Half off all drinks except for henny on thursdays! Can't go wrong. The bartender was amazing! She was very nice and helped us find great places to eat. It seems like more of a college hangout on the weekends. But they do offer salsa nights on Saturday's. If you're looking for a hangout spot with the locals and not too crazy on Thursday go there. We're hoping to go out for Latin dancing for my birthday we got here and it looked like an m&m reunion everybody was dressed down the music was in salsa it wasn't Bachata and it wasn't Cumbia. This was a cute little upscale-ish nightclub spot that reminds me of Mark's in Jacksonville. My experience was much nicer than my friend who got hit on by some dude that thought he was gangster and was hoping she was too. Oh joy...Lol. It didn't help when we went upstairs and another dude was talking her ear off so much she couldn't dance to the music no more. But hey at least both dudes were respectful and friendly. 509 is a great combination of bar and nigh club environment for college students. The outdoor bar and lounge area is a great space for dancing and to just sit and converse by the fire. They provide great deals for spring breakers and other events in the Daytona area. The only kicker is you have to find the right bartender. Some of the bartenders were incredibly friendly and fast. They worked well and earned their tips. Others absolutely refused to serve people if they did not offer to tip them what they wanted up front. Still enjoyed by time there and went back for another night. read more

I went for the very first time yesterday with my boyfriend (who is 21). I'm not in Daytona often because I don't attend college there, but he does so he figured he would take me out to have a good time. OF COURSE, all of his friends are there so he went to take a picture with them and told me to hold his drink. I held his drink, FOR A SECOND, didn't even take a SIP. I just watched them take the picture and one of the workers comes and dumps the drink in the garbage because I'm not 21? The staff needs to get their heads out of their ass. If I really wanted to be wasted, I easily could've found another way. They refused to give my boyfriend a refund after I was CLEARLY 100% sober and the worker admitted that he never saw me take a sip. Ridiculous. Won't be returning. read more

Last night I went out with my boyfriend and a few friends. I'm not from the area so they were showing me around town. the bar itself was nice but apparently the bouncers are prejudice against any type of same sex couples. my boyfriend and I were told to "tone it down" while kissing and reading through the comments it looks like this is an ongoing/reaccuring issue. As someone who works in a restaurant I'm honestly disgusted that this type of behaviour is tolerated not only for months on end but at all in general. not only did a fight break out but the multiple heterosexual couples that were making out were never told to "tone it down". This is easily one of my favorite clubs in Daytona Beach. From the door to the bar the entire staff is incredibly helpful, drinks are always really reasonably priced, and the DJs do a great job of keeping the crowd live. The VIP bottle service is on point too! Definitely recommend visiting on the weekend if you're in the area. read more

I just got back from this place. It was recommended by a friend as an alternative to eye-raping-ass-grabbing places that commonly dot the Daytona strip. So here are my observations from a first-time attendee at this lounge. Pros: - Swanky decor (kind of like Los Angeles) - attentive and energetic bartenders. I didnt have to wait more than 2min for service at any of the bars. - free drinks for ladies all night. - lots of space to sit and hang out. - not smokey indoors. - barely any bathroom wait. Cons: - awful DJ on a Saturday night. Switches songs 20 seconds through without noticing who's dancing or not. Switching GENRES midway through a set. Could have been redeemed by sticking to maybe 3 genres during the course of the night slowly easing into them rather than leaving his ipod on shuffle. Not sure what to make of this: - weird promoter(dj?) on Facebook urging people to leave their girlfriends at home?? not sure if he's an official rep so I wont hold it against the club. - GIRL WITH A BLACK EYE. sorry that's a total buzzkill. I saw blond girl with a black eye upstairs, punched out by a dude out on the terrace. They were arguing on the dance floor and no bouncers were present. Conclusion: This is a really nice place to take a bunch of girls out to without worrying about getting groped. I didnt witness any such nonsense here. The place was lighted very well. However, the music was bad. Personally I went there hoping for downtempo or electro. (ie: La roux, daft punk, will i am) which seems to suit the decor. However I got an earful of radio remixes + grunge rock + 90's hip hop.. so I'm docking this place a star until that's resolved. The other bad stuff doesnt seem to be related to the bar so I'm not holding that against the venue but maybe if there were more bouncers upstairs then it wouldn't have turned all Jersey Shore (yea you know what I mean). In sum I really want to love this place and will probably go again in a while and post an update. read more

Honestly this would be a great place IF I wasn't for how rude and inconsiderate they are. We bought a 25 dollar promotional card that says you can get into 509 between the hours of 8 and 10 for free. We all showed up 20 minutes before the cutoff and the bouncers took so long for everyone to go through that they refused to let us in for free, even after we explained how long we had been in line. It had only been FOUR minutes past! It was our last night, we were so upset it completely ruined our night. You would think they would at least include in their advertising that you should show up with a considerable amount of time before hand. It was ridiculous our time was completely wasted. Not to mention this was not a problem last year nor was it a problem at Razzles this year. Horrible service!! read more

Terrible. They charged me more than my friends. All my friends are very female looking and got charged $10 and I got charged $17. I can only assume it was because I present more masculine. Pro: I am a local here in Daytona, I don't go out nightly, I would say weekly with a group of close friends. They play great music, and have different areas playing different things at the same time which is pretty cool. They also have an outside area, which is nice because it doesn't get too hot like you're normal hot and humid club inside. Most nights they have pretty good deals ($10/$15 entry and free drinks until 11) Con: I went during Spring Break because why stop my normal going out time because of Spring Breakers, horrible idea! I was with 2 other friends on the dance floor after maybe having 3 drinks because we arrived at 10:45 (Free drinks stop at 11) A girl who was near me was already irritated because of everyone dancing and decided to pour her whole BUCKET (not cup, BUCKET) of liquor on me. When I turned around I was hit in the face tot he point where I saw white and really didn't get what was going on. When I spoke to my friend apparently her drink bumped into her, and that was her retaliating. I walked over to apologize and kill whatever happened before it became an issue, immediately a short stalky Spanish/Italian looking body guard grabbed me by the arm and told me I needed to leave. He PUSHED me through the crowd, I tried showing him I was soaking wet and even my phone was not turning on because she threw her drink on me and hit me, I also tried clarifying I was apologizing to her because of whatever issue was happening, all he said was "Right." He ripped my bracelet off and said "Do not come back" He took me to the door man, pointed in my face and told him to not let me back in. I'm still kind of in shock because I'm not sure what I did wrong to be kicked out, It was degrading and embarrassing. Beware! read more

Just visited Daytona for the first time this weekend and wanted to have fun. Going to 509 Lounge was the highlight of my trip. Cheaper cover than any of the nearby clubs. Drinks were absolutely incredibly made. Outdoor bar and lounge area were kept up to top shape. Everything was clean and everyone was very nice there. Music was decent. Beer pong table and cornhole are fun. Would 10/10 recommend you check 509 out first before anywhere else for night life!! read more

For Daytona Beach, this is the bar to go to. Don't bother wearing heels, no one else does. My squad and I were in DB for spring break and we went here every night. Nice outside area and inside area. Music is bomb. We paid $15 cover, but our Uber driver also told us it's free when it isn't spring break. Only reason it gets four stars instead of five is because I'm from Miami and nothing compares to Miami lol. read more

There aren't very many options for clubs in Daytona Beach so this one may be the best by default. It's still pretty good. There is an indoor and outdoor dance floor along with VIP upstairs. Ladies drink free until 11. Daytona is kind of a college town so there are a lot of young people here. 509 is good for all ages though and you'll find more diversity here than in nearby Razzles. Bartenders are very efficient so you'll never have to wait too long for a drink. Street parking is available but you can also park in nearby lots for a small fee. read more

I wish I could give negative ratings. Go here at your own risk. Being a college student in Daytona I've been here a lot of times, especially since they specifically hire bartenders/bouncers who can get their friends to come. But I've never found anything impressive about 509. It looks pretty nice, but if you want good drinks or good food then I'd recommend pretty much anywhere else. It's generally the only place in Daytona that charges a cover. I will NEVER go back after a couple weekends ago because the bartender was too busy talking to people to make me a drink, so I had to wait a ridiculous amount of time even after I got her attention and told her what I wanted. The drink turned out to be disgusting and nearly undrinkable. For her horrible service I didn't tip her. When I saw my bank statement a couple weeks later, I discovered a $29 charge from 509! Apparently the bartender added her own tip by editing my receipt. This was in addition to the $10 cover I paid to get in. I've tried to fight the charge but I didn't save my receipt so there's nothing they will do. If you'd like to pay a total of $39 to listen to an average dj and drink something disgusting then go for it. Otherwise, AVOID. read more

Cover charge was $7. Had free drinks until 11:00! Very nice looking club. People of all races, all sizes, all ages. Plenty of space for people to move around without getting trampled by each other. Lots of seating. You could either sit inside or outside on the patio. Had 2 bar areas, which you could easily get the attention of the bartenders. Had one pool table inside. Restroom attendant was SO NICE! Tip her well ladies, she will help you tons through out the night during your bathroom trips. They had a ton of security and they were all wearing shirts that made that clear. Security made sure to remove people who were drinking over their limit (which made me feel incredibly safe). All staff was extremely friendly and easily approachable. read more
