On a recent trip to Bend, the event I attended was hosted at the Sunriver Resort and what a beautiful spot to spend some time! It was at the tail end of winter, with cold nights and wet days. Rooms have gas fireplaces, with outdoor seating and porches for warmer weather. Checkin was great in the main lodge. They had many friendly employees. There's a bar and restaurant here that I didn't have time to visit! The grounds have paved trails all over, with quick walks or bike rides to restaurants, bars, and outdoor activities. They have a free shuttle that can get you around to places quicker too! My room was gorgeous, with high ceilings, wood, and soft decor. The bathroom was very modern and comfortable. Worth the cost. Another place I really wanted to visit was the indoor heated pool area that looked amazing. Maybe next time! For the event we had catered amazing meals of local produce and meats, so many flavorful items. The event spaces all have a lodge feel to them as well, comfortable. I highly recommend staying here for a few days if you're in the area. read more

Buyer beware!!! We are a family of 5 who planned a vacation at Sunriver Resort and had to pay for it prior to going. Unfortunately, we could not go due to the fires and severe smoke in early August. It cost us a lot of money and were surprised that they would not give us a credit or anything. Very disappointed! Had they offered us something, it would be an improvement. My wife and I have visited the resort many times over the years. We've eaten some of restaurants both the resort and the Village shopping areas. Lots to see and do. It's a great vacation spot. River access for kayaks, tubbing, stand up paddling. I recommend this place. read more

We went to Silver Resort to see the Christmas lights show, the resort is beautiful and they have couple nice cafes and bars and a gift shop. The front of the Resort was decorated very beautifully with Christmas lights and also n the back side of the Resort in the garden was light up and was supposed have a light show, but at the entrance the employee mentioned that they been having electricity problem, because of the heavy rain and flooding in the area, so the lights they were having problems. It was a nice Christmas lights viewing. The staff was very nice and friendly. read more

What an absolutely beautiful resort! Was here with my family in town for a family vacation. This resort is perfect for families, couples, friends, whatever. We stayed at a property within the resort area, so we got access to the resort pools and activities. We also enjoyed their river float that they do as well! It has amazing views, especially of Mt. Bachelor. The river float was by far my favorite part of the entire trip. They shuttle you up the river and the staff is incredibly knowledgeable. The float is extremely peaceful. We did a Saturday and it wasn't busy at all, which I really liked. The views were stunning. And like I said, the staff was incredible! The pool was also pretty amazing as well. Being from Vegas, the lazy river was a bit smaller than I thought hahaha. But still a great pool for families. You can't bring alcohol over by the pool so that's one thing, but they do have a little food stand with drinks that you can enjoy on the patio. I would definitely come back here with my family again one day. The nature walks, the area, the river, the pool... it's just a beautiful place to relax and enjoy a summer vacation. read more

For some reason before I went, I looked the photos up here on Yelp and was afraid our room would be dumpy. They're not! They're really nice!! I think it's the color of the cabinets that make the photos not look great. The bed was very comfortable. The fireplace worked very well. The shower got hot quick and had good water pressure. View of the golf course was beautiful. The location is well maintained. Ac and heater were not too loud. Overall, very comfortable stay. Hotel cons: they only give two hand and face towels and you need to keep asking for them if you ever want more. You do have to request for room service before 11am otherwise you don't get it. There were weird dirty black spots in the bathroom walls towards the top. I don't think it's mold but just lady house cleaning. Rooms are pretty pricy. Food: that salad is weird. Steak was huge but it was sweet.....? Mashed potatoes and the broccolini was delicious. Deviled eggs are fresh! There's nothing worse than ordering them at restaurants and you can taste that they were premade. These were not premade. They were fresh. Eggs Benedict was fine. Pulled pork underneath was better than expected. Fresh fruit was indeed fresh. Biscuits and gravy was ok. Good gravy and meat flavor. Cinnamon roll was ok. Breading was dry. You'd have to eat it fresh. Had a tasty flavor on the maple icing though. read more

Had such an amazing time at Sunriver. It is an incredible resort with amazing amenities. The photos are from a private rehearsal dinner for a wedding I attended. It was done very well and everything tasted great. Especially the Cobb salad. The restaurants and bars here are great. There is a golf course and 6 mile loop running trail that goes around all the homes. Awesome destination. Can't speak on the skiing but want to come when it snows and check that out too. read more

Be cautious when booking through Sunriver Home Rentals. We were given the unit 7 Witch Hazel, but the property did not match the quality shown in the online listing. We found worn furnishings, aging mattresses, hair throughout the unit, dirty windows, sticky kitchen cabinets, crumb-covered countertops, cobwebs, and a strong odor in the kitchen. That unit hasn't seen a professional cleaning service, ever. After reporting the issues, we were offered another cleaning, but the overall condition made us uncomfortable staying there. The mattresses were at minimum 20 years old, and so was the bedding. We were told no alternative rentals were available. While Mary was courteous, our interaction with the front desk director, Kelly, was disappointing. Kelly was disgruntled, and made us feel like we were bothering her. She declined to inspect the property, and refused to accept our concerns. She advised us to either stay after it was cleaned or find another hotel. We expected a clean, accurately represented rental and a reasonable resolution, but unfortunately received neither. We paid top money for that unit, which is also false advertisement on Sunriver. read more

Unbelievable damage deposit policy at caldera springs, beware the property manager will take your deposit or a portion of it without cause. The homes have a lot of wear and tear, so it appears they use guests damage deposits to pay for upkeep. Family of 5 that barely was in home had portion of damage deposit taken, with no proof of pictures or cause. Do not rent here. read more

Sun River Resort, was started in the late 60's ,I first visited it in the early 70's. It's in Central Oregon, just south of Bend Oregon. Nestled close to the Central Cascade mountain range. Close to the Deschutes river. ( Also there are over 150 lakes on the Deschutes National Forest. Most are small upper elevation lakes of varying sizes, accessed via the many miles of trails.) It is a very popular resort with cycling trails, golfing, skiing, spa, stores, restaurants, water sports, airport, horseback riding, fishing,ECT... Beautiful breathtaking views, with gorgeous nature, ponderosa pines, deer, bear, elk, owls, red tailed hawks, variety of fish ECT... Has something for everyone! Also has a history of a time gone by, with the Great Hall, was Fort Abbott training 90,000 men, engineering skills.built with 500 local logs. Was a barn, then turned into an officer's club. Our room was supposed to be ready at 4pm, which is already an obscenely late check in. The desk clerk, who appeared sullen and bored with his job, said it wasn't ready, but it would be ready in 30 minutes. We got a text 85 minutes later that our room was ready. We were given map that was nearly impossible to navigate in the dark given how poorly marked and lit the buildings are. After driving in circles for twenty minutes we found our building. The room was drab and the gas fireplace didn't work. Also, only a handful of channels on the TV. Better options in a cut-rate freeway motel. Not worth the drive from Bend. I recently attended a work-related conference at Sunriver Resort in Bend, Oregon, an area I love visiting for natural beauty and sunshine. As a first-timer at Sunriver, I didn't know what to expect from the resort. The natural surroundings were very much taken into consideration when designing the resort. The buildings and signage blend into the landscape; natural colors and construction materials let the trees, sky and beautiful river take center stage. If you are looking for peace and quiet, in a low-key setting, you've come to the right place. Because I was here for work, my review is mostly about my dealings with catering and banquet services. As a guest of the resort, my experience was top-notch! My room was well-appointed, and had a marvelous view of a green pasture with glimpses of the river in the background. I particularly enjoyed the soaring vaulted ceilings in the room, as well as the gas fireplace that really sold the cabin in the woods ambiance. I appreciated the ease of booking a pet-friendly room, however I wish the $50 a night pet fee were a bit more reasonable. Joey Tryon, the convention service manager, is the primary reason I wanted to write this review. His dedication to ensuring our conference was a success was evident from the start. He showed impressive attention to detail, genuine professionalism, and made us feel we were in capable hands at all times. Every aspect of our meeting was flawless. Joey's ever-present smile was charming and reassuring, and made us feel like we were family... even if only for the weekend. The menu featured a selection of dishes that showcased regional flavors; grass fed beef, wild salmon, and locally sourced produce show pride for all things Pacific Northwest. Each meal was expertly prepared and tasted wonderful. Several dishes needed a little more color and artistry to make them stand out, but I had no complaints in relation to flavor or portion size. Everyone in my team was pleased with the meals they were served. During my stay I made a point of exploring the resort's recreational offerings, including the spa and pool facilities, as well as the miles and miles of beautiful nature trails. Much of the facility is in the early stages of feeling dated, but the resort engineering team keeps the property well maintained. The staff are enthusiastic about meeting guest needs, which makes for an enjoyable stay. What more could I ask for? I'd definitely consider coming back for another stay. read more

We rented 1 Poplar for 8 days and are on day 6. Just a few issues we've had so far: The batteries in the Yale front door lock failed within 30 minutes of our arrival. It took about 45 minutes for service to come out so we pulled the battery to stop the incessant beeping. He just put them back and left so within minutes it started again. We took the batteries out. With only one house key for six adults we either had to decide who would stay home or to leave the door unlocked. The second night, when we cooked in, the oven would not turn off. We had to turn it off and on by the breaker to ensure it cooled. Meanwhile, as we tried to vent the heat out using the microwave fan, we realized it vents into the kitchen - there is no vent to the outside of the house. Regarding cleanliness, in the afternoon, when the sun was coming in, the carpet on the stairway smelled like cat pee. The couple staying upstairs avoided their room at all costs until nightfall. Whereas the add says it could sleep 8 apparently they only prepare for six. Housekeepers didn't make the beds on either upper bunk so we had to do that ourselves. And speaking of bedding, the king mattress in the upstairs master had only a queen fitted sheet so they had to fight the sheet coming off the bed every night. Having rented many homes here, I can also confidently say these people have no idea how to outfit a rental. 8 people eating and washing dishes daily and only two kitchen hand towels and two wash rags. We ran out of trash bags, dish soap, laundry soap, and they literally had one BBQ tool. Don't even get me started with the spider infestation - ugh - I am sure we killed 20-30 while staying here so far. The location was good and free access to The Cove were the only highlights. If this is common for Sunriver Resort Rentals, I will go back to Sunriver Realty in a heartbeat! Boo - 2/10 people! read more

Such a beautiful, relaxing, friendly, fun place! We rented bikes since there are great bike paths all over. They have golf right here, as well. Wonderful restaurants here and close by at the Village. Honestly the customer service was subpar. The rooms are outdated. The activities available is great but all the employees seemed tired and annoyed with our being there. The spa was being renovated so I got the hotel room massage. It was very meh with crazy high prices that should warrant way better service. The food was alright and cost 5x what it should. read more

My stay was NOT GOOD because the TV and the Cast&Stream function were not working. I missed out on Game 7 of the World Series. I called the front desk to let them know that my TV was not working. The person I talked to said that the phone-to-TV function had not been working for some time...but IT was working on it. What a bummer of a visit that was not cheap. read more

We just spent a couple nights at Sunriver resort, and this is only pertaining to the lodging, but I will not come back. I've been coming since 1990 and the rooms are really at an all-time low. They are musty smelling, extremely dated, and you almost have to be a trapeze artist to take a shower. In addition to that, trying to figure out the TV is an adventure. They have also started some sort of texting system where you're supposed to communicate with them, but in the two days I was there I sent them two or three messages and they never responded. All in all, this place needs a huge, huge makeover. And for the money, things should be so much better. Rent one of the houses would be my recommendation. read more

Our room was awesome! One of the nicest I can remember and I've stayed at the Ritz and the Waldorf. Super Cozy and great bathroom and fireplace. The grounds and spacious with several good (not great) dining options. People were super nice as well. Paid $300 so that was an off season bargain. Would think differently if I was paying closer to $600 in the height of the season. Lots of activities including pickle ball now and several golf options. I would say 4.5 stars actually. I visited this resort for a work function and enjoyed my time. The staff was helpful at all points. My room had an electric fire place, a big balcony with rocking chairs I loved lounging in and the coziest bed full of pillows so I was very comfortable! The breakfast buffet was delicious though our dinner selection gave the impression of being pulled out the fridge recently due to the amount of kinda cold items. But we were delighted to see a s'mores station set up near the fire pits outback. Enjoying the warmth from the fire while sipping wine, making s'mores and socializing was my favorite memory of the night. How fun! I didn't go swimming but noticed the pool building had a bar and food area, hot tubs and an area with couches. There's a small shopping village in walking distance with a cute grocery store, coffee shops, a classic arcade, toy store, bookstore and all types of gift shops. They also have a bar called The Owls Nest with the best servers; very attentive. My next visit I hope to make use of the Spa services and maybe enjoy the pool for a while. Ultimately I would refer this resort to anyone who needs a break, fresh mountain air and relaxation. read more

I was sent a survey from this properties 'management company' (we all should be careful what we ask for...), and so I shared a handful of experiences that could have gone better... To my surprise a representative of the management company reached out and shared a conversation with me that was absolutely spot on perfect. Not only did I feel heard, but I was beyond surprised by the personal aspect that left me feeling this company is different than the typical rental agency. Sunriver's golf packages are a complete nightmare and I would steer clear of Sunriver at all costs. Initially, booking a trip for 16 guys with Sunriver seemed straightforward--they took my deposit without issue. But just a few days later, Sunriver called to cancel the entire reservation and refund the deposits because their golf packages supposedly don't get finalized until October or November. I waited patiently until late October when Sunriver rebooked the trip and took 16 individual deposits again. Shortly after, Sunriver sent tee times for the group but could only accommodate 3 tee times per day, which was clearly insufficient. After noticing this mistake, I contacted Sunriver to request the necessary 4 tee times per day. It took a lot of effort, but Sunriver finally confirmed the 4th tee time and assured me everything was set. Then, the Saturday before Christmas, Sunriver called again to inform me that due to another event, they could no longer accommodate our requested tee times or dates. I asked for callbacks from both the hospitality and golf management teams at Sunriver, who seem to operate separately but have some kind of agreement. I never received a single return call or explanation. Sunriver's entire operation is a joke--unprofessional, disorganized, and unreliable. Their handling of golf packages is a disaster, and I would never trust Sunriver for any group trip or golf event again. Avoid Sunriver if you want a hassle-free experience. read more

This review is for the marina only. Very helpful and friendly staff. Answered all my many questions and got my kids and me on our way for a fun rafting trip. Don't be fooled by price comparison. If you rent equipment here, they pick you up down river and shuttle you back to your car. Other places in Sunriver are cheaper, but also DIY where you have to haul everything yourself, and get back to your starting point on your own. We had a nice stay at the resort over President's Day weekend. Lucky for us, the grounds were covered in crisp white snow and it actually snowed during our first full day there which made it feel like a true winter wonderland. We had a River Lodge King suite with high ceilings and a double sided fireplace. I totally intended on getting a video of the room because it is quite large - complete with an entryway/mudroom bench, small bar area (no sink) with a fridge, microwave and coffee machine, a full living room with ample seating, bedroom and large bathroom with a jacuzzi tub. The room also has a generous balcony which over looks Sunriver. Spacious accommodations, totally cozy lodge vibes which beautiful views. I didn't know what to expect as it was our first time there, but I wish I had known our room would be on the second floor without an elevator. I also didn't realize that the rooms aren't connected with the main lodge/dining options so you have to walk outside to get to the restaurant which is fine, it just happened to be cold/icy during our trip and we didn't realize we'd have to go outside to access all of the amenities. It also would have been nice for all of these things to be explained to us upon check in, without having to ask. We didn't try any of the on property dining options as they seemed rather basic and overpriced. We ate our meals at the village - Cafe Sintra & Sunriver Brewing Co which were both excellent. read more

The resort and the golf is great. There are a few negative comments about guest relations so let me share my experience: The shuttle driver accidentally broke my driver (a speed hump shifted the bags and mine fell). Scott Orman, head of guest relations was all over it and at breakfast the next day gave me options of a replacement, cash or credit. I said go ahead and order the driver. It was to be a secondhand one, same as mine but that's fair as mine was not brand new. There was a mixup in the driver they ordered and it never shipped. I contacted Scott and today a brand new driver from XXIO arrived. I always tell employees it not whether or not you make a mistake with a customer, it is how you handle the fix that leaves an impression. Scott and the Sunriver team went above and beyond for me. read more

I've attended several annual work conferences at this location. The good: the property is beautiful. The not so good: the rooms are very dated and could use an intense clean and lots of updates. The bad: the restaurants at the lodge are STUPID expensive even though the company I work for pays for my meals when I'm attending a conference, I can't bring myself to pay the money Sunriver charges for food that is "meh" at best. The restaurant choices at Sunriver Village are a little better but year after year, I find myself bringing snacks to eat in my room or driving to Bend for meals. read more

Dog friendly resort!!! Reasonably priced. There are a few different options for rooms. I have stayed at this resort twice within the past year and we had different rooms each time. Both rooms were very clean, had patios with chairs, and comfortable mattresses. To note, they were in the process of replacing all their mattresses while we were there. Upon checkin, they text you so you have the ability to text them with ANYTHING you need. Their response time was about 20 to 25 minutes. BEAUTIFUL, well-kept grounds. Friendly staff. They offer a shuttle to pick-up and take you to different areas of the resort: three golf courses, restaurants, marina, etc. There are biking and walking trails GALORE around the entire area. They offer a "bike barn" so you can rent bikes if you do not bring your own. A very relaxing environment to be in while away from home. HIGHLY recommend taking canoe down the Deschutes River!!! The resort has a marina that you can take their shuttle to and then get on a canoe. They technically have two restaurants onsite in their main lodge; one has more of a lounge feel to it. Overall this resort is in a good location if you want to see some beautiful parts of Oregon, the rooms are nice & clean, but there were a couple not so great things about our stay too. Unfortunately the floors in the room above us were loud & creaked, which resulted in us being woken up every morning around 6:30 & 7:00 AM & the creaking went on for hours. Not ideal for a vacation where we wanted to rest a bit. The other issue was the pool was PACKED, like not enough umbrellas to shield the sun & not enough swimming room. The pool also doesn't allow any inside food or drink inside, so don't expect to enjoy a coffee by the pool. The vending machine by our room was also broken & stole other guests and our money. Just some things to consider before spending $400+ a night. read more

Resort was a great host for our USAmTour Golf Event. The room was very comfortable and overlooking the golf course, a little on the small side but overall very clean. We stayed in one of their villa rooms on the 11th hole of the Meadows Course, it had a nice king size bed that was very comfortable with multiple great pillows. All 3 Golf courses were in excellent shape and greens were absolutely perfect! Woodlands, Meadows and Crosswater all have their own personality and feel, you must play them all. Restaurant had some great offerings, on most nights we chose the locally sourced prime and dry aged steaks which were cooked to perfection (except one night with wrong temp on steak, but management bent over backwards to get everything perfect with the cook.) Outdoor patio was very nice and enjoyable, and all of the waitstaff and attendants were very nice, friendly, and service oriented. Sunriver Village was nearby, and we were able to do some gift shopping. There were so many other amenities... wish we had more time to enjoy. read more
