Well, we finally got to try the new location. Old Sweet Betty's was GREAT! Awesome staff, awesome food...sadly, that's not the case any longer. We came in on 11/21/21. We were sat at the bar even though there were multiple tables open - just all dirty still. The (overly sticky) bar had a swarm of fruit flies. It was so bad a server had to toss two pours of orange juice for mimosas because flies landed in the juice twice in a row! I'm sure the uncovered trash can just behind the bar wasn't helping (great view to see when you're supposed to be eating!) The bar sink was right in front of my seat and the busser came to empty drinks...tossing the leftover drinks aggressively into the sink splashing rogue drops of other people's drinks all over the counter and into my water cup. Speaking of water cups...we were given PLASTIC single use cups! WHAT?!? Not even compostable. Just cheap horrible plastic? WHY?!? There were massive amounts of glass cups available. As I looked around - all tables had plastic water cups. Disappointing. Now for the food. Awful. My plate came out totally cold. My home fries were cold. Like zero heat. The guy next to us actually had to send his plate back as well for it being totally cold too! The food has gone way downhill and the prices have skyrocketed! They were asking 17.95 for a French toast special! WHAT?!? No thanks! My husbands undercooked Big Bomber was totally undercooked. Crunchy potatoes. No thanks! Gross coffee too. Our waitress was kind and knocked a couple bucks off of our bill because of the cold food. The food was so bad! I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. My son and I ordered Bettys burger and it was just so bland, the bread became soggy as we ate. After being sent to two different people, he was finally told that they had cancelled all to go orders. Outstanding food, congenial wait staff and iconic decor all adds up to a delightful experience. Even though I live over 200 miles away, coming here for breakfast is a huge temptation. This is a must for anyone who enjoys quality food prepared and served by a highly qualified staff. Always examine the "specials" board, I had the Texas French toast stuffed with pastry cream and pecans then smothered with whipped cream, strawberries,blueberries, blackberries and raspberries. Cute spot with unique decorations. The menu features the standard American fare. I feel that the prices are a bit high for the quality of the food, but it isn't bad. They keep deleting my review so here it is.If youre thinking of going to Sweet Bettys, DONT. This is the worst experience ive ever had , the owner is rude and has a disgusting attitude. I went in FRIDAY MORNING, with a group of 12 I called in advance to make a reservation they said thats fine we dont have seating for 12 people inside but we have the outside patio, I said perfect were ok with that, well be there shortly. We show up and theirs no line so I walk up to the stand and tell the lady we called and made a reservation for the outside patio, she said shell have to get something ready bc no one told her about it but we could wait out at the patio. They had two rounded tables and we stood there for 20 min as they tried every way possible to try to fit us in two little tables, finally after 20 min we sit down and they give us a "new" server ok no problem. Until, he had no idea what drinks they served, the menu had not a single drink on it so ok I ordered a water my husband asked if they had chocolate milk he said yes so we ordered that and a kids apple juice. He leaves comes back with a water and an ADULT apple juice no chocolate milk, then he starts handing us silverware and my god was it the most disgusting thing ive ever seen, the man starts touching the part you eat with while setting it on our table, dirt under his nails and all but me being the patient person I am I said its ok ill ask for platicware so I did and it was fine. Then a female server came to take our order so we ordered and then the waiting game began, we sat there for an hour and thirty minutes for our food with absolutely no updates, no refills nothing. Finally, the food comes out and they have various things missing from a pancake from one order to a WHOLE MEAL, not just one either 2-3 meals so after waiting an hour and a half we now wait 20 more minutes and the best part about this is when I got my meal it apparently came with a side of HAIR isnt that generous of them? Oh and the way they handled it was perfect, took my meal without apologizing for it and left. After that we ate and were ready to pay, the server came up to me and the audacity of this girl when she said "I didnt charge you for your drinks because of what you guys went through today" I literally laughed because she was talking about the apple juice I ordered, ONE DRINK! So our group left, i went on their website and left A review only for their owner to call it fake and then say he remembers us on another review? So is my review fake or are you just mad were calling you out on it ? Also we did not come in on a sunday, we did not try to fit in a booth theirs 12 of us come on be real and our order was nowhere near "crazy" if french toast is too crazy for you maybe you should try shutting the business down, I think itd do us all a great favor. The table service at Sweet Betty's is excellent! It's one of the reasons that I eat here. It's a busy place and that alone speaks volumes for the caliber and quality. I only had to wait a short time and was seated within five minutes. Beyond that I was a little disappointed with the food. The Big Bomber that I had was big on red skin potatoes small on everything else. There was a little onions, green pepper, sour cream and cheese. I don't eat pork so topped with sausage gravy is not an option for me. That too was skimpy. The food tastes good but really is overwhelmed by potatoes. I added a couple of scrambled eggs because I wanted the added protein. I'm glad that I did because had I not, I would have been overloaded with potatoes. There's just far too many potatoes! I noticed that there were two types of red pepper sauce on the table and requested some green sauce. Most places have green Tabasco sauce. My server told me she would bring me some green sauce. It was served in two portion cups that I didn't know that I would be charged extra for. It's listed on my check for $1 extra. My preference is to not point it out if it was worth it, but the principle remains that I should have been informed that I would be charged for it. Beyond that as mentioned, customer service and cleanliness are excellent. read more

After several trips to the new location, we're done. Service is slow and dismissive but the food is fine. The "hostess" doesn't live up to her title and seems to delight in being as snotty as possible because there's a line of people waiting. Well, the line got a bit shorter because we won't be back. I was in Gresham on a work call and had some extra time, so I decided to see what the area restaurants are like. This is a really great little breakfast place. It's not easy to make these sorts of diners stand out, and this one actually has a surprising amount of local character. The staff is friendly and seems to be having a good time and the kitchen is really fast -- I had a small order, the pork scramble, but I saw other tables served just as fast with larger and more complex dishes. The decor is just "hip" enough to be noticeable and gives it flair beyond the typically dull breakfast diner atmosphere. The food itself was great. I mean, there isn't a whole lot extra you can do with scrambled eggs, meat, and cheese, but I left happy. Overall, I'd definitely visit again if I was in the area, but probably wouldn't drive over to Gresham just to do so. read more

Use to be one of the best breakfast establishments in Gresham, it has definitely went down hill. The quality of the food does not match the price tag. We sat at the high top bar and witnessed the cook use his phone numerous times then proceeded to cook with out washing his hands or at least putting on gloves. The other cook was eating food off the grill, on the other side there was a cook drinking his Red Bull while assembling food. The can was just sitting on the cutting board. Me and my girls went for brunch. The owner was pretty rude to my friend. The food is good. We had biscuits and gravy. I ordered a scramble instead of an omelette but it came as an omelette anyway.i usually don't like omelettes but they did a nice job. It was really moist and cooked well. Our pancakes were good but cold. The butter wouldn't even melt. I think it's because she forgot we ordered one initially. We reminded her. I can't remember the you t mans name but he was so sweet, attentive and kind that he made up for anything gone wrong. I'd say this place is really good for food, but the service might bring it down. This was my first time going to sweet Betty's they relocated at Gresham station behind the Best Buy. The waitress we had was very sweet and nice with us, my friend and I had there OJ mimosas I had the pineapple and my friend the grapefruit, both disgusting, super nasty flavors and very bitter, imagine had we gotten the bucket Mimosa that the server suggested lol... The food was good I had the biscuits and gravy, next time I would get the half portion, but it actually wasn't bad. My friend had there classic breakfast which was basic breakfast food, there sausage tasted weird and there bacon was to hard, we also had their raspberry French toast which was okay, it comes with raspberry bread, we asked if it came with raspberries and the waitress said it was it would but come topped with the berries like we thought it would. Welp, Betty's is over for me. I loved it at the old spot; they must have lost most of their staff, which I could understand, but making excuses for bad service won't fly. I got takeout a few weeks ago and was met by a sign in the lobby that basically told me to go home. It said if I didn't like it loud, go elsewhere. If I wanted to linger over my food, go elsewhere. It would take a while, since servers were in training. The time they gave me on the phone was off, so my takeout was cold, even though I was waiting right outside. Just delicious and a welcome change from cooking at home. Wow! This place was awesome. Small and intimate and also kitschy, we stopped in for breakfast after a lousy night in a nearby motel. This place made up for it in spades. We got right in and were offered a table with a straight shot to the play area for children. That's right, a play area! Our 2 loved it! They played in the little kitchenette while we waited for our food. The waitress was very accommodating and saw to our every need. I ordered the special Huevos Multulenos. The description read "2 fried tortillas with bacon, ham, fried eggs, rancheros sauce, fried plantain, sweet peas, queso fresco." This is one of the best things I've ever had, bar none. Expertly prepared, the flavor combinations were stellar, not to mention that it came with home fries made from red skinned potatoes. First of all, the food here is great. It's very cheap and I always find the ingredients to be fresh. Huge portions as well, so sharing is easy. It's a cute little place with odd decor and fun stuff to look at. But when I say little I mean- LITTLE. Coming here on a weekend for brunch is always a 30 minute wait least. There's also minimal waiting room so be prepared to stand inside cramped against strangers or outside in the rain. The host is a younger kid with long hair. He always looks like he's getting ready to go skateboarding. He is also unbelievably slow. The last time I was here there was probably 15 people waiting for a table and he took his sweet time cleaning tables and removing plates. There was no urgency, no rush. He's also not pleasant. Very cold demeanor and quiet voice. I would highly recommend retraining or replacing. I would give this place 5 stars if not for him, honestly. It's glaringly awkward when he's working. There's another review that says he's hard working and I nearly laughed out loud, maybe another host works some days? Regardless I find that hard to believe. Bartender was amazing this morning. She made 2 cocktails that weren't on the menu... A spiked hot apple cider and a rumchata. Both were delicious. We started with a half order of biscuits and gravy which were . I had a burger, my friend had an omelette. I've been a regular at Sweet Betty's for several years now, and they just keep getting better & better (or sweeter & sweeter ; ) -Love their veg omelet choices, particularly the artichoke. Their bread & home fries are also some of the best I've ever had. The staff are friendly & the new space at Gresham Civic Center is *fantastic*! Love Betty's decor choices & the overall inclusive feel of the space, the music, the outdoor seating options & location next to the Max. The little gift shop they've opened is also fun & a reason to visit in & of itself. I wish they would offer veg sausage as a side (not sure why more breakfast/brunch spots don't do this, considering even open-minded, healthy omnivores appreciate plant-based options) but overall again, I love Sweet Betty's, it's a Gresham institution, and I highly recommend! read more
