At first, I was not impressed with this place. We had a large reservation for a wedding rehearsal and they were very slow and inconsistent when serving us. I like the layout and ambiance of the place. Our food also was pretty slow to be served. However, once our food was served it was very good. Alcoholic drinks were also delicious and unique. We made reservations for noon on Mother's day, were seated promptly in an ice cold room with a definite breeze coming thru the doorway. This room seems to be an extra one they open for occasions. The waitress was sweet, maybe a little dingy, took 3 requests to get Mom a mimosa. When it came, it was bitter champagne at the top and oj at the bottom, and we had to ask for silverware to stir it. (They said they were short on them.) After 25 minutes of freezing we asked if we could be moved out of the room. Momma was turning blue! lol They accommodated us with the only table they had open, near the server's register, but it was a blessing. The food was exceptional but it did take quite awhile to get. I really like the ambiance here. Who doesn't want to relax by colorful fish? And the decor is lovely. We had the nicest server. The kitchen forgot to grill the fish in my husband's tacos, but they took care of it expeditiously. My fish sandwich was huge. The roll was both soft but chewy. Personally, I thought it was too much bread and just ate the fish from the second half of my sandwich. The salmon chowder was superb! We most likely won't be back in the area anytime soon but if we do come back it will be worth the trip. read more

The meal I order was the half pound mushroom Swiss burger. It was done perfectly and I chose to add an egg on top for an extra $2. It was deliciously cooked! My wife order the halibut sandwich since she is a vegetarian and really enjoyed the bread with fish. The kids menu is just as good as the adults; my daughter ate the chicken tender bites faster than she normally eats her food; so I know she actually liked it. The fruits that we ordered as her side were fresh and devoured with no issue by our 2 year old. To top it all off our server, Jason, was exceptionally thorough and hospitable. Warm personality, provided appetizer recommendations, which shrimp cigars were AMAZING. Meatloaf was good but not great, didn't taste fresh, Cajun linguine lacked flavor as well, it was good but cream wasn't cooked entirely so it had a milk flavor and I heavily salt and peppered myself. We were sat right next to the fish tank which was super cool and kind of distracting. The fish didn't know this was a business meeting and just wanted to say hi! The service was great and the atmosphere is a mix between upscale restaurant and lunch with friends. I ordered the fish and chips. They were crispy and flaky but lacked any real flavor. We sat in the EMPTY bar and we were told we had to move from our seats because we were sitting at the "regulars table" but when other people showed up they were aloud to sit there even though they were not regulars. Strike #2: Valentines Day 2026, My bf decided to make reservations for us and another couple. We arrived about 15 mins before our reservation started. We offered to wait in the bar for a table since we could see it was busy. The host continued to look in her book ignore what we said and asked us if we could be out of there within an hour. So instead of having a relaxing and romantic evening we were rushed. Because of this we didn't order any starters or deserts. We promptly left after only being there for about 45 mins only ordered entrees. When we left everyone who was seated before us was still enjoying their time and their meals. I'm very disappointed in this place I used to love coming here. I hope no one else gets treated this way. It's sad I can go into a local dive bar and get better service. They also have specials of the day. if you like Clam Chowder, it's way better that any of the other restaurants Clam Chowder. Bumpers offers 3 different soups daily. The Clam Chowder only on Fridays. I fondly call it Clam Chowder Friday. The ambiance is like stepping back in the 1920's and 30's. There is table and chair setting as well booths. The ambience was wonderful with three gorgeous salt water fish tanks. What was amazing was the food. The artichoke spinach dip was yummy, but the Hungarian mushroom soup was truly authentic (I know, I'm Hungarian). Creamy, wonderful mushroom taste with a dollop of sour cream took me home. The artichoke Moroccan chicken was amazing with artichokes, mushrooms and a tangy cream sauce with jasmine rice and perfectly cooked zucchini and squash. This is a must try place. Tonight we arrived at our reserved table - - - the person next to our booth was on his phone - with the speaker on! After several minutes, we asked to be moved. No apologies from the staff. The drink order did not arrive correctly, The meal was not as described and was mediocre at best. The server did not seem like she cared. By the way - - - the guy on the phone? Let's start off by saying this is no "Grill & Bar". Maybe that's what they called fine dining in the 50's, but this is a restaurant; a high class one. Don't let the exterior fool ya. The decor was lovely, with paintings throughout of starlets from old Hollywood when men and women took pains to be polished and elegant. The wrought iron staircase added a beautiful touch. I also love the leather booths and fire places. The music was of the era and really made you feel as though you were stepping back in time. The only thing modern inside is the fish tank, which is MASSIVE, and pretty spectacular. I want to give a shout out to Tony, our server, who was excellent! We had a large table upstairs and he made many, many trips up to us with drinks, apps and then our dinners, not missing a beat; knowing exactly who ordered what and doing so with a fantastic attitude and fun personality. The food was wonderful, especially my meat loaf! Although my friends would beg to differ. Everyone ordered something different and each raved about their meal being the best. From seafood pastas (I saw shrimp scampi at our table) to salmon oscar filet to filet mignon to Osso Buco Pork (which looked like a turkey leg on steroids). I know the menu was limited due to covid but it did not feel that way and we all got something we very much wanted. Us gals all really enjoyed their cucumber kamikazes and their signature Old Fashioned. The guys mostly drank bourbon. When came here on a recommendation from a friend who lives in the area. He and his wife are fancy so I know we would not walk away disappointed - and we did not. I tried to take my dad here for Father's Day but covid had closed them down and then they were struggling to get fully staffed once back up and running. We absolutely love Bumpers! The food is always great, the ambiance is wonderful and the service is outstanding! Our favorite server there is Mya. She always makes us feel so welcome and is always making sure we are taking care of, even when they are busy. Mya is who we request every time we go in. Our amazing experiences just wouldn't be the same without her! On our most recent visit, we had the Parmesan Encrusted Ham & Cheese, which was outstanding! The parmesan crust on the outside of the sandwich is so good and it adds a great texture to the sandwich. My daughter had the Bumpers Reuben and it's one of the best ones we've ever had. The drinks are always great but make sure you try the Hungarian mushroom soup! It is absolutely amazing. I know it is early to make this call, but Bumpers takes the prize for most disappointing meal of 2024. We were so excited to try it since the reviews were so positive, but the food was insanely bland! We went on a Friday night, table for 2, shared the calamari and fondue appetizers, I got a burger, and my boyfriend got the Cajun shrimp pasta. The fondue was served in a regular bowl, not something that stays warm like a fondue warmer... so the cheese immediately started getting cold and forming a film. The calamari was fine, nothing special but nothing offensive. The Cajun pasta was mediocre at best with minimal Cajun flavors. And worst of all, the burger was flavorless and was very clearly a pre-formed burger. Pretty ridiculous to charge so much when you're not even forming the patties, nor seasoning them for that matter. Service was impeccable, but sadly the best things we tasted were our fountain sodas. We will never be returning, and cannot understand how it is rated where it is. read more
