My sister noticed this bakery as she was driving by and invited me to check it out with her. I'm so glad she did! Thanks, sis! When we entered, the pastry case is the first thing that caught my eye! I immediately thought of scoring some yummy pastries for my amazing team. I knew they would enjoy them! And I was correct! I ordered blueberry scones, buttery croissants, hand-made brown sugar & cinnamon pop tarts, cheese danishes, chocolate chip cookies, and more. I took advantage of the great variety that was offered. There was sure to be something for everyone. I noticed that they also sell loaves of various breads, including gluten-free offerings. They even have a variety of delicious sounding sandwiches to satisfy your lunch cravings! I totally enjoyed speaking with the person who was assisting me. I'm not sure if he was the owner, but he was telling me about the business. Super friendly! I really appreciated the care he took in packaging the pastries! Be aware that this is strictly a take-out place, as there are no tables and chairs. I enjoy supporting our local businesses! A fantastic experience and a fantastic product! I'm already thinking about my next visit!

The BEST gluten free bread I've ever had. I buy a loaf almost every week. Love this place!

A bakery should not sell day old bread at full price, specially when it's already overpriced. It won't stay open long.

We walked into this cozy little establishment and were welcomed immediately. The service was wonderful and the owner and her daughter made it a point to make us feel at home. My husband ordered a freshly squeezed orange juice that was the sweetest I've ever tasted. He went traditional with eggs, toast and bacon which were all cooked to perfection and I had the baked avocado which was hands down one of the best breakfasts I've ever had. I'm a savory girl and try to eat healthy when possible so this was perfect for me. The baked avocado was stuffed with eggs, cheese, and crispy bacon on top which was nestled on a bed of fresh crisp lettuce, tomato, green onion and a fresh tangy dressing that gave it the perfect balance of acid that it needed. Cutting into the avocado was my favorite part to get to that beautiful runny yolk. So many crepe choices too. I can't wait to go back next time we are here visiting to try something else!

After eating, we had an uber that was 3 minutes away and they wouldn't let us wait there at the table after spending almost $150 on breakfast. The waiter rudely asked us to wait outside when the weather was not favorable to waiting outside.

We were told the wait was 30 minutes for two people but it was only around 15 minutes. Katie took care of us and overall she was ok. She was busy as I saw her attending to tables outside but it felt like she did the bare minimum. She took our order, refilled our drinks, and assisted us in paying our bill. Food didn't take long to come out and almost every table was full with a large mob waiting inside and outside of the restaurant. I enjoyed the food although it could have been hotter. Both of our meals were warm so we think it could have been sitting for a while in the kitchen before we were served. I liked the eggs Benedict as the meal had a nice texture overall and the hollandaise sauce was tasty. Potatoes were crispy and I found the seasoning to be perfect. They need smaller plates because I felt like the cost of the meal was more than what it was actually worth. You can see in the picture that my meal appears small because the plate is so big. I ate it all so fast and I was actually still hungry at the end. I didn't know my meal came with some fruit so that was a nice touch. Our server did try to upsell us a couple times offering me a side of toast or some fritters for the table when we sat. It's a decent place to stop at in town. It's very casual and gives diner vibes with the semi sticky menus.

The new owners immediately made facility changes that vastly improved the look and feel of the shop. Not only new flooring, but the display cases, reach-in coolers, furnishings and other customer comforts. They "tidied up" the place and fixed stuff - exactly what was needed. They also expanded the existing menu without taking a blow torch to it. From my interactions with the staff, it was pretty obvious the owners were wanting to learn more about downtown Daytona, their legacy customers, and the changing market. Changes they made were mostly tweaks, all seeming to be received positively. Since the new year, it's obvious Serra Doce is leveraging all they've learned and have made major changes and improvements. They seem all in. There is now a brunch and à la cart breakfast and amazing sandwiches, pastries and fresh fruit offerings. Truly, Serra Doce has retained the best of why I've always enjoyed my coffees at this location, and expanded my choices with really amazing food offerings. The service is great. It's tough to keep staff these days, and like any regular place I go to, I do see new faces. But old ones too. All of my interactions have always been wonderful. It's why I come back. And it's still an affordable spot and, MOST IMPORTANTLY dog friendly and welcoming.
