I felt bad for the front desk staff trying to check in a long line of guests because the computer system was very slow and we all waited a long time. I am writing this review on my phone while waiting for my computer to load because the internet keeps going in and out, and when it is working, it is VERY slow. Also, the bathroom area is outdated. My sink is cracked, the toilet seat is peeling, and the shower is dripping all night. The cleaning is suspect, as I found old contacts on the bedside lamp. The furniture choices are uncomfortable: a fuzzy stool for the desk and metal chairs for the table. The desk and fridge are full of snacks and beer for purchase (not my thing but maybe others appreciate?). The outlets by the bed and desk are used up by the lamps. No extra towels in room. Enjoyed this one nighter here and wish I would have stayed another night to soak it all in. It was rather chill on a Saturday night Aug 1st maybe because there was smoke last week I'm not sure. I booked last minute and room 251 was up stairs away from the main unit and pool. I did go to my car and there were 4 younger guys still hanging outside drinking and smoking at 11:30pm at night but my unit has a great fan and I didn't hear them. Another con which sucked was their shades aren't black out curtains. They need to upgrade those. I couldn't even bring them to fully cover my window. This place was recommended to us. We were able to check in early and the lady employee at the counter was Awesome. Was like walking into a friend's home. The room was clean and adorable. It's a really neat little hotel. Lots of cool decor and the pool and hot tub are awesome. I got to say though, I have yet to have a good interaction with the front desk staff. They're always just a little condescending and rude. They act like your existence is an annoyance for them and they talk down to customers. LOVED this little hotel! Great service. We arrived super early...as we weren't anticipating the need for a hotel. They kept our name and called us when we could check in (prior to usual time). Sat by the pool in the sun, reading books while waiting (even nice in October). Quaint environment around the pool (lounge chairs, bean bags, etc.). Received a nice lunch recommendation from the front desk team and Oregon High Desert Museum passes! Yay! The room had darling amenities and stylish/old school touches (fake dial phone, orange camp chairs, wooden pens, pour over coffee!). There was a cute little Victrola Bluetooth speaker. Make-up towel. Fun! The fire pit looked amazing! But, we were busy watching Toronto beat Seattle to go to the World Series!! The only downside...are the walls are a bit thin. Whichever company purchased this little motel and rebranded it did a great job. We loved our stay here. It's just a little bit away from the downtown scene in Bend in an area that is being revitalized. I love the branding all over the hotel. They warm, brown and orange colors and all of the thoughtful touches and decor really made it stand out and feel super inviting. We enjoyed our five nights stay there very much. When we first checked in, I was a little disappointed that we were not in the main building. We were in a second building that was kind of across the street and the common area around it isn't quite as cute. It ended up being a good thing because the hotel pool and the Fire Pit area are super popular and it gets quite lively out there in the evenings. I appreciated being a little bit away from that because our room was so quiet. The people that work at the hotel are great, really friendly and helpful. We had a great time at the pool, I went every day! On Sunday, they have a big pool party and it seems like there are people from town that come because most of the people were checking out of the hotel that morning. They had a couple DJs, we went and enjoyed the music and the scene and had a blast. They have a bar area that opens in the afternoon that serves all sorts of cocktails but also they have nonalcoholic and CBD drinks available. They have a burrito, food truck and a coffee food truck in the parking lot Tuesdays through Saturdays and both of them were awesome. I wanted to give the hotel five stars but there are a couple things they could work on. First of all, the shower pressure was excellent and I liked how high the showerhead was, but the showerhead was in a fixed position. Every single time I showered there I would get blasted with cold water intermittently during the shower. With the showerhead, not being movable, there was no way for me to get out of the cold water stream. I just had to handle it until it got warm again or get out of the shower. I have a ton of hair so I can't just get out of the shower in the middle of washing my hair, that stuff has got to get rinsed out. Secondly, I appreciate that they don't clean the room every day. That seems like a waste to me. They told me at the front desk to let them know if there was a day I'd like to get my room cleaned before 11 AM that morning. So on Sunday morning at 8:15 AM I walked over to the front desk to ask to have our room cleaned that day and was told that because there were so many checkouts that they can't clean my room that day but would clean it the next day instead. Well, the next day was one day before we were leaving so it didn't really make sense. Also, our trash cans were running over, we were out of toilet paper and we needed new towels. So I ended up getting trash bags, towels, and toilet paper from reception and bringing them back to the room and then bagging up all of our trash and putting it outside the room. It wasn't the end of the world, but if they weren't available to do the room on a specific day, it would've been nice to get a heads up. We could've gotten it done the day before. Lastly, as much as I liked the aesthetic of the room, the bedframe is oversized and juts out just a little bit. It's dark brown, and the room is kind of dimly lit (nice aesthetic). I smacked both of my knees on that bedframe on different days and my man also smacked his knees on it. I took a photo of my knee next to the bedframe and you can see that the material of the frame is worn in that spot, it looks like a lot of people smack items or their body parts on it. They need to put a little cushion protection on that thing! read more

I learn something new every day. One thing I learned when booking a room, you probably should consider whether you might need accommodations. I normally travel alone or with a boyfriend, so I really didn't know that I need something a little closer to us. I was traveling with my mom. The major issue that I had was their location. Their hotel is in a spot that is really busy. So, it's a little hard to navigate. The staff is really great. When I asked to change rooms. I was expecting this to be hard, but she changed our room to the first floor. This place is really neat and clean. The room was nice and spacious. They had a good variety of goodies to purchase from the room. Wyld edibles are my favorite so I picked that up with a cbd muscle rub. There is a fire pit that everyone hung out at. It was a very nice environment that felt just like camping. There is a cantina. I didn't really check that out because I couldn't see food on the menu. There is a pool and a breakfast burritos truck. They have really good burritos by the way. A coffee food truck arrived in the morning. This place feels like when I went camping with the girls from church a long time ago. When I checked out, I learned that I can use my deposit to pay for the products that I took from the room and other goodies in the lobby. I got some of their stickers, tank top, and we picked up some free post cards and pens. I really liked it here even though there is a slightly inconvenient obstacle to get to the room. read more

The pros: -Gigantic fire pit outside to get a camping-like feel -Outdoor hot tub and swimming pool -Social opportunities (there was a karaoke night) The cons: -Parking could be hard to find, so you might need to park on the street -Located near a homeless area with a lot of drug users. Just so you know, if you book during fire season and there's a local fire, they will not refund you if you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, even if they book the room afterwards. (They are mostly booked, and could get more bookings from the local evacuation order.) I was unaware that there were local fires and did not cancel, within the 24 hour window. Even if I had checked 24 hours ahead of time, the fire doubled in size and became incredibly dangerous AFTER the 24 hour window expired. Due to the evacuation orders for their county, the proximity to the fires, and the air quality, I was unable to keep the reservation (family with respiratory issues making it impossible to drive into the middle of the smoke and fires). They charged me the full rate, no amount of discussing it changed their steadfastness on this policy. I should have booked at the Hilton, and will do that next time. I was hoping to patronize a local hotel, but this is a horrible way to treat people. read more

The check in process was easy. I was disappointed in the hotel site overall when driving up. An older hotel. It has some cool things like the campfires and pool area but the rooms are extremely old. The pictures and reviews I looked at when booking was much different than my experience. Our air conditioner made a very loud noise. Let me know right way. They were going to look at it and let us know. They did respond right away and said they made it less noisy or we could change rooms. They mentioned it was an old unit. We chose the room next to it - it was much newer ac an quieter. I think the hotel was very overpriced for what you get. We were there on a Tuesday in July. The bar area was not open that day. The campfires were not turned on later that night. They have a burrito food truck in the morning that you can purchase breakfast burritos and that was very good. It is within walking distance to town if you don't walking a distance through the older parts of town. Not sure I would want to walk back later at night. Bend downtown was amazing. read more

The ADA room was roomy. It has a tub/shower with a bench to slide in. Lots a grab rails. Super cute. Clean. I slept great and I never sleep well at hotels. Pool. Look, I don't give hotels five stars, ever, but the campfire was a really nice spot. No, like really awesome. Very welcoming, great staff, clean and bright rooms, a really cool atmosphere that has "the Bend vibe" written all over it. There were single speed loaner bikes, the pool and hot tub were in great shape, the fire pit area was really nice, full-service bar with a second smaller fire pit overlooking the pool, so that adults can enjoy adult beverages, while watching the children lose their minds splashing and having a blast. I had a conversation with the grounds staff while walking the dog and they really seem to care both about the upkeep and maintenance of the place and that people were having a good time. Was there over a holiday weekend and even during a slammed holiday weekend the staff was still super concerned about everyone that was staying there and having the best time. That says a lot. The bed was comfortable, sheets were crisp, yet soft, the decor in the rooms is what I would describe as modern mixed with classical Mountaineer/chalet vibe. The color schemes were great. They had snacks and drinks in the room that didn't have the cheesy Vegas mini bar thing going on. The hotel is dog friendly!! How many hotels are dog friendly?! This place was a nice little urban oasis for us while spending just a little bit of time in Bend. I would recommend to anybody going and staying in the city. read more

Hampton Inn is clean and you know what you're getting into, but the campfire is not living up to the concept. Website doesn't accurately represent the reality. No parking. Well, there is parking but you may not be able to get out, if you can get in. The room is a very cosmetic band aid on a very old infrastructure. Lobby is cute. The cantina is great! They also had a bar if you want to grab a drink along with snacks in lobby like trail mix and apples. If you're going for a themed experience as a hotel, fully commit the way Campfire Hotel does. I arrived late one night after working an event. The parking lot is difficult to navigate, especially on dark rainy nights, but once I found a spot, the lobby was easy to locate for check-in. That process was quick and smooth, and I love the cute lobby area overall. Very inviting. My room was cozy and spacious. Everything from the bed to the counter of snacks and the rotary phone was Instagrammable. I wish I could have spent more time chilling and watching Netflix or Hulu for free, but I had an early scheduled departure from the airport. Didn't get to experience breakfast (front desk staff told me the burritos are great) or the pool. Bend isn't a city I'm dying to come back to, but this has certainly become one of my favorite hotel experiences. I don't really camp, nor have I been through many camp programs. Nevertheless, the low key hospitality and hipster amenities inspire me to explore more of the outdoors and maybe even hang out with new friends around the bonfire. read more

Hello, Travellers and local Bend friends, my suggestion to you is AVOID this place. I stayed there for years, travelling for work and exploring the outdoor wonders of the PNW. Often, it was upsetting that my sleep was disturbed, even through earplugs, by loud partiers late into the weeknights, then by people clamoring up and down the stairs. As a travelling nurse who works all hours, this was such a disappointment. My last work travel was there for a week to care for patients in an acute psychiatric lockdown unit. I had a serious issue, more than the stoners who can't even see their kids are at risk in the pool. I was trying to rest and meditate over the Solstice and partiers outside my door until 1 am, when work got so very belligerent. I called the front desk twice. After they laughed about drugging and sexually exploiting women, I opened the door and asked them to go find a bar to party in. After moving to Bend, I would go in every now and again when one of my friends was working to swim. They told me that they were trying to clean the place up. Honestly, their BOSS is not a decent man, and his turnover is crazy high as he doesn't take care of his staff or patrons. After I made a formal complaint about the excessive party outside my door, he put me on a list to not swim or rent at the hotel, which is hilarious!!! You want a safe place to swim and SOAK in Bend, go to Juniper Community Center for 9 bucks and stay at the Hilton by Old Mill. If you are a member, it's free, and it's cheaper than this trashy hotel. Also, you can sit around a fire without people blowing pot and cigarettes into your face. read more

This place is kitschy, but overall a fun and affordable stay. If you're looking for quiet before 10pm, this is not the place for you. They have music playing outdoors and there's lots of people out in the common areas in the evening. There's a huge fire to sit around and plenty of chairs outdoors. We also checked out the pool area - lots more people chilling and hanging out. They do have additional property across the street from the main lobby/pool/campfire side so if you're looking for more quiet, maybe request a room over there. We weren't expecting anything fancy, but it's definitely a motel contrary to the name. The room smelled damp and of chlorine when we checked in. I really enjoyed how the room was decorated and the lights around the property. AM Coffee in the lobby was great - they also supplied to go cups. We only stayed for a night, but took advantage of their free bike rentals in the morning before we had to check out. We brought our bikes in the backseat of our rental and were able to bike around the Old Mill District for about an hour. Definitely a bonus of our stay! Parking lot is pretty tight and fills up quickly, but there is street parking on the street in between the two lots as well. read more

We decided to give this place a shot on our Bend Trip. Great location and easily walkable to the store and Downtown. Front desk attendants were friendly. Online check in and the mobile keys were a little challenging for me, thankful for the help and check in and normal room keys. I have a TBI so not surprised the mobile check in and room key was difficult for me. They helped me so no worries. Motel was adorable. Room was comfortable. Location for us was great and one of our favorite Mexican spots is close as well as where our dinner was at off Wall Street. We knew this was a motel and assumed the vibe and style and did not expect something fancy, we expected a cute place with adorable decorations and a good vibe kinda place. It was great and met our expectations. We will definitely stay again next time we need a Bend place to sat close to downtown. read more

This place is ADORABLE. I don't often wish I had more time to spend in a hotel, but at Campfire Hotel, I do. We booked a last minute deal online so we could have somewhere to stay before we left at the crack of dawn to head to Crater Lake National Park. I found out later that they have little packages for couples and for stargazers..kinda wish I would have seen that before I booked, but oh well! I would say the place has a vibe that I would expect to attract 20-somethings who are big on adventuring and meeting new people. The hotel has a camping theme which is incredibly evident from the moment you walk in the lobby. There is a gift shop with all sorts of things: apparel, stickers, snacks, etc. There is also a little bar area, pool, and huge fire pits that we didn't have time to check out. They also have live music and free bike rentals. The beds were comfortable and there were robes, beach towels, and chairs for lounging by the pool. Our room also had a nice little basket of treats (if you wish to buy them) and a stocked fridge. We had a quick one night stay in Bend and two people highly suggested Campfire. We were so glad we went with this place. We arrived around 5 PM and they worked with us to get two rooms for the night. The staff was friendly and extremely personable. They gave us food recommendations that were really helpful too being from out of town. Onto the rooms! Super retro with an Oregon cabin vibe. From the old school phone, alarm clock, the bison shower curtain, even lawn chairs, it had such a fun vibe. Not to mention a pour over coffee pot with coffee from a local coffee shop. Awesome! On a personal note, Hotel pillows are almost always a negative for me, but these felt great on my neck and I had a great nights sleep. Onto the pool! They call this place a hotel and 'Pool Club' and it fit the bill. The pool was 90 degrees and the hot tub was 103. The pool had a bunch of people just chillin' and hanging out which I thought was cool. There were quite a few people with some "funny smelling cigarettes" (lol) but it didn't bother us. Pretty normal these days. The pool was pretty much a giant hot tub and we had a great time just kickin' it and talking sports for an hour or so. Overall, we really enjoyed our quick but fun stay at Campfire. If you're not looking for your traditional hotel, I say go for it. read more

What a clever concept! I love how they transformed what used to be an old motel into a super cute, inviting place with a rustic kitsch feel. The actual campfire is nice to relax by in the evening. My husband enjoyed the swimming pool while I walked our dog around and enjoyed the nighttime ambience. I wish we could have been in town for one of their Thursday night campfire concerts but we had to leave a day early due to an incoming storm that we wanted to avoid. We were put in an upstairs room across the side street, which was nice because it was quiet. If you want more action, it's better to stay in the rooms close to the pool and campfire. Our room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. I loved that they are very dog-friendly and their camping decor, including that the extra "blanket" at the foot of the bed was actually sleeping bag material. The person that checked us in was very friendly and had great advice re dog-friendly activities/restaurants in town. There was also complimentary good coffee available each morning in the lobby. What wasn't so great is the somewhat seedy area we had to cross when we would walk to the downtown area. I would give this place 3.5 stars if I could, it wasn't bad, but I probably wouldn't stay there again. Pros: Everything was very clean, the staff was very friendly and helpful, the pool and hot tub were awesome, the fire pit was a nice touch; we enjoyed meeting people there each night. The decor was fun. It has a party vibe, but they enforced the quiet hours really well, which was nice. (We were also there during the week, I can imagine it gets rowdier and louder on weekends when they have a DJ at the pool.) It's a queer-owned business and they seem to do a lot to support the local queer community. Cons: It's a motel, so all the rooms have doors that face outside, which means it's louder--you hear people walking by, cars and motorcycles in the parking lot, and the din of traffic. The conversion they did of this old, formerly run-down motel was good, but the walls are thin, and I was kept awake one night by the people in the room above us, not because they were partying, but just because they were awake until 2am and moving around and every footstep sounded like a bowling alley. The rooms are also really small--no closet or dresser, just some hooks an a few hangers. I also didn't find the bed to be very comfortable. The Canteen Bar is fun, but everything is overpriced ($13 for a small, pre-made frozen cocktail.) There were some good parts, but we didn't sleep super well, and it didn't feel worth if for the price, unfortunately. read more

I really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms are incredibly spacious and decorated in a modern rustic aesthetic. My room was clean, with the exception that the comforter was a little dirty (see picture). I think this is a renovated motel, so it still has thin walls and noise from the people above, but they supply earplugs (which I didn't need), and it was very quiet during quiet hours after 10. They seem to be good about enforcing this. Other reviews say this is a loud party hotel, but I did not find this to be the case. I went in April, so maybe not the high season, but the pool/hot tub was busy, and people were drinking, but everyone was friendly and respectful. The best amenity is the hot tub and the hot pool! The huge fire pit is also a great place to relax. They all get shut down at 10. I personally would like it if they were open until 11. They have good coffee in the lobby. My biggest complaint is that there is not much parking, it really fills up at night. read more

This is all well and good if you go in with those expectations. Enjoy the heated pool, hot tub, bar, and fire pits and loud night life. It's perfect for that if that's what you are going for. This place was exactly what we were looking for. Just trying to get away from the big city for a couple days we booked a room here for a few days during the week. The room itself was nice and clean and full of local treats. It did have some snacks and beverages that you had to pay for but were very fairly priced compared to most hotels I've been in. We were here on week days so the pool was never too crowded and always hot. Seems like a great comfortable spot for the community as you can pay a fee to come to the pool if you're not a guest at the hotel. The bar area was a bit small, but the cocktails were great, beer selection was solid and the food items we tried were good. Cute and campy. And I mean that literally and endearingly! We made a last minute stop through Bend on our way from Portland back home. Booked a last minute deal online. I wanted something fun and local-feeling but value priced. Campfire wasn't the cheapest but looked interesting for the money. Their website made it easy to book, too. Arrived late for check in, but staff helped us get situated despite the hour. The parking lot and pool area were adorned with adorable orange string lights giving the place a warm and welcoming vibe. This place is a thoughtfully renovated older motel, with many super cute touches of astroturf, faux logs, and park-like hangout spaces. Campfire carries its theme in every piece of decor and merch in the office and throughout its rooms. Excellent snacks and merch to purchase if you're feeling inclined. We loved the theme and bought a mug. Downsides would be the unpredictable temperature adjustment / not maintaining a constant temp in room 248, and maybe the window ac unit being a little slow, but that was all forgivable. I recommended it to another friend who is coming through Bend in a few weeks. We will probably be back! read more

Awesome staff and a great location! The 100° pool was so comfortable that we didn't even need a Jacuzzi. Short drive to Mount Bachelor and lots of restaurants including their own in the area. I love this hotel, I will definitely return read more

My wife Lillian and made last minute reservations at Campfire and absolutely love this place , the minute you walk into the front office you are greeted by the nicest people with big smiles , the entire property was renovated in 2020 in a camping theme and the did not miss any details from the black and white pictured wallpaper to the musical instruments hanging in each room to the nightly campfire for all the guests to gather around . The staff is amazing and super accommodating I would give it all the stars in the sky ! read more
