Love this bar. It's a hole in the wall ya but the service is great and typically the crowd is as well.

Jessica, my waitress was really awesome and very friendly and helped me pick out some really great things on the menu. I had the Reuben sandwich with sweet potato fries. The German pretzel bites with beer, cheese and the churros with ice cream and a few beers and I have to say the prices are excellent and the food is incredibly good and I don't say that lightning most dive bars are just good for the ambience and a few cheap drinks. This place is great all around. Also, their patio area is dog friendly, so I was able to bring my little furry friend with me and he hung out and laid down near the table. Another bonus.

You can tell right away this is the kind of place regulars come back to often. Food I didn't try much food, but I did have the cheese crisp and it was solid. Light, flaky, and more like an open-faced tostada than a quesadilla. It came topped with green chili and chicken, and everything worked well together. Based on that, I'd expect the rest of the menu to be consistent, even if it's not trying to reinvent the wheel. Service Service was efficient, especially considering how busy it was. No complaints here... you can tell the staff knows how to handle a full house and keep things moving. Ambience This is where the place stands out. The vibe feels like a food network designed a biker bar, but in a fun, not over-the-top way. It's also apparently a Kansas City Chiefs bar, which adds to the identity. There was a live band playing early 2000s rock hits, which kept the energy up. Crowd was friendly overall, very much a neighborhood crowd. Overall This isn't a destination bar, but it's a really solid go-to if you live nearby. Think of it as an elevated dive/sports bar with a strong local following. Good drinks, good energy, and a place that does what it's supposed to do well.

Sunny's Lounge was in the area, and I had passed by it before, so I decided to stop by on a Saturday night. They have a small parking lot and I was able to find a spot. If you can't find a spot, you can park for free on a side stret. Ambiance (4/5): Dive-ish is a nice way to put it. Small. But also homey and cool. There's a pool table in the corner with some seating that surrounds it. Plus some seating at the bar. Service (5/5): Friendly and attentive service. Which goes a long way. I was greeted promptly, the bartender answered my questions, and he was friendly. Everything I look for at a bar. Food (N/A): I had dinner earlier that night, so I was on a liquid diet, but Sunny's does have a limited menu mainly consisting of snacks and hot dogs. While I didn't try any of the food, there is some creativity with their food options, so I'd like to give them a try next time around. Drinks (4.5/5): While Sunny's is dive-ish, they are known for their cocktails. And they have an interesting list of creative craft cocktails to choose from. Including some tiki drinks that seem to be a collaboration with Undertow, a nearby tiki bar. Perhaps they're owned by the same people? Either way, I liked it. There's sophistication in their cocktails, which I'm always a fan of. Sunny's is a cool spot. My preference would be to go on a weekday, because if you're trying to play pool, one pool table is not enough when there's a crowd.

I met my brother there and since we were early we decided to get a bite to eat. There were some other dudes who'd bikes were there for the shoot as well and they told us the Playa had the best burgers in the WORLD so we decided to check it out. This was, what I would call the epitome of a neighbor hood bar. A dive bar or mini sports bar or whatever. My favorite kind. The bar tenders were awesome and they treated their customers just like family. Of course a few of those family members might be considered the black sheep so they had to put them in their places but it was all in good fun. We both ordered a burger with fries. First off, the fries were out of this world good! Perfect crisp on the outside and perfect soft on the inside with some sort of coating that made them amazing! Now the burgers? The best in the WORLD burgers?! Well I can't confirm they are the best in the world, because I haven't been everywhere IN the world but let me say, this was probably one of the best burgers I have ever had! Thick with just the right amount of juicy and the flavor was crazy good. The bun looked like a regular old sesame seed bun but it was slightly denser but not too heavy and it complimented the overall pallet experience perfectly. We sat there talking about these burgers and fries like we had hadn't eaten in 5 years plus we were very entertained by the bar tenders and the college football championship games that were on TV. 5 stars for sure, so if you are ever in the area of 32st and Shea blvd, stop in and grab yourself an amazing lunch or dinner!

This place felt very Cheers-ish - like everyone knew everyone, so good neighborhood bar. I chatted up ladies behind me & they were super nice. Yay for a positive Friday night!

Coach House is a year-round Christmas-themed bar. Located in Old Town Scottsdale, a block or two away from Fifth Avenue, there's a parking lot that was pretty full when I arrived. If you can't find a spot, you can find some free street parking close by (max of three hours). Ambiance (4/5): A lot of holiday pop-ups these days have entrance fees and expensive holiday-themed cocktails. You'll find none of that pretentiousness here. There's no entrance fee and no elaborate cocktails. The reason to visit is the multitude of Christmas lights that adorn both the patio and the indoor area. There are also a bunch of TVs which makes it a good spot to check out the game. It's mostly a patio bar, but there is some room indoors too. As well as Golden Tee and another game. Service (4.5/5): There's a bouncer checking your ID before you come in. From there, there's a larger bar inside where you can order a drink from one of two bartenders (at least when I was there) or a smaller outdoor bar with one bartender (at least when I was there). There's a cash discount (which I always appreciate). What that means is that they don't charge you tax if you pay by cash. While the bar was busy, the bartenders working were efficient. Food (N/A): Coach House doesn't serve food but they did have a Mexican food truck posted up on the patio while I was there. I didn't have any food during my visit though. Drinks (N/A): Since The Coach House is a dive bar, expect a full bar, but don't expect fancy cocktails. Ordering simple mixed drinks or beer is the way to go. They were out of Montucky Cold Snacks so I went with a Woodchuck Cider for $6. Affordable prices in the heart of Scottsdale... I'll take that any day of the week! Speaking of Christmas miracles, while I was sipping my beer on the patio, I saw two black SUVs pull up. A group of people came out of the cars and there was one person who I immediately recognized.
