It hasn't changed much since the late 80's when it opened. Menu is VAST, lots of options - it's elevated American bar food. The burger is SNEAKY because it's actually a wine burger, and imo, better than Harvey's - especially the bun and structure of the burger. Another sneaky, must have item is the cheese steak; it's not a "Philly," but a middle American, likely midwestern, version of it elevated in all the right ways. When's the last time you had a white person style taco salad with yellow cheese, ground beef, Olives, tomato, sour cream, etc? Haven't seen that on a menu in years until I came here. Well for weekends, the music is on, it's noisy & there are a lot of people here around 1 - 2pm. There is a longer wait for your food. However, they are courteous, just slow. We finally got our food. I got the Green Chili Melt & my friend got the Allen Sandwich. We both agreed that the food was good although a bit on the greasy side. Both sandwiches were put on the grill before being brought to us. They came with fries. Both of us ordered Coca-Cola. It was a pleasant experience. read more

Stopped by for the first time on a Friday evening for some pool and cheap drinks. Pomeroy's did not disappoint! My party of 7 grabbed a booth and a pool table, paid for with quarters (remember to bring your spare change! Despite the lively atmosphere inside, we snagged our booth and pool table immediately! Incredibly cheap drinks that were still tasty. My friends ordered me 2 x amaretto sours, which did not disappoint!! Good luck getting in after 10pm. They will stop you at the door arbitrarily to display how "busy it is" claiming capacity and require waiting for at least 20min. In reality they will let you in regardless of capacity once you have waited enough time - saw this 5 times where it had no connected to whoever left. Lame. read more

We CHOSE this establishment. We felt this was the place to come get a beer after our midnight burritos. We are decent people but people that come, at least after midnight was not. So We were denied service without them asking us what happened. Almost profiled. They are the "Judge" Pomeroy. Come here for judgment. Not for a beer. You will be denied. Seriously this is not the place to choose. It's a little dinky bar that charges you to play a song, and insecure weirdos unchecked. I have never ever written a review to like this but this is the truth. What a contrast....last time I was there I ranked them 5 stars because "they provided me with food when I was hungry " hahaha! This is a great and chill spot to hang out with friends. They have 4 pool tables and several booths as well as a handful of arcade games and 2 dart games. The service is very good. The bartender lady was friendly and made good drinks and the other staff were nice and professional and kept the bar clean picking up trash from the booths. It's a large space so even when busy, it does not feel super crowded. They also have a shuffleboard table that was fun to use. They have a variety of food on their menu and lots of drink options. We tried their fries, mozzarella sticks and onion rings. Nothing special but they did the job and the prices are very good. Be prepared to wait for food when it gets busy, but there's tons to do so it wasn't a big deal. There's a large parking lot to accommodate cars since it's in a shopping plaza where most of the business close by the evening. I did really like this spot and would come back again. read more

Met a fella at My favorite dive bar Wineburger Saturday watching the ASU vs U Of A game , he told me Pomeroys had good food as well. So i tried them 2 nights in a row the first night i had the Cajun turkey melt my goodness it was so delicious, and the portion sizes were huge came with a large order of fry's i loved both their ranch and blue cheese 9.50$ its enough for 2 people. Definitely 15$ at a place like Twin Peaks. Last night had to go back and retrieve my debit card, they have a stack of cards for some reason. So decided to try another menu item and went with the Taco Salad and again didn't disappoint absolutely huge portions (11.50$) packed with flavor. Washed it down with some ice cold ones. Lived in the area off and on since 2004. Somehow i missed this place, this review is based on dive bars, if your not into hole in the walls, dont go its a little grungy, but the value, quality, quantity of the food and drinks your not going to beat it anywhere near this area besides Wineburger and Hi Liter Gents Club all have excellent affordable food. Was going with a 4 star but thinking about the amazing food alone, im going to give it a 5 i want people to try it out and enjoy it like i did without breaking the bank for a good meal. read more

If only we could do half stars, because I'd say this place gets 2.5 - 3 stars. Docking points mainly for the service which was just not great here, the employees were a little rude and the bartender straight up told us she didn't want to make the drinks we requested. There were 4 of us, and we requested 4 different shots, and she said it would be about 20 minutes to make all of those since it was complicated (it was not even that busy there) and that we should all just do the same shot... So we ended up getting the same thing, but was a weird interaction. Then when they were dropping off food, we were trying to figure out who got what and the server was like "I dont know I'm just here to deliver food" and was very sassy and making it obvious that she was stressed out and could care less about our orders. On the other hand we tried the patty melt which was pretty good, and they have good fries and tater tots, and the Buffalo wings were also good too. So mainly giving stars for the food, decent pricing, and the ambiance having games there. They have pool, darts, and a few arcade games. They also have a happy hour from 4-7pm I believe, which is later than most, but we arrived right after 7 and missed it unfortunately. My four year return, and oh Lordy Lordy, things have changed for the absolute worst. First and foremost, the (SMELL). It's like Satan's 9th level of hell! If you have a sour, stanky undercarriage, and your soul is good for nothing, this is where you will be sent to when you die.. The smell is unholy and unblessed! #2 In order to get a drink you have to wait in the department of motor vehicles line. It's doesn't matter if you sit at the bar. Without waiting in that hospital cafeteria line, you ain't getting a drink! Two lines on each end of the bar-10 to 12 people deep! That sucks!! Not a place to get a drink or meet up unless you love waiting in a DMV line and smelling the musk of a demon's pungent loins!!! The bar stools are cracked and bar booths are so gross! The Bartenders hate their jobs and have the personalities to prove it.. So many more dive bars in the area than this. I loved this place for so many years, it hurts to see how stinky it's become - literally. Avoid this bar at all costs, unless you're down with the funk and Costco lines to checkout!! Harsh review-sorry, "but" it's the truth! I truly hope they can turn this around, this is a neighborhood staple and was a truly amazing dive bar. About this place: you'd never know from the outside how great their bar food really is! And it's great! Now, it's bar food. But it's soooo good. The service is like Cheers, super nice, friendly, and a great corner bar. The burgers are really good and the hot dogs too! The fries Trump fast food anywhere, and everything is cooked fresh and great quality. The drinks are fine. You're not going to get high dollar craft cocktails here, but it's a corner dive. Lots of great games and fun things to do. Darts, pool, Golden Tee golf, and lots more. Come as you are, nothing fancy, just a great bar meal, good folks, good fun and great prices! I love Pomeroy's. It's the definition of a dive bar but so relaxed and fun. I would give more stars if they had a vegan menu option. I've been coming for years and requesting they add one and they always say they'll look into it but nothing yet. Would be nice to be able to eat here with my friends. Most of the staff is super nice and friendly and will remember you. There's one bartender who has been rude a few times but doesn't seem to be there most of the days I've come in. Would give more stars if they had a vegan food option and if they ripped out the carpets because it makes the place smell musty. No idea how I could come to uptown so many times without noticing this place. A neighborhood bar so packed, it was standing room only by just 8pm on a Saturday! I met up with three other friends looking to down some pints and have a little bar food, but ended up taking a few shots (they had good specials!) and playing some arcade games. The bartenders worked efficiently--I never had to wait more than a couple of minutes for something despite the full room. I would definitely come back and try it again. The menu is large for bar food and all is excellent! The number one selling item is the patty melt! Absolutely delicious! The cook Lenny, and bar tenders Jason and Logan are on it. They remember what you have previously had and know what you want. Your drink is rarely dry for any length of time. They are some of the best in the industry. But Logan needs his one nose hair cut! A little hygiene is in order. Lol just kidding! But therapy is in order! Place gets nuts on the weekends. Sally and Newell who work the days are exceptional people. Me and my sister went here for my 21st birthday. My parents have been going here for years as well as my sister. They love this place and recommended it to me. I went here. I had a single drink then went to the bar to order my first drink by myself. I accidentally leaned "on the bar" which apparently I'm not allowed to do. He said im too intoxicated. I said respectfully "I don't mean any disrespect I've only had 1 drink is there any reason why I'm cut off?" . He said you're showing signs of being too drunk and called me a dumb*ss and to get the h*ll out. My parents have been going here for ten yrs and will never come back as well as ME AND MY SISTER. First time here and loved it. Hubs and I came in for a late lunch. We love a good dive bar with great food and this did not disappoint. The owners were here and so sweet! Hubs had the French Dip which was stacked with meat, juicy on a toasted bun, plenty of au jus for dipping and crinkle fries. I was on the fence between the JWS, a grilled chicken breast, bacon, melted swiss and avocado on a toasted bun and the fish and chips. I asked and they recommended both but I went with the JWS. OMG. This was one for the books. Trash bar with rude staff. Spent $300 with a group of colleagues and then told my tab was closed. When I inquired why? I was told to leave, my colleague discovered when asked for his ID that he may have left it back at our tour bus. We are in town performing at the local music hall. Once we discovered it was there we called him an Uber and ad he waiting for it to arrive we approached again and told he had to immediately get out. While he away retrieving his wallet, we were one by one closed out and told we were no longer being served, then when he returned with his wallet he was let in and then denied a drink. Then when I inquired again we were all kicked out. One of the worst I've ever been treated and I travel for a living. Trash bar. Horrible people. Go elsewhere. Peace and love read more
