First time at this wonderful restaurant. Service was impeccable, food was delicious and the ambiance is so surprising for a restaurant in Florida. I felt like I was at a ski cabin in Vermont. So cozy yet elegant with a giant stone fireplace. We will definitely be back again.
Michelin Star Worthy! Chucherias *never* disappoints. We have celebrated as many anniversaries and birthdays here ad possible over the years. Chef is the *best* we have ever experienced, and the service is outstanding. Thank you, Rui, for making every visit a dinner experience!
First time there and wont be our last. This place is hidden gems and serves incredibly good food with great service and an ambience to match. Enticing menu and solid wine and spirits list. Our bartender and waitress were wonderful and we got to meet the owner/chef topping off an incredible eating experience.
Over an hour from when we ordered to get our entrees and they didn't even come at the same time ... (they should call this the waiting restaurant) $143 meal and the chicken breast came lukewarm and chewy. As someone who has eaten internationally all over the world (including Spain a month ago), and I worked several years as a waitress in fine dining, the service was absolutely terrible. I even politely complained to the waitress about the wait for the food and she said sorry and didn't offer anything like an app or dessert which I thought was crazy. Real fine dining they would let you know ahead of time the kitchen is extremely slow/behind (mind you half the restaurant was empty...) the octupus appetizer I did enjoy but that took 25-30 minutes to come out, had to ask twice to even get bread (which wasn't that good), and my lobster machuca I liked that the lobster was out of the tail but the flavor was subpar. Black beans were good on my fiancés plate but chicken was not. Atmosphere wise it was interesting that I was the only Latina visible (like no other Hispanic people eating or working in the front here...?) and when we first got there, there were several empty tables and the other waitress took a while to seat us even with a reservation, so the whole experience was very unpleasant especially for the $143 price point for 2 entrees and an app. I've lived here over 2 years and this was the worst fine dining experience I've had. We went for our 35th wedding anniversary. When we checked Open Tables they only had 4:30 & 5:00 pm available but when I called at exactly 4:30 the young Lady gave us a 7:00pm seating. Which was fine. We did not want to eat late. When we got there they had our table ready. Very nice Ambiance & the tables weren't close to each others. We started off with Vellamo Sparkling water since we don't drink. We started with the Pulpo which was tender & had pieces of potatoes. (I thought it was a small portion). The corn pupusa with slaw & marinated cabbage was delicious and enough for 2 people. We shared the Conch soup which was made with coconut cream. It was delicious. The chunks of Conch were not too chewy. For dessert we had the Americano Coffee & Sticky Toffee rice pudding with Rum RAISIN ICE CREAM & Sliced Strawberries. For our anniversary present the they gave us Two Divine Cookies with raspberry filling. Since we don't drink Champagne. The waitress was on top of it refilling our Sparkling Waters right away & taking away our dirty dishes. She bought over another Bottle of Vellamo. We were able to take it home with us so as not to waste it. It was a Beautiful Night with my honey.

It's comfort and indulgence in every bite. We started with ham croquettes and patatas bravas, and both were spot-on. The croquettes were crisp on the outside, creamy and savory inside--like a bite-sized love letter to traditional Spanish flavors. The patatas bravas had just the right kick, with a smoky, tangy sauce that made them impossible to share politely. For mains, the Shrimp Machuca was a revelation--plump, perfectly cooked shrimp swimming in a rich, velvety sauce that had depth, warmth, and just the right touch of heat. And the Prime Tenderloin filet? Impeccably seared, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and paired with sides that complemented without competing. Service was warm and attentive, and the ambiance struck that rare balance between cozy and elevated. Every dish felt crafted with care, and the pacing of the meal let us savor without ever feeling rushed. We visited again on Thanksgiving-eve. This time we had a party of 5. I was very grateful that the restaurant was able to accommodate a last minute addition from 4 to 5! We changed our salad this time and tried the Caesar, split in the kitchen. Tasty! Fresh anchovies were offered and accepted. We had 3 lobsters with variations of sauce on the side, sauce without cilantro and regular. All the lobster was great. It was tender and succulent with that nice flavorful sauce. The potatoes underneath were so creamy and yet still had some pieces to bite. I was the only one with leftovers, and even leftover the dish kept its separate elements and tastes. BTW, they use real plastic containers, so I didn't lose all my sauce to some recycled paper absorbent container. We also had 2 of the pork. Both plates were cleaned. I sampled my husband's again and it was as perfectly delicious as last time.
The bottom line is that Chucherias is more than just a regular old, run of the mill restaurant. It is a local gem and a dining experience that is not to be missed! I made a reservation in advance, which is highly recommended. The dining room is cozy and intimate, yet elegant with its tables dressed in white white tablecloths. Somehow, the ambiance is elevated, yet not over-the-top with formality...a very nice balance, with a rustic hint. Customer service was excellent. The server was friendly, thoughtful by anticipating our needs before we asked, and knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients. A super dining experience! Now...the extra-special part...the cuisine! The food seems to be a lovely fusion of Latin and Caribbean tastes. I thoroughly enjoyed my slow roasted pork and the house salad. Others in my party enjoyed their meals to the fullest and were full of accolades. This is definitely a restaurant that has a standard of quality and fresh, authentic food. And it's definitely the perfect location for an intimate, special celebration, like a date night, anniversary, or birthday.

Beautiful atmosphere, Chaz was a wonderful server with great information and good advice. The drink menu is great and the bartender was perfect. I will be getting shrimp and yucca mash and will be looking forward to the new taste experience. I understand the chef is a woman and the owner. Who does everything with a smile because she loves what she does.Dessert! OMG yummy! It's a little difficult to spot as the sign is confusing. Look for the beautiful stone structure and go all around till you see it.
In my opinion best fine dining meal I have ever had. Some of my best friends took me because it's their favorite place (locals) and they don't eat out many places EVER because he is a phenomenal chef himself. Cannot wait to go back!!
A HIDDEN GEM FOR SURE ! Looking for an inmate time or just anything CHUCHERIAS IS IT ! TOP 5 PLACES TO EAT IN DAYTONA! Came here to celebrate a good friends birthday and first thing i said was HOW DID YOU FIND THIS PLACE! Fancy LATIN FUSION ! Everything is made to order and it taste amazing! The waiter was helpful on explaining anything to us. They have an outdoor & indoor seating area. The indoor is small white table Cloth environment, the door is huge and spacious with a waterfall. Everything we ordered was MOUTHWATERING! I love Octopus and order it anytime I can and this was one of the best I've had in the AREA! My friend for the mussels dish and said it was FIRE. Literally FIVE STARS because everything was on point, service, food, neatness, timing, location, atmosphere, & more .
Visiting from out of town we found Chucherias on Yelp and decided to stop by and glad we did. The entrance is in the courtyard of the building and it is quite beautiful as you walk up to the restaurant. Signage is a little hard to see. We ordered the Beef Turnovers and Cod and Potato Croquettes. Both were good, solid appetizers. They also bring out two sauces with bread. The green one is cilantro based and was my favorite. I neglected to take pictures of these as my intent was just to enjoy the dining experience. I ordered Chucherias Hondurenas. This dish is amazing! The tenderloin was so cooked to perfection. Up until this dish I had never walked away from a restaurant blown away by a beef dish, but this was the one. It was melt in your mouth tender. Simply seasoned to where the meat, au jus, and caramelized onions gave it all the flavor needed! My wife ordered the Roast pork, which was also amazing. I'll let her write her review on that though, but you CANNOT go wrong with either dish. My sincerest compliments to the chef. Amazing entree's. The service was top notch also. Attentive without being intrusive. Our waitress clearly explained everything to us, and answered all of our questions. Needless to say if you've read this far, you know that I highly recommend this place. It's ideal for a date night, the meal wasn't cheap, but you owe it to yourself to enjoy a great meal here. Local or visiting Chucherias should be on your list.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in the area. It's beautifully decorated, clean & relaxing & everything we ordered was fresh, well presented & delicious. The service was amazing too! We went here for a small team dinner, as it was recommended. However, I would say this is a great milestone restaurant as well with the one you love!Be ready for a fire to be burning on a chilly FL evening in the fireplace surrounded in coquina rocks - so beautiful! Our server was attentive and sweet. The Caesar salad was fresh, crispy and cold! Happy the anchovie was served on the side of the plate , as I am not a fan. Those that had the steak said it was so tender and absolutely delicious! Our vegetarian dish seemed to not disappoint either. The grouper dish was good. A little disappointed with the dryness (overcooked) on the edges. The rice was Phenomenal!! The black beans served in the edible bowl were flavored perfectly. The Flan was a real OMG moment! I'm really trying to gather the words. Reservations are required. Excellent recommendations from our waiter. The food, the food. I never get steak- I got the steak y'all (I'm usually a seafood or veggie orderer). Chef Mayra "put her foot in it"! Thinking about it makes me want to weep. I ordered the Thin Steak, my husband got something that wasn't on the menu that our waiter mentioned, salmon in curry sauce. A pitcher (beautiful) of sparkling Sangria. For dessert we got the sticky Toffee cake 5/5 and Chilenitas. Beautiful ambience, such a special, relaxing, beautiful oasis. read more

1,000 seriously! This is a hidden gem! My husband made reservations for our anniversary and wow what a special evening it was! Since everything on the menu sounded spectacular we could not decide on which entrée to order so my husband asked our server if the chef could possibly do a sample platter to include seafood, steak and chicken. This is what she did for our special night: *Thin Steak / Bistec Delgado *Rice with Chicken / Arroz con Pollo *Mahi with yellow curry sauce *Shrimp Machuca / Camarones y Machuca Oh wait! To start with we had the house white sangria and Spanish margarita! They brought out fresh hot Cuban bread with a to die for guava and brown sugar butter spread and two house sauces... habanero and cilantro that were wonderful too! Now back to our regular scheduled program...all the entries were out of this world! If we had to pick we would say the thin steak and arroz con pollo but again ALL we're outstanding! We HAD to order dessert so we went with the sticky toffee pudding which was heaven and the chef sent out a sample of the Chilenitas...yum!!! This is by far the best restaurant we have been to in a very long time. Shout out to Gregorio our server who was very knowledgeable and delivered top notch service! This is my first trip to Daytona Beach and this place is a must try. I have been here twice over two day because they are that good... and the wife agrees so I got the second vote of approval. Front of the house are efficient, friendly and know the menu and explain and describe the dishes well. Service was part of the reason for the second trip... but the food was amazing. First night I finally got to try Conch Soup / Sopa de Caracol... and it was everything I was hoping. Delicious and tender sweet Conch meat... coconut milk broth... my wife had Catracho (The Honduran) and the tender beef with the rice and beans... wow made me thing steak should always come with rice and beans... Second night I had a special, a fried Red Snapper and the flavors took me back to my grandma frying fish... it was so good my wife who doesn't eat fish got envy over my dish. She had Rice with Chicken / Arroz con Pollo and it was a savory goodness and a huge portion as well... Desserts were amazing as well, Tres Leche Cake was so good, and then the second night we had cookies... they were too good to describe... highly recommend. Plus the restaurant is so cute and they do a great job of not overcrowding. It looks like a Spanish lodge some where with a warm and inviting ambiance that helps you relax. read more

This place is a hidden gem, I went there for my moms birthday this is the place she wanted to go to so we did and we had such a good time. They even brought her a mini bday dessert which was really nice. It was a bit of a hassle to get reservations and they don't allow parties bigger then 6 we had to tell them we where flying in from out of town. The menu was good too small but good I also think the chef should have some help . It's a women who's been cooking for a while, she did a fantastic job just they should have some one helping her. The food was great but if she had a little help I think it would be excellent! Service was great as well . Great place read more

This place is absolutely incredible. I was by myself on a work trip looking for places close by to where I was staying to eat. I happened to go to the brewery a few days before and saw the signs for this place. It had a dress code posted on their website and I decided to call beforehand to confirm what was appropriate to wear and stated that I was by myself and just wanted to sit at the bar. The person I spoke with told me that I should arrive after a certain time because they had reservations to accommodate for. The venue is a small, intimate establishment with amazing energy. I was welcomed upon arrival and said that they did have a small staff. Every employee was extremely friendly. The service was extremely professional. As my food arrived, the food was at the same caliber as the service. Everything was beyond perfect. The employee (assuming it was a manager) that attended to me provided answers to all my questions and explained that the kitchen was run by the chef and one assistant. They worked table by table. While I was in no rush, each part of my meal came out in a timely manner and was absolutely delicious. As I was sitting, they greeted each guest with open arms, hugging regulars and exceeding standards. Other servers made sure to check in on me to make sure I was doing alright. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone coming to the area. I enjoyed every aspect as well as seeing how they interacted with each of their guests. Reservations are definitely necessary and I appreciated that they were able to accommodate a solo party like myself. If I am ever back in the area, I will definitely be coming back! read more

We decided to call for reservations and it's small place so be sure to do so. Loved every thing about this place! We wanted to experience the tastes of the chef from Honduras and since I had traveled there before I was looking forward to the tastings! Not disappointed! Left with goody bags because we couldn't finish but had to have the dessert! read more

We read all the reviews and asked the locals and everyone said the same.. the food is amazing, the service is outstanding!!
