This morning my husband and I were going out for breakfast, I suggested Heffer's Kountry Cafe, reviews were good and we like trying new places. When we walked in, we were told to sit anywhere, it was only 40° this morning, so we decided to sit at a table away from the door. We were greeted and the young man was friendly. My husband had coffee and I had ice water. I did notice that if was loud inside as far as people talking loudly across the dining room from tables. Our server took our order my husband ordered 2 eggs, sausage gravy and biscuits with bacon. I ordered an egg over easy with hash browns, 2 sausage links and wheat toast. Our food was served quickly and we thought everything was going good. But then a SUV pulls up outside and apparently Tuesday morning is when they get their delivery. They propped open the door with all the cold air coming in, everyone except the cook that was working there stopped what they were doing and started to unloaded their order. Never once were we asked if we needed anything. My husband was almost hit in the back of his head with a big box of snack size Lays potato chips. Honestly, that was very unprofessional if they do this every Tuesday morning, they are only opened until 2 PM. They have all afternoon to have an order delivered or come in early before the restaurant opens to have it delivered. You do not go back-and-forth through a restaurant ignoring your customers because you have a delivery. Besides that... aren't most deliveries brought in through the back door not the front. We waited for our check but never came so we stood at the register until we could pay our bill. Hadn't been here in a while and was IMPRESSED with how much better it's become. It's now a popular spot that I had to wait 10 minutes for a table, but it was worth it. There's ample wait seating and a pet store worth exploring. Highly recommend the Britches Buster Breakfast FEAST for $10! I had 2 eggs, crispy hash browns, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy and another biscuit. Wow! It was really tasty and hit my cravings for a BIG country breakfast. Service is chaotic but professional and efficient teamwork. It should also be noted that the kitchen staff here is not only talented, but also read the tickets even when slammed, so you actually GET what you ordered! Portions and prices are generous where you can afford to treat a friend. This is an honest and simple place with hearty plates, so don't expect any nonsense fancy decaf, lattes or any regular fresh fruit or squeezed juices/smoothies. Found this place through a random review. We had to wait a few minutes cause it was Saturday morning during biketoberfest, and it was absolutely worth it. We started with coffee that comes in giant cups, steaming hot, and was delicious. We shared the corned beef hash with hasbrown casserole (you HAVE to try it!). Absolutely stellar food, great portions, in a really comfortable environment. All told we were in for $17 and change. It was so good we took her parents and sister back the next morning! This was our third time here. We live locally and are always on the look-out for our regular breakfast spots. The first time we came was just after the opening of restaurants after COVID, so a lot of restrictions still in place. Food was good, service nice, great value for the price. The decor is all about cows, and the ambience was that of a local crowd meeting spot. The second time we came we thought we probably wouldn't be back. The Husby ordered pork chops and eggs, and I ordered the ribeye steak and eggs special. The pork chops had freezer burn and were so hard you couldn't cut them even with the steak knife. My steak was also pretty tough as well. They did apologize about the pork chops, but still. Recently, I had an appointment one morning close by, and we just wanted something to eat so we thought, "why not?" Again, service was great, very friendly. Started the first day of our vacation, here! Love this great breakfast place and was so thrilled with my order of the Philly Cheese Omelet with mushrooms, onions and provolone cheese. It was full of the delicious steak and fillings with cheese in every bite. They have a full menu and the only problem is choosing what to order! We've been to Heffers at least 30 times in the last 4 1/2 years. Their food is very good, prices are fair and usually their service is as well. When we entered thr restaurant there was one table for two and 4 or 5 larger tables available. We didn't want to sit at the larger tables so that larger parties could use them. We sat down, a server brought us menus and left. Our small table for 2 had some crumbs from the previous diners. Five minutes later, two parties came in after us, sat down, were given menus. I overheard the server say loud enough, "sit anywhere except a dirty table." My wife looked over and both tables already had their drinks and the server was taking their orders. Here's the thing, we tried to be considerate and not take a big table when we arrived. We've been at Heffers several times when they had to take names because they didn't have enough tables. Unfortunately we were not even asked what we wanted to drink let alone what we wanted to eat. I'm aware this is a small, family owned business and it troubles me to write a bad review since my my family was in the restaurant business and since we have frequently been to Heffers so many times. Now, it could have been the server that gave us the menus just forgot we were there, or she decided to make a point and make us wait because we sat at a table that wasn't cleaned yet? Found another mom and pop place in the Daytona area. Heffers is only open for breakfast and lunch. Great selection on the menu for breakfast. Lots of types of 3 egg omelettes. I had my usual 2 eggs sausage and potatoes and you can get home fries or hash browns. Eggs done perfectly and yes they have rye toast. Good service and fast.
