This campground left much to be desired. It was impossible to reach the campground on the phone after calling on numerous occasions over multiple days. Upon arrival at the campground, the bathrooms and showers were in a state of disrepair and disgust which made them entirely uncomfortable to use. Additionally, many of the amenities that this campground has come to be known for including river tubing usage were no longer offered. I will not be staying here any longer after being a frequent visitor for years. read more

The park itself is very nice, the park attendees are extremely nice, this park is almost worthy of five stars, with one simple, but crucial, exception from each and every site. No Sewer Hookup. They said keep trying to do it but can't because of the river nearby and it gets turned down, but they keep trying........ Thousand trails really doesn't put money into parks like they should, but they really should add sewer as that's a common necessity in today's camping world. When, or if, they add sewer will update to five stars. Really do enjoy this park a lot. read more

The camp sites are very spacious. But all the amenities are a huge disappointment. We needed to use the lodge for card games. We had to clean it ourselves. We tried to ask the manager, Spencer Jones for assistance but she would not even answer her office door even though we could hear she was there. Excellent campground! So far, this is my favorite Thousand Trails campground. I had decided to cancel my membership because the other Oregon and Washington parks are in such bad shape . This amazing camp is making me re-think. We came during COVID, so the pool, clubhouse , and other amenities were closed . They look nice! Of course, everything looks clean when nobody is using it. Like other Thousand trails parks, all sites are first-come-first-served. Extremely annoying, but the sites here are relatively flat and large. We had plenty of space for our RV, a tent , and 2 cars. ALL sites have electric and water (their website says otherwise), so it is not as hard to find a site as it is at other locations. None of the sites have sewer. We knew this going in, but it did limit how long we could stay . This is the first Thousand trails we have been to that had phone service and wifi available throughout the park. The Little Deschutes River goes right through the park , and this is a great spot for swimming and floating. It is small, but very fun. The park map shows two bridges that are good float start and end points, but we could never find them. During non-COVID times , they have a shuttle for a longer float, but it was not available. I definitely recommend having a car available. We rented one from Hertz for $20/day and it made our trip . Bend is nearby with lots to do . There is no Uber or Lyft in the immediate area. My complaint about this park is that they do not allow charcoal BBQ. We understand the fire ban , but not being able to use our BBQ was a pain. We had to run to Bimart and grab an $80 BBQ that we will probably never use again. read more

Expensive and pooly maintained. We have never stayed at a Thousand Trails site before and most likely will pass in the future. What was once a lovely well appointed camping area is now sadly run down and badly maintained. Pros: Large sites. Small Store Cons; Expensive, Empty Pools, Broken Laundry Room, Washers outside and closed. Recreation room, poor condition, bathrooms old and dirty. Some bathrooms and showeres closed. No sewer dumps at each camp site for RV's. The advertising does not mention any of the broken items. Surprise when you get there!! read more

Stayed four days and when asked to stay one more night and was told that there were no retail spots available,BUT, if I signed up for a membership they could accommodate another night and in the same " retail" spot that I was already in! Only one pool was in use, and all other amenities were poorly maintained. Showers were ok, but only a curtain was your privacy cover. Overall grounds were not kept up and no sewer available in any sites. Has not been improved in the 30+ years that I have seen in all my time traveling to that area. read more

Don't be fooled by what you see online. This place clearly fell into disrepair many, many years ago and retains almost no resort-like qualities. The campsites are spacious and beautiful. If they advertised this as a rustic RV camp I would have been better prepared. But instead I wanted to cry from disappointment at the complete lack of amenities. There is no pool, no mini golf, no store. Everything is crumbling and falling apart and clearly was not just closed for COVID which is why it all remains closed afterwards. They haven't even Tun a weed eater through the horse shoe pits to make them useable. There are a couple dirt trails to walk or mountain bike on and a grassy area along the river that was packed full of people who were tent camping there. If you need a spot for just basic camping then this has nice campsites but otherwise I highly recommend spending the extra money and just renting a room in Sunriver proper. read more

We had a fantastic experience at Thousand Trails RV resort in Sunriver, OR. My family had a wonderful time during our two-day stay here. There is quick access to the little deschutes river for causal wading or floating on the river. There are full amenities for the family, including a pool, miniature golf, and...rabbits! My kids had a blast feeding the domesticated rabbits that hang out near the camp store. Overall, it was a great experience. I will be coming back for sure! read more

Thousand Trails "Resort" was a major disappointment. The website showed a pool and multiple activities for children. We got an email before our trip saying the pool was closed but was expected to reopen in July. We arrived and were told that the pool was closed for the entire year as it had to be completely dug out and replaced. The hot water in the shower near our campsite was not working. We used the pickle ball courts but the portable nets were flimsy and the courts were in disrepair. They were only two portable nets for 8 pickle ball courts! And there are large trash cans with yellow tape blocking off the tennis courts. We tried to use the laundry machine but they required quarters which we did not bring. There were no change machines to get quarters!! Other RV Parks had laundry machines that took credit cards. There was no direct trail for hiking or bicycles to get to the Sunriver Resort area. Our entire group had the impression that Thousand Trails was investing little into this property despite record levels of full reservations. The website should be updated to accurately reflect the current status of the property. And there should be discounts offered to guests with so much missing from the advertised experience. Thousand Trails is not putting the customer first. read more

We love it here. We walk the dogs, play in the lazy river, walk the trails, watch pickleball and all the bunnies.

Nice, large campsites in the woods, all water and electric only, no sewer. A very few are pull thrus and a very few are 50AMP, but the vast majority are 30AMP back ins. Both Verizon and AT&T have good service. There are a couple food trucks by the entrance if you don't want to cook (lunch). Lots of rest room/shower buildings. Sunriver is a few miles away but the roads are under construction, better to drive further into Bend for stores, including Costco and Trader Joe's, and restaurants. Lots to see and do in the area, including Newberry Volcanic National Monument and the High Desert Museum. We had three nice meals in Bend: Cuban Kitchen (Cuban), Zydeco (Cajun) and Sargent's Cafe (reasonably priced breakfast and lunch place). read more

Our second time here. Last time was over a year ago in April. At that time it was pretty empty. Not this time. Check in took a while, as they were lined up to get in. But it went smoothly. We asked about areas to try to find a spot where our roof mounted satelitte would work. The suggested a couple of different areas. Site all have 30 amp and water, no sewer hook ups within in this park. They do have two dump stations though. We unhooked our toad and drove around looking for a spot. As mentioned the place is pretty full. Finally found a site that not only can we get satellite reception but the site is huge. The majority of the sites are quite spacious with a generous amount of space between sites. Bath and shower houses are located throughout the park. They are old and small but kept very clean. There is a laundry, pool, small store, book exchange, tennis court, mini golf, horseshoes, hot tub, free wifi is located around their Town Square. There is also access to Little Deschutes river for fishing. The park is kept up quite well. Gravel/dirt roads throughout so it does get dusty. They have also implemented quite a few speed bumps to help people keep at a slow pace. All in all, we were again very happy with our stay here. read more

This place is huge. Super great amenities. Pools and hot tubs. The store is cute and is not far from so many beautiful places. The only downsides I can say are that there are zero sites with full service electric, water, and sewer. They have electric and water. Unfortunately the shower/bathrooms are a bit far apart. We are members but no RV so we rent a cottage or trailer when we go. We enjoy having all the amenities and taking our dogs. Having a grill for cooking and full kitchen. The pool was still closed but would like to go back in the on season. The staff is very friendly and helpful and the park has had a lot of work done to make it very pleasant. Very enjoyable and relaxing. The only suggestion I have is that the sleeper couch in cottage 4 is totally shot, for sitting or sleeping on, which left only one comfotable chair for 3 folks to share. read more

I've stayed at this campground twice, but with tents and both times were enough to make me want to come back. My boyfriend and I rented a pet friendly cabin and there are some updates that are desperately needed. The thing that bothered me the most was the sheets as they were covered in hair. I'm super thankful we brought our own because I couldn't have slept in them otherwise. The mattresses could use an update and new TV as well. The DVD player didn't work and skipped the movie until we finally gave up. This campground is nice when there's amenities available, but I don't recommend the cabins. RV/tent would be a much better option. read more

This is definitely a very nice park sans sewer but with dump stations, some times problematic. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. I have been to quite a few TT parks around the country and I would say this is one of the better ones. It would be better if you could reserve a site in advance rather than first come first served. If you have a 50amp rig it becomes necessary to scope out a site first especially during the busy season. They have very few 50amp sites and it seems more and more of them are long termed leased and chained off when vacant. I can't see why these cannot be made available when vacant. The other problem is, witch is annoying, is that you will often find tent trailers and smaller 30 amp trailers occupying the 50 amp sites. I don't think it would be too much ask the 30amp folks to avoid the 50 amp sites. read more

While the place is beautiful, the pool is closed, I was told washing room (laundry) was closed to support the ideology around sustainability, the TV's do not work (no wifi), the bathrooms are not stocked well, and, again, no showers probably because sustainability again! The sites are large and surrounded by trees so that's very attractive. However, the pool has been closed two years in a row. We got here Friday June 24, 2022, and the dumpsters were full then and haven't been emptied yet and it's Monday. The bathrooms are not very nice, and the fixtures don't always work. I am not impressed with the Management of this campground at all. It's the closest one to Sunriver where my family stays, so it's convenient, so I will continue to come here. Location is decent. Sites have tables and fire pits. We arrived and were told that all the online preregistration we were asked to do was a waste of time - He blamed it on the corporate office. Gave us a stack of papers but failed to mention that one of them was informing us about bacteria in the water system and that we needed to boil all water before using it. This warrants an email to all customers prior to arriving. Kind of a big deal! Also, out of three bathrooms only 1 woman's shower was operable. The rest were closed. Nobody mentioned this either. Finally, our campsite was littered with 50 - 100 pieces of trash and cigarette butts. I didn't count but stuff was everywhere! Gross. read more

The pictures of of the cabin we rented was not the one given to us to stay. Pictures were deceiving with size and actual property. The listing said it was a two bedroom. Well, it was but the second bedroom was a medium walk in closet with bunks. Couch was so uncomfortable to sit on we kept it unfolded as a bed. Only good thing was the laugh we got out of the size, the location and the hot tub. Although the listing said "cabin one comes with a hot tub" and it was actually a community one you had to drive to. read more

With slim pickins left for tent camping options in the Bend area during Memorial Day weekend, I decided to make a reservation here. It seemed to have decent reviews and when I called, they said that they had a lot of tent spots still available. Being that it was Memorial Day weekend, I was required to make a 3 night reservation, which basically boiled down to $30 a night. On the day of my arrival, the men who checked me in were friendly and helpful. I was directed to the tenting areas, but arrived to find them to be two large grassy areas with no separation from your tent camping neighbors. You have no privacy. In addition, there were only a couple of fire pits (which were just a circle of rocks) and a couple of picnic tables for all of the ~20 tent sites there. There is a bathroom/shower bldg at each of the two tent camping areas. It seemed relatively clean, but not really the best lighting and very outdated. I had spoken to 3 other tent campers who were just as frustrated with the quality of the tent camping at this location as I was. For $30 a night for tent camping, this place should at least have a fire pit and picnic table at each site, offer more than a big grassy patch for tenting, and have decent bathrooms. I've never paid this much for tent camping anywhere with such horrible quality. I got tired of sharing my tent site with the loud young kids camping next to me and didn't even stay for the three nights that I paid for. There was no description about the tent camping sites anywhere on the website when making the reservation. No information about the lack of amenities for tent campers. I'm sure that if you have an RV, this place is probably decent enough, but if you're tent camping, I'd recommend going elsewhere. Even dispersed camping for free in the national forest would be better than this place. read more

Quick heads up!! If you are not a "member" you will arrive to find out that it's first come first serve...even if you reserve months in advance. We were told "good luck finding a spot-it's pretty full." We had one loop to choose from and luckily we grabbed the last spot. Apparently if all sites were full they would have parked us in an overflow lot...not our idea of a good time! Luckily that wasn't the case for us but we did see some people that got the short end of the stick :(. I added the second star for the bathrooms-pretty clean and maintained well. Side note: they aren't kidding when they say "speed limit 5mph". We were chased down by the ranger in a golf cart and scolded...if you are retired this may be a great place for you to visit but we won't be back-and we travel to Sunriver/Bend area ALOT... read more

Quite a pleasant place to spend some time. There's a nice swimming area - with cool and warm pools and a hot tub. The only bad thing about this is it's right next to the road to the camp repair shop - little buggies and old pickups with bad exhaust drive by all the time, with their fumes drifting over the pool area. There's an old-West style village with a TV room near the front gate. A large community building provides a place to hang out and for events to be held. Both places have wireless internet access. Drinking water is metallic here - I don't think that's how it comes from the source - this is Central Oregon after all - but in going thru the system it picks up an iron taste. TT has a Bend address but is actually south of Sunriver and near to Lapine. Summer weather is usually good here - sunny and not too hot. There's a few mosquitos, especially next to the marshes, but a breeze will often keep them down. I've enjoyed being here. read more

This is a review of the tent camping sites. Tent camping here is horrible for the following reasons: 1. There is no privacy in the tent camping areas, which are just large open fields (leach fields for the restrooms?). There are no assigned spots, and I have no idea how many tents they allow before they consider the tent fields to be "full." 2. There are only a handful of tables and fire pits, and no guarantee you'll get one. 3. You have to walk your gear into the field. You cannot drive onto the field; you cannot park near your campsite. It's not a long walk, but could be a problem if you need to be near your vehicle for whatever reason. 4. You are not allowed to tie anything to the trees. No hammocks, no dog runs. 5. Trees are only on the perimeter of the field, so there is very little shade in the tent areas. Other gripes: 6. We couldn't figure out where to get water. There were some spigots visible in the RV sites, but it wasn't clear if those were communal or for the occupants of that site only. Are we supposed to go into the bathroom for water? We were only there for one night, so we didn't bother asking. 7. The website lists nature/hiking trails as an amenity, but when we asked about it we were directed to a regular boring fire road. This is misleading. Overall, this place is waaay overpriced for tent camping. I'd rather overnight in a rest stop and save my money. read more

Thousand Trails Sunriver Bend was a great place to stay. Many amenities , close to the river. You can't beat Bend OR in the summertime. Here's the break down: PROS: 1. Great clubhouse. 2. Swell pools, one for kids and one for older folks. 3. Plenty of restrooms/showers everywhere. 4. Beautiful pine forest/ river / star gazing location 5. nearby Sunriver (shopping) and Bend OR 6. Laundry room convenient. 7. Nifty camp store and on-site propane CONS: 1. Plenty of mosquitoes! Take the citronella for sure. 2. A very large campground, so some amenities may get crowded (ie pool, club house, restrooms). 3. Since it's a large place, the chance for jerk-ass A-hole neighbors is somewhat higher than smaller places. But, we had many cool and friendly folks in our area during our stay. 4. Wi-fi at clubhouse or camp store rec-room only. Our family had a good time, and we will likely return when camping in the Bend OR area. read more

50 amp service, large sites to fit a 40ft Diesel Pusher, plenty of room to park the towed car. Easy to get into, and pull out of. No dumps in the sites, but its an easy stop along the way out to get empty, or you can have the pump truck come by your site while you are there (I think they come around once a week). TONS, and I really mean TONS, of things for the kids to do. This location is very kid friendly, and family oriented. Starts right at check-in where the kids are told to "Find The Wolf" and they come back and get a treat when they do (Like Wheres Waldo, only with a photo of a cartoon wolf character hidden somewhere in the "Town Square"). The Town Square is at the front of the property and has a reading/board game room, a small store with lots of necessities and goodies to choose from, and is made up like an old Wild West Town with stories about the townsfolk, and plenty of bunnies running around. You can even buy a little carrot shaped sack of bunny food to feed them, if you wish. There are two pools... one for families and one for adults. The hot tub is adults only, and on Sunbdays they have "Hot Tub Happy Hour" at 3pm. FUN! Near the pools is the mini golf course, the basketball courts, and the tennis and pickleball areas. The kids can rent a tube and float the Little Deschutes right from the campground... and for a $1 the van from TT comes to get them at an appointed time and place. On the weekends they do a big hot breakfast in the Family Hall (Also where church, and other events take place). It was cheap, and hot... and I didnt have to cook! On Wednesdays they have $3 Cinnamon Rolls, with a hot beverage (coffee, coco, or tea), and the cinnamon rolls are as large as a standard sized paper plate (HUGE!!). Well worth the $3 to get down there and get your families name on the list... they do run out if you are late to the party. All the staff was friendly, and helpful. Every bathroom, and facility on the property that we went to was clean and well stocked for whatever it was meant for. Theres also an undercover horseshoes area that they have competitions at sometimes. We were here for a week, and had a great time with not a single complaint from the kid other than when it was time to go... because they wanted to stay a little longer. read more

EXPENSIVE! We paid $60+/night without the membership..... Find your own site took a while from the short time we spent here. For the high price there's no tv cable and no sewer at site. No wifi most of the sites and far to walk the park to the pool and store. On the bright site, the heated pool, hot tub, nice size sites, fire pits and nightly movie night are nice! All this compared to the State Parks..... well I can't! read more

I've been coming to TT for over 40 years. Haven't been to Bend TT in probably 15 years. I cried when we got here. Walked around only to see that all my memories with my parents when I was a teenager, and then with my own children when I was an adult, are just that. Distant memories. The pools are toast. The cute little bridge that crossed over to the little island in the lagoon where we paddled our kayaks is rotted and gone. The bathrooms are stained with hard water deposits. It is NOTHING like what I remember. I sent my girls pictures of the pool area and lagoon bridge that is gone. They couldn't believe it. Our summers were spent down here every single year when my parents were younger, and my dad was still alive. SO MANY GREAT MEMORIES!!!! Now...I'm just sad. Makes me cry. I've been so emotional over this whole trip. I hope it comes back but idk. In my head when I booked this trip I envisioned everything it always was. Ice cream socials at the gazebo, breakfasts on Sundays in the lodge, kids and bikes and pools and tennis/basketball courts. Life just popping and bouncing all around. So glad we didn't bring our 13 yr old granddaughter. She would be bored out of her mind. So sad!!! read more
