The Italian-style floor tiles, simple yet elegant chairs and table, and refined and elegant-feeling counters, display cases, and cabinetry are a vibe we haven't had in the Gresham/Troutdale/Fairview area and its a welcome addition to this area! I'll add that the chairs they selected are super comfy too--difficult to say that about most coffeeshops! In the background was a concious-of-conversations level of soft jazz music playing. Do note, though, if you have noisy and rambunctious children perhaps choose the tables outdoors or get a "to go" order. Plenty of other local shops have kids play areas; this one doesn't and for this busy Mimi with exuberant grands I'm relieved to have a quieter option available here! I tried a hot, White Chocolate Raspberry Latte and a Pistachio Cornette. Both were delicious, though $14-ish for just two items seemed a bit pricey. Their Large (16oz) lattes have 4 shots of espresso. I asked to only have two because I can't handle that much caffeine. I thought they'd reduce the price since there were fewer shots; next time I'll ask for that since they charge more if you ask to add shots. They got it completely right on the balance of coffee, milk, and sweetner--not syrupy sweet like so many places and the slightly tart sprinkle of freeze-dried raspberries on top is delightful! Then there is the Pistachio Cornetto--melts in your mouth like a fine French croissant and the pistachio cream filling is smooth, sweet, and a dreamy pistacho flavor. All in all--despite the few criticisms stated here--Simply Coffee is worth a trip here if you are looking for a laid back, classy, quiet environment to sip your favorite beverage and take in the simplicity of your day. All of this taken together is why I give Simply Coffee !

But they seem to take their time in a way that meticulous and not inconsiderate. I did have to wait longer than expected, but without asking, the barista gave me a coupon for a free drink on my next visit for the inconvenience. Outstanding customer service! The bathrooms are clean. Parking is easy. And there's something undeniably comfortable about this atmosphere that's just right regardless of your mood. The pastry cases look wonderful. The coffee was fresh, hot, and delicious. So wonderful to have an infusion of something new and promising on Hayden Island. It's a developing venture at this early stage. The interior is charming and I hope the tucked away (behind the food truck) location isn't a barrier to its success. Did I mention it's energizing for my sleepy neighborhood to have a sweet cafe to gather? I'm excited and am ready to commit to a weekly trip here.

It has lots of tables, a few sofas to sit down and enjoy your coffee and also kind of a bar counter sitting as well. It also has some tables outside when the weather is inviting. It has a Scandinavian vibe of decor which I love. For a Sunday morning it was super busy. Service is super fast and they are very friendly. They have great coffee options including some very interesting Specialty drinks like their Turmeric Latte. They also have their in house made syrups. They are a Coffee Roaster and their bean quality is excellent. We ordered a Lavender Cappuccino and a Turmeric Latte. Wow, they were both delicious. They do have fresh pastries but nothing gluten free. Definitely a place to hang out and enjoy your coffee alone or with friends and family.

I wasn't sticking around, but there were open tables. Things were clean. They also have plenty of room to sit outside if you'd like. There are pastries and some cold drinks in a case. There aren't a lot of gluten free options, but they did have one muffin I could have had. The drink preparation takes a bit of time. There were people already waiting and many of their drinks have special preparations (pour overs, steeping the tea). Have a minute to wait. I had the London Fog and the baristas advice held true. The flavor was worth the wait and I will surely go back. They roast their own coffee and make you feel welcome. Plus, there's a bookstore across the street. Love all around.

Unfortunately, though, I have to…read morerate this down because my husband and I both had allergic reactions to something (we're both allergic to nuts). We're not sure what it was, it could have been the morning bun so I asked a barista. The pastries have some allergen information in the placards but when I get an allergic reaction, I want to make sure and ask. They looked through the ingredients list/binder and they couldn't find the ingredients for the morning bun. Luckily, my husband and my allergies are pretty mild, but this seems pretty dangerous. If you have any kind of allergy, I don't think this is the place for you.
