed for time. Great service! Our server was attentive to our table and kept refilling our Kimchi cravings. Chill atmosphere for a casual lunch. read more

Came back here after 3 years and it immediately seemed different when I walked in. I guess the ownership changed and I didn't expect the food taste to change so much... I ordered Jjajangmyun and the noodles were too soggy and stuck together, the sauce was too salty and sweet. I took one bite and couldn't force myself to continue eating. What a disappointment. read more

Wow!!! They merged with the wrong company, so disappointing WHY???? We love the K-Town 88 just the way it was. "Delicious Eats" If you want delicious mouth watering Mexican food with AMAZING customer service go to Villa Viva off of "SLOVER" remember SLOVER & they are opened until 12am !!! We are going to miss you Jeanette and August both of you have always been so extremely friendly and welcoming. We are going to miss coming to visit you and ordering way too much food We kept coming back because of how amazing the customer service was , how delicious and accurate our orders where always taken. Our little one is still sad that we will not be returning, he loved picking out a fish ice cream or boba. * Avoid Esther if you are going there and the manager Carlos is a Joke of a manager. Allowing their staff to act in such a Horrendous way and not just to me but the Ambience. It's usually quiet since they are near an apartment complex when they were closing up, they thought slamming the chairs on top of one another was the most efficient way. They got my order wrong twice and they didn't throw away the food I gave them back...twice since when did that become okay. Then I get told that's how it's going to be from now on. I didn't get told prior to placing my order about the changes but they are going to be condescending afterwards. I would of not ordered from there or wasted our time or mone If you go the best of luck the tortillas are different the portion of Bulgogi is lacking and the calm welcoming ambiance is gone. *plus you don't know if you are going to get food someone else already touched and returned. read more
East meets West, beef bulgogi fries where have you been all my life? Been wanting to try this for some time, wish I didn't wait so long. The beef is tender and seasoned nicely. The sauce drizzled on top is slightly sweet, but pairs nicely with the fries. Staff is nice, service is quick. AND they serve alcohol?! What! Thought that was pretty cool. read more

Is there new owners or cooks? One less star because they've changed their ingredients in the Beef Bulgogi Burrito. No fried rice in there now and I'm informed that it's just Mexican rice. The Beef didn't have a bulgogi flavor either.Big difference in flavor and was very salty. Sadly, it was one of my go-to menu items making this place a regular visit for me. Other than that, they still have that killer sauce. Korean Chicken Tacos and Quesadilla still tasted good (especially with that sauce.... Hope they don't change that). Unfortunately this place is down the visit list for me now. read more

When LA and Highland meet (almost) halfway... With our last minute craving for Korean/Asian fusion. Loved the chicken wings, bulgogi fries, and calamari. The tacos were a bit tough tho and the Carbonara Ramen just tastes a bit hmmm... how do I explain it nicely? Interesting..? Staff were nice but the items were a bit pricey. I came here on a total whim, I actually had checked out the Upland Lemon Festival nearby and didn't find any food to my liking there, was hungry, and found this spot on Yelp. I was craving Korean food and this seemed like a place to check out. I didn't expect much coming here, as it's a fast casual place, but it turned out to be good! There were a few diners inside, but it was rather quiet for a Sunday afternoon. I asked the gal at the register for some suggestions, and she recommended the Bibimbop. I was crossing my fingers for something closer to authentic Bibimbop...And yes, we had a winner! Good portion, lots of veggies, good amount of beef bulgogi, and the gojujang came on the side in these tiny cups. The young man who brought my food to the table wasn't at all enthusiastic - I had asked him for some utensils and he was all emotionless and pointed at the table end, and said, "It's right there." I'm like bro, smile man! But the gal at the register was most helpful and very chill. You're not here for tip top customer service, but I think the girl was great, the young man might need some customer service training tbh. Anyway, I digress. The portions were also good, even had to box up half my meal home because it was a lot of food. Oh and the Beef Bibimbop was about $16 after tax, if you wanna know. The decor here is really top notch! I was surprised to see so many K-pop posters. I was seated at a spot that had tons facing right at me. BTS ones to be exact. So if there are K-pop or Army fans, you should come on by. So come by if you're in the area, you'll leave with a happy belly. So in all, worth the visit. read more

It's been a few years since my husband and I returned due to a couple negative experiences. Two weeks ago, We ordered the chicken katsu, bulgogi burrito, bulgogi fries, and kimchi balls. Overall everything was really good. We were optimistic that they revamped their menu and improved. Eager to try their fried chicken sandwich, my husband planned on picking up food here on Thursday 9/2 on his way from work. He literally called them 24 times trying to place an order over the phone (between 3:40-4:15pm) and nobody ever picked up. He ended up coming straight home because the restaurant is out of the way. He reached out to them on Instagram and they said they were busy and why they didn't answer. He showed them a screenshot of his call log. The following day (today 9/3) he called 20 minutes ahead and placed an order for 2 chicken sandwiches, the Buldogi (hotdog) and kimchi balls. When he arrived to pick up our order, they said they ran out of buns so didn't make us the Buldogi. My husband said they should have called him back so he could have ordered something else. It's the Friday on Labor Day weekend so traffic was horrific. Once he got home we want to dig into our sandwiches but his bun was totally burnt, like both sides of the bun. It was totally inedible, like how can you not see how black this is? He called them back and the girl on the phone wasn't helpful at all. The sandwich itself was rather disappointing. They use chunks of chicken thigh meat/dark meat and some parts were chewy. More bun than chicken. It was missing the cabbage. We had really high hopes but were reminded again of why we stopped coming here in the first place. Very inconsistent. read more
first time here, lots of parking spaces empty around 3:30pm service was good, food came quickly the shrimp queso was my favorite because flavor and the cheese was on point. also the dipping sauce was great. the shrimps are tiny the sweet sour and spicy chicken was second best. a bit crunchy and thick pieces of chicken. seafood tofu soup non spicy was okay. the clams and muscles were frozen an tasted raw raw. the black bean noodles were okay, the flavor was not present but bowl serving size was huge. service was quick, but ok. we did not get a greet or good bye when we were the only ones there. ambiance was loud, some good music vibes. read more
Service 4/5 - Cashier was nice, but nothing out of the ordinary. Ambiance 3/5 - It was freezing in here! They blasted the AC on a cold day. The radio was super loud and there were ads going on. Heard more ads than music in the 30-40 minutes we were there. Restrooms were pretty dirty. Food 5/5 - Food was mediocre. The ramen tasted like it came from a instant ramen bag. Kimchi fried rice had a weird spice to it. I like spice, but the flavor was a bit odd and smoky. My favorite was probably the Bulgogi Tacos. The orange sauce drizzled on it was creamy. Meh. It's okay but I've had better Korean food many times. The service is good but there was something off about all of our dishes. The flavor was okay and they came out hot. The line wasn't bad and there was plenty of outside and inside seating. The Galbi ribs were pretty tough and of average flavor. The rice was a little dry. The Soondubu (kimchi tofu soup) was okay - nice spice levels. The Ttekbokki was strange, with wheat noodles thrown in and they sucked up moisture around the chewy rice cake. There were some strange additions that didn't meld well. Overall an okay experience and meal but I would not return. read more

I ordered all of this for takeout and once I opened the bags; I was very surprised by the portion sizes. They were HUGE and I was praying and hoping someone could help me eat all of it. The Beef Bulgogi fries were very good and they did NOT skimp out on the meat or cheese which is a common issue for loaded fries like these. Even for the pickiest of eaters, potatoes, cheese, and meat are the holy trilogy to get anyone to try anything. The Kimchi rice balls were still crunchy after being in the box for almost an hour which was very surprising. Honestly, you could get away with getting full from only four of these. The Carbonara Ramen reminded me of normal pasta than ramen tbh and the bacon chunks were GIANT. Most places skimp on meat for price purposes but this place definitely doesn't. Lastly, the tteokbokki was super chewy and a good level of spice. I usually chicken out on spice bc of my very low tolerance but I think this was painful enough to be enjoyable. In total including tax, this was $53 and for my sisters and I we still could not finish it! For reference, there are three of us and at the end there was still half of the fries, most of the pasta, and half of the tteokbokki left. I believe it could easily feed a family of five. This place surpassed my expectations forsure. read more
I've been wanting to come to K-Towne 88 for the longest time. I finally went with some coworkers for lunch a few weeks ago and was so happy to finally have made it over. I've been dreaming about the bulgogi fries since I first eyed their menu so I knew I had to get those. They were everything I dreamed of and more. They were crispy, the meat was flavorful, the sauce was so good- it was all around the perfect dish! I also ordered some beef soon tofu which was also delicious. Not to mention the portion was huge! I was able to save some of each dish and bring it home for lunch the next day. I can't wait to come here again! It was well worth the wait! read more

This place is a solid 3 stars. My wife and I have been wanting to try this place as we enjoy eating Korean food. Service: we were not greeted when we came in. There was no offer to help us order as it was our first time there. We came at a time where it was not busy. Fish taco: the fish taco is very good. Small but it's full of great flavor. Really enjoyed the fish taco. Tteokbokki: this dish was ok. The rice cake was cooked great. Perfect level of chewiness but the dish lacked flavor. I got mine with Ramen and was not very impressed with this dish. Japchae: Lacked a lot of flavor. Glass noodles were very chewy and hard to eat, bulgogi sauce tasted just like soy sauce and nothing else. Ate the side of rice instead. The place was nice and clean. Parking is easy as there is plenty of parking all around. read more

This place is a vibe with great music and lovey service. Highly recommended for people who want to try full flavor dishes that can be shared. However I would order my own. We ordered the Bulgogi fries , beef Bibimbap and tofu beef soon ... can't wait to get more soon. read more

Do they serve vegan Jjajangmyeon?
Their jajangmyeon contains pork. Most jajangmyeon at Korean restaurants contain pork with the pork premixed into the black bean sauce. Additionally, the sauce tends to have animal products aside from pork in it.
How is this 1 $ sign when almost everything is over 10+?
The prices used to be a little lower a few years ago but they have made some improvements to the restaurant (drink bar, electronic menu) so the prices probably account for that.
Do they offer military discount?
I dont believe so. Havent seen anything about that
