Another great place to catch a show. Staff is cool . Drink prices are fair . A few pool tables if you need . Bench seats and high tops are available for seating. The stage is somewhat small - a few times that I've been there some of the band members set up on the floor. The stage isn't high at all . The sound is good and there is a lot of room to hang out . The only things I'd change are - Shut off or cover the jukebox while bands are playing Get a lock for the men's bathroom. Small details for an otherwise great place for a good hang .

Once you try it, you will understand the name. One of the more innovative cocktails I have ever had... and I ended up having two! So delicious and an experience in itself!! We enjoyed some light bites as well - the Edamame Hummus and Shishito Peppers. Both were fantastic! I love that their menu points out which items are gluten-free... and our server even warned me that the plantain chips in the Edamame Hummus could have cross-contamination... so I very much appreciate that heads up! I opted to order them anyway and I am so glad I did - so good! And I experienced no gluten issues. Awesome! I'm already looking forward to a return trip! I love the giant disco balls and the aesthetic of this place. We started with the appletini and lemongrass highball (non-alcoholic). My friend and I ended up switching drinks because we liked each other's more than our own. For the second round, we ordered the brandy spritz and primrose martini. We weren't fans of the brandy spritz, although my friend grew into it. The primrose martini was quite good, I liked it better than the appletini. For snackies, we ordered the glizzy gaunlet, which was basically a tower of carbs. It came with 5 mini dogs with milk bread, and potato wedges. There were 3 sauces, my favorite in order were the: truffle dijonnaise, kosho aioli, and korean ketchup. We enjoyed this more than the food at Filthy Animal. Although it was pricey ($22) for just carbs and hardly any protein. The milk bread was delicious and the mini dogs were pretty good too. The potato wedges were cooked perfectly, slightly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Would I return? Probably not. The food was better than the drinks but it wasn't outstanding.

I came to check out Ear Candy and celebrate my birthday and got so much more! I stayed literally until they were putting up chairs as I wanted to listen to the band and DJ more! If you are looking for a fun and relaxing way to end your week this is the spot! The drinks are amazing and unfortunately I did not get to try the food, but it looked amazing! I met some wonderful people and I can't wait to come back here!

So let's talk about The Lush Café…read more Where do I even begin? First of all, why does the place-show-order system move faster than I can blink? I barely had time to decide if I wanted fries or to change my mind about life. Slow down. Let me breathe. Then the food came out like it was in a relay race -- piece by piece. One plate here. Ten minutes later, another plate. By the time everything arrived, somebody at the table was done eating. Are we sharing or are we time traveling? Now let's get into the finances. A $30 deposit? Okay, cool -- I actually don't hate that idea. But the automatic 20% gratuity per person? Ohhh okay. So we tipping whether service is good, bad, or spiritually absent? Got it. Because once that 20% is secured, apparently so is the effort. No check-backs. No "How's everything tasting?" Just vibes and a bill. And if you don't like something? Don't expect a redo, a swap, or even a concerned eyebrow raise. You'll get a look, maybe a shrug, and then here's your receipt. Let's talk about the water. Plastic cups. Not filtered. Just straight "hydration but make it questionable." The band? Whew. They need acoustic panels, insulation, something. Because that bass was fighting for its life. It wasn't giving live music -- it was giving "speaker in distress." The food? The fish was salty. The crab legs were salty. If I wanted that much sodium, I'd go lick the ocean. Seasoning is cute. Over-seasoning is aggressive. There's a broken chair sitting in front of a beautiful picture wall like it's part of the aesthetic. Is it décor? Is it a test? Are we supposed to risk it for the photo? Now let me be fair. The BEST things in the whole place? * The one photo room -- beautifully lit. 10/10 for selfies. * And the cute white guy bartender. Yes. You, sir. You were the highlight of the establishment. Other than that? The Lush Café is more "Lush Vibes, Low Effort." It's cute for pictures. It's cute for the aesthetic. But if you're going for service and balanced seasoning... you might leave a little salty too. Would I go back? For photos and eye candy at the bar... maybe. For the food and service? Let's just say I'm not rushing. P.S that free birthday shot

It's a lobby bar/game room and the bartender also serves as the person who checks you in. Rooms are bare minimum: thin mattress, no comforter just a blanket. No rugs or couch or any furniture and the walls were thin, making it hard to enjoy a quiet stay. The blackout curtains worked well. There was a huge beanbag chair which was fun. I didn't mind the lack of a closet. I thought the concept of hangers on the wall itself was funky, functional, and a better use of space in most cases. The "ironing room" -- a supposed area stocked with towels, toiletries, and other amenities. Unfortunately, it was completely understocked, for basic supplies like towels. It's clear there's a lack of attention to detail when it comes to maintaining the hotel's resources. There was a hotel restaurant but free breakfast is limited (parfait, fruit, muffin) not like other hotels in Marriott Bonvoy hotel chain offer. And overall this hotel is in a great location. Close to downtown Tempe as well as quick freeway access. Location is the only redeeming quality. The location is ideal, with a CVS right next door for any quick needs, and it's incredibly easy to catch an Uber, Lyft, or even a Waymo to explore different areas around the city.

The fourth floor looks terrible -- there are empty, broken-down rooms and the hallways feel neglected. The carpet on both the fourth floor and first floor is in very bad shape and looks like it hasn't been maintained in a long time. Inside the rooms, the flooring is actually popping up in areas, which makes the whole place feel worn out and poorly maintained. Overall, the hotel just looks very old and neglected now. The elevators are another concern. They make loud noises and honestly sound like they could break at any moment. There is also an unpleasant smell in parts of the building. When you get off the elevator and walk toward the lobby, you can see construction going on, which only adds to the messy and rundown feeling of the property. This place used to be a great stay when we first came here, but now it's honestly pretty shameful to see how much it has deteriorated. The location and concept are great, but the hotel clearly needs serious maintenance and attention.

Located inside the Canopy Hotel in Scottsdale, I didn't have trouble finding free parking right outside of the hotel (I wonder if the same holds true on a Friday or Saturday night). After parking, take the elevator all the way up to get to the rooftop. Ambiance (4/5): Pretty awesome. I love a good rooftop. Outrider has a good deal of comfortable seating which is always a plus in my book. It's an open air bar, so there's also some seating by the bar which is semi-covered. There's even a firepit of sorts, but only one. Would be cool if they had more. The best part though? The view from the rooftop. You can see the mountains in the background and old town Scottsdale. I imagine that the absolute best time to stop by is during a sunset. Service (4/5): Our waitress was friendly and pretty attentive throughout. She did a great job making us feel like we were right at home. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior so I can't comment on their food. Drinks (4/5): Outrider has a nice selection of craft cocktails. While I was intrigued, I stuck to beer. Not a huge selection by any means, but there are a decent number of craft brews, including a handful I had never tried. The beers are fairly priced. If you're looking for a nice rooftop, Outrider is a great choice.

Honestly, I have no idea how it got those reviews. Maybe they're paid, I'm not sure, but based on my experience I would not go back. The biggest issue was the service. We arrived and were told to sit anywhere we wanted. After sitting down, we waited about 20 minutes and no one ever came to our table. No greeting, no water, nothing. Eventually I had to walk up to the bar and ask what the procedure was. Do we order at the bar? Do you have table service? No one could give a clear answer. They just kept saying, "If you want, you can order here." That's not the point. If I sit down at a restaurant, I expect someone to come to the table and explain how things work or take our order. If the system is that you order at the bar, just say that clearly so people know what to do. The drinks were also very mediocre. Nothing special at all. Honestly, they tasted like something you could throw together at home with soda, alcohol, and ice. The surprising part is that the food was actually phenomenal. The kitchen clearly knows what it's doing. The dishes were delicious and probably the best part of the entire experience. But great food alone isn't enough to make me return somewhere with poor service and forgettable drinks. My recommendation is don't waste your time on a Sunday brunch. There are plenty of other brunch spots with good food and good service.
