Well I finally made it to Mr. Wich the very nostalgic and famous deli after all the years of hearing mixed reviews I finally got to experience it for myself. Some say the pastrami is the best ever other says the pizza is to die for, well today it seemed most people came for the pizza but I had already decided on the pastrami before I pulled in the parking lot. This was a giant sandwich freshly prepared while I waited, really good fresh rye bread, spicy mustard, swiss cheese and a lot of hot from the grill pastrami (deli sliced but I knew that coming in). I got here a few minutes after they opened so there was no line and the woman working the register was so friendly and accommodating, the older gentleman I presume is George was busy tending to the pizzas and sandwich orders that were coming in. I planned to eat this outside at one of the older tables and chairs which I found pretty cool so told her that and she had the sandwich put in a container and didn't bag it but ensured I had plenty of napkins. The sandwich was $17.04 with tax so there went my twenty dollar bill with the tip. Well that seemed a little expensive to me until I opened it up once I grabbed a seat in the shade and found it was easily enough for two or one with half to take home. There are a number of reasons I give them 4 stars but honestly the sandwich was at best a three, it was a little chewy with maybe a little too much time on the grill. I'm happy I was able to experience this place and I'm planning to return to experience a few slices of pizza (two slices of cheese or pepperoni pizza and a can drink for $8.00) sounds more than reasonable to me... read more

I haven't been here in quite a while but here's my good and bad points The food I had was very good ie roast beef sub-excellent She had an Italian sub but didn't care for it Prices were a bit high at the time but not sure what they are over a year later but my biggest complaint was the ceiling was a total turn off for a place serving food. There were so many rusty water stains and sagging drop ceiling panels that I choose to never return. Hopefully that's been fixed after by now. Anyone reading this please advise read more

Sandwich's here are always delicious and made with love. Generous amounts of meat no matter which sandwich you get. Love their Rueben with Thousand Island dressing, but you can choose the traditional New York style, Honey Mustard. Their sandwiches are some of the Best in town. read more

Been coming here for a while now. The price for the subs originally were more affordable and now everything went through the roof, A 6" $16 and footlong $24 that's ridiculous, much higher than a Jersey Mikes subs. The pizza special is somewhat still the same price but at that price for a sub regardless of the size is ridiculous. read more

Went to Mr. Wich for the 2nd time today to get takeout after a morning at the beach and it did not disappoint. Hubby had been raving about his hot Reuben sandwich so got the same thing - on rye bread, loaded with pastrami (or corned beef) and sauerkraut and finished off in the oven. I tried something new - the 6" meatball sub and it was delicious! Sauce is house made (I think the same one is used on the pizza which we hope to try next time!). Chatted with the young lady at the counter for awhile and she told me the chef (owner? I'm not sure) had been making everything for 46 years!! They also have homemade desserts - baklava, tiramisu and rice pudding, so today I tried the rice pudding and omg it's great! I LOVE rice pudding and this ranks in the top! read more

Very high priced for what you get paid 45$ for two sandwiches and two drinks and I ended up throwing my sandwich away because how bad it was. Everything that came on the club sandwich was wadded up inside a tiny little roll in a ball and was unappetizing. And my wife's sandwich had a bunch of fuzzy hairs through out it. worst sandwich iv had in my life. feels like I just through 45$ in the trash. Will not be going back read more

Finally found a great sandwich in the Ormond area. You guys know my sandwich rules, the Publix sub is the baseline against I judge all other sandwiches. The Publix sub is a three out of five. The hot club I got is easily two stars better than any Publix sub. I'll start with the bread. It's light airy with a perfect crunchy exterior. Almost like French, but a little bit thinner. The sandwich meats are high quality and piled high which gives the sandwich and almost open-faced look by the time they wrap it up in that classic thick butcher paper. If you crave a really good deli style sandwich and are sick of all those average sandwiches available everywhere, this is the place to go in Ormond Beach. read more

I've been eating at Mr. Wich Deli since George opened the restaurant, everything you get there whether it's a hoagie a submarine sandwich pizza it's always out of this world terrific. Definitely consistent each and every time I would highly recommend you stop for lunch tables outside to sit and enjoy the weather or take it to go home or to your job siteDefinitely worse stopping by he will be impressed. Just bought a $15 pastrami Reuben and I had to throw away over half of it as it is in edible you cannot chew it. We're so much I've ever had where I've ever ever had. I don't think I'll be going back to Mr. which deli again as it used to be a good place now sucks the big one wow $15 just throw it just to bring it home and throw it in the frigging trash. you so much Wade 0.94 of a pound I had to throw away 0.93 of the sandwich so basically I threw the whole damn sandwich away because you cannot chew it. An absolute local institution! If you're looking for a truly good sandwich, this is the place to go. Also, their Greek salad is fantastic. I would give five stars, but, if I'm honest, the pizza does leave something to be desired. However, that's not what you really want to go there for. Their sandwiches, salads, and desserts are all excellent. Like I said, you may want to avoid the pizza. But, whenever somebody asks me a good spot to go for lunch. Very good food! Seems family owned which I love because I believe the owner was still in there working. Reminds me of my great grandfather who migrated from France and opened up a bakery in ATL. Prices a little high, I'm sure with the times now they have to keep up with inflation, however, the pizza special looked like a great deal. Definitely worth trying and I'm glad I do. I will be back! Someone posted that this place has the best Cuban. I was hesitate as I am a sucker for a Cuban sandwich. It isn't a traditional Cuban but it is well worth it. I got that. Chips. 2 cans of Coke and some baklava for $16. That's a good deal for an awesome sandwich. read more

Don't let the appearance of this hole in the wall scare you away. The food was excellent and the portions are generous. I had the Cuban... and I have never seen so much meat! While visiting my bro-in-law in Ormond beach we had a craving for some subs. I always remember passing Larry's Giant Subs and thought this would be a great place to go. Luckily I checked Yelp! and found several reviews saying that Larry's subs were not so Giant. In addition, they committed the cardinal carnivore sin - NOT A LOT OF MEAT. EEEKS! Disaster averted I searched for a place that served some heavy duty sandwiches. Lo and behold I found Wich Deli. The reviews talked about the mountains of meat and I knew I found my place. When we drove up I knew it was going to be good - A bit dive-y but it had been around for a LONG time. If they lasted this long amongst the chains of the world they had to be doing something right. I ordered a small Italian and I am lucky I did not order a large. The sub was absolutely STUFFED with delicious meat. I was very happy satisfied after eating it. I also tried a roast beef and turkey and it was awesome. Best part about this place is that subs are CHEAP. Each small sub was less than $8 and probably had more meat than 3 subway footlongs combined. Thanks Yelp! for this awesome find. We will be regular visitors every time we go to Ormond. read more

WOW. I haven't been to Mr. Wich Deli in such a long time and having dinner their tonight has revived my love of great deli sandwiches. I ordered the Italian; it included all of the meats you could imagine and for only the 6 inch sub, I was amazed at the amount of meat. The subs right now are $5.99 for the 6 inch version of any one of their subs. You can mix and match the meats and create your own sub to your personal specificiations. My fiance had a corn beef and pastrami with provolone cheese.. The meat was overflowing which was amazing. I also ordered a side of baklava for dessert and it was some of the best I've ever had. I got a tiramusu for later. All of the desserts are made fresh in house by George, who is the owner. They also have a great pizza special, 2 slices (cheese or pepperoni) and a soda for $3.99 (plus any additional topping is only 45 cents). Not only do they have great specials, but, they offer a wide range of daily lunch specials (11a-3p only). Next time I go, I will definitely be having the pizza! Consistently good! I've eaten here 4 times, mostly for dinner but once for lunch and the food was always what I expected. My favorite is the chicken salad 6 inch sub. The salad is made with chopped onion, celery, and it mayo. If you order it "all the way," it'll be served on white bread sub roll with mayo, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, and chicken salad piled high! I don't know who thought banana peppers and chicken salad would be a good flavor combination but whoever it was, was a genius! I crave this sandwich! My second favorite item on the menu is the pepperoni pizza. The sauce is sweet and there's so much cheese, it stretches a good few inches. The Greek salad is recommended for feta and meat lovers! Went last night. Had a couple of pizza's a sandwich and some salads and a sandwich. The mushrooms on the pizza looked like canned mushrooms. Not fresh. Not an abundance of Pepperoni on the other pizza. My Italian sausage sub, while it had a fair amount of meat on it, it was very VERY bland. I love Tiramisu but this was possibly the worst tiramisu I had ever eaten. After 3 bites it was in the trash The potato salad was ok though. We have driven by this place for years and always wanted to try it. We did but we won't be back. read more

Saw the reviews and thought I would try this place for a take out order. Had a Pastrami on Rye. The pastrami was very good I have to say. (Probably Boars Head). However the restaurant itself was in poor shape. Stained leaky ceiling tiles along with a feeling of just not being clean did not impress me. Plus, there seemed to be no social distancing in place. No mask ordinance. No hand cleaner. Even the employees were wearing mask incorrectly. Won't be going back until the epidemic is over for sure. read more
