We stayed here one night on our way through town on a 10 day road trip. Our room was great! Very nicely kept, updated, and had everything we could have possibly needed. The furniture is very nice, the bed was very comfortable, the electric fire place kept us warm through the night and we loved the rustic feel of the entire place. Even the bathroom is nicely updated and spacious with a great shower. The lodge sits in a nice neighborhood a little off the beaten path. Town is a quick drive away if you need to stock up on anything, find a restaurant, or stores. There is a small fridge available in the rooms. There is a common area with a hot tub and a grill that can be used but we didn't check out that area so I can't give it any rating with my review. The owners of the lodge also have the MotoFantasy business at this location if you'd like to rent a motorcycle to tour around on. We got a chance to look at some of the bikes, and chat with one of the owners, but didn't have time on our trip to rent a bike. Our only complaint was how loud the noise is from others staying in the lodge. It's not that the neighboring people are intentionally being loud. The lodge itself just has a very hollow sound throughout and isn't set up to soften the noise coming from other rooms. We could clearly hear others talking, phones beeping and ringing, TV, doors opening and closing, others showering, toilets flushing and just general walking and moving around. It made for a loud evening & morning. We left pretty early due to this. Overall, we enjoyed our visit to the area. It's a very nice lodge and an awesome place to check out the motorcycles. Just bring some ear plugs for a good nights sleep. read more

We stayed in the "Fall Suite" for a quick Saturday get away. I couldn't find our check-in email so I called and Gloria, who was incredibly sweet, confirmed our stay and even texted good directions. We were met by the cleaning lady as we arrived. I didn't catch her name but she was very friendly. She asked if we needed anything after doing a quick scan of our room and even went to see if she could find decaf coffee for us. Which speaking of coffee, its a real coffee pot with real coffee! Not just the pods. Some stir sticks would be nice. Our two good sized dogs had plenty of yard to run around (we made sure to clean up after them immediately each time). The room was clean and cute. We did move the furniture around to suite us better. The chair sits in front of the couch due to it being a small room. It still worked perfect for us. We sat on the couch and used the ottoman to play cards and dice while we watched a Halloween movie. The gas fireplace in the corner was a nice touch. It was a super cozy evening! There are two adjoining doors on either side of the room if you had friends or family in other rooms. The refer is a good size for drinks and snacks. The bathroom is big with a big walk in shower. Easily fit 2 of us. It did take me several minutes of messing with all the knobs to figure out the shower. The water pressure was just OK. The temperature knob was very touchy... quickly went from warm to hot. Check in and out was super simple. I sent a text to Gloria and she was quick to respond. I am giving 5 stars, even with the minor issues, because overall it was a great stay and we will be back for sure! read more

Is there truth in advertising? Not in real life. But in La Pine, Oregon, there is. The Diamond Stone Guest Lodge not only lives up to its image as advertised, it exceeds expectations. Why? Well, the motorcycles have something to do with this. Ditto the great pancakes, fresh coffee, sausage, eggs, and fruit. Because Doug makes them with care and he seasons them with wonderful topics of conversation. The same care that he has taken in designing the lodge facilities themselves, and in assembling his amazing motorcycle collection, which guests can rent for epic road trip adventures in the Cascade Mountains. What a rare and winning combination! I actually preferred staying here, in La Pine, than in Bend. It's an easy drive from the main highway, but also secluded with lots of open space and expansive skies to make you appreciate the natural beauty of this place. It's close to the Newberry National Volcanic Monument, which is like a little Crater Lake, but much less visited. The drive/hike/snowshoe trek to the top of Paulina Peak (7985 ft.) is a fantastic excursion. And DSGL would be a great HQ for exploring the backroads and lakes in summer. The Pond Queen BR in the Homestead Lodge is a nice place to stay; an excellent bathroom, a comfortable bed, some big windows, and as much privacy as you can handle. I stayed here as a rest stop on a 1300 mile trek from Northern CA to Western MT, in January, and it was just right. The Goldilocks effect, you might say: not too big, not too small, but just right. My Wife surprised me with a last minute weekend trip to the Bend area. She wanted someplace close to the Newberry Volcano. She was able to find a room at the Diamond Stone Guest Lodge for the two nights we needed. We arrived late in the day and as soon as we arrived the hosts made us feel right at home. We got settled in our room, which was just right, a studio style with a mini kitchen, and a nice sized bathroom with a really cool shower. We headed out for a late dinner at one of the local sportsbars and then returned for the evening. We got up early the next day, and headed into Bend for some Acai bowls, then headed out to explore the Volcano, and the Lava Fields. We were informed that there would be a "Happy Hour" at 5pm if we were interested. We did not get back until almost 6pm and were afraid we would miss the Happy Hour, we did not. We joined our host, Doug, and another couple outside, and proceeded to enjoy cold beer, very tasty Tequila and stimulating conversation for the next several hours. So, "Happy Hour" went for actually about 3 hours! We decided we wanted to grab a late dinner and went to the Sunriver Resort and had a very nice dinner at the Owl's Nest. We checked out the next morning and after a long goodbye hit the road for more adventures in Bend. Overall we really enjoyed our short time at Diamond Stone. I should also mention that if you are a motorbike enthusiast, then this is your place, as they also run a Fantasy Motorcycle Rental Business. What a cool find! We loved our two days at DiamondStone. We rented the upstairs Treetop just for the two of us though it's big enough for our whole family. Our very welcoming hosts immediately made us feel at home. We enjoyed the kitchen and hosted friends for a big breakfast. This is a terrific jumping off spot to explore Paulina Lakes, Fort Rock, Cascade lakes and Three Sisters hiking trails. We would certainly stay here again - though we'd bring some more friends and family to fill the space. read more

We loved this place! It was amazing to find a place that did not kill the wallet yet could hold the entire family/ extended family and four legged family members. Diamondstone made us feel like we were at one of our own homes not a hotel. We woke up to snow one morning which was a dream come true. It melted off later in the day which was nice so we could go out and about. They have thought of everything here. We held an anniversary party event upstairs for thirty people and it worked perfect. This is a fantastic place to stay - right across the road from Newberry's Paulina snowmobile trails & lakes, about a 25 min drive to Dutchman's Flats sno park & Mt. Bachelor. We had a B&B King size bedroom, private living room, wonderful breakfasts, & internet access! Highly recommend if you're going to Central Oregon for winter fun. If you've got a big group that needs lodging, they have an amazing 4500 sqft house that sleeps 12 and has the coolest shower/jacuzzi things you've ever seen - right out of star trek. And they offer MOTORCYCLE RENTALS in summer if you have an endorsement. read more

We had a great time at the lodge, plenty of room and it was well stocked with pots,pans and dishes. It was a little awkward with the moto fantasy stuff being run out of the garage, but we were given fore warning. The only opportunity for improvement was the water pressure. Judging by another review, it appears as if it is an on going issue. The caretaker gave us warning that the water pressure was an issue before our weekend stay. After our stay we were given the impression, from someone different that they didnt know about the water pressure and if we had let them know, a repair could have been made to fix the issue. Then we were told that filling the hot tub, and filling the pond, along with a clogged filter/pump were the reason for the low water pressure? Whaaaa? The hot tub was already filled and the pond was a stagnant pool of slime. We were also told that a repair person was on site after our stay to fix a clogged filter. We were traveling from Philadelphia back to the Portland area. After 7 long days traveling we just couldn't quite make the last push to Portland. It was Labor Day weekend and we were having a heck of a time finding a place to stay the night. After a search I found DiamondStone and gave them a call. As luck would have it, they actually had room available. I spoke with Gloria on the phone as we were eating dinner in Paisley. She was so great. When we got there about 9:00 pm - Doug greeted us graciously and gave me the info I needed for the room. What a pleasant surprise this place was! Absolutely the best place we stayed on our cross-country trek!! We absolutely loved everything about the lodge and room we were booked in. It was so cozy & comfortable- and had everything we could have hoped for. Unfortunately we could only stay one night. But both my sister & I said we can't wait to come back and actually spend more time here. In fact we are trying to talk our whole family into making a trip here for a fun long weekend.
