What a gem we stumbled on! We were picking up bagels for the fam at Einstein and I asked an employee where to go for a good biscuit and gravy and they told me same shopping center other end! The sweetest family feel and everyone is a regular! Sausage gravy with biscuits, 2 eggs scrambled and bacon for $8! Mickey Mouse pancake for kids, $3.75! Pretty good little breakfast and lunch place. Open till 200pm. Been awhile since here last Nicest waitress you can ask for and what is great is that all of the workers come thru asking if you need coffee, everything is good etc I had the 2 eggs cheese on hashbrowns smoked sausage with rye toast. Very good and eggs were perfect. Lots of potatoes Candyce had her bacon and eggs scrambled and her breakfast was great. The place is small and service was great. Boy, Do I love this little restaurant. It is forever busy and only open until 2 pm so you really have to hustle to be there early. Well, even when you're early you might still have to wait. Patrons do not give up their seats quite readily. The place is always jammed to capacity and the servers are always in the weeds.(restaurant talk for not enough time or someone else to help out) BUT these ladies are AMAZING. They do their jobs well. I really appreciate them for how busy they are. Now, the food. Such good food. They serve it the way you want it. They are very accommodating about this. Unfortunately, these servers have to split their tips so please tip well. No, do not think you can slip one an extra tip because they will get FIRED for that. Disappointed this time We have enjoyed this place for breakfast many times. I have given them good reviews for it as well. This time: We walk in and they are busy. No worries, we don't mind waiting. There was a table that needed to be cleaned so we could be seated. A waitress looked over at us, but didn't smile or acknowledge in anyway that she would be with us. Figured maybe she would get someone to clean the table. Nope, she went back and served other tables. No one came and said anything. After 10 minutes of standing there holding a baby, we left. Only reason for the 2 stars is because I do know they have good food. But the service this time around was extremely disappointing. Not sure if I'll make the trip since it is out of the way. Best Neighborhood Cafe Excellent food and service! I always get their eggs and scrapple. Best in town. We went for breakfast and had a great meal. I ordered 2 eggs over medium, hashbrowns cooked hard, smoked sausage and rye toast. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the toast as well, but the hashbrowns were barely browned. None of them were crunchy. That was the only downside to the meal, but kept it from being 100%. read more

Food was average at best. I had a biscuit and gravy and a side of corned beef hash. Gravy tasted like it was out of a packet and biscuit was just a frozen biscuit microwaved. Corned beef hash was ok. I went to pay my bill and was informed they add 50 cents to your bill to use a debit or credit card. I'm sorry but taking credit cards should be just a cost of doing business. Passing along this fee to the customer is ridiculous. I can understand a minimum charge to use a credit card, but not every transaction. I gave it two stars instead of one because the service was good. I will not be back though. read more

While visiting friends that live in Ormond Beach we came across this place and the good stars reviews had us check it out, we are glad we did. It's a real cozy place and the staff are so friendly. You can tell it is a local favorite with regular customer and people know who you are. I love that type of place over a big chain any day. I enjoyed my breakfast, very basic egg breakfast for me and since I am so picky about my food being cooked right I had my worries but it came out exactly how I order it and was very good. Our friends had the homemade muffins before their breakfast and said they were very good as well. Over all this place was a hit and if I lived closer I would be a regular as well ;-). Went in for lunch before shopping at our favorite local market, Perrines. Ordered a French dip sandwich, asking specifically if it's lean or not, and being told it is in fact lean I order it. What I received was gristle on a large hot dog bun, with no cheese or onions. Literally just the saddest looking wannabe French dip I'd ever seen... and the "beef" was tendons and gristle slapped on a bun. I asked why there's no cheese on it, to which I get the reply theirs doesn't come with it. I ask for cheese, they tell me the options and I opt for the cheddar. They didn't tell me it was shredded cheddar so when I pick up my sandwich to dip it all the cheese begins falling out. I opened it to try and remedy the cheese fall out and that's when I discovered the beef was anything but lean or edible. I sent it back and said no thank you to anything else, and am in earshot of the people working talking about me because I didn't like their appalling excuse for food. The waitress had the nerve to say to my mother "the manager checked the sandwich, there wasn't much gristle on it" to which my mother replied "she specifically asked if it was lean before ordering it". Do not eat here, unprofessional and gross... just go to Perrines and get a great meal with nicer people helping you. read more

Breakfast in HUGE portions. I ordered the farmer's omelet, which was loaded with fillings. The bread was fresh and the hash browns were made to order (extra crispy). I thoroughly enjoyed the hearty breakfast here. Nowhere around Ormond will you find a breakfast this good! We've been back multiple times and never left disappointed. The banana nut pancakes are fantastic and the Greek omelet is the amazing. This is a great breakfast spot! read more

Based on Yelp reviews we gave this place a try and learned a lesson: make sure to look at total number of reviews not just stars. I got biscuits and gravy special and hubby had an omelette. The breakfast potatoes were just gross and hubby said the only things on his plate that tasted "okay" were the toast (which is pretty hard to mess up) and the corned beef hash (which was straight out of a can). We were hoping for a greasy spoon diamond in the rough but ended up with greasy smelling clothes and unhappy tummies. read more
