Campfire hotel is awesome for young people like myself looking to save money but wanting to stay somewhere comfortable and close to everything. When we checked in, the female working the desk had to interrupt our check in process twice to answer the phone (no problem, thats her job) and apologized when she got off the phone and gave me a FREE bucket of beer, wow talk about customer service. We brought our dog and they gave us a little bag for the dog including poop bags, a bandana for her, and a pamphlet regarding dog friendly places in Bend, what a great favor. You can rent a bike for the whole day or a half a day. The fire pits outside run from 4 pm to 10 pm and you are able to roast s'mores, sit, drink by the fire. Very nice way to end the night. Their pool/hot tub reservations were a bonus. You reserved a time at the pool/hot tub so there wasn't over crowding. The rooms were clean and had all amenities we needed. The only thing is that the room did smell a little musky like faint cigarette smoke but all the other things made up for it. Wouldn't stay anywhere else if we come back to Bend, thank you campfire! read more

This hotel is well appointed and has Beekman products in their bath/shower areas. The campfire area is cute and large enough to accommodate a group comfortably. The two stars is due to the inability of the staff to problem solve or even attempt to problem solve. I had an online scheduled meeting at 7pm that could not be missed as I was leading it. When I booked this hotel I confirmed the WiFi was strong. When I arrived I confirmed the WiFi and password. The staff on both occasions assured me it was strong. Upon arriving to our room the WiFi signal was weak and I attempted to connect my phone. Two signal bars max. My children turned on the TV which was Roku and attempted to watch TV but it constantly buffered due to poor signal strength and was unwatchable. We attempted Tom reset the connection in the TV settings but each time it stated poor or fair internet connection. I walked to the lobby to complain in hopes of them rebooting/resetting the router. The lobby staff was not helpful. She informed me that I was out of luck because the maintenance staff was off for the evening and she didn't know how to reset the router. I asked if she could make a call to maintenance and she said they were "off" for the night. Her solution was to make a note in the notebook. So we went to bed early. The next morning we woke to the same issues and I drove to a Starbucks to use their WiFi while my children sat in a hotel home room. Upon checkout I shared my issues with the morning lobby staff and she was unaware...proving the usefulness of the notebook. She offered me some product from the campfire lodge store to make up for the issue. I passed. I don't need a mug or tshirt promoting a hotel that provided a poor experience. When I told the morning lobby staff that the night staff could've improved the situation by apologizing and at least trying to make a call to get help she informed me that the managers never answer their phones so it wouldn't have helped for the night staff to make a call. I wasn't going to leave a bad review but my bill was just emailed to me and there wasn't even a small discount off of the bill. This hotel looks cute but they were unable to provide the service I confirmed and they assured me they could provide. If there was an issue the staff is not able to resolve it and apparently there is nobody they can call. read more

A dusted off days inn, without noise buffering between rooms. Was there with my family and had the misfortune of loud neighbors (all night). The complimentary ear plugs weren't enough to drown them out. The hotel did a decent job with the common space for what they had to work with, but the rooms were just a fresh coat of paint and wall paper. The bathroom was still reminiscent of a motor lodge. Got an email from the hotel Mgr asking how my stay was, let him know it was disappointing, especially when paying peak rates over the 4th. No response. I was hopeful given what I read on-line. I will definitely book elsewhere next time. read more

Its an interesting place, the rooms are comfortable and the outdoor seating is nice. My only two concerns are the level of evening noise coming from the bar and pool area and the horrible (and short) menu in the on-site dining area. To go along with that the bartender/server wasn't overly friendly towards us (we are more mature in our 60s) but seemed more than happy to laugh, giggle, explain menu items and chat with the younger men hanging around. read more

If you are traveling and just stopping to get some sleep this is not the place. We got a room on the "quiet side" and it was not. Stayed here while in Bend for one night. I think my boyfriend specifically booked it because of the nightly campfire, and I'm glad he did. They really do create an atmosphere that feels like you are camping. The rooms are comfortable, cute, and very on theme. The only thing I will say is that 1. The A/C unit didn't work too well and 2. There were some strange, disruptive noises all night. I'm a light sleeper so I am more sensitive to it, but this is an older motel that has been remodeled so I don't know if it's just creaking because of age (or ghosts?) but it was difficult for me to sleep. Overall I would still recommend staying here just for the aesthetic alone! read more

The hotel is cute, the employees are nice. I like the concept of the place, it is lgbtq friendly. The rooms are clean enough, although dated and kind of depressing, Brown walls, floors and curtains. The walls are paper thin, and in fact there are "complimentary earplugs" on the nightstands with a note saying there can be a lot of ambient noise, so earplugs are provided to "ensure your comfort"...... Dogs are allowed throughout the hotel and barking is a -ok as long as the owner is with the dog. Smoking is allowed outdoors as well, in fact there is a barking dog with a cigar smoking man just outside our door. Terrific. Parking is cramped and tight. The icing on the cake is the homeless encampment behind the hotel. 2 to 3 dozen homeless people at least. We did not feel safe or comfortable walking around except up on the main Street. This is the second time I've stayed here but probably not again. read more

Cute decor, fun amenities( fire, pool and outdoor lights are great) but the music is pretty loud until 10 ( not so bad as it ended around 10) beds and pillows were fine, room smelled pretty musty, bathrooms was small and old ( but functional), the treats/ mini bar selection was great, the floor was horrifyingly dirty- it turned my feet black, parking situation is pretty limited, staff member at the front desk was super friendly and helpful Overall fine for a decent price and fun atmosphere for younger travelers or families with older children just really needs to work on cleanliness and not a great option for anyone looking for quiet or an early night. read more

My family and I absolutely loved our time at the Campfire Hotel . The staff was so kind and helpful . The hotel is a total vibe . I love the concept felt like we were in the woods next to a bonfire with friends . The 90° pool was absolutely heaven and the Bar and the their bartenders make the most incredible drinks it's like nothing I've ever had before . Our room was so perfect. Huge comfortable king bed for Me and my man and comfortable by beds for the kids . It's semi cute with the campfire. Too bad they turn it off at 10:00, along with the hot tub. This place is LOUD! They blast Loud music until 10:00 pm. But once the music stops you hear everything from people talking to loud footsteps from the room above. Would be a fun place to stay if you just want to be up all night partying and making noise, but if you came here to sleep I wish you luck. Not only were the other guests too loud, and the music played by the hotel outside, they were doing construction on the hotel in the morning while we were trying to sleep. The amount of noise the construction crew created in the morning was simply unacceptable. We should have been warned ahead of time that there was construction going on so that we would've known to stay somewhere else. I'm very disappointed that the noise level caused by the hotel and it's guests at night was followed by an unacceptable amount of noise created by the construction workers and the cleaning crew in the morning. If you like sleeping and peace and quiet this is not the place for you to stay. read more

Such a cool little spot! Stayed there on a Sunday with my husband and kids on a road trip, and we loved it! The hotel was clean, the rooms were super cool with a campy, 70's vibe, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the amenities were great. The pool, though small, was clean and the pool area has a very hipster, party vibe. There was a DJ when we first arrived, and my only complaint was that it was too damned loud (loud EDM kind of kills the camp out feel), but if I were 20 years younger I would've loved it! He cut out at a decent time though, so it wasn't too obnoxious. The bar area was very hipster, overlooked the pool, and there were tons of great craft cocktails served by friendly bartenders. The food menu looked pretty tasty, though we never indulged (but I did have sandwich envy a few times sitting in the pool area). There were lots of dog people there with their pooches, but they were leashed and the owners seems pretty responsible--it's very dog-friendly. The massive campfire was pretty cool too, and it's a nice opportunity to chat with different people. Lots of young folks imbibing and getting a little rowdy, but nothing to write home about. There's no breakfast, but there is a store area where you can purchase breakfast items, including frozen burritos that seemed to be homemade. My advice is get it the night before, let it defrost in the fridge, and pop it in the microwave the next morning! Overall, it was a modern version of the road trip motels that I remember from my childhood, where people actually interacted. I would definitely stay again. read more

First off, this is a motel, not a hotel. I find the name completely misleading. All the rooms open to the outside, and the walls and doors are thin, so it's pretty noisy. The carpets were stained and kind of gross; otherwise, it was fine by cheap motel standards. There was no soap or body wash, period. We immediately called and asked for some, and they essentially said they were too busy but would try to get around to it. They never did. **I want to reiterate that at no point during our entire stay did we have soap or body wash of any kind, even after alerting the front desk.** We had to use shampoo mounted to the inside of the shower to wash our hands. We couldn't walk up and ask for soap because they don't use bar soap or small bottles here, they use dispensers mounted to the wall, so they needed to come fill them for us, which they refused to do. (Also, it was 95 degrees and the front desk was almost a block away, so we really didn't want to go out again.) The bottles are not clear, so it appears that the housekeeping staff is not trained to check them regularly (I'm guessing), or else both the body wash in the shower and the hand wash by the sink would not have been empty. I have never stayed at any hotel or motel in my life that didn't provide soap. This seems incredible to me. I've also never had a front desk basically refuse to respond to a simple request because they were too busy (there were at least two of them at check in). There are three different parking lots on two different streets, and they are not connected. I ended up having to drive in and out of all three of them looking for parking, and the spots were very tight. I was able to find a spot both times, barely. The street behind the motel was pretty sketchy, and I saw people rooting around in the trash just a few yards from where my car was parked, although no one seemed to bother my car in the night. There are some positives. The bed was quite comfortable. The outdoor lights were nice. The fire pit was cool and had lots of chairs, although we didn't use it. The pool scene was kind of cool with a live DJ, although it was very small, and it was loud while we trying to nap after a long weekend of camping and running in the mountains. Literally all we wanted was a hot shower with soap and a nap, which we didn't get. :) read more

This boutique hotel is adorable. The grounds are awesome and the room is comfortable and has a tasteful camping theme. That being said, I had to give it 3 stars because of the horrible towels and coffee. The towels were tiny, thin and scratchy and barely fit around me once. The coffee was so watery and gross that I could not take more than one sip. Another reason for my 3 star rating is the fact that they hand out pool passes to people who are not guests, and the pool was so crowded that we could not even find a place to sit and enjoy it. I also want to caution you not to book it through their website. They added $150 tax and resort fee which I would not have had to pay had I booked through Expedia. read more

Imagine if you will what was probably an Motel 6 just a few years ago transformed into a cool, hip fun motel with the most amazing vibes. Is this the calm relaxing zen garden lounging motel....nope. Is this the place you wanna have some fun either sitting outside at the campfire with a bunch of new best friend strangers enjoying a few beverages you bet your sweet bippy it is. The rooms are cool and facelifted but you can tell they took care in making the most out of what they had. They probably could have got a whole lot fancier but then they wouldn't be the budget treat that they are. 100 ish bucks a night is a great buy for how cool it is. Now they could really really use some help in the parking dept. It wasn't as bad for us as others have described but it could use some help. If you're there on the last weekend of the month sign up for the drag brunch, we didn't get to go but it sure sounded like alot of fun. read more

Room smells stale. Remodel was limited, so don't expect much. Walls are thin as are the floors, so I could the neighbors next to me and above me. The outside music for the fire pit and pool ambience plays until 10 pm. They provide ear plugs at your bedside..."properties like ours sometimes come with a little extra ambient noise -- please enjoy these complimentary ear plugs to ensure your comfort". Last night I stayed here with my boyfriend and I typically don't write Yelp reviews but this place deserves one! When we got there and checked in there was a small reservation issue, and the kind gentleman working (I believe his name was Lori) went above and beyond for us. He upgraded us to a beautiful room, gave us free burritos and local ciders, which were all sooooo good. Then the next day when check out is usually 11, we overslept and weren't even bothered until noon, and then they extended our late checkout even more and gave us until 1. All that, on top of the hotel being so awesome and lit up, the beds being comfy, the little shop they have in the office, I can say hands down this is my favorite hotel in Bend.. plus it is nowhere near overpriced. I though the rooms were nice and had a pretty cool theme overall. Cozy and campout vibes. That's about the only part of the stay I enjoyed. When we checked in, they assigned us to a room that was still un-made. Sheets on the ground and leaves and dirt on the ground. We ended up getting assigned to a new room. We noticed the deadbolt was missing, but didn't think much of it because we weren't worried about anyone breaking in. Sadly, no one had to break in to get into our room. At 12am midnight, two people walked into our room because they were booked THE SAME room. The staff tried to excuse the mistake and offered us free mimosas and s'mores because "money is just money and we want to give you an experience". Well they sure did give us an experience, just not one I hope to ever have again. read more

This is not a good place for families -- with the homeless camp behind the hotel, drunk and loud and high people, it is not a safe spot. Maybe if you are in your 20s and have no kids. Here's our experience: At first glance, this place is very cute. The camping decor is fun...but it stops there. This is a tired old motor-inn that has had a cursory facelift. Room was old and lights / shower / sink / toilet all with problems (either not working, clogged, spotty hot water, etc). There is NO daily cleaning service, even after staying there for 3 days with a family, and yet prices were just as high. They gave us 1 towel for a family to share and were irritated when we asked for more towels. But here is the really over the top thing: there is a large homeless camp behind the hotel so even though it may say "close to everything" you can't walk anywhere from this hotel and generally it feels unsafe. On Friday night there was loud fighting and yelling in the parking lot from some drunken people. Lots of smoking on property / people high. We did like the pool until the smokers came. I was really hoping for a nice place to bring my family and this was frustrating. read more

Well, my family and I arrived late from the Bay Area pulling a trailer 4x8 on my Toyota. The chap at the desk did not tell me that parking for large rigs was across the street. He indicated that their parking went around, however, I ended up having to unhitch my trailer and literally turning the trailer manually. I saw in the morning the large parking lot, however, our chap never shared the information. The occupants next to us pounded and yelled at us all night to be quiet. The rooms were decorated great, but ventilation was lacking. More time to Staff is needed than decor! read more

Aesthetics, room, vibe, hit 5 star checkpoints. The ONLY complaint is a big one. Their bar, hosts many non-paying guests. Which in turn, takes ALL OF THE PARKING!!! You're asked to use a parking pass which is given to you at check in.. for what!? The first night we stayed we came back to our room at 8pm and there was ZERO parking available. We had to park a block away from the hotel. Called the front desk and asked out of curiosity if there was designated parking for paying guests or if we missed a memo somehow. Was replied to with "well bar patrons usually leave around 11pm which will free up parking". We aren't pushers so we just said okay. Woke up the next morning to the parking still 100% full and over 30-40% of them with no parking passes STILL. The next day we attended an event and came home at 9:45pm... THERE WASN'T EVEN STREET PARKING AVAILABLE!!! So we drove to a tavern around the corner and waited it out until 11:30 to hope for a parking spot. FINALLY at midnight we witnessed many room parties ending and people moving vehicles. We were able to find parking at 12:10am ON THE STREET... As a paying customer, for almost two hundred a night, it's not too much to expect a parking spot near the room. Not to mention, the behind street parking is a homeless camp and very difficult to justify parking in that area as not to impede on their space. Five stars was possible... but with the parking experience, it's hard to even offer up 3 stars. Stop giving out "car passes" if they don't even do anything... read more

My cousin and I stayed here two nights for a wedding in town. PROS: to be clear this is a MOTEL and not a HOTEL, which is something we didn't realize but visually this place is really cute. The decor and theme is really awesome. We were very impressed when we first got in, however that quickly changed... CONS: this place is loud 24/7 (which they just give out ear plugs for, so they aren't trying to fix that issue), there's no hospitality from hotel employees, and most of all... there is ZERO parking! There are two tiny lots to park in that is clearly not enough to accommodate the number of hotel rooms here. We were given a parking pass and told we had to keep it in the window or be towed. So with already limited spots they also allow their bar customers to park there, without a parking pass. The bar runs 4-11pm. The bar music is loud and every time we got back to our hotel room, all the spots are filled by cars with no parking pass! First night we found a place in the lot across the street... annoying but fine, at least we are in the hotel parking lot. The second night we could not even find street parking and we stumbled upon a large homeless camp literally sitting up against the back of the hotel building which actually blocks any other street parking. Their parking is just a mess and when you call about spots being filled by cars without passes, they just tell you it should clear out by 11pm when the bar closes. But on this second night of not being able to find parking, we tried to wait it out at another bar. We waited until MIDNIGHT to be able to come back to our hotel and there STILL was no parking. We watched a couple of large groups exit a couple hotel rooms and go to leave. That allowed us to find a spot on the street. Am I so high maintenance that it's too much to ask to be able to park in the parking lot of the hotel that I am paying nearly $200/night for??? Or to not have to go wait it out for three hours at another bar just to be able to come back to my room to sleep?? Am I crazy?? This place just seems to care more about their bar customers than they do their paying hotel guests. I do not recommend. The parking headache, lack of customer service/hospitality, and loud environment is NOT WORTH the the charming decor. read more

We only stayed one night since we were visiting family in town. The retro, camp theme was really neat and our room was super clean and comfy. It has everything we needed to be comfortable. The best part was that the staff was super nice and helpful! There were two young ladies who helped me at check in and both were so sweet and nice. We didn't use any other part of the facility since we were only there a short time but it looked like the little bar area near the lobby was hopping. I liked the warm twinkly lights outside. Overall, it was really comfortable with a chill and fun vibe. But...the best part is that when we realized we accidentally left a couple items in our room after we checked out, some one from the hotel called us and said they would ship the items back to us! I was amazed! I just figured it was a loss since we left them there. The manager emailed me after I spoke with the front desk clerk and said the items are on the way. This was just recently so I haven't received them yet, but I'm sure they will be here soon. It was an unexpected surprise and really nice they did that! We'd stay there again for sure! read more

An amazing hotel!!! My wife and I got married on 4/3/21. As we arrived at our location on the Metolius River, my mother had a medical emergency and was admitted to St. Charles hospital in Bend. We grabbed a room at the Campfire Hotel and was amazed. Upon hearing our story, the staff was quick to make sure we were completely taken care of. We ended up having to stay for 5 nights. The atmosphere is truly incredible! From the campfire, to the music and decor, Campfire Hotel has hit the nail on the head! The rooms are clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and easy to speak with, and the service is untouchable! The staff turned what was a traumatic experience on my wife and my "special day", to a very enjoyable time at an incredible hotel in an amazing town during a very stressful time in our lives.
