I had a basic Caesar salad that started at $14 then asked for chicken which was $7!! When I got my ceasar salad is was wilting from the amount of sauce on it, on top of a flat Shirley temple, that I had asked to be remade and it was again flat. It's not often I find myself in Gresham but we were heading to the river and decided to grab brunch nearby and came across Sweet Betty's. this place has a vibe you don't find often in Portland and it was a fun/nice change from the usual 'trendy' spots i frequent. the place had a wait but for two we waited maybe ten minutes and were seated quickly. i started with mimosa, for $6.50 it was champagne heavy, large & cheap. just how i like it. my friend got the irish coffee and said it was good. i was pretty basic and ordered their chicken sausage, two eggs over easy, rye toast & fruit. it was good! although they only give you one piece of toast cut in half which is was kind of annoying, for two eggs i feel two pieces of toast is necessary. my friend got the eggs benedict and although it didn't blow him away he said it was good. said maybe the hollandaise was lacking. overall, i thought this was a good & solid place to grab brunch around gresham and although i'm not rushing to go back anytime soon, i would return. worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

What a fun atmosphere. Very friendly accommodating staff can be found at Sweet Betty's. The consistency and quality of the food is excellent. The Huevos Rancheros Is one of my favorite dishes there, it is consistently good. The classic breakfast of two eggs, toast, cottage potatoes is done with attention to flavor, freshness and aesthetically pleasing. The family and I went here for breakfast after hearing so many people rave about it. We got there relatively early, but they were packed and waited around 20-25 minutes for a table. Because they're small we waited outside, which was fine bc it's summer. If it were raining we probably would have left. The service was good. The menu was okay but we were a bit disappointed they didn't have a kid menu. They have options that you can make work though. The biggest issue I have is their pricing. While the food was good, it wasn't great or particularly special. My wife's omelet was greasy in fact. Even if the food was out of this world, I'm not sure I could justify paying around $60 for breakfast for 2 adults and 1 kid. read more

Happening little breakfast joint in Gresham it's seems to always be busy, which is what made us finally stop. Glad we did the service was excellent the food was a treat and the atmosphere was very friendly. We opted to sit at the bar since there where just two of us so we waited less then 5 minutes the table would of been a 15 minute wait which is doable but we were starving!!! The potato hash was so crispy which surprised me being they are smothered is a salsa, loved them. This past weekend we hiked Angel's Rest and decided at the top that we needed a great brunch. After some deliberation, we decided on Sweet Betty's. Actually-- no deliberation at all. I mentioned french toast and the girls quickly jumped on. It was Saturday around 11am and we were expecting a decent wait. Sweet Bettys has a great reputation and a lot of great reviews on top of a new location that can accommodate more people both inside and outside. We asked for a table of three and was seated within 5 minutes outside under a canopy. Our server, new to the area from Mississippi, was very kind and welcoming. He took care of all of our brunch demands like asking for an extra pair of silverware, getting us ketchup, getting pineapple juice in addition to the orange juice that came with the mimosa bucket. He did not bat an eye and was kind the whole time. I ordered the spanish omelet, the girls ordered Edna's classic and a French Toast special at the entrance with allllll of the berries. We were too hungry (and busy sipping on mimosas) to take pictures so I apologize. Everything was delicious and to our surprise: we finished just about everything. If you're in the area or in need of a brunch spot outside of the long lines in Portland, please give this place a go. read more

There were two of us that dined in Sweet Betty's on July 24th between 10:30 and 11:00 a.m. There was nothing wrong with our food or the service. However, when it came time to pay our bill, things changed. I had been gifted a Visa gift card, and I paid with that. Our server brought us the bill but did not pick up the card to run payment. I believe it was one of the hostesses that day, but can't be sure. I signed the iPad receipt and excused myself to use the restroom after ordering a diet soda to go. I was not given a final receipt showing any tip amount. Upon returning to the table, we left. Our order number was 73045. The receipt was printed on July 24, 2022, at 12:07 p.m. We were seated at the long table at the end closest to the front door. We then proceeded directly home, and I realized my Visa gift card was missing. The other person in my party does not have it, nor was it left on the table. I have looked everywhere in my purse outside of where I keep items like this. The other party does not have it. The gift card, possibly through a change of hands, did not come back to either of us at the table. Yesterday, I spoke with the manager on duty. He was my third call to the restaurant. I gave him all the necessary details from the receipt, i.e., server name, date, time, order number, and dollar amount. This person said his/her boss or the owner would be calling me back. Yet another day is here with no response. The worse thing is that the gift card had a balance available of $65.50. I was very much depending on the balance left on that gift card. It's a matter of needing the money at this point as many people can understand. Our visit to Sweet Betty's was a treat to ourselves, one we won't be making again. I will always pay what I owe. What I will not do is sit idly by while someone takes something that does not belong to them, $65.50. I respectfully ask that Sweet Betty's owner send me a check in the amount of $65.50, and for the extreme inconvenience this has caused refund our breakfast as well, making the check an even $100. If there is no response to my review by Friday of this week, I will be going to the BBB and others to elevate this situation. Thank you. read more

Just by chance went here today with my sweetie and I'm so glad I did! Being Trans*, I often dress "down" when going out to eat in Gresham due to not wanting to gain any extra attention and not feeling very safe when I go out. I was expecting the same thing today and was so pleasantly shocked to have the OPPOSITE experience! Me and my sweetie were seated by an extremely kind server right off the bat. It was nice to see art celebrating people of color and a rainbow flag hanging above the kitchen. The food was great diner food and we even got to meet the owner who was working hard but also was very kind and took time to talk with us and many other tables there! It was wild to feel homey in this place that I had such low expectations for. Someone from another table even bought our breakfast for us for just being happy to see me and my partner holding hands when we walked in! What?! The Benny and cinnamon French toast was very good! It really saddens me to see all these terrible reviews. At the old location I enjoyed it quite a bit and went fairly often. But the staff at the new location is quite snotty and I was sitting at a table by myself looking at a waitress standing against the wall and I've been sitting at the table for 10 minutes waiting for somebody to bring me a menu or take my order for anything and I kept looking over at her. She told the manager that she was uncomfortable that I was staring at her and they asked me to leave. Had a great breakfast there. We tried two of their breakfast specials; blueberry pancakes and the chicken steak Benedict. The pancakes were overflowing with blueberries and the chicken steak Benedict had eggs which were perfectly poached and the hollandaise sauce was delicious The staff was friendly and once seated we got our drinks and food quickly.
