This place never disappoints. The food is absolutely amazing and you constantly leave this place with a full belly and let's not forget about the service. Everyone just seems so happy here so you can tell that it really enjoy their jobs which makes a huge difference. We started off with the coconut shrimp and had like this coconut mayo dipping sauce was different, but it was really good, but I felt like it needed like a sweet-and-sour sauce then I had the mahi tacos with just the rice no black beans definitely still as good as the last time I tried it my boyfriend got the buffalo chicken pizza gluten-free and he ate the entire thing so that just tells you right off the bat that it was good and to finish off our dinners we ended with Keylime pie. It wasn't the best it was OK. I don't think I would have it again, though the ambience, excellent this place is adorable. It's like a diamond in the rough. Having been to the grind over the years, we have certain expectations as to the quality of food and service. I want to preface this by saying we went on a very cold day and ate indoors..the pizza was outstanding and the waiter was friendly and engaging..in other words, typical for our experiences there. Prior to this, we even brought friends who hadn't been there before and loved it...now, to our recent experience: We were seated and the waitress seemed as though she wasn't very familiar with the menu and had to check on our requests, each check took a disturbingly long time. When we brought our friends, my gal ordered a hamburger and I asked the waitress if she could have the wagyu, rather than the angus burger, she readily said yes and my gal marveled over the burger...fast forward to the last experience, the waitress said she'd have to order the wagyu as posted and it "wasn't available" as a stand alone order. So my gal settled for the angus burger and again, the wait was a bit long and as we were considering to leave, the waitress showed up, gave us our food and left. the onion rings were cold...literally...they had been out so long that they weren't even warm (our prior experiences the onion rings arrived hot and delicious). Again we waited for our waitress to return and my gal had to ask another waitress if she could get us some hot onion rings. That waitress noted the cold onion rings and brought them back to the kitchen to prove we weren't being unreasonable, which was a greatly appreciated gesture on her part. Very promptly, the "other" waitress brought our onion rings, apologizing profusely...we thanked her and when my gal started into her Caesar salad, it was inedible....soggy, nearly tasteless and resembling a hot spinach salad with soggy lettuce than a crisp Caesar salad....the upside, the second batch of onion rings were up to their usual excellent standard, the burger was good, but not the intensity of flavor their wagyu burger had. If we hadn't been semi-regulars, it is a near certainty we wouldn't go back, but we aren't going to let a single experience unravel years of good experiences. read more

I went here for a group dinner and did not know they had live music. It's not ideal for having conversations, but great for just chilling, eating, and listening to music. I got the chicken pasta, and it was delicious. There's pesto, which is my favorite with chicken. The whole entree was affordable. Our server was nice, but he forgot to bring me a to-go box that I had asked for, so I had to go up to the bartender to get one instead. She took care of it right away. read more

I modified a wrap to make it vegetarian, and the owner came out to assure me that he wouldn't charge me full price, as I wasn't eating the fish or the bacon that normally comes with the meal. This is a pretty cool restaurant/tiki bar to visit! We sat on the patio near the live music. It was a very cool atmosphere. Guitarist was playing good music that fit the vibe of the patio. The only dilemma was the large amount of flies which got a little annoying. Drinks were good, they have specials every day on certain drinks or liquors. I got the hurricane and it tasted strong and refreshing! Server was kind and very attentive! For the food, everything is named after famous songs. We ordered the Running Down a Dream (portobello fries) which was a very unique and shareable appetizer. The Starway to Heaven is a supreme pizza which was pretty standard as far as flatbread pizzas are concerned. The Can't Stop Loving You is a Mahi BLT which I chose to get as a wrap (alternate option is sandwich bread) and it was good but a little heavy on the sauce. This is the place to be when in Ormond Beach. Daily after 5 or anytime during the weekend there is a great vibe. The Kona brewery situated behind, with its own entrance has the cool vibe of an outodoorsy place. Live music makes it special. There is room for improvement for the food, though. The Burgers here want to be fancy - at least by the name - but they did not impress me (they seem made in a rush...). I would rate their burger s) a 7 / 10. Not great. The first time we were here, we had a very enjoyable experience. Tonight we ordered pizza, which was apparently baked on the card board it was frozen on and burnt on one side. I asked for salt. I grabbed the grinder, flipped it over and it was full of liquid. It ruined my spinach dip! The server apologized and brought another salt grinder. I asked her to take my appetizer plate since it now had some kind of liquid mixed with the dip. I assumed it was water, but from where? Gross. My husband and I wanted to try out Grind Gastropub. They have great outdoor seating, a beautiful atmosphere to look at! Our server Hannah took our drink order which was margaritas. When she returned we placed our dinner orders, my husband ordered the bison burger with fries. I ordered the fish and chips but substituted onion rings instead of the chips. My fish and onion rings were delicious. The fish was very crispy and moist. My husband said his bison burger was ok, the burger itself didn't have much seasoning and no sear on it but he loved the fries. The margaritas were on point too. Grind is the go-to place to hang out in Ormond Beach. You can opt for the smaller front part of the restaurant and grab one of their outstanding pizzas and a beer. Or you can go to the tiki bar out back which is wide open with live music and the best outdoor bar in town. Did I mention the pizza? Yes but I'll go on. It is light and flaky with an outstanding crunch. I can hear Dave portnoy complimenting the undercarriage! First, the long black grease streak leading from the kitchen area throughout the serving area is NEVER a good look in an eating establishment, management open your eyes! Second, the pancake station had a stack of pre- made pancakes in the steam tray that were old and cold and the cook was just standing there with nothing to do. The reason for a pancake station is so you get fresh hot food. Third, at the omelet station, I was obviously the first one there. I don't think he is a pro, he mixed my omelet and put it in the fring pan, and it pained me to tell him after a couple of minutes, " I think you may need to light the burner"! We had our company Christmas party in the private room this year. I am new to the area so I had trouble finding the party. I asked for help at the hostess stand and was cheerfully show. To the private room. I was impressed! The restaurant was busy and so was the tiki bar, but this private room was well insulated and we were able to hold conversations and have fun without the distraction of everything else. The food was kept in warmers and was delicious. I enjoyed shrimp cocktail that was boiled in seasoned broth so it didn't need cocktail sauce, but it was there if you wanted it! I also enjoyed the chicken skewers and the beef kabobs. They had this interesting Vietnamese meatball dumpling which was very unique. The pasta dish was pretty standard, as well as the charcuterie board and fruit platter. There was a garden salad that looked amazing but I had salad for lunch, so I skipped it. We had one bar tender who did a great job. I appreciated their various offerings, and had a couple bourbons on the rocks; others enjoyed beer, wine and fancy cocktails. My only qualm is that there is one bathroom for men and another one for women, but each of them serve only one person! It's crazy to think this huge, busy place would not have more? Maybe there are some outside at the tiki bar. Parking is terrible. You can utilize the valet out back or try for a street spot out front or across the street. After leaving a tournament at Pictona in Holly Hills our party of 6 were pretty hungry. We stopped in at Grind based on their Yelp reviews & their website. I would not call this a Gastro pub. It's a bar with some decent food. On entering we saw a sign that said seat yourself. There is a large bar which had several what looked like to be locals sitting around and some TV screens visible from the bar. The wall is lined with a big red booth however there are only 3/4 tables. We put two tables together since they were able to only accommodate four. It took a while for someone to come over after we received our menus. I noticed it was the bar maid. Apparently, she waits the tables AND the bar. We ordered a round of drinks to start. There were some interesting items on the menu with some kitch names. A friend & I decided to order the Thai pizza to share. It came out on a wooden pizza paddle & looked promising however it was not good. I can only describe it as a round flat bread with what they said was Gouda cheese ( didn't taste like it) chicken ( couldn't see it) peanut butter on the bottom & some veggie. Just not a good combo of flavors. We both agreed we didn't care for it and left several slices over. Everything else our group ordered was good from meatloaf to a brisket sandwich to onion rings. The burger that came out was quite large and got two thumbs up. Street parking can be hazardous as we found out leaving the restaurant. Someone had hit our mirror and completely knocked off our mirror so do yourself a favor if you go here & park around back off of the street. read more

I go there to do Karaoke with the areas best KJ Harryoke "aka Harry Smith". I follow him for the best Karaoke crowds and Singers. The food at the "Grind" is priced reasonably and the food taste great. I have had a Lamb Pizza the last couple times I've been there and it is awesome. it is cooked in a brick oven the pizza is made with Sundried tomatoes, goat cheese and Mozzarella and caramelized red onions, ground Lamb and balsamic glaze and spinach. it is delicious! Love coming here for brunch because of the bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's! They have a build-your-own Bloody Mary bar where you can add a bunch of cool toppings. The service is always very good and the waiters are fast on refilling the mimosas. The food is a breakfast buffet which is just so-so, I just like coming here for the drinks! read more

He kept our table filled with drinks and food. Great personality and remembered us from our last visit in September. Drinks are creative, beer is cold, wine list is varied. We ordered spinach/artichoke dip. Great flavor, and hot, crispy chips. Their app has a great selection. We ordered two pizzas - a Hawaiian (Called The Duke) and a Supreme with lots of meats and veggies. Pizza was delicious (-although, could use extra sauce). Crust was thin and crispy. Remainder of the menu offers a wide variety of sandwiches and sides. Monday is Karaoke night (6:30) with Harry Smith. Great crowd, good singers. I like this place come here often but when I noticed my bill had two options,first on was Total $99.54 second option was pay with cash $95.74 when I told the waitress I was paying by Debit card which is the same as cash she refused to discuss it with me ,when I told her it's against the law to charge a debit card she just blew me off. They have a really great menu and I was very excited about trying them out. We happened to go on a Sunday and they only serve a buffet, nothing from the menu. We were very disappointed, to say the least, because we really wanted items from the menu, but that's on us so we tried buffet and it wasn't great. Only dined in the Kona tiki patio, so can't say what the experience is in Grind. Service, happy hour, atmosphere of the Kona full on 5 star. Assuming the food is same for both sides, I'd give it 4 stars. I think the menu may have been new, so they may be tweaking it to improve it. In general, the food was good & tasty, but in each case, it could have been better. Tuna cuts themselves were nice, but bland, it needed a wasabi sauce or sesame sauce. The Greek flatbread was inspired but the sundried tomatoes were 3x the lamb meat (so little meat I forgot it was supposed to have lamb, and the honey glaze sounded inspiring but just made it have a weird sweetness. Happy hour is terrific. And they make a good dirty martini. read more

The vibe was really cool -- a DJ was spinning inside, and a live band, Chillakaya, was playing outside, so we got to enjoy the best of both worlds. We had just arrived in town to visit my Mom. She had us meet at this spot next to Rose Villa where we could enjoy some dinner. We did enjoy our time at Grind with its lovely outdoor Tiki hut outside. When we arrived, happy hour was happening, so we enjoyed Moscow Mules that were $5 a pop that were refreshing a good. The portobello fries were delicious with the Gorgonzola bacon fondue dip while the ahi nachos were very satisfying. My mom and I split a Lamburger with goat cheese and alfalfa sprouts and a wagu beef burger with boursin cheese, caramelized onions, portobello mushrooms, and truffle slaw. The burgers were incredible tasty while the fries and sweet potato fries were perfection. Our server and the other wait staff were incredible friendly and attentive, making sure we had what we need. Whether it were needing more drinks, napkins, or more condiments, they had us covered. One of the outstanding highlights of Ormand Beach, Grind will give you your money's worth for a good meal and good vibes. read more
