coffee and tea station in room

Love this hotel. The rooms are huge. Ours had its own living room. Really nice soap and shampoos in the bathroom that smell amazing. They have order ahead room service from the restaraunt downstairs. I haven't eaten there but have heard good things. There's a hot tub and gym. Perfect location-close walk to all the shops downtown and restaurants. A really good coffee shop right across the street too. Valet parking. Would recommend staying here. No complaints.

King size bed.

This is my last and 3rd night here at the Oxford hotel. This is THE place to stay in Bend. The hospitality exceeded my expectations as every time I am in and out of the lobby, I have a staff member asking me if I need help, if I need any silverware for my take out, etc. The room is clean, large, with a comfortable bed and pillows. I love the shower/tub combo. The fresh press is a nice touch and I wake up every morning to a cup of hot tea using the kettle they provide. It can not be easier if you need anything, you are a text message away. I needed Kleenex Sunday morning and I received that in about 10 mins with the Sunday paper. Very nice touch. I also saw some snacks by the elevator which is complimentary to start your day. The location can not be beat as you are literally a 2 min walk from downtown. I was able to walk out and get gelato a few doors down and Thai food just 2 blocks down. There are many retail shops just down the block including restaurants, bookstores, candy store, clothing stores, coffee shops, etc. I also ordered room service from the in house restaurant 10 below downstairs a hour ago and they were quick to respond and deliver. Very friendly service. COVID update: No valet parking. It's all self park which is fine with me. No housekeeping unless you request it which is also fine. Masks required and all staff are wearing masks.

Huge, clean and beautiful room. Good service. Excellent fitness center with sauna, steam room and jacuzzi. Sad we didn't have time to use it. Coffee and tea in the room. They also offer complimentary washer and dryer for guests and bikes. Very grateful to find beautiful box with gluten free cupcakes for our birthday in the room. Highly recommend!

Great view at sunset.

Went to a social event outside for drinks and apps and enjoyed it very much. Service was good and enjoyed the outside table.

I recently stayed here as I was driving back from Spokane to California. I'm actually sad to say…read morethat I only had one night here as I really loved the vibe of the place and would have loved to spend more time at the hotel. I knew of the McMenamins line of hotels due to a friend who had taken me to their Edgefield property when I was visiting. They had described the place as an adult Disneyland and that's a pretty good description for it. It had so many things going on above and beyond the hotel itself. So, when I saw that there was a McMenamins in Bend, OR I decided to try it out. It was a little hard to figure out where the main entrance was as I arrived in town when it was dark out. I managed to find a parking spot quickly, but I noticed as the evening went on it was packed with cars. The hotel is located on a corner toward the end of the downtown area and it's an easy, well lit walk to shops and restaurants. But, there are so many options to eat and drink at the hotel that you don't need to leave if you don't want to. The main part of the hotel where you check in has a rustic look to it. I hadn't made reservations as I was trying to see how far I could get toward home before stopping. It was a Sunday night and thankfully they had an opening. The two people at the front desk were very nice and helpful and I was able to get a room in the main building. As a solo, female traveler I felt very safe and comfortable not only in the hotel but in the town as well. I also found out that not only do they accept dogs, but they accept large dogs. And the bartender I spoke with said the town is very dog friendly. Although my dog wasn't with me on this trip I would love to return with him. My room was a decent size. It had a lot of different lighting options so it could have been very bright in there if I preferred or I could keep it more dimly lit. They make their own coffee, so they had four packets of coffee out (two with caffeine and two decaffeinated), a small coffee maker and some cream and sugars. I happened to get a room that was ADA compliant, so the bathroom was huge with a large walk/roll in shower. It was a lot of white tile and it was spotless. I was so tired and the room was so comfortable I would have been happy just staying in all evening. The grounds have several bars, a hidden speakeasy, a movie theater and a restaurant. So, if you decided to stay at the hotel then you would have plenty to keep you occupied. The patios had tons of heaters, so it was still pleasant to sit outside on a cold night. I was right next to the lobby, so I was a little worried it would be loud and it wasn't. I was also right next to where they set out a coffee station in the morning, which was convenient. The bed was comfortable and I couldn't have asked for more. I definitely plan on returning and staying longer, so I can take advantage of all the amenities they have to offer.

I can say that I had the perfect vacation staying at this hotel. To start, I made a reservation for…read morethe loft suite with a large balcony. It was perfect because the weather was great, and we enjoyed sitting on the balcony listening to the amphitheater music in the evenings. If you have family that wants to go to bed before 10 p.m., the upstairs loft bedroom is perfect as it is quite soundproof. The downstairs had a bedroom and the bathroom plus a living room area. The room was very comfortable. The hotel has 3 floors and only one elevator, so sometimes we had to wait to get to and from our room. The lobby was nice and cozy. There is a fireplace and a small convenience store where you could get complimentary house coffee and iced water. They also had a container filled with dog treats and leashes. I also saw a few bikes outside that could be rented daily. The pool and hot tub were inside for year-round enjoyment, and the gym was perfect for a light workout. All the equipment worked and it was new and clean. The restaurant was definitely a hidden gem for breakfast. The woman who cooked the food on the weekday mornings was awesome. She sang while she cooked, and her food was that good. I ate way more than I wanted because it all looked great and was very fresh. Well worth the $14.00, or $4.00 if you had a voucher. Every morning, the selection was just a little different. The parking was good and you must put the plaquar in your window because if there is an event going on at the amphitheater, they will tow cars from the lot. The location is great for walking along the Deschutes River or doing a little eating or shopping in the Old Mill District. It is also a short walk to downtown Bend for other sightseeing.

My other complaint would be the fact that they didn't say anything ahead of time about the pool and spa being out of order, not listed on the site, not listed in the email not listed in anything. If I would've known that, I actually would've picked a different hotel. They did have a sign saying that you could go to one of their sister properties and use their Facilities, but the one with the hot tub was nowhere even near this location. You would have to drive to it. Hotel itself was clean, and they had the toothpaste I forgot to pack... but the beds truly are extremely awful. My other complaint would be just how loud the HVAC system was. Every time the AC kicked on it woke me up.

We stayed in the River Wild room, which had an outdoor entrance. The bed was comfortable, and the room was straightforward. Across the street is a coffee shop by day that turns into a nonalcoholic upscale bar type place in the evening. The breakfast was exceptional, and I appreciated their offer to make me some scrambled eggs since I'm allergic to dairy and could have the (delicious looking) frittatas. I was thrilled to have Metolius tea there. The hot tub is a nice amenity, though it was a bit scummy when I went in. I also was unaware that there was hot (and cold) water available in a book by the breakfast room for guests, and a mini fridge. None of the emails had mentioned anything about those, nor could I find any info in the room. So this is your heads up! I really wanted a cup of tea before bed, so having this info would have been appreciated. It's centrally located and great for walking to wherever you want to go, if that's your thing. When we arrived the extra bed was set up and it took over the whole living room which was a bummer. Then I stupidly slept on it the first night because it looked like a decent bed and I thought I'd let my mom have the king to herself but I woke up in absolute agony. Next night I slept on the king too and it was very comfortable. They should only have that bed set up on request because it's a terrible bed and should only be a last resort sleeping spot. Other than the horrible bed we had a very nice time.

While this inn has some nice things about it, namely a good bed and small patio, we found ourselves quite frustrated with the other parts of the stay. We brought our dog along, having checked that they were pet friendly and made arrangements to have the correct room. He is a calm, well trained, adult dog who is used to stayed in hotel rooms since we have spent a lot of time on the road. I , as always, read into their policies as available through Expedia and their website and found there would be no reason to expect anything different from our standard experience with other hotels. However, during check inn the women at the front desk asked what I was going to do with our pup while we are at the concert. Confused by this, she explained to me that their policy is not to allow dogs to be unattended in the room. She asked if I was going to leave him in the car (it is early September, and the heat would - as we know- make this extremely dangerous and possibly lethal for my pup). She additionally admitted that it would be hard to find that they hold this policy by simply looking through their website. In fact, the pet policies do NOT state that the pets are not allowed to be left in the room. Assuming we would have to cancel our plans for the night as to not have to leave him, we were extremely disappointed. Luckily, I was able to drive 45 minutes out of town to bring him to a family friends house until after the concert. This being said, this is not standard and is not conducive to being a "pet friendly" hotel if patrons are not able to leave their dog while going to dinner or an other activity. I even asked if we would be able to crate him and he could wear his e-collar (used for off leash work on our farm, but will guarantee he will not bark) which was declined. The women at the front desk was always kind, but unconcerned as to how this affected us and that we were not properly notified of the policy (nor would any other customer be). If we did not have family outside of town, we would have had to find somewhere else to stay or cancel our plans for the night. This policy needs to be made clear at booking. Besides for this, we were unimpressed with our room as it had a notable unpleasant smell when we walked in and had more than 10 bugs in the bathroom at all times. Including dead ones on the counter. The air in the room did not work, which especially frustrating during wildfire season as having a cool breeze come in is not an option when the air quality is extremely dangerous due to the smoke. Save your money and simply stay at the Hampton inn or one of the other places in town.
