Excellent food and service. Coffee is fresh and hot. Staff is nice and friendly. Nice little restaurant.

I had already taken a few bites before I remembered to take the photos! However, the toast was not toasty and the bacon was a little dry and crisp. All the food was just okay. The water came in a cute cup though. There was a lot of art on the walls but the lighting was a bit dim I'll say and the whole interior was just a bit outdated. Also, when we got to our table there was leftover used creamer containers still in the creamer bowl. Not the dirtiest place but not the cleanest either. I really liked our waitress though, she was sweet. That's about all I really liked, though. Don't think I'll be returning here and wouldn't recommend it. read more

This place reminds of an old school luncheonette in terms of menu and friendly service. It has all the staple items for breakfast. My meal (biscuits with gravy) was delicious. I was with 4 other people, all their meals looked good (eggs cooked as ordered, breakfast meats, etc.) and everyone liked their meal. This runs rings around chains that serve breakfast (Denny's, McDonalds, Dunkin', etc.) and the prices are reasonable. read more

Small town old school country breakfast. The two Russian ladies here make you feel like you walked into a family kitchen. They seem to know everyone who comes in as well. There is nothing special about the food or service. I come in when I want the no stress, no rush relaxed breakfast. read more

Food wasn't terrible but it wasn't great, pretty bland. Portions were pretty small, barely got any home-fries, definitely not like the pictures they display in the restaurant of the meals. Food was very slow to come out. 25-30 minutes for food when only 2 other tables were in there besides us, they make 1 thing at a time. The waitress seemed nice but we really didn't get checked on. The cook seemed to get mad and started talking back and forth with the other employees angrily in an Eastern European language (I think it was Russian). We'll probably just stick to cooking at home. Definitely not worth paying 7.75 a meal. read more

Coming from Michigan, it's hard to find something in Florida that compares to a coney island or small breakfast/lunch joint with decent prices and good portions. Granada Cafe is my closest find! They always have great service and really good food. Highly recommended! read more

Stopped in for a quick breakfast today. I ordered the "house special," which was okay, not great. Unlike the picture in the menu, the sausage gravy was the bland white paste variety. Service was terrible, the server was very unfriendly and slow and it took twenty minutes for my meal to come out (it didn't seem like the cook could manage more than one order at a time.) SLOW AND UNSANITARY! Walked in for breakfast, and had to start cleaning off my own table. Sat down and waited 15 minutes for menus. Got coffee and water 10 minutes later, and never got asked for refills until meal arrived, which was 1.5 hours later. Only reason we didn't walk out was because it was the only option available (biker week/lines longer than my wait time here!!). Watched as customers left...tables were never cleared/cleaned until they had to me. It was awful. Learned my lesson, won't EVER eat here again! read more

We live in Ormond Beach, and eat here for breakfast or lunch a couple of times a month. The business is family owned - grandma is the cook and granddaughter is our usual server. The food is always fresh, and the portions large and the cost inexpensive. I usually get an omelet and hash browns for breakfast, or a burger for lunch, which I get to customize like I want it. My wife is always happy with her food as well. read more

Well, I'm not sure how this place for such high reviews. The food was good. Nothing to rave home about. If you are in a rush, don't go there. I ordered a simple breakfast eggs, bacon, grits and it literally took almost an hour. The server was rude. She was busy, but was not pleasant or welcoming. Seems like a local restaurant and there were a lot of regulars there. My toddler spilled water on the table that she did see and I had to ask for a roll of paper towels to clean it. I got up to get more napkins since she didn't return to ask how everything was. Upon payment, they don't take AMEX. If baffles me the businesses that don't take it considering that most businesses have AMEX accounts. Glad I had cash. Anyhow, I won't return. read more

Breakfast on a Thursday morning at 10am. Server asked me to move tables due to large nasty ceiling panel that was feared to fall on table. No problem, but gross. There was only one server and quite a few tables were full. Service was pleasant but very slow. Need more help. Eggs over easy with sausage patties, home fries, wheat toast. The home fries were awesome, best I've had in a while, eggs were over easy and way under cooked with lots of water or moisture in them, sausage was tough and over cooked. The biggest disappointment was the coffee. Way too strong, too dark, and strange flavor. Overall it was not that great. Sorry to say that, quant little spot, but mom and pop got some work to do here. Used to eat here long ago under previous owners. Quality needs a lot of improvement or figure out what to order to steer clear of the land mines. read more

Went there today, Sunday December 1 at 1200. Only 4 tables with patrons, most of whom already had been served. Waited 10 minutes before server, whom I suspect was probably an owner, brought menus. Another 10 minutes before she presented to take our order. Now 1220. Between 1220 and 110 three tables left and two more arrived. When my wife's omelette arrived at 110 all the tables had been served. At 130 my order arrived after my wife had finished. Server/0wner, when asked about the delay, her reply was I should be more patient as all meals are cooked to order, duh. She mumbled something about another order similar to mine, a mixup with ticket orders, and some other mumbo-jumbo. Not a word of consolation. Food mediocre and service poor. read more

Wanted to try a local non chain restaurant and what a poor choice. Upon entering, we were not "greeted" were sat with a table of other people and were told they were leaving soon. Took 10 minutes to be asked what my wife and I wanted to drink but not the kids. When our coffee arrived we ordered....and proceeded to wait 30 minutes. When I asked the only person I could see how long it would be, she spoke no English, I peeked around corner to see the owner who walked over and asked what was the problem. After telling her we had been waiting for 40 minutes, I was told that was untrue. She said it is Bikeweek to which I replied I know, I've lived here for 30 years. I said but there are 10 people in here to which the reply was "Are you kidding me, we cook one order at a time. My friend eating here is also a restaurant owner and that is how it is done." We decided to leave and we're argued our over choice to not eat food we were starving to eat. As far as kid friendly, no booster seats, no crayons, children were supposed to amuse themselves with half and half and sugar packets. I am a supporter of small business, but wow! We ended up going to Peach Valley Cafe which was SLAMMED. From entering we were eating delicious non typical breakfast offerings in 20 minutes. All in all, don't waste your time unless you like being scolded and ignored and paying for the "privilege" to do so. read more

S.L.O.W. Slow. Slowwwwwww. We called ahead asking if it was busy and could they fit a table of 4 for brunch at 11 on a Sunday, they said yeah no problem... Unfortunately my brother didn't read the reviews or we would know about speed of service. We arrived and took a minute to get seated, waited a minute to get menus from the host, waited another 5 minutes for the server to greet us, another 5-10 minutes for her to come back for our order and a whopping 40 minutes later when I asked about how much longer the food would be, she said that they had not started it, that it was next and they cooked one table at a time to order. WOW. It seems like they are a nice family owned place, but definitely no sense of urgency or communication skills. Would not go back or ever recommend anyone to go here. The food looked decent but not spectacular; and with one cook in the kitchen who didn't wear gloves or a hair net I'm dubious about their sanitation score as well... Not trying to knock a family place, but they could definitely step it up in a few departments.... One star for extremely sub par service, but a plus for the owner telling us not to worry about the two coffees when we had to leave since the food hadn't been started after almost an hour. read more
