Pulled pork eggs Benedict with fresh fruit.
    Amy J.

For some reason before I went, I looked the photos up here on Yelp and was afraid our room would be dumpy. They're not! They're really nice!! I think it's the color of the cabinets that make the photos not look great. The bed was very comfortable. The fireplace worked very well. The shower got hot quick and had good water pressure. View of the golf course was beautiful. The location is well maintained. Ac and heater were not too loud. Overall, very comfortable stay. Hotel cons: they only give two hand and face towels and you need to keep asking for them if you ever want more. You do have to request for room service before 11am otherwise you don't get it. There were weird dirty black spots in the bathroom walls towards the top. I don't think it's mold but just lady house cleaning. Rooms are pretty pricy. Food: that salad is weird. Steak was huge but it was sweet.....? Mashed potatoes and the broccolini was delicious. Deviled eggs are fresh! There's nothing worse than ordering them at restaurants and you can taste that they were premade. These were not premade. They were fresh. Eggs Benedict was fine. Pulled pork underneath was better than expected. Fresh fruit was indeed fresh. Biscuits and gravy was ok. Good gravy and meat flavor. Cinnamon roll was ok. Breading was dry. You'd have to eat it fresh. Had a tasty flavor on the maple icing though.

Sunriver Resort is a fantastic getaway for both couples and families. Located just 25 minutes south of Bend, it offers breathtaking views of Mt. Bachelor and a wide range of activities for all ages. Guests can enjoy delicious dining at local restaurants, world-class golf, and scenic bike rides along miles of paved trails. The resort also features indoor and outdoor pools, a well-equipped gym, and convenient access to a marina for water activities. While it's not all-inclusive, a little planning goes a long way in making the most of your stay. It is on the pricier side, but absolutely worth it -- our room had a stunning view that made it even more special. The staff were friendly, the grounds easy to navigate, and the overall experience was seamless. Highly recommended for anyone looking to relax and explore the beauty of Central Oregon. If you eat at the lodge kitchen - get the dungeons crab omelette.

Had such an amazing time at Sunriver. It is an incredible resort with amazing amenities. The photos are from a private rehearsal dinner for a wedding I attended. It was done very well and everything tasted great. Especially the Cobb salad. The restaurants and bars here are great. There is a golf course and 6 mile loop running trail that goes around all the homes. Awesome destination. Can't speak on the skiing but want to come when it snows and check that out too.

Really enjoyed this especially the jam

Excellent food, fantastic and friendly service with an enjoyable atmosphere. Yes the prices are high, but it's a resort so that's to be expected. The wife and kids loved it so much that we ate there twice a day and loved it

We've now been here twice and both times have been great. Service is always willing to help out. The aquatic center is wonderful and the outdoor pool and hot tub is incredible with a great view of the mountain. Rooms were clean and well stocked kitchen. Will continue to come back.

My sister got a great room at this resort. This is right down the road from us, but if you're looking for a quick getaway, I recommend this place. The rooms are very comfortable and I love being able to look out and enjoy the snow instead of being in it. They have a great indoor swimming pool here for the kids with a lazy river too. They do have food on the premises, but we always get something from around town, great choices!

My husband and I had a really lovely weekend stay at Sunriver! We enjoyed the property, the room (especially the wonderful bathtub), the restaurant and we even joined a pickleball tournament! Would love to come back here.

Dirty and non-functional gas fireplace in our room.

Our room was supposed to be ready at 4pm, which is already an obscenely late check in. The desk clerk, who appeared sullen and bored with his job, said it wasn't ready, but it would be ready in 30 minutes. We got a text 85 minutes later that our room was ready. We were given map that was nearly impossible to navigate in the dark given how poorly marked and lit the buildings are. After driving in circles for twenty minutes we found our building. The room was drab and the gas fireplace didn't work. Also, only a handful of channels on the TV. Better options in a cut-rate freeway motel. Not worth the drive from Bend. We won't be back.

Sun River Resort, was started in the late 60's ,I first visited it in the early 70's. It's in Central Oregon, just south of Bend Oregon. Nestled close to the Central Cascade mountain range. Close to the Deschutes river. ( Also there are over 150 lakes on the Deschutes National Forest. Most are small upper elevation lakes of varying sizes, accessed via the many miles of trails.) It is a very popular resort with cycling trails, golfing, skiing, spa, stores, restaurants, water sports, airport, horseback riding, fishing,ECT... Beautiful breathtaking views, with gorgeous nature, ponderosa pines, deer, bear, elk, owls, red tailed hawks, variety of fish ECT... Has something for everyone! Also has a history of a time gone by, with the Great Hall, was Fort Abbott training 90,000 men, engineering skills.built with 500 local logs. Was a barn, then turned into an officer's club. Now used for wedding venues, and catering. Never a dull moment, for all that's in the area is so exciting!

I recently attended a work-related conference at Sunriver Resort in Bend, Oregon, an area I love visiting for natural beauty and sunshine. As a first-timer at Sunriver, I didn't know what to expect from the resort. The natural surroundings were very much taken into consideration when designing the resort. The buildings and signage blend into the landscape; natural colors and construction materials let the trees, sky and beautiful river take center stage. If you are looking for peace and quiet, in a low-key setting, you've come to the right place. Because I was here for work, my review is mostly about my dealings with catering and banquet services. As a guest of the resort, my experience was top-notch! My room was well-appointed, and had a marvelous view of a green pasture with glimpses of the river in the background. I particularly enjoyed the soaring vaulted ceilings in the room, as well as the gas fireplace that really sold the cabin in the woods ambiance. I appreciated the ease of booking a pet-friendly room, however I wish the $50 a night pet fee were a bit more reasonable. Joey Tryon, the convention service manager, is the primary reason I wanted to write this review. His dedication to ensuring our conference was a success was evident from the start. He showed impressive attention to detail, genuine professionalism, and made us feel we were in capable hands at all times. Every aspect of our meeting was flawless. Joey's ever-present smile was charming and reassuring, and made us feel like we were family... even if only for the weekend. The menu featured a selection of dishes that showcased regional flavors; grass fed beef, wild salmon, and locally sourced produce show pride for all things Pacific Northwest. Each meal was expertly prepared and tasted wonderful. Several dishes needed a little more color and artistry to make them stand out, but I had no complaints in relation to flavor or portion size. Everyone in my team was pleased with the meals they were served. During my stay I made a point of exploring the resort's recreational offerings, including the spa and pool facilities, as well as the miles and miles of beautiful nature trails. Much of the facility is in the early stages of feeling dated, but the resort engineering team keeps the property well maintained. The staff are enthusiastic about meeting guest needs, which makes for an enjoyable stay. What more could I ask for? I'd definitely consider coming back for another stay.

Sun River in OR is sister to Suncadia in WA. I must say, OR does it better. The food was incredible, most the service was great. I went for my birthday, we took our pup, had the best time.

    Awesome Fireplace! Super comfy room.

I had to name the dude, he stares at me the entire time I'm in the room, especially with him over the bed. Heated bathroom floor tiles? Check. Amazing craftsmanship? Check. The kitchen here makes you want to drool. The upstairs has two cute beds built into the wall with cabinets separating them and curtains to pull over. I would have loved those as a kid! The living area is great and the couch/chairs are very comfortable for lounging. The mud room is perfect as we definitely came with weathered bottom halves from the days activities. The garage has a dog door going out back into a fenced off kennel run with a ramp and house. A German Shepherd could fit through just fine. The garage is also loaded with bikes, sports balls, games, skis and an extra fridge. There are TVs in every room, which is great if multiple families are staying here, to keep kids entertained if needed, outside of everything else there is to do. To be honest, we all only watched the Super Bowl 49 and then never turned the TVs on again. Oh and the tub upstairs is huge and magical. The only cons I could mention is the retreat being oddly situated off the road, so some road noise is heard from inside, which is funny to hear when looking out onto nature. Lastly, if the hot water is glacial, check the circuit breakers. They tripped on us and we didn't know the cause. Only took a few hours for the tanks to be warmed up. All-in-all ... This place is gorgeous and I would love to stay here again. The cabin is by a large air field so it is secluded a bit from everything but the road noise. (Though I just wondered how often it's used, it's winter so we've only heard one plan so far). The Village is about 5 minutes away and downtown Bend is 30 minutes. Bachelor Ski Area is also 30 minutes from here and a pretty direct route. Thanks for having us!!!

Please read below (4th paragraph is most important). Please avoid an extremely stressful experience and possible scam with Clark & Bridget Norske and their rental company Sunriver Vacation Properties ( www.SunriverRentals.net and www.KamaoleSandsCondo.net ). Without going into all the details of our experience with them, I will mention the most notable and important pieces of information you will want to know before considering doing business with Clark and Bridget. A group of mine and my husband's friends rented a Sunriver home from them over this last winter (2014) for a few days. It seemed too good to be true with the price, size, and beauty of the home that was advertised (but the home ended up letting us down when we got there). First, they were not easy to make reservations with (charged us the wrong amount). We arrived during the coldest part of the winter (it was -20 degrees while we were in Sunriver). They did not winterize their home and we unfortunately got blamed and charged for their oversight. Both my husband and I came down with a very severe case of the flu while we were there and ended up having to take it very easy (watch movies, sleep, play games mostly) with our friends. Because it was so cold during our stay, we needed to chop wood for a fire to heat the home, but other than that, we did not go outside except to use the hot tub one night. We were very respectful of their property and treated it with care, leaving it cleaner than how we found it and even going above and beyond their "Exit" protocol. We paid for a cleaning service, but left the house with minimal clean up work to be done (took out all garbages, did all dishes, swept, vacuumed, started a load of laundry) regardless of being so sick. I have worked at a church for over 7 years and my husband is a firefighter - we take care of other people's properties and our friends are respectful and careful as well. We even tried calling Clark when we opened the hot tub and noticed that it was not in the best of condition (there was a broken piece that we did not want to get blamed for and we noticed a paper poster in their garage looked like it had been ruined), but none of their phone numbers were correctly listed, even the emergency line. One week after our stay I received a VERY disturbing email from Clark accusing me and my group of leaving their rental home a complete mess. Among other things, he accused us of using a knife to slash a poster in their garage, turning their outside water on and leaving it running (on purpose) and making a mess of their house. Because of this, they charged my credit card for $300 right away WITHOUT permission to do so. I had to block him from my credit card, but could not get the money back. His accusations were 100% false and we wondered if he was trying to scam us for extra Christmas money possibly? He threatened to get his lawyer involved right away and to sue us for additional charges, so we sought legal advice as well. Our lawyer went on to let us know that what Clark and his wife were doing was completely illegal and that they were, in his words, "crazy." Clark sent an email to my employer along with pictures of his "evidence" letting them know what kind of bad employee he thought I must be. He also called my work and tried leaving a voicemail for our head pastor to let him know what kind of bad person I am (that I slashed his poster, left his water on, and drank too much alcohol while on vacation). He also had his wife call a few days later trying to contact my boss to smear my name. They threatened to put my name on a "Never rent to again" list for VRBO and all of Sunriver (does that even exist?). He did all of this without once calling me to talk about the situation. He immediately accused me and took VERY harsh action. Needless to say, it was a terrible experience, a VERY expensive experience (and right before Christmas)...please never rent from them! I was so disturbed by this experience that it has scared me to rent from other people ever since. My husband, friends, and I are so confused and shocked at how Clark and Bridget choose to treat their guests. It was completely un-called for and bizarre. There are far better homes to rent and from people who will treat you with respect and not harass you or take your money without due cause. Avoid these people and their homes at all costs if you don't want to get sued for no reason while trying to take a peaceful vacation.
