We tried this place for breakfast before heading home to Orlando. They were busy when we got there. The inside is very small. We waited for 15 minutes for a table. I ordered coffee and and corn-beef hash especial, which is basically the hash, two eggs and toast. Hubby ordered soda and waffle breakfast. I asked the waitress for more coffee as it's getting cold. She asked if I want to empty my cup or just add more, so I said just add more. It was odd since I have never been in a restaurant asked that question like that for more coffee. Didn't realized that they charge for refills. Coffee is $3.99 and paid twice that for a cup and half. There was nothing special about the dishes we ordered. The amount of money you paid for what you get doesn't justify what's on the plate. Also, bring cash, they charge extra for using a card. No, we won't be back.
Went on a Saturday morning for breakfast we are considered locals. They have an extremely small parking lot. The whole party has to be there to be seated. Definitely a small restaurant is not good for groups or a lot of people. Our waitress was nice at first, but we let them know. There was issues with the food we ordered, which was the white fish dinner. There was worms So they brought us a new meal which was a cheeseburger and she asked us how we wanted it and we told them medium, but they brought it out well done which was hard and complicated to eat The whole experience shifted when we let them know we were not interested in eating our fish because there was worms in it. The lady became snotty and it made the customer experience change completely. I'm sure they have decent food if you know what to order so eat at your own risk
It was do good!! The service was off the chain. Attentive, caring and engaging service which is often rare. My burger was perfect. Cooked and served with care. The restaurant was cozy and welcoming I enjoyed my visit and would recommend others to visit
Ambiance is your typical diner. Food was okay, honestly not the greatest quality but okay. Prices were a bit pricey too, I ordered two kids meals priced at $8.23 an order of french toast, a coffee and a side of home fries and my total was $40 a bit much for me. No real butter only margarine which I do not ear. I didn't want to be that customer asking for things so I ate my french toast without it. Service was good a bit obsolete but it was friendly. My wife and I were visiting the Ormond Bch area for the week. We decided to take our Ebikes for a ride around on the beach and on A1A and ended up at Starlite Diner for lunch. I ordered the Cuban Sandwich with Fries. I loved my sandwich! It tasted great! All the flavors blended so well together. The bread very good and grilled just right. The sandwich was big enough I actually only ate half. I ate the other half the next day lol and it was still great! The fries tasted great as well and were cooked just right! I give the sandwich and fries 5 stars for sure! My wife ordered the Patty Melt with Fries. She said she wished it had more than one sliced grilled onion. She also asked for a side of thousand island since it came out plain. It was just ok. We both loved how the diner was decorated. Everything was clean. Our waitress was super friendly. We definitely recommend Starlite Diner!
Great food, fun, music and many momentous on the walls. The servers are fast and friendly, we didn't feel rushed though. They also made great suggestions on sides and desserts and checked back to bring water, utensils, more sauces or drinks. Food: we kept coming back: we tried something different each time- incredible variety. Our favorites: Chocolate Brownie Sundae was indescribably delicious. The hot fudge was warm, 2 brownies were fresh, alamode- vanilla ice cream, and topped with whipped cream and cherries- see the picture- but it doesn't do this dessert justice! Spaghetti with Great sauce and meatballs Meatball sandwich- perfect spicy tomato sauce and meatballs were filling, I shared with my hubby. +Country fries. Moms meatloaf +mashed potatoes and green beans. My husband had this and smiled while he ate it tonight! Stirfry - Tuesday special, I chose chicken as the meat + rice. Really good, spicy, gingery and lots of veggies, fluffy rice with scallions. There are Early Bird specials 3-6pm Check out the Daily specials for dinner. While you are eating, the pictures, sayings and memorabilia will have you laughing!! TY for great meals, we'll be back!
Legit diner! Service was outstanding....Great poached eggs and grits- bacon cooked well to perfection- amazing strawberry French toast- very clean ladies room decorated with cast of Seinfeld portrait and nostalgic Life magazine covers
This diner was pleasantly surprising- we came twice while vacationing! Loved the Rueben sandwich and chicken tenders. We also got the patty melt and biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage. Staff was super friendly and service was quick. They even brought out bacon for our fur baby. Would definitely come back and try other items. Our waitress Michelle was great- even said that almost 90% of the food was homemade.

The Diner art,photos, booths- all is relaxing and comfortable. Nightly specials and early bird prices 2-6pm $9.99. The Key Lime Pie is so good--- many other desserts too. I'm coming back.
The shrimp and grits is amazing, like I am not sure I can order it from anywhere else now. You can get anything on the menu anytime of day, which I always love. We sat quickly (but they will not seat you if you don't have your whole party) and were promptly greeted. It's cute and homey and I would go back for sure.
Of course this isn't 5-star cuisine, but damn it, this joint is getting 5-stars anyway. There is something so universally appealing about non-nonsense comfort food, where you can walk right up and sit on a stool in a diner and order either breakfast all day or an uncomplicated sandwich that hits the spot every time. Since getting a vacation home walking distance of this nostalgic diner, I've been visiting regularly and from the service to the food, they don't do a single thing wrong.
Came here after leaving my hotel in Florida. Has breakfast with my sister. She had the Philly cheese steak omlette. I had a breakfast platter. The food and service were great. The ambiance was regular. I'd def go back. The food was great and there was a friendly vibe in the diner.
From the food (large portions) to the ambiance (as well as great service we recommend!) Came from breakfast and we were not disappointed!

2 Stars I hate giving anyone a two-star review, especially for breakfast--my favorite meal of the day--but unfortunately, this one just missed the mark for us. The biggest issue was the quality of the food. If you're going to charge around $15 for a breakfast, put a good-quality sausage patty on the grill. It doesn't take much to make a flavorful sausage gravy from scratch either, but this gravy tasted like it came straight from a bag or can and had almost no flavor. The biscuits themselves were actually pretty good, but pouring margarine over the top completely changed the taste. The sausage patties weren't very good and seemed like they'd been left on the grill too long. The fried potatoes were decent, and so was the sourdough toast. The staff was nice and working hard--they were extremely busy. There were a lot of people in line, so clearly plenty of people enjoy the breakfast here, and the place itself has an interesting atmosphere. The price didn't help. $4 for a Sprite is overkill. We had one breakfast with an egg, sausage, toast and home fries, one waffle, half an order of biscuits and gravy, and drinks, and the bill was over $40. At that price point, I simply expect better-quality breakfast ingredients. This is just our experience and opinion. The staff was friendly, and considering how busy they were, I give them credit for that. Maybe we'll give it another shot next year, but this time around, the quality just didn't match the price. read more

Very family friendly. The food was good-- we just both had burgers. Basic sides. Good prices. Lots of options of food but the only meats they have are beef, pork and chicken. Not many grilled food options. Coke products. Our waitress brought our food fast. Wasn't very attentive to us after we got our check. The restaurant can use a thorough cleaning. Trash on the floor from who knows when, under the tables. Ladies bathroom is def a storage closet. Needs a deep cleaning tbh. read more

3-21-25. Best prime rib I've had in a long time. The prime rib was perfect very tender and flavorful. The mashed potatoes were tasty but could have been warmer. Baked beans lacked heat and were beyond their prime as they were kind of mushy. Our server Joanne was excellent, friendly and attentive. The diner has some interesting old photos dating back over 100 years of Daytona Beach history. Authentic old diner with lots of charm and character. We'll definitely be back. Its been a LONG while that we can honestly say that the breakfast we had was the absolute BEST...from the coffee (perfectly balanced) biscuits gravy, pork chop plate, ham and cheese omelette with grits (I didn't even have to add butter or salt) and a pancake was DELICIOUS. Starlite is cute diner in Daytona Brach, Florida. We went mid afternoon on weekday for lunch and it wasn't busy. Greeted and seat right away. I enjoyed the Cuban sandwich with French fries. The waitress recommended it because they get fresh cut meats and I was impressed. They use stone mustard and it goes with it very well. Starlite is an authentic diner, and I felt welcomed, comfortable and I left happy and full. Thank you! read more

This is such a great diner! The service is so so friendly. We were warmly greeted and seated. The menu had all you would expect from a diner: chicken, mashed potatoes, veggies, burgers, fries, salad, desserts and, of course, milk shakes. The food reminded me of how my mom used to cook. I ordered a salad and think they put a 2 cups of shredded cheese on top! I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 due to the quality of the food. It was so nostalgic of how restaurants used to serve food. The price was also super great. You can afford to overtip the wait staff, and you will definitely want to because they are so friendly and sweet. read more

We are always on a search for a diner, whether near or far. We looked up diners near us and the Starlite Diner was one of a few. We decided to try this one out because it had the looks of a Silver Diner. If you've lived in Maryland, you know what I mean. The place is a bit small, like a converted train car. Even so, the place is bustling! We had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated and once a booth was available, Michelle, our server, was right there! No time hesitation. She promptly provided our beverages and had taken our orders. I am a type of grits aficionado and it's challenging to find a place that makes it right. Jackpot! They were creamy and smooth! Perfectly made for my taste. Kudos to the chef! Hubby loved his meal too. I really enjoyed my breakfast (early lunch)! If you are in Daytona Beach, drop by and say hi to Michelle! read more

Nice laid back diner. Servers are friendly and attentive. The food was okay. Grilled chicken salad was a bit salty but decent sized. The omelette is pretty big in size and is made with quite a bit of butter. Home fries were crispy and delicious. Overall I'd give it 3.5 stars. read more

Anyone know a good breakfast buffet in Daytona beach?
Yes. The grind and kona tiki on Granada Blvd. One of the best around. Ate there and left a good review about it. Bottomless mimosas and a bloody Mary bar which was great.
