Finally had a chance to check this place out for breakfast and loved it! First, the coffee was SO good! Hubs had scrambled eggs, bacon, and a side of tomatoes along with whole wheat toast; I had a breakfast sandwich with egg, bacon & cheese, and a side of hash browns (nice and crispy just like I like them!). Everything was really good! My only wish would have been a little more bacon on my sandwich - next time I'll know to ask! Restaurant is nice and clean and bright (bathrooms are SPOTLESS!) and our server was very accommodating and friendly. We look forward to coming back again! read more

Went here after a terrible morning experience with our hotel checkin at Delta 8 by Marriott. The food was amazing, I ordered the country omelette and my fiancé ordered the banana waffle. Our waiter was amazing as well always checking in on us but also giving us time to eat and have our conversations. She did not interrupt us one bit. The overall place seemed like a mom and pop restaurant. The ambiance was like going to a local Cracker Barrel without the props. Only complaint was that the waffle was possibly too " sweet ". read more

Hidden gem. This place used to be a bank building so it's easily passed by. But definitely don't let it pass you by... The staff is very friendly, the owner comes out and greets you and even talks about menu. Ideas in the food was absolutely delicious. Our waitress was Sarah, and she was a sweet as can be, and told us that her favorite was the bacon cheeseburger. We wanted to try it and the the grilled cheese and they were both fabulous. This is an update on Sunrise. Sorry, I couldn't attach this to my original review but I need to show you the AWESOME staff. Gary is our FAVORITE ‍ cook of all time. He is so special. and adorable (shh) He'll try making garlic knots, garlic bread, then give them to us to try. I'm in love with his Turkey Dinner. It's usually a Thursday night special. Sunday's Rob makes homemade lasagna. Absolutely delicious The food has turned around and you must try it again. The new owners are Rob and John and they changed the food recipes. The owners also bought Gourmet Kitchen up on Granada past route 95. You will NOT be disappointed in either restaurant. I have to do mornings at Gourmet Kitchen and dinner at Sunrise. I do NOT like to cook and especially clean my mess after cooking so, we go out aah lot. The staff is so much fun. They have sooo many regulars and they remember what we like. We ordered three large pizzas all different. The price was extremely reasonable for what we purchased. The quality was absolutely excellent. Quite frankly I was a little surprised because the restaurant advertises as pizza and grill but was not expecting this quality of pizza from a diner. Very pleasantly surprised. Left Beach wanted to try a place on beachside as we don't usual dine on this side of town. Looked up reviews and glad we stopped. This place is open airy clean and had great service. Our Bill was $23 and portions were plentiful. We would visit again. The only thing I'd add is they should have a radio or some background music to cheer up vibe. We've come here before. Decent food, service. But this visit - I ordered a mimosa, and after a minute the waitress said they were out of champagne (it's prosecco btw). No problem, how about a Bloody Mary? Minute later...nope. out of vodka. Publix is in same parking lot. Had to say it. "You know there's a liquor store right there." You have to be kidding. Been here for breakfast and lunch before, went for dinner for the first time. Started with the most delicious onion rings ever. Eggplant Parm was well presented and so good, served over spaghetti. Salad with house dressing was a nice side dish, and a freshly made bread stick rounded things out. My companion's lamb gyro looked so good I think I will order it next time. First time visiting this cute little spot in Ormond By the Sea, and we are so happy that we did! The service was awesome, and everyone was very friendly! The servers have a wealth of knowledge about the area, and their location & menu! We didn't wait for a single thing, and they checked back with us throughout the visit. It was pretty busy when we were there, so we really appreciated that they were able to be so attentive. Local owned and operated, and also took the time to recommend other local owned places to show support for area restaurants that are family run. Not really sure where the 4 and 5 star ratings are coming from. We had breakfast here and it was good but there is nothing special about it. The place is a regular diner -- nothing noteworthy about it. We were greeted when we arrived and took a seat. When they first open they served good size portions, food was freshly cooked and hot. The last couple of times I have noticed their portions are a lot smaller and food at times come out warm or cold. Service is friendly, but there are just a couple of servers, which make service go slow. So try to avoid going when is crowd! The place is spacious and always clean! read more

We were weekly regulars. Then due to health issues we started to order over the phone through DoorDash. Every time we ordered there was something missing from the order. The quality of the food just wasn't there anymore. Under the new ownership something is lacking. There's no consistency in the food. The servers are some of the best we found anywhere. Although several of the great service have suddenly disappeared. The same thing happened to the gourmet kitchen restaurant. It is now called the Southern kitchen. Also food quality is not consistent. And several of the servers that have been there for decades are gone. It's just not the same. It's a shame because these are two prime locations that could do really well with proper management. Even after calling the restaurant and speaking to management about the orders being wrong all the time. Nothing improved. I highly recommend the Ormond Beach diner which is right down the road on A1A. Top quality food beautiful atmosphere and wonderful servers. read more

Great pancakes but hash browns kind of the worst, they were total smashed up, chopped into small sections and just full of oil. Great hash are browned on one side and flipped before serving. read more

A neighborhood staple. My Dad and I go here nearly every week for dinner and we have our "table." It's tradition. To start the staff, even the new staff here are just fabulous and truly one of a kind and they feel like family, even if you're just coming in for the first time. Tips on food: you have options. I love this. You can get breakfast or you can get dinner and all of it is good. My favorite thing to get here is the Hawaiian calzone. It's always cooked with consistency and I've never had a miss. Had food here at least twice on our trip. First we did a delivery meat lovers medium pizza and mozzarella sticks. Both we delicious. Pizza was loaded with toppings. Wasn't greasy. Mozzarella sticks were yummy, six to an order. Also they delivered this to our hotel which was awesome. We had breakfast there the next day. Eggs, bacon, hash browns, toast. We came in an hour or less before closing which can be a challenge these days. This place didn't disappoint. We ordered two omelettes (western and meat lovers) and patty melt. The patty melt and fries were very tasty and hit the spot. The omelettes and hash browns came with large portions and included a side of toast.
