Surprise refundable fee for dogs. Oh, free coffee. For two nights, I payed nearly $900. And I had to get angry about refreshing my room. The "nerve" of me. No. No, I will not go back. The hotel is split in two - the main lobby is near the pool and a great little pub. Lots of beer and ciders on hand near check in and in your room! We were on the opposite of the street where it was quiet and had a tiny version of the fire pit with comfy chairs and tables. We could see the main fire pit across the street with an epic fire. Let me say from the start I was uncomfortable. I'm a 67 yr old grandma traveling with my 9lb dog. The girl at the check in desk grilled me about 'quiet hour', when I interrupted her she started all over. All the while keeping eye contact as if she was trying to read me ?! Then I go into the bar area to order food. The guy explains to me I can order it yes, but when it's ready I'll need to go across the street to pick it up. so why have a sign you can get food there?! So I just go across the street to order it. Then little Emily and I go to our room. I spilled her water bowl on the carpet and went to soak it up, the towel immediate turned black!! I'm not kidding, it was worse than the ground outside. At least out there you can the dirt. I had to lay a towel on the floor so my feet didn't touch the ground when I was going to bed. And had to put my shoes on when I woke up to go to the bathroom. What's the pet fee for if they aren't going to use it to clean the carpets?! The hotel 6 couldn't have been any worse, and was cheaper. so disappointed. read more

We stayed here for 4 days and our room was lackluster, like a motel 6 or travel lodge with hipster wallpaper and old fashioned light bulbs. 80s style ac, 80s style mini-fridge and the microwave had a timer dial you turn, and the carpet was gross. The bathroom was tiny, sad, and musty; no fan/vent for the shower. The door needs to shoved open and it doesn't lock. They don't do maid service so we had to ask when our room didn't have soap or tp. Also make sure to call them at 7am if you want late checkout. The pool was good. read more

DOG FRIENDLY. Like spending the night in an Rei . Relatively SAFE AREA. CONVENIENT (near gas station, grocery store, downtown bend) My rating is based on hotels in this category. Boutique. This isn't the ritz Carleton, nor is it a Sheraton. I'd say it's like holiday inn or best western and close to being like the kimpton hotel but with a camp style theme. (Definitely far from being a red inn or motel 6. Guests here are travelers mostly young crowd but did see some older, and not local junkies ) The decor is really cool. The vibes are very nice. There is a pool. There are cocktails. There are young people. It feels very social. There are good photo opportunities. If you need a quiet place to stay this is NOT the place. Guests are socializing at the pool and at the fire pit. It is noisy at 10pm. If you are a light sleeper please skip this place. Or use earbuds. Parking was not bad during the weekday. FYI mon and Tuesday's the canteen is closed but looking forward to trying it. If you are high maintenance just leave this place alone. You're not going to get top notch room service. And you will be unhappy. If you're a cheap person who likes to get a good deal and then expect the Ritz and is surprised when it's not, drive away. Now if you want a bend experience this place is awesome! This is a unique gem. It is close to many of the hiking trails. Less than half a mile from Crux fermentation project. There is a Safeway across the street to get snacks. Room is standard has big king size bed, pretty clean, microwave, fridge that's is stocked with beer, small table with chairs, wifi. Bed mattress was not very comfortable for me, it was very firm. Like 7/10 firm. But if you like firm mattresses then you'll be fine. Pillows were very soft, 1/10 in firmness. so if you like firm pillow bring your own. Shower pressure was excellent. My concern before staying here was that I saw a review about homeless around the area. I did not see any, nor did I feel unsafe. This area is very safe. I would stay here as a woman alone, parking lot also feels very safe. 10/10 would stay again and again. Especially since price point is a good deal. I never do hotel reviews and here I am hoping to give some insight. Being a dog owner it's difficult to find a hotel at this caliper in terms of niceness. If you are willing to step into a kitschy room with 70s vibes and fixtures, then this might be the spot for you.My young son and I stopped in for one night on our way through town, and for one night on the way back through town. The first night was good! Our room was by the giant "fire pit" lit with twinkle lights, and everything was nice! The second time around, we were in the property across the street, and even though the rooms were similar, the placement felt weird and disconnected. The reason I am taking time to write a review is because I was bugged with the additional $100 amenities fee tacked onto an already significant daily rental, and the non-refundable sum within that $100. When I paid through Expedia, my understanding was that I had paid for the final cost. When we checked in, they charge a $100 hold and patrons are told it will be refunded if everything is left. This is because the room is stocked with goodies and the fee is to protect their output should a stayer consume any of what they had to offer (candy, edibles, a candle, cup-o-noodles, alcohol). In reality, the full $100 would *not* be refunded, because there is a $16 (or so) facilities fee. Excuse me, what?! The hot tub was actually taped off and swampy looking, so no one could use it. The restaurant was closed on the first night. After 10 days had passed from our first stay, I was not refunded, so I called the front desk to investigate. That is how I found out about the small "facilities" fee in addition to the "final" Expedia cost, and it was reversed when I shared that not all of the facilities were available because they were out of order. All in all, the front desk was receptive to my questions and refunded the small no-see-um fee at the very end. Still, this new-school hidden fee BS feels janky. The big feelings (and desire to return or not) about a place are hinged on the small details. I laid out too much money ($600 for 2 nights) to feel nickle and dimed at every turn. I'll choose another spot next time through. read more

This was an OK hotel, nice staff, clean rooms. But, the lighting in the room was terrible. All the lightbulbs bulbs were amber colored, low wattage, and dim. Reading a book required me to sit in a lawn chair by the bathroom. The mini fridge was 1/3 full of their version of a mini bar. Even though they claim to be dog friendly the dedicated spot for dogs was about 18" wide and 10 feet long requiring me to walk the dog along a very busy street or a construction zone. And the parking SUCKED. It appeared as if they valued the burrito truck and coffee truck far more than the convenience of their clients. I estimated that the food trucks took up 8 badly needed parking spots. Forcing clients to park along the street. (In two days, I only saw one person take advantage of the food trucks.) The huge fire pit was nice and had plenty of setting. Our dog loved her dog treats that came in the doggie bag at registration. read more

Stayed for one night and really enjoyed my time here. The overall vibe of the place is boutique motel. The remodel is pretty cool furniture and visually pleasing. Super clean which was awesome after a horrible stay in Redding the night before. The draw is the pool area and firepit. Which I'll admit was really nice to sit and chat with people after the isolating feeling of covid quarantine. The firepit only runs until 10pm, which I get because of noise complaints but is sad when in the summer sun sets around 830pm. During covid you have to sign up to use the pool and spa which is kinda awesome because you have it to yourself. But you have to sign up early if you want night spa time. Free coffee in the lobby from a local roaster tasted great. And they have a small gift shop and cantina for drinks. Definitely would reccomend this place if you have a dog as its doggy friendly. Only downside I feel is that the walls are thin and you can hear a lot of the pipes when people use the shower or restroom. Also the location is not the greatest but not terrible. My family and I recently stayed here and it was an overall enjoyable experience. This hotel seems geared toward young adults aged 21-35, which is totally fine. The pool is small and was SUPER packed. So packed that I elected to just sit near the pool while my family swam. The place has a nice young adult vibe, but I wouldn't recommend this hotel to those with familes with small children. It was quite loud until 10pm and even after, there was a higher than normal amount of hotel noise late into the night hours. They provided ear plugs, which was a nice touch, but inadequate. I had a hard time deciding on 3 or 4 stars...and I think it's closer to 3 stars but for a hotel room that we paid $110 a night for...can I really complain THAT much? At the price point, it served as intended. The overall concept is cool. Location is fine - we knew it wasn't terribly close to the cool parts of town when we booked it. But, we still were able to walk into downtown Bend without issue. Brisk, but doable. Parking lot is a cluster, and there aren't really that much spots but it's permit parking only. We got there relatively early so we were lucky enough to find a spot by our unit. Canteen bar is great, the bartender who worked there was hilarious and friendly. It was so cozy everywhere. We didn't get a chance to go in the pool or hot tub and we were bummed, but I think it's awesome it's actually open in the winter. The community areas are cool because they light up the gas fireplaces each night so we were able to sit around that and meet some new people. The room though...left something to be desired. It's clear it used to be a Best Western. I don't even know for sure that they took the wallpaper off from the last hotel that was there. We were in a dark, dingy corner. The room was appointed just fine with a bed, TV, toiletries etc. The walls though...ohhh the walls. Paper thin. We didn't hear a peep from the people behind us...but this couple was screaming at each other all night...at one point he even woke her up after going through her phone and asking her why she lied, etc. Yes, we heard it all. It was like a Jerry Springer episode. I would tell you about the bed if it weren't for the fact that I laid awake all night wishing the people would stop. BUT....they provide you with earplugs because they're not even shy about the fact that it's loud lol! Honestly this place would've been cooler I think if it were in my 20's, but I'm too old for this crap. read more

The Campfire Hotel, while nicely updated in the common areas, fell below my (already not very high) expectations. Pros: - Updated features - Convenience of being downtown Cons: - Thin walls - No parking for guests - No monitoring by staff and no response to complaints (meaning parking lot was constantly filled with non-guests so multiple guests were forced to search for parking on the street and there were children screaming/running across the upper level for several hours beyond the quiet hours, every night) The building seems to be an updated motel, which is fairly obvious from the photos. I don't mind that at all, but they did have some features in the rooms that were not updated. Our room smelled rather musty, which I never really got used to. The walls are incredibly thin, but they had complimentary ear plugs on the side table for us. Between the rumbling bass of a neighbors party, completely separate pool party music, kids screaming at all hours and the cars constantly wizzing by on the main road, neither of us slept more than an hour at a time. There were multiple kids racing each other up and down the upper walkway while screaming, starting at 9:30pm and lasting throughout the night until the early hours. It was an absolute nightmare for us, as we were in Bend to attend a sunrise wedding. As well, there was absolutely nobody monitoring anything here. There were two people sitting on lawn chairs, smoking weed directly across the front desk (I have no problem with weed- the point being that nothing was being monitored) and the parking lot was so full from other guest's friends that us and several others staying there had to park down the street both nights we were there. We also couldn't use the pool or sit at the fire either night, because they were fully packed with non-guests. In fact, beyond check-in, we weren't able to get in contact with or directly speak to any staff members during our stay. Lastly, they have an envelope in the room, encouraging you to leave tips, which I thought wasn't really necessary, considering this place was just under $700 for two nights of bare-minimum service. The convenience of this place wasn't worth it for us, since the air quality ended up being hazardous and we couldn't walk to the places we wanted to walk to. In the end, we attended the event we needed to attend and that's all that really matters, however, as somebody who works really hard for the money they've earned and has worked in customer service positions for many years, I can't begin to express the frustration of spending hard-earned money on trash service. We won't ever stay here again, but if you're a non-guest trying to hang out at the fire and pool, I'm sure you'll have a great time. read more

Cool hotel, pool and decor are nice. most of the staff is really friendly, one was a little crotchety. The walls are extremely thin, so keep that in mind if you want quiet. Front desk swapped rooms for me when mine was loud (Thank You!!!). Watch out for all the erroneous snack charges. I was charged for 8 items, however, I didn't use a single one. I received serious resistance when trying to dispute the charges. Have them do a walk through before you leave. read more

So, overall it was a fair stay. The rooms were quiet and the room was clean. However, the air conditioner would not turn off for some reason. there is also a light (for whatever reason) at the bottom of the TV which is annoying and disrupts the complete dark that is best for restful sleep. The theme of the hotel is fun, but the large picture of an old vintage photo of a man at a campfire is a little weird. There are guitars in the rooms which is a cool idea, unless you don't play guitar... The staff were friendly and no issues there. There was a homeless camp and some vagrants hanging out just behind the hotel. I went to walk my dog around the hotel area which did not feel safe as a couple of the people were talking shit to me. Overall impression is that this hotel is nicely glamorized over an obvious outdated hotel. read more

I have mixed feelings about Campfire. So basically it was the cutest little place in Bend. There is a really fun vibe where you can party at the pool, and meet other people around the community campfire. They are dog friendly and the rooms were super comfortable and cute. My issues were this: it's in a pretty sketchy part of town, and I really didn't feel comfortable walking anywhere outside of the hotel grounds. Not to mention I didn't feel comfortable parking anywhere near that area. That's not the fault of the hotel though. There was also a power outage in the middle of the night while we were there, but no one mentioned it to us or gave us a heads up as to when it would be back on, so we just left first thing in the morning in the dark. I went into the lobby/gift shop to see if they sold the cute blankets that are in every room. They had a large gift shop area with all kinds of things to buy. When I asked about the blanket, the girl at the front desk looked at me like I was crazy. I had to explain to her a few times what I wanted and she just shook her head at me with a wide eye stare like I was asking her about aliens. Great option for the price. I booked this hotel for a long weekend trip to Bend. This is one of the most dog friendly hotels I've stayed in which is very important to me. When I checked in the front desk staff was very accommodating, moving me from a room near the front of the motel to one back away from the main roadway. I was also able to get a early check-in. The rooms were large and redone very nicely. The cute "campfire" touches were cool and the room was clean, with a very comfortable bed. There was also a little fridge in the room. Only thing I would have liked to have had was a microwave but there is one in the lobby guests can use (I'm just lazy). This place has that redone motel hipster vibe (which I love), with music playing on speakers across the property, an awesome fire pit, adorable lobby and nice pool and hot tub area. I stayed in the north building which was nice because it was near all the amenities but during the first night of my stay there were some VERY loud dudes at the fire pit after midnight. I slapped my airpods in and when I woke back up a little later they were gone, having been sent to bed by the front desk staff. This is an older motel that has been remodeled, so the walls are a little thin and you can hear your neighbors if they are loud. In recognition of this, ear plugs are provided, which are a nice, funny touch. The shower was lovely - awesome water pressure. Couple of notes - this property is located in an interesting area of town with transient folks wandering around the street behind the property. I was a little nervous at first but the property has cameras all over it and there were no issues. The location ended up being great for quickly accessing all Bend has to offer. Another note, when the property is fully booked, parking can be a little tight. I had no issues since I would get back in the afternoon but for those arriving in the evening, street parking was sometimes all that was left Overall really enjoyed my stay and would stay here again. read more

I love this hotel. Coming from Southern California, Orange County this hotel offers all the amenities that you need. We loved the bar, jacuzzi, big fire pit, and the all around vibe of the rustic feel of this hotel. The pool and jacuzzi is nice. Outdoor it is, so I imagine while it's snowing it will be epic. The showers are great for taller people and the water temperature is better than my shower at home. They have pretty good shampoo, conditioner and hand soup lotion etc. available. It's not your ordinary basic hotel stuff. The beds and pillows are clean and comfortable and dark. The location of the hotel is great because it's only a three minute drive from downtown Bend. Downtown Bend has much to offer with food, drinks and gifts. WE WILL BE COMING BACK. read more

The orange lights in the trees got my attention while I was driving around looking for a hotel. It's a super cute spot! I LOVE what they did with the remodel and making it feel very outdoorsy. I stayed here while on a solo Thanksgiving road trip with my dogs. They were really good about following all of the COVID precautions and my room was very clean. There is a really cute bar & lounge area with a bunch of games and instruments that guests can borrow. Unfortunately, due to COVID, that area was closed off during my stay. I'm sure it will be a lot of fun when things get back to normal. I would definitely stay here again the next time that I visit Bend. read more

This is a former cheap motel gone kitschy-themed groovy which first-timers will either love or hate. If you are a young person who enjoys a motel with a party atmosphere, you will love it! If you are a 50-something prima Donna who is used to more upscale places, you will be disappointed. First off, I am not a snob. I enjoyed the company of a homeless man sitting discreetly at the fire pit so he could stay warm. Yes, there does appear to be a homeless community behind the motel, but they did not appear troublemakers nor dangerous. The door of your motel room (it's not a hotel, folks!), opens right into your bedroom; the bathroom is too small to dress in. When my daughter opens up the door to go outside, the other guests walking past our room saw my husband in his underwear and me with boobs exposed! Did this bother me? Yes. That's the nature of the floor plan of motels! The beds were interesting: nice quality memory foam mattresses. Only problem is: you can't sit on the edge. It won't hold you. If you sleep too close to the edge, you will roll right off! The unsupported sides depress drastically. There's a retro phone in the room. Tried to call lobby but no number I tried worked! Visiting front desk later, I asked staff for instructions on how to reach lobby using their retro phone. She said she didn't know! Then the windows in the room had a serious moisture problem. I used a towel to keep it dry constantly. The fluorescent vanity light does turn on...after 10 minutes! There were a lot of quirks like this. These issues bothered me. But you might be more easy-going than me. read more

Don't stay here. It seems like it would be a cool place but the service is awful. When we first checked in, immediately we noticed the bad smell. We have a small dog so we were given a "dog room". We expect things not to be perfect in a room like that but this room smelled like 10 big dirty wet dogs had been laying on the rug in the heat. In addition, the shower soap dispenser was empty. No big deal, it happens. I went to the office to let them know of the issues. I was told they would send soap over and that the manager would take care of the smell when they returned to the office. Neither happened. We did however get an email saying they apologized for the smell (I can't stress how bad it was) and that they had "supply issues" with the soap so we wouldn't be getting any for our entire stay. We had to run out to the grocery store and get our own soap in order to shower. The email then said we would be getting $50 off our bill because of the issues. We just got home from the trip and I received an email with the invoice. Not only did we not receive the $50 off the bill, but we also were charged $20 for Prosecco from the mini bar. We didn't take ANYTHING from the mini fridge - Prosecco, beer, wine, or otherwise. I just called the office to get these items straightened out, and of course, the person I spoke to couldn't take care of it. I was told I need to try back later. I'm not the type of person to write reviews, I rarely do. But I felt it was important to write one this time. We really wanted to like this place because it looked fun but couldn't have been more disappointed. We paid over $600 for 2 nights for this. read more

Lots of extra like a swimming pool and places to hang out. Has a large campfire outside with live acoustic guitarist. People just chilled out around the fire and it was great!! Let's start with their contactless check-in. I checked in the morning we were to arrive thru the app. they sent me. Check-in was 4 PM and it said we would be sent our keys. As of 7 PM no keys were received so had to go into the lobby. The girl at the counter said she didn't know anything about the app. and would give us a room key. Walls are very thin and you hear everything. First day we left about 9:30 AM and the maid was in the next room. Came back to the hotel about 10:00 PM to an uncleaned room. We had to go to the lobby for clean towels. The girl in the lobby said if we have our sign out when they come around they don't come back due to COVID. OK don't understand that but she said they would have it cleaned the next day. The next morning we left about 9 AM and again the maid was outside our room. We asked her if she was going to clean our room and she said yes. Well once again we came back in the evening to an unmade room. Once again we had to go to the lobby for towels and toilet paper. The guy at the counter said they don't clean the rooms at all due to COVID until you check out. They need to get their stories straight. They never informed us at check-in that we had to ask for clean towels and toilet paper Daily. If its their policy not to clean your rooms at least leave enough towels and toilet paper for your entire stay. Room was dark and had a musty smell. Not sure what was above us but we were woken up about 5:30 AM with someone moving something across the floor. The hotel claims COVID for not cleaning the rooms yet the small bar was packed. We didn't sleep at the hotel the last night we had a reservation. I advised my family that lives in Bend to not recommend this hotel. BEWARE: there is an homeless encampment right behind the hotel and they roam around at night. Seen several of them out and about when we came back about 10.
