Ambience - Rather good on Friday at 5-6pm. Some happy tables toasting and enjoying. A few singles and couples at the bar, seemed to be regulars. Service - possibly too much! :-) We happened to be seated at the end of the bar and every time a server passed us, they checked on us, tried to collect servingware (some of which was awaiting use) and asked if we needed anything. They were friendly and welcoming, not pushy. Tip: We heard a server describing flights to a nearby table. We had not been told of these. There was a $12 mystery flight with either 3 reds or 3 whites. There was a premium 3 taste red flight at $18. I am using the word taste loosely here as we were advised each taste in the flight is 1/2 glass. Everyone was happy to let us taste any wines that were open. The premium flight included a higher end version of the wine we got by the bottle (Mendoza Malbec) which the proprietress proactively offered us. Judging by that alone, the premium flight would have been worth the price. All wines by the glass were $7 or $15. On to the food and menu: The menu is a nice size and has offerings that would appeal to many palates and appetites. We tried the Crab Remick and the Grazing Board MKT ($20). We were there a year ago when the transition from "Better Days" to the "vine" was still in process. I liked the old menu a little better, but that's a matter of taste. The crab cakes and pasta choices are not on the menu now. (There is mac and cheese) For a scratch kitchen it is strange to me that they don't have any bread. In fact, I question whether they make the crostini. These crostini are small, cracker-sized, and have garlic flavoring. The actual crackers are clearly not made in house (see my photo). I looked at the photo of the French onion soup to see what bread is in there and I could not tell. But here is the thing, coming from Northern CA, having bread, preferably sourdough, to go with your cheese and wine is a key part of the experience for me. I think the Bistro is missing a couple big opportunities here. The first is to offer fresh bread with both the wine tasting menu and the brunch. And the other one is to get SF sourdough starter and use that for a unique and special attraction. Last time we were here, we got the meatball sliders and we really liked those. BTW, they offer tablets that have the menu, including photos, and wines, if you like to access the information that way. read more

Don't judge a book by its cover. I've always passed by this place, but never thought to try until recently. It's located on US-1, in a small non-busy strip mall that doesn't really draw your attention to stop by, however, we did decide to give the place a try after reading pleasant reviews. Overall great food and friendly staff. We went on during an early weeknight, which was nice and quiet. Would dine there again. read more

Food is good, have been for dinner twice and lunch once. My husband loved the Fried green tomatoes and the shrimp and grits . I had a quiche which was very good and a filet that was cook perfectly. Wine selection is good. Wait staff is knowledgeable &attentive. Owner circulated and made sure we were happy. Ambiance is pleasant a little loud but not so much that we could not hear each other. For Lunch!! What a great meal we had at Vine Bistro! On U.S. One, just before the Piranha Grill. The four of invaded the place at 12:45 to find plenty of room and a welcoming staff. Our friends, who had eaten there before, said that this was the place for some really good food without any. attitude. They were correct. Liz, our server, was prompt with water and menus and Joni, the owner/chef, was there soon with a hearty greeting. We ordered some SVB and a Cab, along with a Corona Special (frozen glass and lime chunk, squeezed just right, of course).We kidded Liz as much as we thought we could get away with and ordered two of the chicken salad croissants, a burger (medium rare or less) and a beautiful charcuterie. The sandwiches were ordered with "crispy fries" and, they were - and they were wonderful. Seasoned perfectly and so hot! The SVB came out cold, the Cab, not quite right (it needed some ice (yuck)). My burger was prepared just right. Ooooozing beef juice and destroying the bottom bun. Did I tell you I liked the fries? The charcuterie plate looked sumptuous and certainly generous. This place is a new gem in town!!! My husband and I celebrated our 10th anniversary last night at Vine Bistro and it did not disappoint! We will definitely be back. The food was AMAZING!!! You have to try the De'Vine shrimp! It was the perfect way to start our meal. The service was exceptional. Everyone we talked to was so nice and helpful. They make you feel like family from the moment you walk in the door. Their live music created such a fun ambiance. We really enjoyed our time and left so thrilled to find a great new spot. read more

There was a large group seated before we got there so we were told there would be a 15-20 wait for any food. No problem.....we would have a glass of wine and wait. I had to make three choices before I chose one they had. My wife ordered Chardonnay and she also got her third choice. I ordered bronzed grouper and it was just ok. My wife ordered chicken piccata and did not like it. Said it was much too dry. Our server, Kelly, was wonderful and did her best under the circumstance's. No hurry to give it another try! read more

Whether it is an awesomely fresh Bronze Grouper with great grits (they even make the broccoli taste good somehow), or the absolute greatest smash burger that I have ever put into my mouth and then make it even better on the next trip by adding another one of those patties making it a triple smash burger with a simply amazing blend of hamburger that is second to none. As as great as the food is the staff is friendly and fun, always on top of everything. They have quickly become our favorite place to eat in the Daytona/Ormond area. Perfect every time. We've been coming here since they opened a little less than a year ago. The chef, Mark, is incredible! I've tried nearly everything on the menu, and I recommend it all. My favorites are the Fried Green Tomatoes, French Onion Soup, and two of their specials: French Onion Pork chop and Cajun Pasta with Chicken and Shrimp. We brought friends of our last night who were visiting from out of state, and they asked if we could come back when they came back through the area. They even said that if they lived nearby they would come in all the time, and they can be picky. The waitstaff was excellent as usual, very responsive. Delicious! Everyones food was great and each of us tried various menu items. We were very impressed. I had the fried green tomatoes. The smoked applewood bacon crumbles on top were delicious!
