We got the crab dip. It came with crostini, yay! It is surprising how many places around here serve fish dip or crab dip with crackers. And the "other" wine bar in Ormond Beach doesn't even have bread in the restaurant. The crostini were freshly made, with a touch of garlic. The crab dip was delicious and had lumps of crab in it. Very filling. This wine bar has a lot of European and South American wines, not just CA. And the woman working there was pretty knowledgeable. She also encourage us to taste the wines before committing to a glass, which was appreciated since most glasses are $15+. We both got red blends and they were both good. The atmosphere is very laid back, not pretentious. There are clear signs that everyone is welcome here, straight, gay or otherwise. the couches are beckoning, and the conversation pits are well set up. We were here right after opening, around 5pm. And at first it was empty but that didn't make us feel awkward because the staff were attentive without being intimidating. They were very welcoming. We left saying we willl go back when we have more time and appetite and try sitting at a couch instead of the bar. read more

Finally able to get in and see this new place. We're normally not down here later in the evening and this does not open at lunchtime. The ambience is very festive and fun. Service seems to be very pleasant with a very nice waitress. Plenty of options between wine as well as cocktails. The charcuterie boards are very hearty and well done. read more

$20-30 We went on a Thursday evening with a group of girls for a girls night out. The food was amazing. At the beginning of our visit service was great however started lacking at the end due to what appeared to be only one server working the whole restaurant, so it was no fault of hers. What the downside of the evening was the music. It was SO loud no one could talk. There were two women at the bar that asked them to please lower the volume and the keyboard player was great and said no problem. The Sax player (who sounded great but way too loud) was very rude back and said "you come a live music venue to listen to the music not complain about it". The women ended up leaving. We then asked them to please lower the volume as we were literally having to yell to one another to talk. It was never lowered. Contrary to his comment most people going to a wine bar want to talk when they are with a group of people and the music should be at a level where people can talk and hear one another not leave hoarse. One of the women in our group said they had been once before and left for the same reason. We all agreed we probably won't return strictly because of the music situation. Great place, fabulous food but definitely need to get the music situation under control. It's not a concert venue it's a wine bar venue. read more

Absolutely wonderful service!! Decided on a whim to stop in and I am so happy I did! The two chefs were incredible, there was live music, and the decor was so cute. Will definitely be back. read more

My favorite constituent of The Cork Group (two members currently) was excited to learn we'd be trying the new Madeline's Wine Bar on Beach Street. Luckily I had a good idea where it was located because either the outside signage is small or non existent. Seating is dicey. There are two bars. The first one has stools that I was reasonably certain would implode if I risked sitting on them. Apparently I looked uneasy because the woman behind the bar quipped that many people have commented about the stools and they plan to replace them soon. The other bar has sturdier seats but no place for your knees. The rest of the seating is made up of various couches, side chairs, and a long dining room table. I'm sure it works well for groups but slightly awkward for couples. One positive I don't want to forget mentioning; there was plenty of help the day we visited. Some reviews have mentioned a lack of service attention. On this evening there were two employees prepping food, at least three perhaps four waiting tables / tending bar and management visited our table to check on us. This establishment is promoting itself as a wine bar. Keeping that in mind, I think the overall wine selection is lacking. Another negative would be prices. The two meat charcuterie board was tasty, probably had 30 items on it and was beautiful. But at $50 it seemed a bit steep. Something else that stood out requiring a special mention...the restrooms. Its not often my partner is so pleased with the ladies room that I include a picture of the facilities in my review...but as you can see its very nice and very clean. Props for the complimentary toiletries available should you run out of something while out for the night. Beach Street is beginning to become a destination again. Here's to hoping in the future we find better seating and a bigger wine selection at this recent addition to the neighborhood. read more

Madeline's Thursday Jazz Night Brought a group of friends out for a night of jazz, food, and drinks. Our experience was memorable and everyone had something to say so let's summarize: The Food: 1st dish: Mediterranean Dip *Inspired dish, amazingly composed and meticulously crafted. An absolutely mind-blowing experience on the palette. Crowd favourite amongst my group of folks. A beautiful combination of savory flavours. -D 2nd dish: Beast Burger Sliders *Hearty, delicious, literally melts in your mouth. Savory and filling. Can tell the chef cares about making only the best. -C 3rd dish: Ahi Tuna Poke Stack *Mesmerizing combination of Asian-inspired flavours. Perfectly portioned and extremely tasty, this dish had just the right amount of spice, a must-try! -V Cocktails/ Wine: Whole Cluster - Willa. Valley Pinot Noir - *Elegant yet approachable, this wine strikes a balance between fruit-driven vibrancy and earthy complexity. -S *The best wine literally went to ABC and bought 3 bottles of it bc it is so good slay! -R French 75 - *Accented with notes of lavender, this cocktail expertly balances between botanicals and citrus to create a refreshing, yet uniquely stark flavor profile. -V Negroni - *Perfectly balanced cocktail with strong notes of citrus. Distinct and sweet Campari flavor accentuated by the botanicals of the gin. Crafted beautifully, sipped slowly, and enjoyed wholeheartedly. -D HUGE S/O to Chef Damon and Chef David as well as our outstanding bartender, Megan! Our group had an amazing night filled with the sounds of sax, bass, and drums accentuated by the amazing service and delicious food/drinks. Thank you Madeline's for a fantastic Thursday! read more

Looking for a place away from the beach zone and found this place. Nice space with good though not great wine list as dominated by major brands can find at most wine stores like rhaeburn Chardonnay and j vineyards Pinot noir. Food menu looked good. Salmon bites were a little heavy on bread and cream cheese. Recommend using smaller toasts like from a French baguette. Service was great as quickly cleaned off area we moved to when not happy with bar. read more

Such a cute place with a fun atmosphere and a variety of wine. The staff was helpful and you could tell they enjoyed working there and interacting with everyone. read more

It's a wine bar, not a sports bar. The place is so loud you can't hear the person sitting next to you.

I love the Cuban sandwich!!! it's the best I've ever tasted. The pork and pickles are so delicious and are clearly homemade.

Madeline's is my favorite hangout in town. The atmosphere here is classy and elegant and the decor makes for fantastic pictures. My servers name was Lexi, and she was amazing! She is very attentive to customers and my glass never went dry. I have been to Madeline's probably 10 times over the last year and I have never had a bad experience. The food is some of the best in town. The ribeye and the sliders are my favorite. The charcuterie boards exceeded my expectations, and even included different jams and honeys. It's the little things. A bottle of wine is around $25, which in my opinion is very affordable especially in an up-scale place. I highly recommend Madeline's to anyone visiting Daytona. read more

I like a nice wine bar & was excited about this opening. We went there and first sat at the bar but it's a weird bar with no place for your legs! So we went to a couch, much better! The decor is nice but not the style of the bar! Staff was polite but didn't care for the wine selection or the cost of a charcuterie board. Been there 3 times and just can't be comfortable at this bar. read more

Amazing service!!! Beautiful place and quality is just outstanding!!! I love the people here!!

A nice find in Daytona Beach. My first time here. If you enjoy wine, this place has a wonderful selection that is hard to find in the area (outside the Total Wine store). Plus the staff are very friendly and attentive. They have a great Ladies' Day on Wednesday with preselected $5 glasses of wine. The only downfall, was the music. It was so loud. Soothing music, but loud. There's no way to enjoy conversations on ladies' night with your girlfriends when you're hollering and straining to hear. Alignment with most upscale wine places which allow the music to be in the background rather than the forefront would be a nice fix. I'll be back when there is no or soft music. read more

Really like the place and look forward to returning but I will admit that I'm going out of my way to write a 5-star review mostly to counteract that uppity 3-star review about the way a server was dressed lmao. That server sounds cool as hell, glad she was enjoying herself. Hope the Yelp lady finds another hobby. read more

I really like this place. A great mix of fancy and quirky. The recommended wine was delicious as was the food. The bar itself is some amazing translucent rock. I was a little hesitant to go because it looked like a hang out for the "beautiful people" which I am not. And everyone there is but they were super nice and welcoming. I'll definately be back soon. Fun night. read more

Love the atmosphere and the staff! The wine list has something for all my clients and the food and the prices are incredible!

I'm so happy I chose to have my private event here ! I had my baby shower on a Sunday and was able to reserve the entire space. I did a large charcuterie board, bruschetta , spinach dip, salad , mimosa bar & sangria bar. The owner Meghan was very accommodating and her events manager Haley was great to work with. Everything went perfect I couldn't of asked for better ambience, service, and food. Highly recommend having events here. read more

If you are interested in wine and enjoy tasting different grapes from various regions, this is NOT the place for you. On the other hand, if you want another bar to go to downtown that serves food with a subpar wine list, then this might be your place. I so looked forward to Madeline's finally opening because I am a wine enthusiast, but my experience was so disappointing. The wine list is bad (as others have noted) and the staff showed zero knowledge or interest in wine. If you need proof, look at their social media. Tons of pics of cheese and charcuterie boards and other food items but hardly anything about wine! And the "bar"? Who thought that design was a good idea? There's no place for your legs so you have to sit away from the bar and sideways. It makes for an uncomfortable experience compounded by bad wine. read more

I can't imagine this place remaining open for too much longer. The wine list is pathetic, the food offerings meager and the worst part is the decor. I guess all the proprietor had was $20 to spend to find junk at a yard sale or flea market. One can't sit at the bar without hitting one's knees on it. read more

Horrible experience. Went there a couple of weeks ago for drinks and snacks, and will never waste money on this place again. First of all, the service is horrendous: clueless, indifferent waiters at the bar who had no interest in interacting with customers. Two people working that night (and some guy hanging out behind the bar) and not once did anyone ask how we liked the wine or the food or if we wanted anything else. In fact they seemed reluctant to make eye contact for fear of interacting with customers. It wasn't even crowded that night---the service was just rude and shoddy. Furthermore, these two had zero knowledge about wine or any interest. Very strange service and a most unwelcoming atmosphere. We sat at the bar, which was pretty but had no room for legs or feet. We had to sit at the bar sideways because it was so uncomfortable. The wine offerings are horrid. Tried a glass of champagne (William Wycliffe)and a glass of one the white wines (conundrum) offered by the glass and both were absolute swill. The wine was so bad I googled it and realized the champagne sold for $5-7.00 a bottle while Madeline's sold it for $13 A GlASS! I understand restaurant mark ups on wine but this mark-up is unconscionable given the "quality" of the product. I really wonder why Madeline's calls itself a wine bar given the substandard product and the lack of interest in wine by the staff. We also sampled the deviled eggs and the salmon toast points. The eggs were fine and I appreciated how the cooks were trying to create something interesting to go with the wines but the food needs work. The salmon toast "points" were like eating a loaf of bread -- a crostini or a smaller bread product would work better than huge slices of bread. The salmon was absolutely flavorless. I was looking forward to the opening of Madeline's but I can't recommend this place to anyone. Save your money as there are plenty of other places in the area to get a good glass of wine, and snacks with much friendlier service. read more
