We had a really fun time at groggy's with our friends. Decided to stop for drinks after having dinner at a nearby restaurant. They were having an Xmas party of some sort so there were lots of people dressed in festive clothing. The drinks were good and cheap and we were entertained by some folks arguing and almost fighting over a jacket. Lol it never escalated to throwing punches but boy were they upset. I don't think this is an issue for this establishment seems like all locals and everyone was really nice. read more

Not only was I told no, I was chastised for asking because Friday night seems to be a big juke box revenue night for them one employee even called me an asshole for asking. I've given Groggy's some time and decided to give them a second chance. And believe it or not, they've gotten better! The food has most certainly improved the most. The staff itself is very hit or miss. For instance, the last few times I've come by I ordered wings to-go. Let's just say that for every time they actually get my order correct, they get my order wrong 2 more times. I've had to send my wings back on multiple occasions with different bartenders, and I have absolutely no idea why it's so hard to get a chicken wing order right. pre lockdown, this place was POPPIN' but I do I have fun every time I come here. They have 4 pool tables, but I think 2 are closed due to covid19 guidelines - -they have their patio open and that's always a plus to be able to escape for a little for some fresh air or if you're a cigarette smoker - you'd definitely end up on the patio making new friends because everyone is friendly there!! Live close so me and my pals used to walk over. The quality of bar drinks and food is sorta spotty. Depends on whos working if you catch my drift. That being said, sometimes ITS GREAT for playing bar games. We stopped going because........... Often the crowd was kinda aggressive. Since I don't really drink all I can have it tea or water. They were nice enough to let me test the tea before I got. Didn't like it so asked for water. That's from the tap once I took a sip. So the people I was with asked it they had bottled water. Thank goodness they did. I read in another review about the women's restroom.. You have got to be kidding me. Who in the hell puts it next to the bar. As I women I don't want to see someone else using the toilet. As you walk in you have a toilet no door and the handicap stall. Half the door handle broken off on the inside. Just gross. Fix that crap.. Music was so loud you can't have a conversation with anyone. Glad I looked at the reviews as they were spot on.. And if you still decide to to go there make sure you choose 4 credits per song so no one overstep your choice of music! It's fun when your adult daughter invites you to go drinking at one of her regular haunts with her and her friends. Four of us went here one night while I was visiting in April and had great fun. The barmaid was very nice, though extremely busy, and the draft beer was good. I just had a couple of beers and we did a lot of talking, nothing exciting. In fact the most exciting thing happened on the way in when some dude was checking out said daughter's derriere exclaiming loudly on its attractiveness. I didn't know whether to be flattered for her or irritated. I teasingly said, "Hey, that's my daughter!" Fellow didn't have much of a sense of humor and responded, "Who cares?" Duh, I do. My go to watering hole. Spent many a nights here with friends and family shooting pool, darts, and spending too much money on the jukebox. It is a great dive and has all the highlights of one. Dingy bathrooms, drunken regulars hitting on you and your friends, cigarette vending machine and a bartender that'll pour you a mean drink. No frills, no drama, just a good time for a fair price. They have good bar food. Crystal and Marty work Friday and Saturday and I have never found a bartender that can compete with either of them. I go to a lot of bars. This is the BY FAR the best of the lot. read more

Each time I pass the inebriated frog sign that welcomes you to Groggy's, I knew I had to try it out. I should say that the rad frog sign out front created higher expectations for me than was ultimately fair for Groggy's. I was expecting something a bit more 'unique' but Groggy's is fundamentally like many beer/pool/wings kind of bars. Its a pretty big place though with an area outside to eat/smoke... overlooking the ambiance of ghetto apache/main street (Its probably Main St by that point). They had a really great special on Sundays ($7 for 12 wings and 32oz of beer). The wings were not particularly great though.... quite soggy (no Groggy rhyme intended). Although the Groggy logo has a place in my heart, I doubt I'll be frequenting Groggy's. read more

Although I may not look like it at first glance, in my past life, I was a barfly so this place felt like home. However, if you are a new citizen to the bar atmosphere, this place may just scare the sh*t out of you. I will totally be back and I thoroughly enjoyed having Amber Bock on tap and the interesting clientele that imbibes there. The daytime bartender is great. Very attentive and hospitable. Once it's shift change....leave. The night person was the complete opposite. The service sucked, we couldn't keep her attention long enough to order, she only openly noticed us after we stood to leave.... Groogy's is pretty cool. I can actually walk there as it's less than a mile from my place. The beer is priced right. I had several of those huge "schooner" glasses they have. I didn't try the food but it seems like your basic dive bar menu with burgers, fries, wings and the like. They have a ton of pool tables, a juke box with some good selections, and friendly bartenders. The crowd was mixed and people were friendly and wiling to chat.
