Side salad
Alora M.

We were coming back from a road trip and feeling kinda hungry, so we stopped in for lunch. Again, we weren't disappointed. We'd been here before a few years ago and had enjoyed our meal then. We figured we'd try it again. They had a number of lunch specials; hubby opted for the turkey lunch with potatoes and sides. I opted for the fish and chips. Service, as before, was super friendly and you felt as though you'd been going there for years. First they plunk down their solid, warm slice of bread. We're not bread eaters, but who could say no to this? I got a side salad which was full of fresh and crisps fixings. A great start. Lunch came. Husband devoured his turkey meal. I'm more of a London beer-battered fish and chips, but theirs was very good. Great seasonings, fresh fish, and the fries were well-seasoned. Servings were generous. Prices reasonable. Definitely still good, and definitely will come back again... hopefully won't be waiting a couple of years before we do.

We happened to be running errands early one day and decided to try Steve's Diner since our regular diner is closed on Mondays. It's a nice place, old-fashioned diner in a strip mall. Quite a lot of people there. It was actually hubby's birthday and he was SO excited they had "real" country ham, not "city" ham. He loved it and enjoyed his whole meal. Breakfast for me was very healthy - bacon and coconut cream pie (my fave pie and always my breakfast choice if it's available ). The bacon was amazing (wish I knew the secret ingredient to make it thus good - brown sugar maybe???). The pie was ok, but the topping was not a true homemade meringue so not as good as I had hoped). I hear they have rhubarb pie on occasion though so when we go back for hubby's country ham, I'll try something else next time. Our server (maybe Crystal?) was great!

It's been way too long..... my sister used to live out this way so we would come here all the time. Always great food and service. After many years we were so happy to see they where still here and even more happy to see the same amazing service, delicious huge portions at a great value. We enjoyed everything we ate. Wish we where in town longer so we could have had lunch or dinner here as well. Make sure to get some home made bread instead of toast for breakfast. Everything was cooked to perfection. Also love that the place still looks the same.

Gravy biscuits, scrambled eggs and home fried potatoes.

1/2 biscuit with gravy, scrambled eggs and home fries was absolutely delicious. I don't understand why they call it 1/2 biscuit? It's actually a whole biscuit cut in half with both halves covered in delicious gravy. Ask for Elisha, she is awesome and very pleasant.

You get a lot of food for your money. It's a friendly family atmosphere good service very busy. The bread was homemade. It was just delicious. The chicken soup with homemade. I just enjoyed myself.

Such a friendly, homey environment! Amy was our waitress, she's AMAZING! So friendly and funny! Absolutely great experience

We ate breakfast here on Sunday morning and I'm still thinking about the pistachio muffin that I had . Scrambled eggs and bacon . My husband had a Spanish omelet. Next time we will go for lunch

2 Stars I hate…read moregiving anyone a two-star review, especially for breakfast--my favorite meal of the day--but unfortunately, this one just missed the mark for us. The biggest issue was the quality of the food. If you're going to charge around $15 for a breakfast, put a good-quality sausage patty on the grill. It doesn't take much to make a flavorful sausage gravy from scratch either, but this gravy tasted like it came straight from a bag or can and had almost no flavor. The biscuits themselves were actually pretty good, but pouring margarine over the top completely changed the taste. The sausage patties weren't very good and seemed like they'd been left on the grill too long. The fried potatoes were decent, and so was the sourdough toast. The staff was nice and working hard--they were extremely busy. There were a lot of people in line, so clearly plenty of people enjoy the breakfast here, and the place itself has an interesting atmosphere. The price didn't help. $4 for a Sprite is overkill. We had one breakfast with an egg, sausage, toast and home fries, one waffle, half an order of biscuits and gravy, and drinks, and the bill was over $40. At that price point, I simply expect better-quality breakfast ingredients. This is just our experience and opinion. The staff was friendly, and considering how busy they were, I give them credit for that. Maybe we'll give it another shot next year, but this time around, the quality just didn't match the price.

This is definitely the kind of place that the locals frequent and that's exactly what my dining companion and I look for. The decor is very simple and welcoming, and there are monkeys, racing memorabilia, and other tchotkes that adorn the shelves on the walls. Service is very prompt and friendly. We definitely felt at ease here. I ordered the two egg breakfast which included two eggs anyway you want, toast and one side item. I substituted a biscuit, which was definitely worth the change and requested hashbrowns. The meal was filling, and the hashbrowns were perfectly cooked! My dining companion ordered avocado toast, but after seeing my hashbrowns decided to order a side of hashbrowns for themselves! They were that good! This is definitely the kind of place we would return to if we are in the area.

We typically go to a place in St. Augustine when we do this cruise trip several times per year but decided to change it up. I will say the guy who answered the phone and was also our waiter, was very nice, but thought they were 2 miles off 95 when they are actually 4 miles, but it was a straight shot and worth it. Small locally owned place, which is what we love, and the food and service is good. We started with the pigs in blankets for my hubby and son and they enjoyed them. I'm a vegetarian so we also tried the fried pickles and those were the star of the show! Absolutely delicious! ( I forgot to photograph those two dishes unfortunately). Hubby had the club with fries and thought it was OK, but not great. The meat seemed a bit cheaper quality. Our son had the Cuban sandwich with fries and thought it was good. I had the garden omelette minus the onions, wheat toast and hash browns. The omelet was very good unfortunately the hash browns tasted like meat though so I didn't eat those. I'm sure everything is cooked on the same griddle. I also had a mimosa. They serve their breakfast and lunch menu all day during hours. This spot is a perfect little family owned place with great service and food. They were on a wait list when we left. I would recommend you check them out!
