Used to come in occasionally, literally years ago. Decided to give it a try again. Dropped by at about 1:30. Not too many customers at that time. Interior is fairly diner-ish. Lots of mature patrons. ie. not young. Wife ordered the Denver omelette, I did the ribeye steak breakfast. Steak is marked as market price. At this time it means $29.95. Food came out pretty quickly. Sadly we had some problems. The ribeye cut is pretty thin. First time out came out raw in the middle, the refire cooked it too much. Quite a bit of fat on the cut. Not a huge fan and wouldn't order it again. Hash browns were not super warm, over easy eggs were fine. They offer two sizes of omelette, wife was going to get the full and take some home. Didn't specify and server didn't ask. Ended up getting the half omelette, evidently. OK. Don't really cook the veggies much and they were pretty crunchy. Again hash browns just warm. With tip meal was north of $55. Servers were friendly and accommodating Not sure we will return. Bummer read more

When you have good food and good service, you have a great time. Sometimes tragic beings family together. We just wanted something to erase that. This place does it. It's a nice family atmosphere here. I just felt welcome the min I came in. The simple decoration with messages written on a black board gave the place a homely feel. The friendly welcome I got from all the staff and the food. The menu made me think with I wanted. And the portions made me regret what I ordered. Not really I regretted I didn't have a bigger stomach. ;) There was no way I could finish my food in one setting. I got good old biscuits and gravy with scrambled eggs. I feel I got a potful of sausage and gravy instead of a ladleful. I couldn't find my biscuits for a few seconds. I also got a side order of sausage. Yea it was too much. Overall five stars. Great tasting stick to your bones meal. Even when it's reheated. The service was on the spot. She worked hard and kept smiling the whole time. And for the price well, well, WELL worth it. read more

We arrived on a Monday morning and had our choice of tables. Service was very friendly and helpful. Our breakfasts arrived from the kitchen quickly and as ordered. I had a special, 1 biscuit and gravy, 1 bacon, and 1 egg. My date had the half omelet, turkey, and swiss cheese. Everything tasted great, and coffee refills were offered several times. However, the take out breakfast we purchased on 12/6 was the worst take out breakfast we've ever had from anywhere. the scrambled eggs were over done and slapped on the container, all flat, like a crepe on top of the bacon strips also burnt, sausage links looked like they're cooked hours prior. Great little place for breakfast. I ordered the Jerry special. Well it was made for me so how could I resist? it was my go to for breakfast, chicken fried steak and eggs. I was able to substitute egg whites which is good for me. The hash browns I ordered extra crispy. They were surely made to order. Next time I will just have them regular. The chicken fried steak was just ok. It was freaking enormous but big doesn't mean good. For me it was a bit thin and chewy. Not my favorite. Breakfast was good and solid. Went there this morning because I wanted a traditional breakfast. They got it done, and fast. My girlfriend and I sat down, and had coffee in 2 minutes. After we ordered (very large menu) the food was delivered quickly. I love the way they cook their bacon. It's pretty solid but not fried to a crisp. The hash browns were nice and crispy brown, and the sunny side eggs were just right. It's clean, and, while not fancy, it's no dive either. They even serve Bloody Marys, mimosas, Baileys and coffee, and a few other drinks but I didn't try any of them. The portion sizes are large, not grossly oversized. My girlfriend took half her omelette home. I got all the way through mine, but I was stuffed. All in all, it's still a great place for a solid, traditional American breakfast, and I will go back. And our food took less than 10 minutes to be served, not sure if that's a good or bad thing. BUT THE FOOD WAS TERRIBLE. And expensive! My husband ordered chicken friend steak. It was round, shaped like a pancake, red on the inside (he got sick to his stomach and hour after we left so we wondered if it was cooked thoroughly) and super chewy. Like bad steak or overcook thin ribs chewy. Tasted like ground hamburger. The country gravy had no flavor, or meat. My husband never adds pepper to anything and he poured a bunch on the gravy. He couldn't eat 2/3 of the steak, didn't take it home and left hungry. Chicken fried steak meal 1.5/10. I ordered a strawberry waffle, it came with meat. The waffle was thin and they poured so much of the wet dessert style "strawberries" that the waffle sogged through. I added two eggs, over easy, and they came out with the whites uncooked so I didn't eat them. Sausage was good. Strawberry waffle meal 4/10 We also got coffee and a soda. This was our first visit, I happen to have a bad back, so I took one point off because of the hard wooden chairs. Service was fantastic! Our server was so sweet and was able to put everything in it to go for me as I have lumbar support in my car. Food portions were perfect. Prices were excellent, flavors were excellent! Their side of fruit is a full cup of fruit, cup the eggs were cooked. biscuits and gravy were delicious! I've marked this is one of my favorites. This breakfast was mediocre at best. We walked in and placed our order. The restaurant was clean and following all Covid procedures. I ordered the French toast with eggs, hashbrowns, and bacon. The food really lacked the flavor I was expecting. My boyfriend ordered the Philly Cheese steak omelet. It was a good size. The biggest complaint with this item is that the veggies weren't mixed in with the meat. There are better breakfast spots in town, we'll stick to going to those. read more

I went in on a Saturday, 9 am, and the place was almost packed. A couple of ladies came in right behind me, picked a 4 seat table next to the window. The server kindly asked them to move to a smaller table, and they declined, because the customers wanted the window seat. So, rather than raise a ruckus, the server switched tables, leaving the ladies at the location but with less space, which was ok with everybody. Now, for my food and service. Coffee and a menu were there almost before I sat. Water and OJ soon followed. I ordered Caleb's Haystack with hashbrowns. It was excellent - too much to eat (a consistent "issue" with this establishment, I hear), delivered piping hot to my table 5 minutes after the order (this is a busy place, mind you - it arrived much quicker than expected). My coffee cup never got close to empty, and the bill was a little lower than some of the contemporaries in the neighborhood. I complimented the business, as well as added a worthy tip, for the excellent food and service, considering how busy it was, and the lady remarked that I should actually show up when it IS busy, implying that what I experienced was completely routine. Fast forward years after their kids had graduated and one of my sons was a on the team and we fell hard for the food. Great people and amazing CFS. Gresham OR. Hidden gem. Last review was 3 years ago but I stop in every few months while in town. I am a huge fan of the bacon and egg bfast and when you see how many pieces of thick bacon you get, it will amaze you. I get the small bacon bfast and it is plenty for me. Great service and a real team environment. They really work well together. All open seating. I should really try more on the menu but I like my fav. Only downside is the early $4 cup of coffee. It's good coffee and unlimited, but still pricey. read more

Mom got the Country special... y'all this bacon is thick cut and it is AMAZING.. ask for it crispy. The French toast was yummy as well. Dad got the family size Jerry's Chicken Fried Steak with the intent of taking some home. Ok the crust is awesome on the chicken fried steak but the gravy is amazing too....
