Stopped in for lunch today. I had barbecue wings, JoJos and gizzards. The flavor was good on everything, but the wings were over sauced and the gizzards were all breading. I was very excited for the gizzards cause you don't find them a lot anymore. My first couple were fantastic and then they started getting kind of gummy because there was so much breading. I actually peeled a couple of them and had a large pile of breading and little bitty gizzards inside. Service was poor. It took forever for somebody to take my order. I received zero drink refills because they never came back. The servers were extremely nice. It's just they never came back to my table. I may or may not go back. It was not a bad experience, but it wasn't good either. read more

Awesome food, love the hot wings. Great tap selection, the staff is very personable, the owner is extremely friendly and welcoming. Karaoke nights are fun as well. read more

I stopped by for Burger Week and ordered The Rope, which was surprisingly delicious--especially for a bar. It didn't come with fries, but their Friday half-off appetizers more than made up for it. The portions were generous enough that an app could easily serve as a full meal, and the prices were very reasonable. The crowd leaned toward an older, laid-back clientele, which made for a relaxed atmosphere. I really wanted to give this place five stars, but I couldn't overlook the unpleasant smell drifting over from what looked like a rotting food flatbed trailer nearby. Thankfully, the patio allows cigar smoking, which helped mask the stench and made the outdoor seating more enjoyable. I will be back! read more

We had the wings based on what someone told us and damn they were good. I highly recommend trying them or anything else you won't be disappointed. read more

We only go on Sunday morning because the server Desi is FABULOUS and only works Sundays!!!! You can get breakfast from 9 to 11:30. I got scrambled eggs with ham and pancakes instead of hash browns and toast. More food than I can eat... so great leftovers. Boyfriend gets halibut fish and chips. He upgrades to jojos instead of fries. Desi is great with special requests and food allergy substitutes. We will be back next Sunday. THANKS DESI !!!! read more

Food and service is great and fast. There is poker on Sundays at 2 and that is always entertaining.

Great Jello Shots... Bartender was nice great...friendly people Bingo on Tuesday I will be here every Tuesday read more

In the realm of epicurean delights, where the essence of au jus harmonizes with the sublime flavors of Philly steak, a disconcerting tableau unfolded. Within the confines of culinary excellence, an ostensibly insecure bartender, driven by inner tumult, expelled my wheelchair-bound companion. "We only serve whole people here!!!" This expulsion was merely a prelude to a scathing diatribe directed at my singular limb, an amputation of my foot, an intimate glimpse into the abyss of my past battle with childhood cancer. I was only 11 when the doctors removed my leg. It's heartless to have mocked me for that! This poignant moment, marred by a soul-deep critique, emanated not from my inebriation (as I had only ordered one drink and hardly had any) but from an inexplicable wellspring of cruelty. Amidst a tapestry woven with warmth and affection from all others present, this lone figure, a lady entrenched in her own insecurity or perhaps a disconcerting phase of hormonal disarray, pms perhaps, transgressed the bounds of humanity. It serves as a stark reminder that the object of derision today might be oneself or a cherished kin tomorrow. The unseen forces of karma, meticulous in their record-keeping, stand poised to mete out their retribution. Pity envelops the trajectory of her future, for the day she confronts the inexorable lessons of karmic justice will be one fraught with remorse and self-reflection. You might just be the cripple one day! read more

This place is amazing. Dive bar atmosphere, great bartenders, and the food is phenomenal. Best steak bites, jojos and French dip you could ever ask for, and the prices are super doable. Great heated outdoor seating, which is a must in Portland. 12/10 would recommend to anyone and everyone. read more

So rude! I am from out of town first time trying this place food was great but customer service was horrible the lady with the blonde hair that works behind the bar was unprofessional. I had ordered two margaritas they weren't for my liking. I didn't drink the margarita as soon as it got handed to me I tasted it and wasn't my liking at all tasted horrible. I had asked nicely if I could get it remade and she told me I have to pay for another drink even if I didn't like it it. I serve at a restaurant and had never said no to a customer if they didn't like their drink, she was extremely rude and unprofessional. We won't be visiting that place again. read more

This place is amazing. They have new owners and have been implementing new menus. The garlic green beans are amazing and yummy!! They recently updated the back area, which is the smoking area with a great new deck. Looks amazing. Good job Kevin and Christine! This has been, and will continue to be, our go to place. read more

This place is larger than it appears from the street. Plenty of off street parking, nice outside deck and friendly staff. The burgers are hand pressed and delicious. Prices for food and beverages are a little better than most places. Not too busy when I arrived, but the after work crowd was heading in as I was leaving and it appears to be a lively bunch. Was getting loud inside. I will definitely be back to try the chicken. read more

Went here for lunch while our car was being serviced at point s. Bartender was fast with the drinks and your drink was never empty for more then 60 seconds literally. (And I was seated at a table not the bar. Tipped extra for this) We ordered lunch and the wait wasn't bad. My husband has the fish sandwich and I had the nachos. He did get his food about 5 minutes before mine. But I snagged some of his tots while I waited. It looked as tho they just had 1 guy back their cooking so It was understandable on the food wait. Quiet little bar. Will possiblyreturn when I have my car worked on again read more

We been here a few times now, and I am sure we will somehow end up back for lunch or dinner. Kind of like a 'hole in the wall' bar, but the bartenders are great and sweet, and the food is pretty good. I been getting the bacon cheeseburger with tater tots , and seems they use fresh beef and the bacon is bomb. We also got the chili dog with bacon (Extra charge) and wow, it was great, and just slathered with chili, yum. Pretty decent prices and they have happy hour specials too. read more

Love our bar!! All bartenders are great but Chellie is our favorite. Great food and great company always!!

This weekend was my first visit to the Lariat Lounge, a neighborhood bar on Division. It was full of regulars, and the owner could see I was new and gave me a tour of the place, including a bomb new patio outside with large fancy firepits! The service was excellent, and the steak bite dinner I ordered was very good for the price ($16). Also, don't forget to try the garlic green beans!! They will keep the vampires away! I will definitely be back :) read more

Burgers have gone downhill and it's not anything like it was a few years ago. I went there three times and won't be back reason for that one time one person working and no service, next time it was like I was interfering with their conversation. Last time one of the locals made a smart remark as I was leaving. I was a local at the rope for many years in the eighties. read more

I post this because this is the friendliest neighborhood bar of regular adults having breakfast I've been in. If you want a weekend breakfast done well surrounded by friendly people this is your place. The staff are friendly, professional and on it. Glad I stopped in. Prices are reasonable and the food is worth it. If you criticize my five stars you don't understand breakfast in Portland. Walking up you know what you are getting and they do a great job for a neighborhood bar open early. Far better than waiting an hour with a bunch of hipsters for chef curated food. Just sayin. If you like $3.50 mimosas and $3.75 bloody marys with breakfast they had specials while I was there for Sunday. read more

The new owners have done a lot to improve this place. They've created a great outdoor experience on their new patio. The fried chicken is delicious however it would be nice to have a couple salad choices on the menu. Everything is fried. Being able to order a salad with a chicken breast on it. Or a Cobb salad would be optimal. Maybe it's due to the Covid that they were limiting their menu. But they could still add a salad read more

Owners are fantastic. Very friendly atmosphere. Halibut tacos and steak bites were five star fare! I'll be back.

I have been coming here for about 4 years, always great service , great food. 2019 new owner, still good , but the new owner is falling into the trap of hiring sloppy dressed girls, service is slow and way to many people as employees . One question were is Tony, he held the place together read more

Best fried chicken. Ever. No joke. My friend had a burger that looked bomb, her fries were good too Lol. Awesome patio out back, easy parking. Now you won't find no fancy stuff here. Its pbr, Coors light, some blue moon. Your booze is gin and tonics, capn n coke, black velvet, you know, the rough and tumble basics, but my vodka tonics were 4 bucks...and good. We were there in the 100 degree Saturday mid july in need of AC and coll drinks. The bomb food was a plus. And the crowd, or more like, the patrons. Its cool older people who park their hot rods and 67 Chevy's out front. Waitress bartenders that have been there for 20 years. When us 3 girls left, the regulars all waived and said bye, come on back. This is my kind of place!!! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. my boyfriend and I went there to play pool. we aged 3 games and had a few drinks each. when we were done, I went, after asking the bartender and the cook, to get popcorn. as I'm leaving, the owner comes and tells me that the popcorn isn't for me,it's for his customers. I left it . but to be honest, the place smells like dirty diapers and I think they were using the popcorn to mask the smell. read more

They have done a bang up job on their patio. Totally ready for both smokers and non smokers. The new owners are killin it. Good food. Okay service. Medium to high prices. My wife and I used to order takeout food from this place at least once every week or two until about a month ago. (March, 2017.) They recently decided to add a 20% "gratuity" to every food order. When I asked them why, they said, "People weren't tipping...and our cooks deserve to get paid." Well, duh, but if you feel your employees aren't getting paid enough, raise their wages (and, presumably also your prices to compensate); don't tack on a forced "gratuity" charge! Needless to say, they lost all of our respect along with our business. We haven't been back since that day, and no matter what changes they may make to their policies, we will never buy anything from them again. If you don't care what you pay or why, visit the Lariat. Otherwise, look elsewhere. read more

SO I will start out with the positives...Pretty darn good fried chicken and taco Thursdays. Some of the bartenders are pretty cool except for male weekend bartender that can be a hothead at times. They recently lost a couple of bartenders whom were a true asset to the Lariat. The current owner...well I've yet to hear or see any positive attributes about him or work behind the bar. Mostly older crowd and yes they have a jukebox. read more

On the many occasions attended for Taco Thursday's or when we want some outstanding Fried Chicken & Jo-Jo's They are by far the best bar tacos a friend and I have experienced in the Portland - Vancouver metro area to date !! And to boot the Best Fried Chicken & Jo-Jo's - Tater tots on menu , but go for the Jo's instead Never yet ordered a burger , but when they go by they look great , next time in will do one. Hard liquor & beers on tap all taste as they should. See you all next time. read more

We come here regularly for Taco Thursday. I would normally give this place 5 stars but tonight was a bust. 45 min is a long time to wait for two tacos. The tacos were disappointing. 1/2 inch of meat and a sprinkling of lettuce and tomatoes. 2 inches of the taco were empty. Everybody at our table that had tacos had grease running down their hands. The potato soup however was excellent. I hope this was just a one time experience. I will say the wait staff is friendly. The drinks are good. We will come back again and give it another chance. read more

The best Fried Chicken and Jo Jo Potatoes I have ever eaten, staff is friendly and the cook actually came to the table to see how we liked the food, highly recommend this place!! read more

I came in around 6:15 and ordered chicken and JoJo's and fish and chips, it took about 20 mins as they were fairly busy, food was hot which was great giving the wait. When I returned home I opened my box of fish and chips and there was only 3 fish balls and maybe 20 fries. For $8.50 I feel this is unacceptable, the bar tender proceeded to tell me have I checked the price of fish at other places. I said I have and I should get more than 3 fish ball and 20 fries and asked for my money back. She returned my money and I said she was lucky it was me and not my boyfriend because she would calling the cops, she said over some food? I said yes, how do you think it is acceptable to sell this amount of food for that price. She gave me my money and told me not to come back. Don't worry I won't be back, very poor poor customer service, this is how you treat the customers that pay your wages. read more

GREAT burgers & Fried chicken!! Wish they had some local beer on tap.

I have been coming in for years, my work hours have fluctuated stopped in today ordered a chili burger with extra chili, patty and halapenos and a full order of Jo Jos with extra ranch. I received no halapenos and absolutely no ranch. or extra ranch. When I called to tell our hostess, she said you left it on the counter "No Way" the only items on the counter in front of me was my food order. Now I could understand if there were 100 people in there but not the case I was the "Only" food order active. when I called back again to say there was another part of my food order missing she was copping a major "Tude" says "well what do you want me to do about it" !!. Very poor service, unprofessional attitude No attempt to make it right. I have been coming here ten years. Not No More !!! 4/4/19, Time 3:30 pm on ....... Heading to Pub 181 from now on.
