TLDR: this is probably the best cocktail bar I have ever been to. I used to live a few blocks from here way back when I lived in Portland. Back then, there was an amazing business in here called The Cardinal Room (?). I loved it, they had a romantic cozy ambiance and incredible chicken sandwiches. While the food is gone, the unique, romantic ambience is back and the drinks here are next level. It's a cocktail bar that has amazingly crafted drinks but ZERO pretension about them. In fact, the service here is incredible. Friendly, fun, and frequent. They were very good at just making random creations based solely on flavors you like. But even if you are ordering on-menu, there is something here for everyone and none of the drinks are boring. I plan on coming back here every time I'm in Portland and...I WISH I still lived a couple blocks from here! read more

The colorful lighting here truly feel like a little dopamine boost. So fun, lively, and a great place to end your night. The night we came in, it was super packed - limited seats already, but we were able to find a table in 15 mins. Too Soon is the bee's knees! Me and my friend spent a couple hours here during our recent trip to Portland, and it was by far my favorite bar experience. Our server was pleasantly boisterous and provided excellent recommendations, and I quickly noticed the mark of their high caliber bar program. So, I just let her surprise me with a cocktail each time I ordered another drink. They were all superb. I even took two of their Jell-O shots, which were the best I ever had. I DO NOT like Jell-O, by the way. The inside seating area was pulsating with energy each time I walked through to use their facilities. Top 25 bar in the country, really? If based on ambiance, there's a good vibe, but far from such an accolade. If based on menu offerings and taste, then it's certainly worthy. The Beekeeper cocktail was delicious and packed a good alcoholic punch. The cocktail with pandan was light and refreshing as expected. But the most memorable experience was the buffalo chicken sandwich on Happy Hour, so much better than expected! Many venues get their buns from a small selection of bakers such as Dos Hermanos, Fleur De Lis, etc., I don't remember ever tasting the wonderful bun used here. The tempura broccoli was meh, but at least not too greasy. Nice server, but when we inquired about our fish and chips order that was placed sometime ago, she indicated she never put it in. Lost revenue and tip, oh well. Maybe wait for the buzz to settle as getting a seat or table might be tough. read more

Cute bar with a great atmosphere. Very trendy but in a specific almost niche way. Street parking available all around, but we were able to walk. We were able walk-in the times we went. The bartenders are nice as well. The drinks were pretty good. We got the Old Fashioned and a couple other drinks. Stopped in here for a pre dinner drink. It is a smaller neighborhood restaurant bar space, they do also have outdoor seating. It is fairly dark inside but once your eyes adjust it's not so bad. The ambiance is great. It's decorated really fun and randomly when we were there they had bubbles going. The service was phenomenal with people coming around often to check on us without it being too much. They have a great cocktail menu with many different selections, all sounded great. This is the coolest bar and they have such great mixologist that know exactly what they are doing! It's nice and dark on there so perfect for a date night because it is intimate. They also have some outdoor seating. The best thing about this bar is that they have a "bartenders choice" so you tell them what types of flavors you like and they will make a drink for you. The bartender asked us a few other questions like if we want an egg white in it and what type of alcohol. They absolutely nailed the drinks they were soo good! We also had one of their signature cocktails which was the "the right now" which has a good Smokey aspect too it and it has artichoke salt which is such an interesting taste. The drinks are really good and the staff was very friendly! The overall vibe/look of the bar is cool as well. One thing that bothered me though (and I know maybe I'll get hate for this), is I feel like some of the decor is tone deaf. They have a bunch of colonial men ceramic decor, but they partner with and serve food from a Filipino company. I'm Filipino and it was a bit offensive to me because even if the point of having them is trying to make fun of them, it's not really funny. We were colonized for over 300 yrs and still deal with the trauma from it. Please consider removing the colonial decor. I really enjoyed the bar and want to enjoy it in the future, but I don't think it's necessary to have those things in the bar and doesn't add anything to how cool the bar is apart from that. Cute bar with a fun vibe just off Burnside. We checked it out while we waited to a table a Ken's Artisan Pizza down the road. I was glad to find a cool cocktail bar nearby to visit! Too Soon is super cute and fun! My friend found this bar on instagram! It's more of an intimate setting I would say due to the dark ambiance and the red and blue disco effect lights. I ordered the melon and panda which was refreshing in a chilling ice glassed mug. My friend ordered the mango chili which I really enjoyed the tangy spice. My other friend ordered the barista's special which was cool that you get to be randomly surprised with a cocktail. But they're definitely will notify you in advance of the type of liquor. Menu is limited. The mushroom fitters were mushy. My friends liked the pork sliders and albacore though, so definitely try snacking on these small plates. We had some time waiting for a table at a restaurant down the street. The bartender was great, she could tell we weren't sure what we wanted so said she could make something for us just needed to ask some questions. Um EXCELLENT cocktail bar! It opened about a month ago and I have already been about 4 or 5 times. First - cocktails are excellent, highballs are the specialty, and they are actually significantly better than most, the soda water alone is bomb! My favorite drink is the Melon and Pandan, but I've been trying to mix it up and every other drink I've had has also been delicious. There are some really uniquely flavored drinks like Celery & Shiso, which was GREAT, but definitely not run of the mill. I've been enjoying the bartender's choice - just tell them the your flavor profile! On top of great cocktails, ambiance is great -music has been ON POINT, a lot of variety and creates the vibe. Lighting is cool - large moon-like colorful lights that I love. Fun vibes - perfect for friends or like a "keep the date going" and def will be in during the week for a casual drink. Couldn't pass up the signature banana cocktail glass, so made a visit to Too Soon. Was absolutely wow'd by the purple pink glow just passing by this place. They really set a really fun almost tiki ambiance. For drinks, they actually have the option to give details of strong to sweet and let the bartender do the work or choose from a nice list of options. I simply had to get the crushed ice banana drink and my partner a mai thai in another glass. It looks from socials they have a bunch if really fun ones, even a little racecar. For food, the crudo was fantastic, with a glaze that we finished till the last drop. I thought sliders would be smaller, but these were almost burgers! A very welcome surprise at the prices they had for them. Servers here all seemed to have a lot of fun. One bartender blasted a bubble gun in the air which made for such a colorful scene with the disco balls and neon lights in this place. I got a sneak preview last night of this new bar. They did a great job remodeling the former space, and the new back bar catches the eye right away. Cozy spot that seems capable of handling a variety of different sized groups as well as being inviting to the solitary wander. Good lighting, comfortable seats, and an affordable, well executed menu. I tried a couple items but what really stood out were the beignets. Very delicious and not overly sweet. I'm NOT sure who he consulted with but it is VERY likely a rapist. Food, shit, music too LOUD, that's perfect to drown out screaming. I mean, we all know a casual date night place has music, the level for quiet, get-to-know-you conversation. On my last visit, I was actually scared, Too scared even to pee. The hall is lined in black. Take a peek at the video filing situation to the right when you first go in. I've been an advocate for sex workers, marginalized community members, and vulnerable populations for MANY years! I watch and listen for signs of date rape establishments. I've not only been an educator for Harm Reduction, I'm an entertainer, work closely with government officials, and have been in event productions and festivals for MANY years; I'm also a PISSED of woman who also has been drugged and raped many FUCKing times! Avoid this place, especially if your date was set up on a dating app. TRUST me, I know. My next step is an investigation, I mean have you seen the surgical gloves laying around outside.
