There's construction going on in the area as of 10/2024 but the vibe of this place is very relaxing and perfect for the PNW. Got an Americano to actually taste the coffee and received prompt service with a smile. Coffee wasn't bitter and served in a nice mug to sip from. Definitely recommend stopping by! If you like black coffee with a lot of flavor notes, you will their coffee. Lavender Chai - I normally would not order chai, let alone a flavored chai. But I got to try a sip from a friend and this one was actually quite enjoyable. The lavender doesn't overpower the chai. Big thumbs up for that. Pastries - I tried two, a bacon scone perhaps? And I think a breakfast sandwich of some kind. I'm not adding a lot of detail because they weren't super memorable. Normal coffee shop fair, not what I would be coming back for. It's a big space, nice for meeting friends or sitting down to study or read. That area of Washougal is also quite nice to walk around. All of the baristas I spoke with were knowledgeable about their coffee selections and helped me choose a good drink. I will definitely be back to see them and try a few new roasts.

Stopped by this Le Petit Cafe counter inside of Troutdale Station recently…read more Troutdale Station is a food cart mall with about twenty food carts, a huge parking lot, and a central brick and mortar building with counters for drinks and snacks. One of said counters is a mini Le Petit Cafe. I ordered a marionberry macaron, and, wow. It's a serious contender for a new favorite. The cookie was crisp, light, and a bit airy. The dust on the shell was sour, while the creme filling was sweet. This gave eating it a similar experience to eating a freshly picked blackberry. Certainly one of the most creative macarons I've ever tried. It was a whole experience. I guess it was my lucky day, because as I was ordering, the Barista asked me if I wanted a complimentary coffee drink that had been made by accident. I don't even remember what it was called, but it was amazing. I think it was some kind of vanilla latte. I came back on a second occasion and ordered a 12 ounce caramel latte with a pistachio macaron. I loved the latte, but this time, the macaron was bad. It was so stale that I considered asking for a different flavor. Overall I loved the coffee but found everything to be a little high priced based on the quality. I would still stop by here for a coffee in the future because Troutdale Station has free wifi for customers, and this is the best coffee spot there that I know of.

I…read morehighly recommend checking out this place (and the town as a whole) during the holidays-- the whole Main Street is decorated, and it seems like every business is on board. Walking into the Soda Shop, it feels like a kid's daydream. There was candy and souvenirs everywhere, a big ice cream counter, and, of course, the soda shop. I noticed that they also sell food here-- it smelled amazing and I would definitely give it a try if I came again. Ordering was easy, and the young man behind the counter was really helpful-- I had never been to a soda hop before, so I had some questions about the options. He did not make me feel silly for having questions, and he did a good job of both training his coworker and being attentive to the line at the same time. I ordered a sugar free salted caramel soda (there were so many sugar free options!!!) It was delightful. I was a little apprehensive that it would actually taste like the flavor, but I was pleasantly surprised. The price point is higher than you would pay for a normal soda, but I think that the novelty of the experience is worth it. We had a great time, and would definitely return (I want to see the upper level, too-- that was closed for a private event when we stopped in).

They put so much care into everything. Listen- always get the salad here. They're always delicious and contain surprises. This time we got marinated rhubarb, which is in season, and which I'm excited to make and put in my own spring salads at home. Also, edible flowers, and while we ate lunch, we saw a worker picking them from the little garden. The sandwich was a shrimp roll, which was great, maybe with homemade bread? It was perfect. The sandwich was zesty, with a remoulade and little pickled jalapeños. And what were those crunchy things on top? Crushed barbecue potato chips! A delightful detail most restaurants wouldn't bother with. And the soft serve sundaes, which are also full of artistry and interesting textures! You have to get one.
