You must try Ham & Cheese Croissants. Not only are they delicious they are also HUGE. They have a drive-thru, it's really skinny, so beware if you're in an SUV. The owner and his family are all really nice. This is a must go if you are in Carlsbad, just like VG's is if you are in Cardiff. read more

I didn't like their donuts... that's never happened before. I tried the chocolate and glazed and ended up tossing them. I don't think they are sweet enough, like the icing majorly lacked sugar. Love that they have a drive-through! And both the father and son are so welcoming(: I work nearby and after coming in only two times before, they remember my name and usual order. I generally get any kind of stuffed crescent they have and they generally throw in a few donut holes in the bag as well. The donuts taste pretty classic-nothing crazy unique but that's what I prefer! This little corner shop is a local favorite! The coffee is freshly brewed. On the weekends treat yourself to the cookie monster. The rest of the week I recommend you try the rainbow on clouds donut, the custard filled glazed, the jelly filled and the maple bacon bar. I also recommend a asking for a sandwich. I love this little donut place! the donuts are always fresh. my favorite one is a toasted coconut bar with whipped cream in the middle. the owners are friendly. the girl who is always there helped my son open his little carton of milk. that was sweet of her. the man knows his regulars that come through the drive through. he starts fixing people's coffee as he sees them pull up. the apple fritters are amazing! crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. not giant grease bombs like other places. come to super donut. you'll be glad you did. :) read more

I hate to be mean, but for downtown Carlsbad which is known for it's Food and Beverage scene, this is not a choice for one of them. Even though, it's just your standard donut shop, the donuts should at least be a little tasty? They are badly made and overpriced. There is no other place to get donuts in downtown Carlsbad so there is no choice, unless you feel like driving a couple miles. Anyhow, I hope this comment will be taken into consideration and the shop will eventually upgrade its baking technique. I mean, at least if your going charge high prices for donut holes, then make some bomb ass yeast cakes, maaaaan!??.....BABY!? ;o), I mean c'mon! The kids coppin' on skid row! Oh yeah, Future tip. Family run, we were incredibly impressed with the daughter who worked at the Carlsbad location (I hear she's in Encinitas now) as she remembered my kids' names months after we had been there last. Pricing is OK and quality is above average though not quite a perfect 10. That last line is a bit unfair. I am comparing them with a much bigger family shop in another town. By far the best donuts in San Diego!!!! Stopped by one day and was blown away at the selection (was around 10am) and the service Got a glazed crueler, fruity pebbles, apple fritter and a few more. The crueler was light and crunchy and the best one I've ever had. The apple fritter was the perfect amount of apple chunks and perfectly fried. This place is seriously so amazing! I've been to so many donut places (even those fancy places with cinnamon swirl pecan pie donuts with pumpkin glaze ) and this place tops them all. I had the lemon pistachio donut and WOW. Really amazing. My sister got the Nutella filled donut and the peanut glaze donut; both amazing. Their prices are also amazing. We got all 3 donuts for $5. Donuts were huge and I'd pay $1.50 everyday to have one of these donuts. Worker was also extremely nice. Seriously a hidden gem. read more

omg, i am still thinking about the donuts from this tiny corner joint in a sunny beach town. i traveled here a few weeks ago for a mini-vacation. happened into super donuts one morning and ended up back each day thereafter for the chocolate-cinnamon glazed donut. the freshest, yummiest donut i've ever tasted. they even filled a donut with fresh cream, on the spot. kinda like a cannoli, right? something tells me that my hometown has some worthy donuts but i don't need to know where they live, really. if you're nearby and craving deliciousness -- be sure to get there early, they close by noon. read more

The apple fritter is the best I have EVER had. Slightly crunchy on the outside and so soft on the inside; it literally melts in your mouth. And if you go early enough, you can get them still warm out of the oven. The maples bars are also delicious. I think I will have to try the bear claw with all the reviews I saw about that. read more

We felt compelled to comment because we were so impressed with this little place and surprised by some bad reviews. We are from Wisconsin where donuts are a serious thing. Passed this donut shop the night before and noticed all the cases were empty. The next morning everything was fresh and some were still warm. We have never had an apple fritter that good and the bacon topped maple longjohns also are excellent. Even the simple cake donuts had that touch of nutmeg you find in old recipes, and they have old-fashioned crullers as well. The service was cheerful and quick and the prices are unbelievably low. We loved the mid century look as well. They only take cash but bring a $10 bill and you'll be covered. read more

We stop by almost every Sunday morning after Don's Country Kitchen next door. His buttermilk donuts and bars are perfection. The best is the chocolate bar donut, and ask for it with whipped cream. He takes the donut, slices it lengthwise like a sub-sandwich, and fills the entire thing with fresh whipped cream! He usually has one or two decorated donuts fun for kids. Soooo... I was eager to try these donuts as I had walked by the store before and they had been sold out and closed in the late morning. I thought that was a good sign. When I went this morning the donuts were ok. Just ok. (Plain glazed) the other cake and fritter donuts were bland and heavy. The weirdest thing though. We were there early (just before 7am) and the owner(?) was unloading the trays of donuts out of the trunk of his sedan and bringing them in. !!! They are definitely not made on the premises. The question is where are they made? And is it cool to move uncovered food in the back of a car??? I will pass on this place in the future. read more
