On a Saturday evening, I was unexpectedly looking for a hookah spot so I hopped on the trusty Yelp…read moreapp. It had been at least a year and a half since I last smoked hookah, so this is a rare occasion for me. Axis Hookah Lounge was the closest one to where I was, and the reviews were solid, so I made my way over. They're located in a shopping center along with several other businesses including a Latin club. Parking wasn't an issue. Ambiance (4/5): While it doesn't look like much from the outside, the inside is pretty nice. There is plenty of seating, mostly comfortable red couches. Which makes for a nice way to kick back and relax. There are also some tables if you'd prefer that instead. The seating is spaced out well enough where you have a little bit of privacy. And they were also playing music while I was there. Service (3.5/5): Pretty much your standard service. We were greeted upon entering, allowed to pick our seats, we ordered promptly, and the waiter brought our hookah to us. I had to proactively order drinks and close out, but overall, the service was fine. Food (N/A): I had dinner prior, so no food for me. I did notice they have crepes, but I'm not sure if they have more than that. Drinks (3/5): I had a Gatorade. They have various cans and bottles including water, La Croix, Coke, pineapple juice, and various other soft drinks and juices. No alcohol here. Which isn't uncommon as many hookah spots are Middle Eastern. Some hookah spots have alcohol and some don't. I prefer spots that do. Now to what's most important, the hookah. Pretty much your standard options. They have a good number of their own creations or you can create your own mixing fruit flavors, mint, etc. We went with one of the creations and hung around for about an hour or so. The price of the hookah was reasonable. I'd return.

This could be a cool spot if you were looking for more intimate vibe for karaoke. The ambience was right and they have the best karaoke set up. I have yet to see. I love that you can browse through various curated playlist, see and change your spot on the queue, and even alter the sound settings as you're singing. The screen is large and ample size to see and read. They also do fun little trivia games throughout the night with the reward for the winner! I love that they have a mocktail menu, and I think that their snacks are a perfect array of choices. If we hadn't eaten before we came, we definitely would have ordered more. I really liked the piña colaca drink. It couldn't be a little difficult to find as it's in a strip mall and the very back, so it's a little bit harder to see from the road. The cocktails are so good here -- so many are my favorite, especially the espresso martini. They also seem to have rotating specials too -- I can't remember what this month's drink is but it has candied ginger in it and it is so good! Butler's has a small menu but the grilled cheese is super yummy. I see they have just added hummus to the menu so definitely need to check that out! You can also bring in outside food. I joined the wine club and every month they have a curated wine tasting and then members get the selected bottles to bring home. The have a little charcurterie table set up too. Wine club members are free and I think it is $20 for non-members. I want more people to come to Butler's because it is such a great neighborhood bar -- so check it out now!!!

The mango puree was prominent which I loved and was well complimented with sour and spice. This drink style is a little more commonly found in other bars too which is probably because it's popular! Indoor smoking: smoky, cool and well done twist in the old fashioned. They prepare it in such a cool way with the smoking process and the delivery is great. SMOOTH old fashion. It was alcohol forward but I didn't feel any burn that I normally get from any common old fashion. It also had the best citrus aftertaste The sunny slope sour: great if you love whiskey sour. I loved this drink the pear and peach made the whiskey taste less harsh. One of the better renditions of whiskey sours I've had My brightside. Bitter but works so well with watermelon! Refreshing, balanced and delicious. I typically don't love Negronis but I loved this rendition. The nanny: mezcal espresso martini that was also well done. You can also taste raspberry and chocolate every sip Mulled wine: hot wine with spices that I argue was better than the mulled wines I've had in Europe. All the spices and aromas were so complex yet cozy for a chilly night! The bartenders treat their regulars well and seem to really have a great community here. With offers for movie nights, paint and sip, jack box games, wine club, etc

This was my first visit to this place. It mostly kind of biker's place or dive bar. The bartenders are serving relevantly cheap drinks to a regular clientele. The drink selection is not so reach however you can find from light cheap beer to decent border bourbon. Loud place that is visited mostly by bikers and workers. Some of the guys in the bar were form kind of bikers club. Every Friday there is a live music for free. Music, could not say so, let's say just a local band performing songs. Not bad at all. If you are with company of 6 - 7 men - that is just fine. All of you just can have cheap drinks and leave the place. If you are with your girlfriend or wife...she could collect too many admirers in just about an half an hour. The snacks are with acceptable quality even good. read more

This is a great place. Cozy friendly and great bands to dance to. Nice people. l've been coming here for around 15 years....When l moved to Phoenix back in 1978, the Loft was still here at the same general location. Just different owners back then. In all this time, l heard of only one bad incident that happen in the back parking lot of the bar...Everyone pretty much knows everyone else. I feel safe being there and its like a home away from...Its unual to see someone that you dont know. The owners are the best....I love this place and all the people there. read more

WORST BAR EVER!!! This place has completely given up. I don't know why but it's gotten really bad. Unless you are one of the regulars who have probably been drinking there since 8am you don't get much attention here. Ordered a Bloody Mary with tequila, she put vodka in. 4 people at the bar, no excuse. I ordered wings.... 45MINS LATER my wings show up. Don't know what happened to this place. The young girl bartender, don't know her name because she never introduced herself. Probably because her boyfriend or a husband sitting at the bar and staring everybody down every time, she works all night long. Drinks are okay but 0 personality. Plus, they need to change their hours of operation. Everywhere it says 8am to 2am every day. But I walked in on Tuesday at 9:45pm and the bar was already shut down, doors locked. I felt like I was at the dog park. What should have smelled like a hamburger and fries when you come in, but all you smell is a wet dog and dog pee. Plus, they were roaming around with no leash. I love animals, but Pitbull running around the bar is a little scary, friendly or not. The food is good if you don't mind being served by a bunch of drug addicts. I was harrassed the entire time I was there. Made me feel very uncomfortable. Then I was assaulted by a drunk patron, and none of the employees did a thing to stop it. There was an employee there off duty drinking that kept pacing back and forth staring at me and my friend. So I'm at this local watering hole 'Bridgette's', and the bartender (not named Bridgette), though I can't remember her name because the echoing sounds of a familiar song from Halsey coming from the Plus sized lungs of the third-runner-up-Miss-Missouri was bouncing it's location repeatedly off each wall's piece of artwork and retired license plate frames like it was lost and looking for directions... asked me for a drink order and if I wanted a menu.. I defaulted to my shot, beer and a cheeseburger to which she immediately asked me specifics. Medium, cheddar, on the side and ranch please! This chick was on it ;) I quietly sang along to Halsey because naturally at my age I know the words but wouldn't be caught dead singing it... I would only karaoke Notorious lol. The other bartender female was laughing a little with the few ppl next to me. I notice they have pull tabs machine. Who has that!? Love it. The menu is extensive, not to be confused with expensive. Two Dart machines in the back (yes!) I never understood why THAT wasn't an Olympic sport?! (Yes I do, but I'm good at it, so that's all I got). Food came out quick, shot number two is about to be ordered while I tried to figure out who the heck (and where) the dude was hiding that was singing the next song.. because I'd hide too! Well, it's a local dive bar that's been around forever and pretty much wears it on it's sleeve! While it could use a serious remodel to update a bit and lose some of the ick, would that ruin the ambiance of "dive bar"? They call the place a "patio," but let's be honest: if nicotine had a spiritual home, it would be right here. If you're a non-smoker or someone who believes oxygen should be unobstructed by Marlboro ghosts, turn around. This is not your ministry. The bartender was an absolute icon. She announced she wasn't even supposed to be working, which is EXACTLY the kind of energy a true dive bar requires. A local favorite with many familiar faces to the staff is always a good sign. Enjoy a nice game of pool or listen to the jukebox pumping out your favorite tunes, the Tac won't disappoint. They have a great drink selection with a full bar that's always packed. The food is basic bar food but with an Arizona / Tex Mex twist. The Arizona melt was perfectly toasted and perfect with fries. The bartender and staff made no effort to address the behavior or maintain a respectful atmosphere. I left immediately. Whether through action or inaction, allowing that kind of conduct creates an environment I don't feel comfortable supporting. I won't be returning.
