This past election day, I knew I wanted to slam a couple cold ones before the results rolled in. I wanted something lowkey, away from the bustle of downtown. Little did I know I would stumble onto the best dive bar around Sunnyslope! Dodey's is a small neighborhood watering hole boasting tons of TVs, a decent beer selection, and some pool tables. Service was OK, but it was so busy on a Tuesday (in fact, the busiest place I'd seen all night!) they might have needed a second bartender. I would come back to shoot billiards and sip IPAs. This is not a place to go if you're just looking to play a game of pool or two or even relax and have a drink I went into the bathroom and noticed it was very disgusting to say the least! the toilet didn't even have a cover on the back part just completely broken down and no toilet paper!? It also seemed like a lot of regulars go there and talk shit about other customers. it was my first time here, i was alone playing a few games of pool minding my business. The "regulars" were also very unpleasant constant staring, which made me really uncomfortable! they were obnoxiously loud. The cherry on top was seeing them doing cocaine out in the open. More then once! Like seriously??? The music, the people, the ambience, Horrific... This place is a joke! I don't recommend coming here, unless you want to end up in a fist fight with a bunch of druggies. I had a pit in my stomach the entire time I was in there. On guard and on edge, and I don't even drink alcohol.. just wanted to play some pool. I will never come back. In all honesty this is the worst place I ever been. This place is the elusive goldmine of solid, 24k nugget drink gold.The Dutchman's secret may be percolating thru the local d bar scene talk, but only the most worthy and coolest of cats will find and enter. Anyway - the service is what made me come back. Susan and Suzi are the HEARTS of Dodeye's. The rare, genuine service made me feel special, like a welcome guest in their own home. I ordered one beer (pint) on draft and one shot. Closed my tab right away - signed the receipt for $16, and gave Suzi a $5 cash tip. Got the bill from my bank a few days later and they had changed the price to $25. Not cool. I am still giving the experience 3 stars for the fun time I had that night. It was an ok experience. Not very many people that night and everyone there were having intimate conversations. I prefer being social and talking to others when going to a local bar. And...me and my boyfriend wanted to play pool. We didn't think anyone was wanting to play and the table was empty. So, I went to get some quarters for the table and my boyfriend got us each a drink. When I came back to the pool table a minute later a lady and her friends were there. We asked if they wanted to play doubles and they said no. They then proceeded to play pool and pretend like me and my boyfriend weren't there. Not cool! Just have some consideration. But! On a side note! I'd like to address the pivotal topic of pub mix. Yes, they have it. Previously, we "Dodos" enjoyed the free Costco brand that included sesame-encrusted discs. And everyone knows those are the best. Although this new mix is still presented in an inviting cradle of foil, it is not the same quality! This is cheese-ball forward, AND the basket of dubious delights features bargain-basement "doritos." Are the bartenders amazing? Yes. But who cares. This pub mix blows. Don't come here. Dodey's Central first off let me start by saying Suzi if awesome I stopped in from time to time on my way home from work for an ice cold Budweiser in my opinion better than dodey's North for the fact that it is less hectic and after a long day at work I want to set down and listen to music and drink a few ice-cold Budweiser's I'm looking forward to stopping in over the weekend at some point to see how the weekend atmosphere is. Came to this bar by chance. Needed a place that was open until 2 am. Found this place to be a hidden gem. Met Suzi and she was wonderful. I had 4 beers and it cost me less than $20 with a tip. It says I've checked in here 2 times, but I've been here waaaaayyy more than that! I better step up my game. This is my favorite dive bar by far, super friendly and fun bartenders, and a divey/fun atmosphere. The Christmas lights are a nice touch. There's a dart board and a few pool tables along with that punching game and golf game (whatever it's called). I've come here a few times by myself, grabbed a couple beers and sat at the bar watching a sports event on the TV's behind the bar. I've already downloaded the touch tunes app so I can start playing my own music from the jukebox, right from my seat at the bar.
