Friendly, attentive, efficient and professional. She made our experience here seamless and very enjoyable! You couldn't ask for better service. She gave great food recommendations. Also, Jeff (the manager) stopped by our table, took the time to chat with us and made us feel right at home. We appreciated the old-school St. Augustine Southern hospitality that has been lost since the inevitable growth of the area. You definitely can't go wrong with their Fried Shrimp and Chicken Wings (loved the flavors of that buttery Garlic Parm)! Both seasoned and cooked to perfection. The ample outside seating steps away from the beach, feeling the breeze off of the Atlantic Ocean, a truly laid-back atmosphere, sunburnt tourist watching and counting all the Jeeps heading out to brave the soft sand while enjoying an ice cold beer or sweet tea...so priceless.

She started us out with baked oysters and they were good, but it was too much bacon and cheese for me personally. It overwhelmed the oyster flavor, but if you're trying oysters for the first time or wanna please a picky group then these are good. My daughter got the stuffed flounder with corn casserole as we called it, as her side. It was delicious! Probably the best thing ordered! Tacos and kids grilled fish was great too! Definitely a solid amount of fish nuggets in the taco. The fries were some of the best ive ever had. For the seafood feast, we ordered scampi style and it was good, but it reminded me of a clam sauce style, not really buttery and garlicky. It was still good, but what disappointed me was the melted plastic bag served at the table. It was difficult to open, even our server had trouble opening. Idk why everyone loves serving food in plastic bags. It's sooo hot from the steam that plastic leaches into the food. I don't get the infatuation with this, unless you're ordering to go. The fans upstairs are a nice and necessary touch and not too hot up there, despite being summer in July. I would go back and order the stuffed flounder again! Seriously, that was the best thing we ordered. Ashley was johnny on the spot too!

I'm accustomed to the batter being too greasy (cooked too long or left in too low a temp), or the fish being mushy or overcooked. This sandwich was neither of those things! The fish was firm, flaky, and delicious, and the fried batter was the best I've had in at least two decades. All of the toppings (lettuce, tomato, onions, lettuce) were fresh and crispy. The house tartar sauce was superb! Just enough dill to add tangy seasoning and not overbearingly sweet, like most tartar sauces. I was so impressed that I actually wanted to meet Randy, who prepared that amazing meal. Add to that the service provided by Brendan, our waiter, who was legitimately friendly, very knowledgable, and super- attentive! Management did come by to check on our experience, and they seemed like they genuinely cared how everything was. I would absolutely recommend Crabby's to anyone who wants a relaxing and delicious seafood meal in a comfortable and clean restaurant. Well done!

Our server Derek was very attentive and helpful with making some decisions. We enjoyed starting with the Hush Puppies and a cocktail - their Pina Colada! We must say they were the best hush puppies we have had in a long while! Perfect crunchy outside and SO moist inside! YUM! The Fish (Halibut) and chips were good. The outside was perfectly cooked, nice crunch with a delicious flavor, but some areas of the haddock were little over done. The French fries were good, but a bit on soggy side. The founder was stuffed with their crabcake mixture. The flounder was a little over cooked for my liking but everyone has their own preference. It had great seasoning and the crab was noticeable throughout the mixture. The mashed potatoes needing something, a bit dry. The tropical Cole slaw was fantastic!

Servers were friendly, a bit on the "chill" side but honestly just giving off the "island vibe". One thing to note, there appears to be and "indoor' type dining area and then a more outside, screened in type area. We accidentally entered to outside area and sat there before realizing this. It was a pretty pleasant evening and they did engage the fans out there but if it's a warmer period you might opt for Inside Dining. We had draft beer, the amber lager made for Mango Mangoes, Tasty and cold! Here's what is surprising, the menu is pretty varied but it's not so complicated that you get exhausted looking at it. Just enough to give everyone a choice and we were all about it. I had the Chipotle Shrimp Tacos with seasoned fries as my side. Really good! I was worried the Chipotle treatment might be overwhelming the shrimp but it was pretty subtle and the shrimp came through. There are plenty of sauces and seasonings on the table if you want to amp up the experience! Others had the Daily special Reuben, which they thought was a pretty standard Reuben but VERY good and worth a return trip just for that. We just returned from what should have been a nice dinner and are still trying to wash the taste…read moreout of our mouths. From bow to stern (nautical theme here) this was just a bad experience across the board! Our waiter had zero personality and acted as if he really didn't want to be there, the food was bad, and the cost was far more than the value provided. A rainy Sunday night and not very crowded - maybe 4 - 5 tables, but somehow our food managed to get lost in the kitchen and we waited way too long for food that was (in my case) completely inedible. My wife ordered the fresh catch halibut dinner grilled, and I ordered a blackened grouper sandwich. Both entrees were heavily salted; my wife tried to wipe the seasoning off her filet, which was at least decent sized. My sandwich contained the thinnest, saltiest piece of fish I'd ever been served, and I only managed a couple bites before giving up. My wife's filet wasn't fully cooked, and since we weren't eating sushi-grade fish, my wife was concerned about that. When she told our waiter he barely glanced at her plate and his response was "That's cooked. Some people are just finicky about the texture." "Finicky??" Are you sh**ing me?? How about saying "I'm sorry, would you like me to have it cooked more?" She also pointed at my sandwich and said that it was so salty I couldn't eat it, and all he said was "I'll be back." At least he didn't tell me I was being "finicky". The manager came over shortly after and explained that our server told him we weren't pleased with our meal. My wife explained the issues and his response "Too salty? I know who that is. One of our guys over-salts a lot. I'll talk to him." He then apologized and offered to get us something else, but I declined and said I was done. He vaguely pointed at our food and said he would "discount it". While we waited for the bill my wife took what was left of her fish to the house cat sitting on the patio, and the cat wouldn't even eat it! I'm sorry Mr manager, but if you know that one of your employees has issues with preparing food correctly... either educate them or replace them! Don't apologize and admit you're aware of bad food coming out of your kitchen! And then the topper - our bill came and a whopping $13.50 was discounted from almost $90! He didn't even take off the full cost of my sandwich which was still sitting on my plate! We usually try to give benefit of the doubt to restaurants, but this experience was bad enough that we both agreed we will NOT return. This is a prime example of why zero stars should be allowed!

Now that we've officially moved here, we've been back about three more times, and somehow I love it more every time. If you enjoy seafood and New Orleans-style food, this is definitely a place to put on your St. Augustine list! The service has always been good, the drinks are great, and yes, there's usually a wait, but honestly, it goes by pretty quickly. We typically grab a drink and hang outside while we wait for our buzzer to go off, which makes the wait feel much more enjoyable. I have a few favorites here that I find myself coming back to: Redfish Alexandria, absolutely delicious and one of my favorites. Andouille Crusted Grouper , another standout if you're looking for something flavorful and seafood-focused. My first choice now that the low country pasta isn't available Crab Cakes, always a good choice for appetizer. Low Country Pasta, this was a special during their Mardi Gras menu, and I was SO SAD to find out it wasn't a regular menu item because I would order this all the time! My first choice And please save room for dessert because the fried Oreos are a MUST-TRY! Parking in this part of St. Augustine can be a little difficult, but that's pretty typical for the area and definitely wouldn't stop me from coming here.
