I came here Saturday for DJ Lex. Had to order food since it was during dinner time. I got the pretzel bites and the loaded waffles fries. It came out pretty fast. Our server initially told us he wasn't sure if the kitchen was still open but was so glad they took our order. He brought the food to our table and we devoured it. It was tasty and arrived hot. It was the perfect appetizer to hold us over until the concert was over.

I'm giving Sunbar 5 stars because its overall rating of 3 stars is far too low. Sunbar is one of the few remaining places in DT Tempe where you can go to enjoy some great EDM DJs, have drinks, and dance!! If you understand that Sunbar shines for those reasons, you get it. I don't want to lose this place too -- after Shady Park had to close for BS reasons and most recently DarkStar has shut down. When the weather is nice, I personally prefer the outdoor patio stage over the larger indoor club area upstairs. The smaller patio just has a real cool vibe. I've been there for Sunday daytime brunch parties and the late night shows ending at 2am. Both are fun. Service is generally just okay, the bartenders aren't overly friendly but they aren't mean either. The security people can be a little rude depending on which ones you're interacting with. Again, not bad, I just know there are other places in the valley with friendlier staff. For a real treat, go when they have Sunday brunch bottles & beats-- catch Nathan Reeser & Andrew Hoffman making it dance-y.

Plating is absolutely GORGEOUS. Really nice ambiance, music, seating, area. The food was pretty bland. 1 cent champagne for ordering an entree, very very enticing!!!! What a great addition to the menu. Service was excellent, our server Kendall went above and beyond and made our experience there amazing.

I've been here a few times now and every visit has been really enjoyable. The food is delicious, and one of my favorite things is their Sunday breakfast deal where you order a breakfast entrée and it comes with a penny champagne bottle and your choice of juice. That is honestly hard to beat and feels pretty unique. And even though I don't remember what I ordered, I do remember finishing my breakfast so I know it was delicious. This is a great place to catch up with friends. The ambiance is really nice, it's outdoors, there's plenty of seating, and they're good at accommodating larger groups. I know a lot of people who host birthday brunches here, even with bigger parties, and it always seems to work out. There's also a bartender, which is a plus. I also really like that it's not overwhelmingly loud. Some places lean heavy into that vibe, but here you can actually talk and enjoy your time together. At the same time, they do host special DJ nights, and I've been to a few of their Bad Bunny nights on weekends, which are a lot of fun and a totally different energy. Overall, it's a fun spot that works for both relaxed brunches and livelier nights out. Definitely a place I'll keep coming back to.

Sunbar's an ideal place for brunch, especially since each entree comes with a bottle of champagne for mimosas. The brunch menu is small but full of promising dishes. Not a single person at my table complained about their meal, and I was really happy with the brunch special I got! -- smoked salmon bagel. I don't believe this is part of Sunbar's menu all the time, but I really wish it were because I enjoyed it :) The vibes here are cool. There are live DJ's here during brunch, making for a nice outing with friends.

Walked over to Sunbar after having sushi next door. After passing by this place earlier and hearing the music, my friends and I all wanted to check it out. The dj was playing some really good music! We grabbed a round of drinks at the bar and sat at one of the bigger tables. We were outdoors but the misting system was on so it helped a bit. We got a second round and as we were close to being done, the power went out in the area! We had to wait a bit so staff could figure out how to close everyone out. They were eventually able to find a way and we headed to the next spot indoors with ac lol. Each round was $51 for 5 drinks. Not bad! This would be a nice patio bar when it's cooler for sure. Especially, if it's the same dj playing the same type of music!

Awesome tables great brunch. waffles were fabulous The seats were a little sticky, but we loved the food in the ambience and the one penny champagne bottles with an entrée on the weekends

Ask the Community - Sunbar Tempe

    Is the patio pet friendly?

What time does brunch on the weekends go until?

Seems like they flex the end time as long as they are busy. I'll say my experience was I showed up at 3:30 and they had recently stopped serving brunch.

Do they have a phone number for take out?

The balcony has been there for a while now, but I could just never bring myself to pay the balcony prices. Last night show with Silverstein/Story of the Year, ruined that for me forever. With a bar and bathrooms upstairs the only thing missing is a merch booth up there! Even if it's just a couple of shirts from each band playing, come on Marquee! We got in line around 6:30p for the show and got in pretty quickly. No problem with security, I had my clear fanny pack and was good to go. Look up their bag policies online and you shouldn't have a problem! Bartender was friendly and the drinks were good, the view was great from the balcony and the bands on stage killed it. Bathroom was a little gross, but that's the other concert goers for sure. Be considerate people! 10/10, I love this place.

The only disdain I have is that I brought my cute little purse that went with my outfit and the security lady told me it was too big. Like what? It was a clutch with a handle. My friend's purse was bigger than mine and they didn't say anything about hers. Wild. She used a Lululemon Fannie pack to measure it and that Thang is tiny. Then they were charging to check the purses or put in the car. I put mine in the car because that's wild . Parking was $15 at the venue. I had only been to this venue one time 5 years ago and I didn't drive so I didn't know about parking fees. Minus that, I enjoyed the concert.

The venue felt significantly oversold, to the point where it was nearly impossible to move comfortably. From where I was standing, I couldn't see the stage at all, which made it hard to enjoy the performance I came to see. Beyond just being crowded, it felt unsafe. The number of people packed into the space seemed excessive, and I genuinely question whether it exceeded fire code limits. People were standing all the way back into the bar area. Navigating through the crowd was difficult, and there didn't appear to be enough room for people to exit easily if needed. I've been to this venue since its 2017 opening and had much better experiences, but this event felt poorly managed. I hope they take crowd capacity and guest safety more seriously in the future.

Since we were planning the event from out of town, having a team we could trust was incredibly important -- and Bailey and the entire staff handled everything flawlessly. A special thank you to Bailey, the Event Coordinator, who was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She was organized, responsive, and made everything feel easy and stress-free leading up to the event and the night of the dinner. The highlight was definitely the Rafter Room -- it was even more impressive in person than in the pictures. If your kitchen can't handle a simple order in a reasonable amount of time, don't accept DoorDash orders in the first place. What's even more frustrating is the complete lack of respect for customers' time. There was no urgency, no accountability, and no reason a two-item order should take longer than two hours. Accepting orders you clearly can't fulfill is misleading and incredibly unprofessional. I won't be ordering from Social Hall again, and I wouldn't recommend anyone else waste their time either. It tries to be those things and fails in all. The layout: It's a long narrow room. The stage is on the smaller far end. The tables are arranged going back along the long direction. If you're sitting more than halfway back you'll be disappointed in the seating. In the back are high-top tables which are very small. The "bar" is along the long wall. The "restaurant" is catered food ( I don't think the venue has a kitchen). It's arranged buffet style on portable tables in the lobby. You go in a line and chose your dinner and they hand it to you in a plastic to-go container. You eat at your table and then bus your leftovers and trash to the trash can. There is no wait service. Just like eating at a fast food restaurant. If your sitting at a small high-top table there's not enough room for more than two people to eat. You'll be seated with strangers and they'll be right in your face as you eat. The "bar" only has beer and wine for alcohol. Or you could get a canned mixed drink. Stand in line and wait your turn at the end of the bar. The bar seats are reserved for the show. Remember no wait service. So if you want a drink during the show you have to go to the bar. Music was not Jazz. Very slow, boring folk. The crowd was 70+ year olds. And they charge for this experience? Won't be going back.

I can only speak to it as a bar & music venue, not sure if they have food items. It's a great, small intimate space to see an artist you know well or discover something new. Last time we were there was to see one of our favorites, Black Pistol Fire, this past spring. We love that band and have seen them perform many times, we were happy they played at crescent. They have such great energy during shows and the lead singer always gets into the crowd, last time he went over to the back bar and played guitar on it. Was pretty awesome! This recent time we went to see rapper Intuition from LA. He was opening for Wax & Dj Hoppa. They were new to me, but it was a great hip hop show. Generally the sound is good in the venue and they have a bar up front with some seating. Behind the curtain where the stage is, there's a bar back too. There are also bleachers but I usually don't sit on them, but they are there if needed. Cocktails are like regular bar prices, and good thing, they are quality drinks. I had the whiskey sour and old fashioned. Both were very good with quality spirits. At $16, they should be good and not some afterthought cocktail. They also have beers on tap for like $8. I'll definitely be back for another show at some point. Until then, cheers!
