We remember Shannon aka "morning breath." Not sure if she still works there. She's the oldest bartender there. She's the "grandmother bartender" and she's been working in the bartender industry since the 1950's. I don't believe that lady's ever brushed her teeth in her life. We stopped coming here because this bar went downhill. There's gnats and flies all over the counter and this place stinks. read more

By far my favorite bar to go to. Chill vibes, cool music. Cheap drinks, and drinks are made strong. Bartenders are always attentive and friendly, phenomenal service. Juke box, 3 pool tables, darts, and jenga. Very crowded in the pm. Only complaint is that the parking lot is small and there's no food. read more

Another little fun dive bar find! I like this place because it's great for pool and darts (2 of my favs) and I always make friends. I do wish they had karaoke as I feel it'a exactly what they need to make it that much better and distract from some of the booths/chairs falling apart. We happened to stumble on this place while needing to kill some time. The bartender Susan was so wonderful. She made us feel like part of the family. She also was saying how good the owner is to the employees there and this made me extra happy to support the place. They have bingo on certain Saturdays and so we got in on the bingo. It was super fun!! People donate the prizes and there were some really funny ones. People also bring in snacks to share. The service was great as she was able to do a great job at keeping up even while calling bingo. The money raised from bingo went to a veterans organization which was another win. Love this place so much. I want to move to this neighborhood now. lol read more

I've lived in the area for six years now, and there are few options unless you want to drive 15 minutes in any direction. In that time two of the places for nightlife have shut down, and the quality of all the remaining have declined except Dodey's North. Dodey's has actually become better year over year; and, is definitely the best dive bar within a 10 minute drive (admittedly my drive takes only 4 minutes). Dodey's staff of bartenders are definitely memorable. Some are beautiful, some are simply great people, and some are both. What makes them stand out is how they treat everyone as if they've known them all their lives. Ownership is engaging and fun. They treat their patrons like family while maintaining order. This bar doesn't have fights, is rare to have the 'drunk' jerk, and the owners often buy pizza for the bar. Today's crowd is diverse, ranging from the young crowd to the 'fixture' drinkers. And I'm pleased to say that over the last year the mix of both genders has significantly improved. The bar features three pool tables (two could use some upgrading but do the job), 36", 42" and 60" screens line the walls in front of the bar and are placed in other strategic areas. Side note - this is a cards bar so if you follow the AZ Cardinals you should drop by. The bar has dart boards, wii, lifesize Jenga which is a hit, and a TouchTunes jukebox that you can choose songs directly from your phone. There are still a few hit and miss moments in the size of the crowd, but those are becoming far and fewer these days. Whether you're a group of girls, guys or traveling alone for an evening...Dodey's North is definitely worth a look if you are looking for a good dive bar. Hell, you'll probably see me there playing billiards and I'm always happy to play you in a game. read more

All I can say about this place. It's the best bar in town. Opens at 7AM WOW and closes 2:30am. Hottest girls, incredible sound system that rocks the entire night scene. Ridiculous amount of alcohol to choose from. I can almost guarantee they have exactly what you drink doesn't matter how crazy it is. ALL of the bartenders are basically the best in town when it comes to making mixed drinks and shots! The prices are cheaper than everyone else to boot ! Lastly, 3 pool tables with free pool on sundays. Dart boards, full size giant Jenga, touch screens games, foosball, golden tee and the layout of this place is basically what everyone wants for a bar with HUGE TVs! I love this place and am a regular there now because of everything I just mentioned. Do yourself a favor and check it~ you won't be sorry oh and streets of New York is right next door so you can order with the menus they keep at the bar right there for your convenience and they deliver it extremely fast because they just walk it 50 feet over! I don't know if Dodey's is seedy enough to be classified as a dive bar, but I can say CHEAP ASS DRINKS!~ There are lots of fun things to do like playing pool or darts, or simply staring at the chicks in lingerie behind the bar. (You guys know who you are). Dodey really knows how to light up a room and make everyone feel special and glad they came. Watch out for her though, she has been known to walk around shouting "Vodka shot for your beer?" and that can be downright dangerous. I'm not going to blow the secret on the newbie initiation but it is hilarious to watch and fun to partake in. If you are in the neighborhood I highly recommend stopping in for a pint. Just don't blame me if you end up taking a cab home. read more

Cheap drinks. Scantily clad bartenders. Clean, clean, clean! We arrived at 1130p on a Thursday night and the place was pretty much dead. There were a handful of patrons sitting at the bar and a bartender behind the bar. She was friendly, energetic and checked on us often. After we finished our beer we tried to settle up the bill, but we were informed that we could not use a debit/credit card for purchases under $10. The two beers we drank only came to $7 so we were forced to stay and enjoy another round. While it seemed like an inconvenience for a second, the reality is; any place that you can get a good beer on tap for that price is A-OK in my book! We will have to come back and try Dodey's when it is a bit busier. I can see this place being a LOT of fun! read more

This place is a lot of fun! The girls wear costumes and everyone is so friendly. When Dodey is there, she greets every customer and there is a feeling of community in there. Prices are very reasonable and they make good Bloody Mary's! Can't describe it totally but you should go and get "initiated". It's too funny. I like to take new friends in and watch their reaction. I actually really liked this place at first and had made this my weekend spot to go drink with my roommate, since we live less than a mile away. We both had fun a few different nights. Dodey's has a crowd of just about everything one can imagine! We were lured in by the "girls in naughty costumes" sign when this first switched owners. We are next door having dinner and figured we couldn't pass up seeing what the heck was going on. There is a long bar and basically 2 sections to the bar. Nothing fancy. Pretty much your typical diver, but a bit cleaner! Service is friendly and Dodey and her son seem SO very dedicated to keeping the customers, happy, safe, and entertained. The jukebox is new and usually playing a good variety. There is pool, darts, and sometimes they have wii going on the flatscreen. No food is served here, but SNY is next door and they will deliver for free and you can eat right at the bar. The drinks here are DIRT CHEAP. Our bill has never been more than 20 bucks and I typically leave slightly faded. Dodey's is a fun, safe, almost odd little pop in place for a drink or four. read more
