The patio looks really nice, if we're back in the area again, we'll definitely want to sit out there. For starters, we each had soup. Hubby had Baked Potato Soup and I got the Mushroom Brie soup. They were both very, very good! I also liked that they waited a little while after finishing our soups to bring us our mains. (There's nothing more annoying than trying to finish your starter and your entree is sitting there getting cold.) Hubby got the Pesto Grilled Cheese, which he inhaled! I got the Marbled Cuban with a side of Sweet Potato Fries (we ended up sharing those). My sandwich was really good, the roasted pork was so tender. The fries were nice and crispy. Our server was friendly, as was the host who sat us. We really enjoyed our meal. Sadly, there's 3 Perfect Pear Bistro's in this area, but none in the West Valley. I would say our valley is really missing out on some good eats!

The white maybe 5"6-5"7 not sure what his height was but he was short security guard who was most likely bald with a black hat, not sure what his name is kicked me out (I was sober by the way) and tried to kick my friends out trying to sober up at the patio. The short but RUDE white security guard claimed it was "His bar" and said we had to leave. He made me leave first which I didn't understand because I was the sober one and left my vulnerable friends at the bar and argued with them. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM ALL THE MALE SECURITY GAURDS. My two friends were just trying to sober up and we were not disturbing ANYONE ONE. The WHITE SECURITY GAURD kept saying "to leave his bar". How entitled of him to call it HIS BAR when it actually isn't his . First time I have dealt with this kind of treatment and shame on the security guards trying to kick us out when we were literally just minding our own business trying to get my two friends to sober up and drink water. Collins the head of security has no care for people health. Have proof of him picking and choosing who to search and let in for free. He also has fits of rage and uses excessive force. Seems like most negative reviews are about him. Sadly he is part of the management team so if anyone knows how to establish a contact in HR I am sure a few people would be interested in sharing their expirences with his abusive power. Extremely homophobic. I was grinded on by college girls. I told them that I wasn't interested and that they were invading my space. They decieded to continue because it was funny to grind against gay guys. When I finally told them to f*** off, they called security and had us escorted from the venue. This place is homophobic and doesn't take any reason when considering the circumstances that we were put under. It's 2022 people, girls can do things that men don't want. Get with the times. Fuck this place. Got told i was too drunk and walked out when i caused no drama whatsoever. Apparently now a days you can tell when someone is drunk based off their "eyes" according to security.. first and last time i will ever step foot in this place and for sure will be disputing all transactions. This bar has great potential and Is definitely going to by my new favorite spot in Tempe. Great DJs, the food was delicious, good prices on drinks. The only downfall was the ridiculously rude and immature security guards. The guards would walk up and down and stare and make dirty looks. When I asked where the bathroom was he looked at me and said "can you not read the sign". They were making perverted stares at my girlfriend as well. I came to Sunbar for a show. A female group harrassed my group of gay friends. When we told them that we weren't into their gender, they became agressive and called security on us. Security decided that their were back in the 90's with how their treated lgbtqia+ people and showed us out because we didn't accept their come-ons. We were extrememly upset with how a bar in tempe would handle this situation. Please go to other venues if you wanted to be treated equally straight or gay. read more

Running between the two to help guests and customers. The Front Desk Guy didn't know how to mix any cocktails and he couldn't get the draft beer to pour. So it was just basically bottled beer and single spirit drinks like Jack & Coke or 7&7. They also didn't have any bar food available which was a big disappointment. Guess the cook called out as well. So I can't rate the service any higher due to the for mentioned reasons. I applaud the Front Desk Guy for doing the best he could doing multiple jobs on a busy Saturday Evening.

Trivia nights are fun, drinks and food are both discounted while Trivia is going on. Their food is exceptional (especially for a dive bar), and especially when their Lead Cook Donovan is working. Their bartenders Hannah and Christian are the perfect Duo, extremely friendly and completely set the vibe of the entire place making you feel welcome, ALWAYS in a contagiously good mood, and always laughing about something. These two have a way about themselves that every bar owner can only hope and dream to find as qualities/attributes in their bartenders, and it wouldn't surprise me if they've gained a solid fan base/following of regulars by now. Between Donovan's stellar food, and Christian and Hannah's good vibes i can't help but make this my go-to spot for a cold beer or Irish car bomb. Cheers guys!

They have 4 pool tables, but I think 2 are closed due to covid19 guidelines - -they have their patio open and that's always a plus to be able to escape for a little for some fresh air or if you're a cigarette smoker - you'd definitely end up on the patio making new friends because everyone is friendly there!! We had such an amazing time. Shout out to Mickey for allowing us to go behind the bar to make the cocktails, it was a first time experience for me.
